Go to settings, general, Siri and make sure it is turned on. Then press and hold the home button and Siri should pop up.

How does that even fly for a logical reason or explanation for this stupidity? You are absolutely right that a car built to have 260 horsepower will have no more than 260 horsepower. If the newer model is given 300 horse then by golly it will have 300 horsepower. You can choose to upgrade your engine in some way to get 300 horsepower at your expense. The same cannot be said about apple and their iproducts which can never be upgraded. Which is why I am completely confused about your comparison. The auto industry is a far stretch from a technology related company. Software upgrades are what people count on when they purchase a technology based product to keep their device going. A basic concept in computing. In other words, Apple's to oranges mon ami! When you purchase a product from a company that claims they are revolutionary, you read and you know that the products are capable in comparison to other products made by the same company and yet they consciously make garbage decisions like not allowing Siri on a device that is more than capable (iPad 2), then something is wrong with the relationship. A paying customer deserves and is surely entitled to a proper explanation from the manufacturer. That's what a consumer driven company is required to do. After all they are nothing without their isheep. They are responsible to their consumers just as they are to their shareholders and board members. It's simply a matter of principle.

Help. My old @us.army.mil email address was terminated by the army. I used that address to register my first apple id account on my iPad. I can't remember my original Apple ID number and if I ask to reset my password, Apple sends the reset link to my old non-working email address. I have a new gmail address and a new Apple ID number associated with that address. How do I get my iPad to use my new gmail address and new apple ID number? Remember, I can't log out of my old account because I can't remember the password. Amd Apple will only reset the password by sending a link to my old, non functioning army email account. Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can only locate your device when it is logged into iCloud and 'Find My Phone' is enabled, additionally the device will need to be switched on and connected to a wifi or cellular network.
Unfortunately, you cannot activate iCloud or 'Find My Phone' remotely.

You are probably going to have to sign out of/turn off Messages on the phone and the iPad and then start all over again and enable messages on the phone first so that the number is accessible again to use on the iPad in Settings>Messages>Send and Receive at>You can be reached by iMessages at. You need to be able to select your phone number in there.
