How to hide complete row having zero values

Hi All,
I have a requirement in my rtf template.
I have different amount fields in my rtf template.If my output contains all amount as zeros in a single row then i should skip this row.(that menas it should not display that complete row in my output.).
Could anyone please help me out.
Thanks in Advance,
Dhana

Hi,
You can create a variable named show_row which is set to yes if all your conditions returns true.
Then you make a check on your variable before the first column of your table and end it after the last column.
<?foreach...?><?if:show_row='yes'?>column1 column2 .... <?end if?><?end foreach?>

You can add one more condition.
For columns:

• How to hide selected rows on Dashboard

Hello.
Assume there is table having about 10 rows. The goal is to let the user select random rows, click on them and make them disappear from the dashboard.
The user wants to export the dashboard to PDF but each time he needs to hide some of the table rows before export is done. There is no rule which rows should be hidden and which should be visible - user selects rows randomly, based on his current needs (or maybe based on the current weather and his grandmother shoe size, i don't know.)
Is there a way to achieve this?
Thanks for your help.
Kuba

First the quick answer: no, you can't select a row and make it disappear. But depending on how many columns are in the report and whether every instance of a certain type of row needs to be deleted, you can try this:
I'll take the worst case scenario. Every column in the report can have multiple values that need to be excluded.
1) Build multi-select prompts on each column with the operand "not in/not equal to."
2) Put "Is prompted" on all the columns.
When the user discovers a value in a column that makes him want to get rid of that row (and all rows with that value), he can select it in the prompt. When he hits the "Go" button, the prompts will filter out all those rows.
If each row is completely independent of all other rows, then you're out of luck. I would say, download the report in Excel. Delete rows, then convert to pdf.

I have created a report using CJE1 (Report painter). When I execute the report, it only shows WBS that have values. How do I display WBS elements that do NOT have values? i.e. display items with zero values. I'm certain there is a setting either within report painter or forms...

• How to suppress records that contain zero values

Dear folks,
Please take a look at my query below. This is a sample query with only 6 columns but my actual query has about 70 columns. Basically I need to be able to suppress those rows where numerical values are zeros across a row. But even if one column has a value greater than zero, I need that row. The fact that you want to do this hints that this is a denormalized table, designed to make coding difficult and inefficient. A better design would be:
SELECT 'A' as org, 12 as val, 1 AS col_num FROM dual UNION ALL
SELECT 'A', 13, 2 FROM dual UNION ALL
SELECT 'A', 4, 3 FROM dual UNION ALL
SELECT 'A', 40, 4 FROM dual UNION ALL
SELECT 'A', 100, 5 FROM dual UNION ALL
...Then you could use the MAX function to see if any of them were greater than 0, regardless of how many there were.
with my_table as (
Select 'A' as org, 12 as val_1, 13 as val_2, 14 as val_3, 40 as val_4, 100 as val_5 from dual
union all
Select 'b' as org, 12 as val_1, 13 as val_2, 14 as val_3, 40 as val_4, 100 as val_5 from dual
union all
Select 'c' as org, 12 as val_1, 13 as val_2, 14 as val_3, 40 as val_4, 100 as val_5 from dual
union all
Select 'A' as org, 0 as val_1, 0 as val_2, 0 as val_3, 0 as val_4, 0 as val_5 from dual)
select * from my_table
where
( val_1 != 0 And val_2 != 0 and val_3 != 0 and val_4 != 0 and val_5 != 0)That shows the rows where ALL 5 of the columns are not 0.
If you want the rows where AT LEAST 1 of the columns are not 0, then use OR instead of AND.
!= means not equal to 0. You said you were interested in whether the columns were greater than 0, which is >=.

• How to accessing current row report column value in Lov Query?

