How to get radio button value in JavaScript

I have a very simple radio button with two values: 1 and 2. I am trying to pass the value using a JavaScript call to a popup window. I am assuming there is a different method of obtaining the value, as
var v_typ = document.getElementById("P1520_TYPE").value;doesn't work.

Hi,
If you are on Apex 3.x or higher, use JavaScript API function $v
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14373_01/apirefs.32/e13369/javascript_api.htm#CHDEJEIG
var v_typ = $v("P1520_TYPE");Regards,

  • How to get the selectOneRadio value in javascript

    Hi,
    I want the selectOneRadio value in javascript. Can anyone give us a solution how to get the selectOneRadio value to javascript from jspx page.
    Thanks,
    Eswari

    Hi,
    I assume you are talking about JDeveloper 10.1.3 in where there is no JavaScript API ADF Faces.Here you will have to use document.getElementById() to access the radio button component (which is a list component). You can look at the generated HTML for how the component and its ID look like.
    However, what is the usecase that you cannot handle in native JSF ?

  • Setting a Radio Button value using Javascript

    After much research, I've figured out that the appropriate command to get the value of a Radio Button in APEX JavaScript is "html_RadioValue", but I haven't been able to figure out a command that will let you set the value of the Radio Button. Is there documentation on APEX's use of JavaScript that covers this issue?
    Here's a simplified version of the script:
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    function showval()
    var item1 = html_RadioValue('P19_RADIO');
    alert(item1);
    //Reverse the current selection
    if (item1 == 'Y') then
    <mystery_statement> //set P19_RADIO to N.
    else
    <mystery_statement> //set P19_RADIO to Y.
    </script>
    I've tried the following, but none of them have worked:
    - document.getElementById("P19_RADIO").value = 'N';
    - document.getElementById("P19_RADIO").checked = 'N';
    - $x('P19_RADIO').value = 'N';
    - $x('P19_RADIO').checked = 'N';
    Thanks.

    Okay, that worked in the Oracle-hosted environment, but not in my development environment. Looking at the view/source output from each, it seems that the versions of APEX are different - my environment is using version 3.0.1.00.07.
    The most obvious difference between the sources is the javascript includes at the top:
    <script src="/i/javascript/apex_ns_3_1.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <script src="/i/javascript/apex_3_1.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <script src="/i/javascript/apex_get_3_1.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <script src="/i/javascript/apex_builder.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    vs.
    <script src="/i301/javascript/htmldb_html_elements.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <script src="/i301/javascript/htmldb_get.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    My fundamental question is: how does one learn Javascript, in the context of APEX? I can't find any documentation that explains what $v means, or what $x means, or what $s means.
    Thanks.

  • How to get a kerning value in JavaScript

    How to get a kerning value(distance between two characters) using javascript?

    @Raykor11:
    It would be best to move that question to scripting forum for InDesign.
    But one solution could be:
    1. Read out the property kerningValue from the insertion point between the two characters:
    //if two characters are selected:
    var _kerningValue = app.selection[0].insertionPoints[1].kerningValue;
    2. Measure the exact distance between the characters, so you can decide if you want to increase or decrease the distance
    //Two characters are selected:
    var _twoCharacters = app.selection[0];
    var _charLeft = _twoCharacters.characters[0];
    var _charRight = _twoCharacters.characters[1];
    var _temp1 = _charLeft.createOutlines(false) //false = does NOT delete original
    var _bounds1 = _temp1[0].visibleBounds;
    var _temp2 = _charRight.createOutlines(false) //false = does NOT delete original
    var _bounds2 = _temp2[0].visibleBounds;
    var _distance = _bounds2[1]-_bounds1[3];
    _temp1[0].remove();
    _temp2[0].remove();
    alert("Distance between: "+_distance);
    Be aware that there are a lot of other factors that will apply to character distance if you change the kerning value (like tracking, kerning method, composer, desiredGlyphScaling, desiredLetterSpacing, horizontalScale … just to mention a few), especially if the paragraph justification is set to JUSTIFIED or FULLY_JUSTIFIED.

  • Getting Radio Button Value

    I have a radiogroup that get its values from a table (For example, the query returns 3 values: Image, Text, Both. And this values are shown in the application). My question is how to get the value selected when one of this is clicked.

    OK. You need to use a bit of javascript in your page. In the HTML header section of the page-definition add the following<script>
    function hideAndShow(val) {
    if (val=='I') {
      $f_Show_On_Value_Item('P90_Radio','P90_item1',val)
      $f_Hide_On_Value_Item('P90_Radio','P90_item2',val)
    $f_Hide_On_Value_Item('P90_Radio','P90_item3',val)
    if (val=='T') {
      $f_Show_On_Value_Item('P90_Radio','P90_item2',val)
      $f_Hide_On_Value_Item('P90_Radio','P90_item3',val)
      $f_Hide_On_Value_Item('P90_Radio','P90_item1',val)
    if (val=='B') {
      $f_Show_On_Value_Item('P90_Radio','P90_item1',val)
      $f_Show_On_Value_Item('P90_Radio','P90_item2',val)
       $f_Hide_On_Value_Item('P90_Radio','P90_item3',val)
    </script> For the HTML Form Attributes field of P90_Radio set
    onchange=hideAndShow(this.value)

