How to get the Dataprovider var of a Datagrid inside an ItemRenderer?

Hey,
I have two Datagrids, both of them have a bindable dataprovider. My first Datagrid has an ItemRenderer. I would like to update my dataprovider inside the ItemRenderer. Is it possible? My ItemRenderer is a Combobox. Everytime I change the Combobox I would like to update/refresh the dataprovider for my datagrid. I tried it with but it doesn´t work.(parentDocument
as filename).dataProvider.source=sth.;
(parentDocument as filename).dataProvider.refresh();
Regards
Kat

The parent document of an itemRenderer is not always what you expect.
You're better off using the listOwner property on listData.

    Hi all,
    Can any one tell how to get the number of files(.EPS) count inside a folder when the folder path is specified in VC++ 6.0?

    I'm a little confused by the question, but it sounds like you're asking how to count the number of files with a particular extension in a given directory? That's not really an AI SDK question, but it's a fairly easy one to find if you google it. If you're trying to use Illustrator to do it, AI doesn't have a general purpose file API. It has a few functions to do some things that Illustrator needs, but I don't think enumerating directories is one of them.

  • How to get the selectedIndex from a combobox made by classFactory?

    Dear All,
    I am trying to get the selectedIndex or selecetedItem.banda_id when changing a combobox that is created by classFactory and it is inside a datagrid.
    The code I have is:
    MXML:
    <mx:DataGrid width="100%" height="100%" id="salas_fin_dg" editable="true">
         <mx:columns>
    <mx:DataGridColumn headerText="Titulo" dataField="titulo" editable="false" width="250"/>
    <mx:DataGridColumn headerText="Data" dataField="start_dt" editable="false"/>
    <mx:DataGridColumn headerText="Dur" dataField="duration" editable="false" width="40"/>
    <mx:DataGridColumn headerText="Banda" dataField="banda_nome" editable="true" itemEditor="{combofac}"/>
    <mx:DataGridColumn headerText="$ Ensaio" dataField="total_ensaio" editable="true" itemEditor="controls.NumericInput"/>
    <mx:DataGridColumn headerText="$ Bar" dataField="total_bar" editable="true" itemEditor="controls.NumericInput"/>
    <mx:DataGridColumn headerText="$ Loja" dataField="total_loja" editable="true" itemEditor="controls.NumericInput"/>
    <mx:DataGridColumn headerText="$ CC" dataField="total_cc" editable="true" itemEditor="controls.NumericInput"/>
    <mx:DataGridColumn headerText="$ CH" dataField="total_ch" editable="true" itemEditor="controls.NumericInput"/>
    <mx:DataGridColumn headerText="$ DI" dataField="total_di" editable="true" itemEditor="controls.NumericInput"/>
    <mx:DataGridColumn headerText="$ Pend" dataField="total_pend" editable="true" itemEditor="controls.NumericInput"/>
         </mx:columns>
    </mx:DataGrid>
    Script:
    private function getSalasFinHandler(event:ResultEvent):void
    salas_fin_lst = new ArrayCollection(event.result as Array);
    salas_fin_dg.dataProvider = salas_fin_lst;
    myservice.getBandas();
    combofac=new ClassFactory(ComboBox);
         combofac.properties={dataProvider:bandas_lst, labelField:"banda_nome", prompt:"Selecione"};
    I am using Remote Object to get the data from a DB, and it is working properly.
    As I will update the datagrid cell values, I would like to update them on the DB.
    In order to do that, I would need to access the banda_id value, that is part of the combofac dataprovider, I mean that this dataprovider has 2 columns, being banda_nome and banda_id.
    The question is how to get the banda_id value, when I change the comobobox?
    Many thanks in advance,
    Gines

    Dear harUI and kolinitcom,
    Thanks for the your prompt response and guidelines.
    I went to research a little bit more on the itemEditEnd and found a way to access the data inside the combobox.
    The code for all application goes below. If you click on the button, it will show you all the datagrid data, plus the ID of the combobox when changed.
    Thanks again,
    Gines

  • How to get the value of a variable in FOX?

    Hi,
    In the FOX program how to get the value of a variable defined in planning area?
    can anyone give me some sample code?
    thanks

    Adding to the last reply,
    you can use VARI(variable) to get the count of the values.
    In the latest version of BPS, you may also use the following new foreach construct:
    FOREACH var IN VARIABLE  variable_id.

    In Acrobat, I can get the metadata by "this.metadata".

  • How to get the parent of a component in fx?

    Here is an example:
    Index.fx:
    Stage {
        title: "Online book library";
        width: 1024
        height: 768
        scene:Scene {
        fill: Color.WHITE
        content: [
           banner ,
           login = Login{translateX:715 translateY:135}
    };Login.fx:
    var logOn : Button = Button {
            translateX:25 translateY: 170
            text: "Log On"
            font: Font {size:11 name: "Verdana Bold"}
            action: function() {
                showHello();
    function showHello(){
       // add a label in index.fx whose text is "welcome!";
        }I want to show something on the index.fx but I don't know how to get the parent from the child component?
    In Flex, we use parent or parentApplication, Is there a similar function in JavaFX?

    Reusing the same Tile example, I had no problems, I suppose I was doing wrong the first time:
    def IMAGES_WIDTH = 100;
    def IMAGES_HEIGHT = 100;
    var COLUMN_NB = 3;
    var ROW_NB = 3;
    var scene: Scene;
    var previews: Container;
    Stage
      title: "Test of Tile layout"
      scene: scene = Scene
        width: 500
        height: 500
        fill: Color.LAVENDER
        content:
          previews = Tile
            hgap: 10
            vgap: 10
            layoutX: bind (scene.width - previews.width) / 2
            layoutY: bind (scene.height - previews.height) / 2
            columns: COLUMN_NB
            content: for (i in [ 1 .. COLUMN_NB * ROW_NB ])
              ImageView
                id: "IV{i}"
                image: Image
                  url: "{__DIR__}clock.gif"
                  width: IMAGES_WIDTH
                  preserveRatio: true
                onMousePressed: Hide
    function Hide(evt: MouseEvent): Void
      println("{evt.node} ({evt.node.id}) - {evt.node.parent}");
      var nm: Node = evt.node.parent.lookup("IV5"); // Middle node
      nm.visible = false;
      var ntl: Node = evt.node.parent.lookup("IV1"); //Top left node
      (ntl as ImageView).viewport = Rectangle2D { height: IMAGES_WIDTH/2, width: IMAGES_WIDTH/2 };
      (evt.node.parent as Tile).hgap = 20; // Strange effect, but works
    }
