How to handle outdated packages from repo by own hand ?

Hi
I would like to have packages that I use frequently to be fresh - for example - Krusader is 1.70.0 in arch but there is pretty stable beta - 1.80.0beta2 the same thing with gmpc/libmpd/qtcurve-kde3|gtk2 - these packages are outdated. My question is how to handle this in good way ? I mean make PKGBUILDs in /var/aur/local but what if package in repo will be updated ? I simply don't want to wait for these packages because I've chosed ARCH for no outdated packages but now I see there are some... Anyone have a good advice for me ? Now when I make my own PKGBUILDs of these packages with every pacman -Syu I get error: package-name is newer than package in [repo] bla bla bla

try one of the aur build script proggies, they compare the aur to the current in the repositories I think?
Have you tried putting the packages like krusader on the ignorepkg list in pacman.conf?

  • How to remove a package from package structure?

    Hello profs,
    i have a problem. I add a package 'A' to another package 'B' in the package builder.
    Now i don't know how to remove package 'A' from the list of package 'B'.
    I have not found in the docu of package builder how to remove a package from the included list.
    Has somebody an idea how to do it?
    Thanks a lot.

    I found out that the relation between the packages saved in table TDEVC.
    Field PARENTCL contains the surrounding package 'B' of the package 'A' field DEVCLASS.
    At the moment the only way to remove the package is to modify the table.
    But i look for another possibility for this issue.

    First you have to create create dblink in A1 database as below
    CREATE DATABASE LINK INSA1
       CONNECT TO USER_NAME IDENTIFIED BY <pass>
       USING 'B!' Then you can execute exec pack_b@INSA1;

    i have the file     sudo-1.7.2p3.tar    on a disk and i need to know how to install a package from a cd, what lines do i need to type to install it?:|

    If you are running as root, you can execute that command as ../../b43-fwcutter-011/b43-fwcutter -w "$FIRMWARE_INSTALL_DIR" wl_apsta.o and there is no need for sudo.
    Btw, what wireless card is this? Have you tried searching for a pacman package for it?
    To access the cd drive, use the mount command. Enter man mount to read the manual. (I assume you do not have a graphical environment set up yet.)

  • How to call a package from within a package

    How would I call a package from within a package and pass variables to it. For instance I am trying to pass variables to a log package from another package when a user inserts or updates a table

    First, technical questions need to be addressed to one of the technical forums. Products | Database | SQL & PL/SQL would be appropriate for this question. Please direct any followup to that forum.
    Second, you cannot call a package; a package is a collection of stored procedures and functions. You can call a packaged function or procedure from another package simply by specifying the package name and the procedure
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE pkgA
    AS
      PROCEDURE callPkgB;
    END;
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE BODY pkgA
    AS
      CREATE PROCEDURE callPkgB
      AS
      BEGIN
        pkgB.someProcedure( 'Some argument' );
      END callPkgB;
    END pkgA;In general, any packaged procedure can be called by specifying the schema, package, and procedure name, i.e.
    EXEC mySchema.myPackage.myProcedurethough the schema and package can be omitted if the calling procedure is in the same schema or package.

  • How call procedure or package from Oracle BI Publisher 10.1.3.2.1

    Hi Gurus,
    I need to call a procedure or package from Oracle BI Publisher 10.1.3.2.1 by passing parameters, I do it because it would be easier to fill a table as the report that asks for is too complex (8 breaks, 5 dblinks, 20 tables, etc).
    I'm not using the Oracle XML. Review include the following solutions:
    Re: Stored procedures and dynamic columns
    Re: Is it possible to use Stored Procedures in BI Publisher GUI?
    Re: PL/SQL Stored Procedure w/ XML Template?
    But none of them useful for me was the level of complexity.
    Best regards.

    Hi Vetsrini,
    I write the sentence as it showed in the previous thread
    select from whc_kk_v2.whc_p_kk_publisher (pv_msgerror =>: msgerror,*
    pv_pro1 =>: prov_1,
    pv_pro2 =>: prov_2)
    run when I get the error BIP
    ORA-00933: SQL command not properly ended
    Show me I'm doing wrong, or who may be causing the error. I tried everything but does not leave, please your help.

  • How to handle discontinuing operations from BCS?

    Hi All,
    I would like to find out how BCS handle scenario on 'Discontinuing operations' so that information pertaining to discontinuing operations and continuing operations can be clearly distinguish in Income statement and Cash Flow report.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Jasmine

    Jasmine,
    I mean an infoobject that plays the role of a flag. For example it might be CHAR 1 or NUMC 1 infoobject. If it's value EQ to 0 or not set - it's usual operation. If its = 1 (or -1) - then it's discontinued.
    In the report you'll place usual items into report twice, restricting them by 0 in one case (usual operations) and by 1 in another set of values (discontinued operations).
    Certainly your feeder system should supply the amount of this flag.
    In general, I think a separate set of items Iwithout a flag infoobject) for discontinued operations is preferrable.