    You will need to insert these field into the form definition.
    Now, to get a valeu from a radio button, you need only to do request.getAttribute("fieldName").
    To generate dinamically all radio button values, i need to know where are these information? In database? If yes, you need to read the resultset na in value attribute you need to do somethink like this <input type=radio name=fieldName value="<%out.println(resultset.getString("FieldName"));%>">

    document.getElementById(radioid).checked =true;
    this code will work to select the radio button (set). i think there is a error in the id you placed in ID. place the Radio butoon id and check again. Check this thread on [setting a Radio button|Setting HTMLB RadioButtonGroup Selection using JS;

  • How to get all the values of a variable with F4 with checkboxes to select

    Dear Experts,
    After Executing a query by giving let 3 values(Out of 10 Values) to a variable.
    To give 2 more input values to the same variable(i.e.,total I wanted to give 5 inputs this time ),after refreshing the query,for that variable if I click F4, I am seeing the historical values(i.e.,3) and remaining 7 values also But with out any Check Boxes besides them to select the 2 inputs.
    In the same F4 Screen, If I click all values(an Icon at The bottom),then also Im seeing but no check Box.
    I hve tried by deleting the Delete Personalization also,but no use.
    Please tell me How to get all the values with F4 with check boxes to select ,whatever I want??
    Thanks in advance

    Take a look at the InfoObject and go to the Business Explorer tab. If the 'Query Def. Filter Value Selection' is set to 'Only Values in InfoProvider', you're only going to get the values in F4 that exist in the InfoProvider, not everything in the Master Data. This would need to be changed to the value of 'Values in Master Data Table' if you want it to show everything possible when F4 is chosen.
    Likewise, you're going to need to look at the query and go to the Advanced tab for the InfoObject. Make sure that the radio button for 'Values in Master Data Table' is selected. If not, then you should change that selection.

  • Passing radio button values to the backing bean

    Hi all,
    I need help with passing group of radio button values to a backing bean. I have page which has a dataTable to display a list of alerts. For each alert there are two radio buttons (YES & No) to indicate whether the email option for each alert is set or not. Now when i change the radio buttons and click on a submit button i should be able to pass these radio button values into action method in which i need to update the alerts. This is my code
    <h:form>
    <t:dataTable id="sub"
                       var = "alert"
                       value =#{subscriberBean.alertsList}">
    <t:column>
    <h:outputText value="#{alert.name}" />
    </t:column>
    <t:column>
    <h:selectOneRadio id="subscriptions" value="#{alert.sendEmail}">
      <f:selectItem id="item1" itemLabel="Yes" itemValue="0" />
      <f:selectItem id="item2" itemLabel="No" itemValue="1" />
    </h:selectOneRadio>
    </t:column>
    <t:dataTable>
    <h:commandButton id="button1" value="Save changes" actionListener="#{subscriberBean.updateAlert}" />
    </h:form>
    {code}
    I tried to to do something like below and get the updated list in the action event in the backing bean but it didn't work.
    {code}
    <h:commandButton id="button1" value="Save changes" actionListener="#{subscriberBean.updateAlert}" >
    <f:attribute name="alerts" value="#{subscriberBean.alertsList}"/>
    </h:commandButton>
    // Backing Bean
    public void updateAlert(ActionEvent e){
    List<Alert updateList = (List<Alert>)event.getComponent().
                    getAttributes().get("alerts");
    {code}
    Can someone advise how to get these update radio button values in my actionListener method.

    The value the user selected will be written to the sendEmail property of the managed bean named alert. We know this because you set the value attribute to #{alert.sendEmail}. So simply access the managed bean in your action method.

  • How to define RADIO BUTTONS in MODULE POOL PROG.?

    Hi Experts,
    I need to keep the RADIO BUTTONS in 1000_screen of my_module_pool prog., like,
    I hv 2 fields in this screen, as expected, the first shuld hv DEFAULT selection.
    So, I just simply, dragged & dropped 2 radio buttons from left menu of the screen builder & given them the  names as
    R_SUMMARY
    R_DETAIL
    Then i executed the transaction, but, these above 2 fields are getting selected, as default??
    I know that, if its a REPORT prog. we can define as w/ a GROUP, then the 1st one is hv the default selection.
    so,
    1  - How to define RADIO BUTTONS in this screen of a module pool prog.
    2 - How to use these names in the prog.(PAI - i guess)?
    thanq

  • How to pass radiio button value

    Hi All,
    I have two pages PAGE A, PAGE B.

    Here is my problem, when I change the radio button, the changed value is not passing to PAGE B.
    Can anybody tell me how to do this ?
    I know how to pass the value, if I don't populate data from the database....beca'z I can put the radio button value as "yes"or"no".
    but if i use variable in the radio button "value" then I'm not able to pass the value...
    can you please help me on this ?

    Please post an SSCCE (i.e., the minimum amount of correct code) that demonstrates the problem.
