How to hide drilldown field from a OAF page.
Hi,
I have a requirement to hide few drilldown fields from one of the seeded OAF page. through personalization I am able to hide all the fields except the drilldown fields. Can anyone tell me why I cannot hide a drilldown field using personalization. Is there any other way to achieve it other then extending the controller.

You can assign a maintenance attribute P to individual fields in the maintenance view definition in the Dictionary (SE11). It can be H (hidden)
H (hidden)
A field flagged H is not displayed on the screen. This field must also be filled in the background by a routine at an event.
The system writes R and H fields to the database like all other fields when a new data record is saved. -
How to hide the field from the view in the webdynpro application?

I got a requirement where in which ,default layout has the field name Time.......To......... which is (2 input box ) and one lable assigned to the container.........
Now my requirement is to hide this field from the layout for all cases of leave......(all types of leave)....
I got a few inputs from forum that we can achieve this by implementing the following steps..........
Create In context => Value attribute => Say Visibility
Go to its properties
Select com.sap.ide.webdynpro.uielementdefinitions.Visibility
In View Layout
Select UI Element Set Visible property to this context variable Visibility.
In wdDoModifyView() You can set this property to false
wdContext.currentContextElement().setVisibility(false);
Can you people tell me where to create the value attribute........
In the view context or in the component context...........
and field that am talking about is assign to the container you want me to assign this context variable property to all ......Like to input box ,label and the container..........
Please calrify this ASAP...........

As per your guidelines I have created the value attribute in View context (which has the field..... which needs to be hide)inside the value node say FieldVisibility.......and attribute name OldTimeDuration......and I set this value with uidefeneitions Visibility .......
and I bind this vaule with the field property visible(Time.......To..........)which I need to hide...........
Now in the view implementation tab ..........I have coded in the doinit method(since my requirement to hide the field from the layout in all cases).........
wdContext.currentFieldVisibilityElement().setOldTimeDuration(WDVisibility.NONE);
But if I deploy the application and see still am getting the same field dispalying in the screen.........
I even tried putting this code in wdmodifyview method.........same results........
Kindly tell me how to hide the field permenantly from the screen............(without any conditions.)

}This script i am calling on, onchange() for the select list item P3_CHANNEL and it is working fine.
But i have a create button and cancel button.
After filling the details in the required columns, when i click the create button, if any validation errors are there.. the page is re-rendered. while doing that the hidden items are getting displayed back.
Tried Solutions:
1. I created a same function once more and in the last added the doSubmit('CREATE') and called the script from the create button.
At that time the hidden fields labels are getting displayed.
2. I created a process On load before header To call this script on a condition :REQUEST = 'CREATE'
Then also fruitless..
I hope now it is clear....

How to create a field in an OAF page which sums two fields in the same page.
Hi,
In the HRMS appraisal page, I have two fields in different regions.
1. One field shows the total score of the competencies.
2. Another field shows the total scores of the objectives.
The problem with the appraisal total score is it returns only the rating level id. (It does not take decimal values)
Hence I want to add the above two fields which is displayed in the same page and show as a new field in the top of the page as the final appraisal score.
[Something similar to what is mentioned in the metalink document 1315431.1 ]
We are in 11.5.10.2.
I am new to OAF and have no idea as to how to achieve the above step. Can anyone guide me in doing it?

Went through the steps to do a VO substitution.
But normally in all the examples given the page will belong to the application where we are modifying.
Eg. in this case the "about this page" shows /oracle/apps/fnd/wf/worklist/webui/NotifDetailsPG
This is coming under fnd top where all the appraisal VOs and other pages comes under PER_TOP.
Should I bring all the files from FND_TOP of the server to my PC where jdev is installed.
I have already taken all the files under $PER_TOP to my PC.

How to add new fields to a OAF page on iRecruitment
Hello All,
I am in the process of extending one of the pages in iRec to add couple of fields (Readonly). I have setup the JDEV environment on my PC.
We are on 11i.10CU2 on Linux. I have the page VO information from "About Page".
What are the files that I need to bring down from Linux middle tier to my PC? I have downloaded the whole $JAVA_TOP/oracle/apps/per/irc directory structure to my PC under myclasses directory and when I try to open the server.xml I get errors saying that "Unable to find the referenced object". But whereas those files exists in the location.
I am pretty new to OA Framework extensions and would appreciate any help regarding this issue. *** If any of you have any documents explaining step-by-step or something that would point me to the correct direction , I would appreciate your help verymuch ***

The fields that I wanted to add are not in the VO, so, it can not be done thru personalization.
I have new query and I need to extend the existing query to replace the new one. And thru personalization , I will add those new fields that I just included in the VO on the screen.
Steps that I took are:
1. FTP'd the whole directory structure from linux $JAVA_TOP/oracle/apps/per/irc..... to my PC to C:\JDEV\...\myclasses\oracle\apps\per\irc
2. Opened the file server.xml from Jdeveloper from C:\JDEV\...\myclasses\oracle\apps\per\irc\candidateSelfService\server\server.xml
*** I Get the error here *** Unable to open the referenced object *** for a lot of files. I saw in couple of posts that the files from $PER_TOP/mds/ also needed to ftp'd to PC to myprojects.
Is there anything else that I need to bring down from server?
And if you could please list the steps that I need to take to extend a VO to subsitute the original that would help me a lot!