  • How do I stop Firefox from opening its own homepage tab on top of my homepage?

    Firefox keeps opening up its own website in my browser on top of my own home page even though I have reset the home page numerous times. Everytime I open firefox I have to reset my home page which works for a half-day or so and then ... we're back to the Firefox homepage. How do I keep Firefox from hijacking my browser?
    P.S. I've tried all the stuff that's recommended -- resetting my homepage, etc ... and I'm just getting tired of having to do this. This is getting so irritating I'm going to stop using Firefox and start using another browser.

    I am having a similar problem, I'm using "Show my home page" on start-up but firefox decides to always open to the last page visited regardless. I also generally close Firefox using the red X or with alt+f4. This problem is especially annoying when the last page 'visited' is an annoying pop-up ad that wasn't been caught by the pop-up blocker.

  • How to retrieve DB package from JDev custom context menu

    Hi everyboby,
    I have a question, sorry in advance if it sounds dumb .
    In my JDev project I declaratively added a context menu to a database package (<folder type="PACKAGE">...) . It's to say when log in to a DB and you click on a package you can see the defined custom menu.
    Here is the structure of my custom menu added in the package context menu:
    -MyMenu
         -MySubMenu
    Programmaticaly, I managed to open a JFrame by affecting MySubMenu a java class file (<item className="OpenJFrame"><title>MySubMenu</title></item> for instance) which is in charge of creating the JFrame. Now if I click on MySubMenu a window opens.
    This window simply contains a button "commit package - svn".
    There comes my struggle. The opened window would let me press the button and commit the content of the package but I can't find how to retrieve the name or even the content of the previously clicked package.
    I tried to add a listener to the button and searched for the parent but I miserably failed to access the package.
    Do you have any idea on how I can perform this?
    Thank you.

    Hi',
    I think you are trying to do this "select empName from emp where empID=$empid" and the $empid should dynamically come.

  • How to Delete complete package from R/3

    Hello Friends,
    I've deleted all the subojects of a package and then tried to delete the package name.
    But still i'm getting a message stating still the package contains subobjects.
    Please guide me how i can proceed further.
    Thanks in advance!
    Best Regards
    Prasad

    Hello Prasad
    If you have plenty of obsolete TADIR entries to delete then I would suggest to write a simple ABAP
    PARAMETERS:
      p_devc     TYPE devc   default '<name of your obsolete package>'.
    START-OF-SELECTION.
      SELECT * FROM tadir INTO gs_tadir
        WHERE obj_name NE '<name of your obsolete package>'
        AND       devclass = '<name of your obsolete package>'.
         DELETE tadir FROM gs_tadir.
         " NOTE: Be very careful not to delete other TADIR entries !!!
      ENDSELECT.
    COMMIT WORK.
    Or you could edit table TADIR using transaction SE16N (should not be a problem on the DEV system).

  • How to handle Lov event from Advanced Table

    hi all,
    I have requirement like I need to return 5 items from lov RN and need to bind them with curresponding 5 coloumns in advanced table which is diplaying fine,
    but once clicked on 'Add New Row' button values from the privious row is getting null/disappearing. All the items in advanced table are binded with proper view Attribute.
    Please let me know why it is behaving so? and kindly give the solution also how can I handle this.

    Hi,
    The columns on which you are returning the values must be messageStyledTexts Right??
    If yes, then you should know that read only fields are not able to hold values and hence the lov mappings gets lost when you click on Add New Row button.
    To avoid this.
    For 5 columns, create 5 form Values and bind the same View Attribute to them as to the columns.
    Now in the LOV also create 5 mappings for form values same as you have created for table columns.
    This way it should work.
    Thanks,
    Gaurav

  • How to transfer whole Package from CRM to R/3

    hello
    i have to transfer our WebApplication (complete package in SE80) from CRM 4.0 to R/3 4.7. There are a lot of htm sites, structures, z-tables, data elements, and many more things that are inside this WebApplication. I'm not sure but i'm thinking that it doesn't work with a transport request, but maybe there is a possibility to download e.g. a structure from CRM and to upload (CREATE) it in R/3 with an (existing) ABAP programm.
    Maybe this possibility also exist's for htm-sites and
    z-tables ....
    many thanks for help

    Hello Astrit,
    why shouldn't it be possible to transport? CRM 4.0 and R/3 4.7 are running both on WebAS 6.20. So try a Transport. It should work.
    Regards

  • How to build a package from local files?

    I have a couple of git projects cloned on my hd which I'd like to package. Now, it seems unneccessary to make a tarball of the files and move it to the build directory.... I've also tried to add the path to the source dir as the source line -- source=("/path/to/repo/*"), but that doesn't work either.
    what's the correct way to do this?

    Not quite, but close enough, I suppose. I have a ~/src tree and a ~/pkg tree, and my original question was -- to be more precise -- if I can tell makepkg, directly or in the PKGBUILD, to look in a certain folder in the src tree for the files to use for the pkg. I guess I can symlink to the ~/src directory. Thanks for the pointer.
