Material bapi custom field change to be logged in change document

Hello all,
I have just added a custom field to MARA table (materials), and updated it successfully via BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA.
I would like now to log changes via change documents but problem : after having changed value from "A" to "B" for example, I don't see the changes (to do this, I call function CHANGEDOCUMENT_READ with parameter OBJECTCLASS = "MATERIAL" and get results from returned EDITPOS parameter).
What is surprising me is that I can see changes of other standard and custom fields (this was done by other people in my company 2 years before but I don't have any trace what they did).
Do you have any idea what customizing need to be changed or what else need to be done, to log changes of new custom fields into change documents?

In this transaction, there is nothing related to fields; there are only objects (like MATERIAL) and tables (like MARA).
I can't see anything which makes the difference between our 2 custom fields MARA-ZZCOLLANA (which is logged in change documents) and MARA-ZZSSCOLL (which is not logged in change documents).
For info, my SAP version is R/3 46C.

Custom Fields in BSEG not updating on FI document post

Hello Experts
I'm facing a problem when posting FI documents. I'm using BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST and passing some Z fields using Table Extension2 (bapiparex). The problem is that the Z fields are not getting updated.
BADI_ACC_DOCUMENT is implemented and working. In debug, I can see that the BADI is working as it should. Furthermore, It was already working for older developments in the same machine.
This problem is only happening in Development machine (DEV). In Quality machine (QAS) everything is working fine. Because my program is still in development, I can't transport it to QAS to see if it works there.
The problems are now the following:
- Older developments aren't updating the Z fields in BSEG
- My new development isn't updating Z fields in BSEG
- Manual posting in FB01 updates the fields
What I have done so far:
- Checked my program codding (it's ok)
- Checked BAPI BADI_ACC_DOCUMENT (it's also ok)
- Checked all user exits being used on this machine that could be clearing this fields - In all of the implemented exits, none of them refers to this problem
- Checked all implemented BTE's - In all of the implemented BTE's, none of them refers to this problem
- Searched for differences between SAP releases on DEV and QAS machines - All components have the same release
- Checked for differences (activation, structure, source code, etc) of structure bapicobl_ci, ci_cobl, table bseg, BADI's being used, etc...
What am I missing here? I think I have done everything that could explain this behavior and still have no answers...

Hi,
in BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST there is a part
    PERFORM call_customer_function
            TABLES extension1.
                                                                                PERFORM call_badi
            TABLES extension2.
for the extensions. Seems that there has to be filled a BADI implementation too to get the extension2 data into bseg.
BADI interface is IF_EX_ACC_DOCUMENT, used method should be method CHANGE.

Custom field in incompletion log

Hi All,
I have added a new custom field (custom field from VBAK) in VA31/VA32 Additional data A tab .
My requirement is : This custom field should appear in the incompletion log ONLY based on some condition.
So to add this custom field into incompletion log, configuration is done through
SPRO->basic functions->Log of Incomplete items->Define incompleteness procedure .

How to proceed further to handle the incompletion log conditionally .
so that only for specific document type and only for specific sold-to-party this field should appear in incompletion log.
Could you please help me if anyone have come across such scenario.

You will not be able handle incompletion log conditionally ONLY just by adding the required custom field in the Incompletion log procedure. Along with the right customization you also have to write the custom logic in the one of the MV45A* userexits populating a record with the sutom field in the runtime structure XVBUV.

Can you please tell me how to implement - Change Pointer for Custom fields in IDOC.
I am working on IDOC - For purchase order - acknowledgements - in custom screen/tab in ME22N.
Everything is working fine according to my requirement.
All i need to know is the process of - Creating/Change - Change pointers for Custom fields.
1.How to implement change pointers for custom fields.
2.Can we maintain - Change Document - for custom fields at data element level?

To maintain Change Document for custom field:
1. Check if "Change document" checkbox is set in data element.
2. Find Change Document Object for transaction.
   You can use SQL trace - ST05.
   Look there for line with table CDHDR and statement insert values
   (for example for transaction KA02 Change Document Object is KSTAR)
3. Regenerate update program for this Change Document Object in transaction SCDO
Change documents for z-fields schould be generated.
I am not sure about change pointers but they are configured somehow in BD61 and BD50.

Log of change on CCS

Hi All,
In transaction ES56 (Change Connection Object), the option Extras (Changes to Object), shows the log of changes related to the Connection Object. This log is generated only for changes in standard data such as: address, city, state, country, etc.
In my current project the Connection Object have two custom date fields and we would like this standard log to also record information about these fields. These two custom fields were appended at IFLOT table. Is it possible to add custom fields to this standard log? Let me know if anyone had faced this issue before.