Is it possible to launch a form from an OAF page using OAF Personalization
In R11, the Customer Standard form ARXCUDCI was customized to call a custom block from the Address screen. In R12 the customer standard form has become an OAF page. We have decided to create a custom form for the custom block using Oracle Developer. However we need a mechanism to call this custom form from the Customer Standard OAF page.
My query is if it is possible to call a custom form from an OAF page using OAF personalization only (i.e. without directly customizing the code of the OAF page)

I have made some progress.
I have open the Customers OAF Page, queried a customer, selected a site and opened it.
Then chose Personalize "Account Site Address"
There I added a Button on the Header Address level
ID=XXTVL_LASSY_BUTTON
Populated the Additional Text and Prompt properties.
Also set Destination URI=form:SYSADMIN:SYSTEM_ADMINISTRATOR:STANDARD:FND_FNDMNMNU.
The button is now showing in the address page, and when I click on it it opens the seeded Menu form.
I now have to create the custom form and set Destination URI to the Custom Form.
I am also aware how to add parameters to Destination URI.
But could you let me know how to read the value from a OAF page form field and reference it in Destination URI.
I need the value of PARTY_SITE_ID of the Address OAF page.
Alternatively, the Site Number is displayed on the OAF page. If I can read it that will also do. I can use the Site Number in the custom form rather than PARTY_SITE_ID

How i hide a field of a custom view in OAF 11
Hi, im a new developer of OAF11.
What should I do, to customize the Purchase Order screen, if then the requirement is to hide the field that i insert from extended VO.
What I did was modify the XML of the page to add the field and then extended the original AM.
I added the extended view into the custom AM to prevent that fail with the field that i insert.
I must clarify that I modify the path of AM default for the path of the custom AM in the XML, then i upload the XML with the command import, and i see it the field in the page.
I tried to hide another field that i created by customizing the page, but I couldnt do. That´s why i insert directly the field in the XML original.
I Try to customize the driver involved with the page, but nothing happened.
First try it on the controller Father and after the son.
The page is in the POS module (iSupplier), and is POSVIEWPOG (PO Details).
The code that attempts to hide the field is:

How to hide input fields on selection screen using variant attribute
Hello all,
I want to know how to hide input fields on selection screen using variant attribute conpletely.
As you know, when setting the attribute of variant "Hide field" checked, the field is temporarily hidden, but when clicking "All Selections(F7)" button on the selection screen, the fileds become appeared.
I want to hide the field completely. Di you know how to do ?

Hideki KozaiUse this attribute hide field and save the variant. Then create transaction for this program setting default variant for parameter Start with variant . The user who runs it will have it by defualt set.
Otherwise
in PBO simply use LOOP at screen and output = 0 for this field. This will ensure that field is invisible in any case.

If you are using 5.1 the HIDDEN Yes functionality works on the Location field. The proper container for the Master Agreement is contracts.contract.ui.buyside.default and for Agreements it is contracts.agreement.ui.buyside.default.
Keep in mind that this field is required and passed into this field from the user object so you will have to maintain data on the user object.
But on a 5.1 system the page customization works.

How to hide document fields in Bid Invitation
While creating Bid invitation I need to hide some fields e.g. Attachements, upload a document, description, button Search & Add. These fields are available under tab Header data -> Documents.
BADI 'BBP_UI_CONTROL_BADI' works to hide Bid Invitation Basic data, but not for above.
Can anybody let me know how to hide above fields.

How to remove sender name in field "From" in Notification page
I would like to remove name ( LIUNI, ANTONIO_ ) (bold text and underline) from message and field "From" in notification page.
I have 2 problems below:
1.) This message "_*LIUNI, ANTONIO*_ has completed their appraisal of KERINS, ANNE MARY"
Should change to "A multirater has completed their appraisal of KERINS, ANNE MARY"
2.) Field From, must be blank: From: LIUNI, ANTONIO_ -> From: <Blank>
It call standard workflow HRSSA.
Please provide me coding in controller to set item attribute values in field "From" to blank and remove sender name in message+

Horzontal and Vertical Lines won't get thinner then 1pt