Hi,
which access methods (eg. bind variables, substitutions, ...) for getting the current row report column value can be used in the "Lov Query" property of a report column?
As what I know of and what I have read on the forum there are no bind variables for the report columns. For the "Link Text" property it seems that the column values exist as substitution strings (#COLUMN_NAME#). But they don't work in the Lov Query. => And would be good because of a hard parse each time the Lov query is executed.
The following post (Re: Simulating a correlated sub query in lov
is showing a solution to use package variables for temporary storage of the referenced value, but the only problem with that solution is that if a new record is added with the "Add rows to tabular form" process the package variable still contains the value from the last queried row! Is there a way (variable, APEX package, ...) to determine if the lov query is executed for a new record so that the package can return null?
I know that I could write the package in a way that the value is immediately cleared when lov_pkg.keyval is called (one time read), but then I would have to create several variables if I'm accessing the value multiple times in the query or in another query => I think an one time read solution would be very obscurely.
Thanks for your help

http://inside-apex.blogspot.com

Hi Patrick,
I agree that it's a waste to continually use Ajax to go back to the server to get the contents of a dynamic select list.
There are no bind variables for any row item - but what you do have, as per my previous post, is the value of the data entered by the user in the first row. You can pass this into your application process (using get.add("VARIABLENAME", value)), which can use it to retrieve the correct LOV in your Ajax code - this will give you a "bind variable" that your process can use.
What you could do, however, is generate hidden select lists on your page - one for each possible LOV list and replace the contents of the new row's select list with the contents of the appropriate hidden select list. This is easy to do with javascript (using innerHTML functions). Obviously, though, the usefulness of this depends on the number and size of the select lists.
Even if you don't generate them to start with, you can keep a copy of any select lists returned by Ajax in the DOM for use on new rows. So, if you have retrieved a select list, you will have a copy of it in DOM which you can then copy into the new row. If you don't have the list in DOM, use Ajax to get it, store a copy of it and copy it into the new row.
Which method you use will depend on the number/size of select lists needed. If they are few in number and/or size, I would suggest generating hidden lists. If they are large, use Ajax to get them once, store them and then retrieve them from the DOM when needed.
There is another thread here where Arie recommends going to the server every time to make sure you get the most up-to-date data for the lists. If you want to follow this advice, for this reason, use get.add("VARIABLENAME", value) to pass the value to your process. If this is not an issue, you can use one of the other methods I outlined above.