BADI or User exit for FB50 to update custom field in table COEP

Hi all,
i have added one custom field in table COEP through include CI_COBL .
when i do posting through sales order(VA02) or purchase order(ME22n) that custom fields in COEP get updated with controlling document
and through BADI AC_DOCUMENT i m updating that custom field in COEP.
but when i do manual posting through FB50 controlling document is generated in COEP but i m not able to update that custom field
because in this case BADI AC_DOCUMENT is not get triggered.
is there any BADI or User exit or enhancement spot for FB50 through which i can update that custom field in table COEP

When i get the document data by using "getItemRequest", that responses the custom field data will be loss or wrong.
For Example:
<field>custom field A</field>
<value>aaa</value>
<field>custom field b</field>
<value>bbb</value>
it will response.....
<field>~8010</field>
<value>0</value>
<field>custom field b</field>
<value>bbb</value>
or response......
<field>custom field b</field>
<value>bbb</value>
Am i missing something or step?

There are different labels put on custom fields
marking them as custom email address, mail or
document fields.
There have been cases in the past where the
wrong label had been associated with the custom
field. SOAP originally marked the wrong label.
Once the custom field is set, you can't change it.
You didn't mention what version of the POA you
are using.

CHARM Copy customer fields to ZDMJ (SDMJ)

Hello ,
I have create with transaction eewb some customer fields for the Change Request.
But this filed are not transferd from the ZDCR to the ZDMJ. I have see action and the function SOCM_CRM_COPY_DOCUMENT but i have not found a solution to copy the customer fields to ZDMJ.
Any ideas ?

Need to copy a custom field from sales order to billing document

Hi All,
I have a requirement, I need to add a new field in the sales order header part and even a field in the billing document, once i add this field up in both the documents in the header part i need to create a copy routine using the VOFM tran, can any body help me on what's the procedure to add a field in billing document and does the copy routine transfer the data ( Custom Field ) from Sales Order to the Billing Document, if yes can somebody help me with the procedure on how to and code of it.

Hello,
Regarding item 1, is it in the region of the global links (ie logout, home, preferences, etc.)? If not, have you tried creating a link via personalizations to the region you wish to have the link displayed (item type = link, destination = fully qualified name of your .xml page/region?
Regarding item 2, you may have to create the custom subtab programatically using the controller for the region of the current subtab layout.
Regarding item 3, you can also add a submit button to the page button bar region via personalizations. You can then add any logic you want to the button in the controller for the page.

Change Log for Custom fields

Hi All,
I need the change log for custom fields added in BP transaction codes.
Basically, for tracking the changes of master data in CDHDR and CDPOS tables we will enable the checkbox of dataelement related to custom field.
As for SAP fields in BP transaction code the change history is reflecting in CDHDR/CDPOS tables. i have enabled that for custom fields added to BP transaction code but i could not see the change history for such fields.
Please let us know if iam missing any other thing?

Apart from clicking the checkbox in dataelement...
There are some settings need to be done by BASIS
and some settings and entries should be made in SCOD t-code
create entriy for change document here..

Extending sales order change BAPI and updating custom fields

i added 3 new fields into VA01/02/03 screen.i added at the header level in the additional data tab B area and appended them in VBAK table.
i want to change these values using sales order change BAPI.i added the fields in the structure VBAKKOZ,VBAKKOZX,BAPE_VBAK,BAPE_VBAKX.
may i know what else i need to do?should i move them anywhere with in the code or does the bapi take those values automatically using EXTENSIONIN structure?
also can some one send me code to actually check if bapi is changing my values?

BAPI SALES ORDER CHANGE CUSTOM FIELD

Hello Gurus,
I am trying to update a custom field for sales order. The field name is zfield1 in vbak. The field is added to vbakkom, vbakkomx, vbakkoz, vbakkozx, BAPE_VBAK, BAPE_VBAKX. I guess i need to use the EXTENSIONIN table to populate this field's values to change it with the BAPI. But I not sure exactly how to populate the fields. Can someone tell me how exactly i need to do this?
Also the documentation says fill Extensionin this way.

