How to identify different environments (Self Service)

Hi
with Forms, we can set site level profile option for sitename, and this will display PROD, TEST, DEV etc.
Is there anyway we can do this with the self service side of Apps ?
Or, does anybody have any other ways to tell user which environment they are connected to ?
Many thanks

Hi Hussein
thanks for the reply. However, as you know, this applies to individual pages and has to be applied for every individual self service page.
I want to be able to do this for ALL pages in the same way as you can do with the site profile opition for forms.
I dont want users to have to personalize their pages.
Thanks

  • How to identify different connections/clients from RMIServer???

Anyone knows how one can do to identify different connections or clients from the implementation/server-object in RMI?? Do I have to send a hostname from the client via method parameter?? If so, any recommendations on which unique name to use??
Would really appreciate any answer to this!!! - thanx in advance!
ps; tried currentThread.getName(), but it would return different names from same client (changing at each call).
    /Alejandro

    Hi,
in order to identify clients I maintain a hash with references to
the clients. The clients register and unregister with special
remote methods of the server RMI object.
I didn't see an API in RMI to do this for me. And it was fairly easy to implement.

    Hi,
    1) What folder is the standard SSHR module contained? $PER_TOP
    2) which files should I copy from the old server? You will need to check what custom database objects you have and move it. For forms/reports, check under the product module and copy the files.
    3) iSetup is also apply to the 11i ?Yes.

  • How to identify different users on a network

I have a program that is currently located on a server and is being used by a number of different people. I am trying to get the jfilechooser to be able to remember a current directory from session to session, basically the last directory a given user opened a file from.
My problem is that each user will have a different current directory (usually on their desktop) at any given time. Is there a way to identify the user so that jfilechooser can have the correct current directory?
    Thanks

    i would imagine so
as long as you have a username to identify each user (i.e. they login), you can lookup their personal preferences however you like

  • How to Identity Self service transactions in HRMS.

    Hi,
I wanted to create the sql report only for the transactions which are being updated or corrected by self service page only. I would like to know how can I capture only self service transactions when I modify personal Information in HRMS self service page.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Mangesh

    Try with the below tables:
There are 3 temporary tables that hold data for entries made in SSHR until the approval cycle is complete
    1) HR_API_TRANSACTIONS
    2) HR_API_TRANSACTIONS_STEPS
    3) HR_API_TRANSACTIONS_VALUES
But the data from the above tables are deleted once the transaction is complete.
The data is moved to these tables.

  • Self–Service Home Page

    Hi All,
    Basic WF Question
How can I reach the Self-Service homepage?
I have OraDB 10g, WF 2.6.3 Server, Midtier and Client + the HTTP Server installed on the same XP machine.
In the admin guide, it is referred to the Workflow Administrator Web Applications. I cannot seem to find this anywhere. What steps need to be taken?
    Thank you

    Hi Hari,
    Basically there are 2 parts:
    1) Customizing in the backend (IMG) > Homepage Framework (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005vp/helpdata/en/aa/9f75620a8d4a2e9181db37f2fa2a62/frameset.htm)
    2) Define the worksets, pages and iviews in the portal (copy them
This homepage framework is called Self Service Homepage (or XSS Homepage Framework).

  • EM self Service interface integration with WebCenter Portal

    Hi,
I just have a question from my customer which is: how we can integrate the Self Service interface from EM 12c into WebCenter portal? Did anyone tried this before ? how easy was that and what steps are required?
    Thanks