Andy

Please follow basic Netiquette and post the DDL we need to answer this. Follow industry and ANSI/ISO standards in your datC1. You should follow ISO-11179 rules for naming data elements. You do not know this IT standard.
You should follow ISO-8601 rules for displaying temporal datC1. We need to know the data types, keys and constraints on the table. Avoid dialect in favor of ANSI/ISO Standard SQL.
And you need to read and download the PDF for:
https://www.simple-talk.com/books/sql-books/119-sql-code-smells/
>> I have a table AS claim_data AS below. <<
Thanks to your lack of netiquette, we have no name, no DDL, no keys and have to re-type the raw data into SQL, guess at everything! Does your boss treat you with the same contempt?
Think about how silly “_data” is AS an attribute property! What tables do you have without an data in them? You had to give this meta-data in 1970's operating systems, FORTRAN compilers, etc. but we do not do this today. I see you use “A”, “B”, etc for table
aliases This is the name of the disk or tape drive in a 1970 computer! In SQL we use helpful, meaningful table aliases so code is easier to maintain. I see you also use the old punch card trick of putting a comma at the front of each line of code.
The column named “ord” is a mathematical fiction for ordinal sets. I think you meant to use it as a non-relational sequential number to let you keep writing 1970's COBOL is T-SQL. We have not used the old Sybase ISNULL() since we got COALESCE() in SQL-92. They
are actually different.
First, let's post what you should have posted if you followed forum rules:
CREATE TABLE Claims
(claim_id CHAR(5) NOT NULL,
claim_amount DECIMAL (8,2) NOT NULL
CHECK (claim_amount >= 0.00),
change_month_name CHAR(10) NOT NULL
REFERENCES Month_Period(month_name),
creation_month_name CHAR(10) NOT NULL
REFERENCES Month_Period(month_name),
ord INTEGER NOT NULL, -- NO!! Awful design!
PRIMARY KEY (claim_id, ord)); --required by definition
Since SQL is a database language, we prefer to do look ups and not calculations. They can be optimized while temporal math messes up optimization. A useful idiom is a report period calendar that everyone uses so there is no way to get disagreements in the DML.
The report period table gives a name to a range of dates that is common to the entire enterprise.
CREATE TABLE Month_Periods
(month_name CHAR(10) NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY
CHECK (month_name LIKE '[12][0-9][0-9][0-9]-[01][0-9]-00'),
month_start_date DATE NOT NULL,
month_end_date DATE NOT NULL,
CONSTRAINT date_ordering
CHECK (month_start_date <= month_end_date),
etc);
These report periods can overlap or have gaps. I like the MySQL convention of using double zeroes for months and years, That is 'yyyy-mm-00' for a month within a year and 'yyyy-00-00' for the whole year. The advantages are that it will sort with the ISO-8601
data format required by Standard SQL and it is language independent. It has been proposed for the Standard, but is not yet part of it. The regular expression pattern for validation is simple.
INSERT INTO Claims -- a mess!
VALUES
('054511', 300.00, '2013-04-00', '2013-04-00', 1)
('054511', 0.00, '2013-05-00', '2013-04-00', 2),
('120301', 250.00, '2015-02-00', '2015-02-00', 1),
('120624', 150.00, '2015-02-00', '2015-02-00', 1),
('120624', 0.00, '2015-03-00', '2015-02-00', 2);
Now, throw this mess out. It looks like your repeat the claim creation date over and over and over. It looks like you crammed a claim creation and a claim history together in one table.
>> I want to isolate rows which appear in the table and do a update using below query (This query is already in a procedure, so I just looking for a suitable way to modify it to support my task).
In the above e.g. ONLY row containing claim_id = '120301' needs to update (amount AS updated_amount)
>> I use following query, but it update other rows as well, I want a suitable query only to capture rows of nature claim_id = '120301' and do this update? <<
No. SQL is set oriented so an update applies to the whole table. You can filter out rows in a WHERE clause.
CREATE TABLE Claims
(claim_id CHAR(5) NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY,
claim_amount DECIMAL (8,2) NOT NULL
CHECK (claim_amount >= 0.00),
claim_creation_month_name CHAR(10) NOT NULL
REFERENCES Month_Period(month_name));
See how this works?
INSERT INTO Claims -- a mess!
VALUES
('054511', 300.00, '2013-04-00'),
('120301', 250.00, '2015-02-00'),
('120624', 150.00, '2015-02-00');
Normalize the table:
CREATE TABLE Claim_Changes
(claim_id CHAR(5) NOT NULL
REFERENCES Claims(claim_id)
ON DELETE CASCADE,
change_month_name CHAR(10) NOT NULL
REFERENCES Month_Period(month_name),
PRIMARY KEY (claim_id, change_month_name),
change_amount DECIMAL (8,2) NOT NULL
CHECK (change_amount >= 0.00)
INSERT INTO Claims_Changes
VALUES
('054511', 0.00, '2013-05-00'),
('120624', 0.00, '2015-03-00');
Now you just add another change row to the history. There is no update. If you want to the delta and so forth, use LAG() and other window functions.

hi Eswar,
List the columns for which if there is no data, you want to suppress section details and section name.
1) Select 'Section on: Field'. Go to Properties tab.
2) Display -> 'Hide section when the following are empty' . click on the Right side drop down.
3) select (Check Mark) the appropriate columns which you have listed.
3rd step is very important as it will decide to display section name or not.
Please try it again.

I want to hide a field that is calculated (sum of two other fields) and shows as 0.00 - How can I hide 0.00 until this field is calculated? I am using Adobe Acrobat Professional 8.
Thanks!

You have to use a custom calculation script, something like:
// Get field values, as numbers
var v1 = +getField("Text1").value;
var v2 = +getField("Text2").value;
// Perform the addition
var sum = v1 + v2;
// Set this field value
if (sum !== 0) {
event.value = sum;
} else {
// Blank this field
event.value = "";
Or equivalently:
// Get field values, as numbers
var v1 = +getField("Text1").value;
var v2 = +getField("Text2").value;
// Set this field value
event.value = ((v1 + v2) !== 0) ? (v1 + v2) : "";
This code assumes the input fields have a numeric Format category. Replace "Text1" and "Text2" with the names of your fields.