Sales Order Change BAPI Extension for Customer Fields

I am working on customer field enhancement for BAPI_salesorder_change. The extensionin parameter has more than 1000 characters (fields in the structure BAPE_VBAP) and hence, the two fields that I added to VBAP (using append structure) are not getting the data.
I have followed all the steps that was given in the documentation to fill extensionin like adding the fields to VBAPKOZ and BAPE_VBAP. This is the logic I have used to fill EXTENSIONIN:

I have a requirement that, I need to populate 2 customized fields which are appedned in the VBAK tables through Append structure. I am using BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2 FM for creating it.

To add data to custom fields there are two appraoches.
1)Using the EXTENSIONIN in the Tables option in the FM BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2
Check the Documentation for the same,
Customer Enhancement for VBAK, VBAP, VBEP
Description
You can use this parameter to transfer user-specific enhancments to a BAPI. The customer has to complete the EXTENSION structure and the system automatically continues processing it. If you have not defined any user-specific fields, then you can transfer a blank EXTENSIONIN structure.
Technical information about Customer Enhancements
The following description uses an example to explain how to proceed with customer enhancements to the SD tables VBAK, VBKD, VBAP and VBEP.
The customer has added their own fields to table VBAP using the INCLUDE structure CUTEST. This structure contains 2 fields:
CFIELD1, CHAR 10
CFIELD2, CHAR 3.
The customer also requires that these two fields can be maintained with the BAPI.
1. Maintain structure CUTEST in table VBAP
2. Because the BAPIs work with checkboxes, you must also define a CUTESTX checkbox for the customer structure. It should be structured like this:
Field name Data element
CFIELD1 CHAR1
CFIELD2 CHAR1
3. Define these customer structures in the structures VBAPKOZ und VBAPKOZX using INCLUDE or APPEND.
4. Add the customer structures to the BAPE_VBAP and BAPE_VBAPX BAPI structures using the APPEND technique.
5. Adjust the following structures for customer enhancements to table VBAK:
a) VBAKKOZ
b) VBAKKOZX
c) BAPE_VBAK
d) BAPE_VBAKX
6. Adjust the following structures for customer enhancements to table VBEK:
a) VBEPKOZ
b) VBEPKOZX
c) BAPE_VBEP
d) BAPE_VBEPX
7. Generally, the data should be added to the BAPI interface in the internal communication structures (VBAKKOM, and so on). There, you can process the data in the SD tables (VBAK, and so on).
8. If the EXTENSIONIN parameter contains customer data, you must complete at least the key fields in the relevant standard parameters.
For example:
You want to change customer field VBAP-CFIELD2 for item 20 to "XYZ" in order 4711.
The following entries are expected:
Import: BAPIVBELN-VBELN = '0000004711' Document number
 BAPISDHD1X-UPDATEFLAG = 'U' UPDKZ for doc header
Tables: BAPISDITM-ITM_NUMBER = '000020' Item number
 BAPISDITMX-ITM_NUMBER = '000020' Item number
 + BAPISDITMX-UPDATEFLAG = 'U' UPDKZ for item
You must complete the EXTENSION table as follows:

You can find more information in the BAPI programming guide in the chapter for enhancements to BAPIs.
Notes
You must complete the STRUCTURE field with the name of the relevant enhancement structure (BAPE_VBAK, BAPE_VBAP, BAPE_VBEP). You can complete the remaining fields with the append structures from the enhancement structures.
At the moment, you can use the BAPI to store enhancements in the following structures:
VBAK : An enhancement to header data requires an append structure to BAPE_VBAK and an enhancement to structure VBAKKOZ.
VBAP : An enhancement to item data requires an append structure to BAPE_VBAP and an enhancment to structure VBAPKOZ.
VBEP : An enhancement to schedule line data requires an append structure to BAPE_VBEP and an enhancement to structure VBEPKOZ.
VBKD : If you are using an enhancement for header data, you must add an append structure to BAPE_VBAK. You also need to enhance structure VBAKKOZ. If it is for item data, you need to add an append structure to BAPE_VBAP. You must also enhance structure VBAPKOZ.
If you also want to work with checkboxes, each X-structure must also contain an append structure.
For example:
A customer has created an order and wants to include the material long text (50 digits long).
The EXTENSIONIN structure must be completed with BAPE_VBAP. Two fields have fixed definitions in this structure. These are in the VBAP host key (VBELN, POSNR). The customer sets up an append structure that contains field ZMAT50.
Because the VBELN is normally blank when you create an order, the data can look like this:
STRUCTURE |BAPE_VBAP
2) Create the Sales Document using the FM and when successfully craeted you will get the Sales Document No in the Export parameter SALESDOCUMENT.
After its created and Committed using BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT , do a BDC recording for the same to (VA02 Change Sales Order) update the fields only and save the document.