Search also uses an absolute path, so it will need to start from /sp:Site/sp:RootWeb.
There is also the option of making the search recursive or not.
One way to explore how the simple search works, is to create a new JSF JSP page, and then to first drop the data control's search method onto that page and take Parameters > ADF Parameter Form. Click OK to accept any defaults. Now drop the return of the search method onto the same page, and drop it as, say, an ADF read-only table, again click ok to accept all the columns.
Now follow the documented steps that you need to do to make this runnable (i.e. adding the sharepoint library), and run the page.
When you run the page, you'll be able to explore possible values for input path's and search strings to see how it behaves. I suggest you start by searching in a small Document Library, so you can familiarise yourself with how it is working.
So, suppose you have a SharePoint Document Library called TestDocuments, then its path should look like:
    /sp:Site/sp:RootWeb/sp:Lists/TestDocuments/sp:Files
then enter true for "isRecursive" and suppose you have a document in this library named MyTestDocument.doc, then try looking for a name pattern MyTest%.
Also, you can go back to your getItems page - the one that is displaying the whole repository as a tree - and use that to find what the absolute paths are to your data. You'll need to supply that absolute path as the starting point for your searches.

  • OTL & Self Service Module on internet

    Hi,
We are using OTL and self service module in R12.1.3/11gr2. We are looking to deploy OTL and Self Service to be on Internet but other modules are not like GL etc. Employee don't need to come secure office connection and do their work or submit time sheet etc. Please point me if any ML document or presentation , how to configure OTL and Self service module on internet.

    Hi,
All you have to do is assign the profile Responsibility Trust Level to a responsibility which users want to access outside the secured area.
Make sure the value is External for this profile.
If you want to give access to only a set of functions under a responsibility, then you will have to create a new responsibility.
    Cheers,

    Hello everybody.
I would like to know how the documents created in Self-service procurement are sent to the supplier , can I use SUS for it?

    Hi
Yes it is possible to use the documents .
It's better to maintain two seperate systems - SUS and EBP.

  • HCM Self Services FPM Webdynpro Portal PCD - Selfservice Properties

    Hi,
we have different FPM/Self-service scenarios installed.
With FPM it's possible to define some FPM application using existing visual and non visual components from SC ESS or MSS.
    The problem:
we tried to define a new FPM-application in PCD having FPM-Views (visual components) from standard (e.g. teamviewer/TMV) and a new self developped one.
    FPM-App-Customer
    --> FPM-View-MSS/TMV (having FPM-View-Properties)
    --> FPM-View-Customer
FPM-App-Customer get's instantiated in WD-IView in Portal, and normally mentioned FPM-View-Properties can be definied in an IView-Property-Category named Self-Services.
Within our IView there is no Property-Category Self-Service, even if the Properties from MSS/TMV are visible in FPM-View.
What are the preconditions to enable the input of Self-Service Properties in IView?
    Thanx, A.Lorinser

    Unfortunatedly no.
    We never got an answer.
Instead of using tmv vc, we decided to develop new vc, which embedds oadp-view directly.

  • How to enable fnd log in self service page

    Hello,
In professional forms, we can enable fnd log using the profile options "FND: Debug Log Enabled" to Yes and "FND: Debug Log Level" to different levels.
Similarly, can we do the same with Self Service page? how and where can i see the log results? Also when i'm running the selfservice page from jDeveloper, is there any possibility to see the entire log?
I need to track why i'm unable to run a page from jdeveloper and i need to track the log.
Thank you all for the help in advance.
    kK

    Hi,
To Enable to Log for a self service page click on 'Diagnostics' link avaible at the Upper Right corner of the page. Now from the Diagnostic poplist select the 'Show Log On Screen' then select the log level and save.
Now you perform your fucntional steps all the log messages you will be able to see at the bottam of the page.

  • How to achieve Incremental deployment of Code Files to different environments of windows azure using TFS and Visual Studio ?

    Hi
We are new to Windows azure and are developing a web application. In the beginning of the project , we have deployed complete code using Sitefinity Thunder to different environments which actually publish complete code. But now as we are in the middle of development
, we are just required to upload any new files created which can be quite less in numbers (1 or 2 or maybe few). Now if we deploy with thunder , it publishes all files and then deploys complete code which takes good amount of time. Hence we are thinking to
attach each Azure Cloud Service which is actually a different environment like staging, UAT to a TFS branch and then just check in code from local development machine to TFS and then deploy only checked in files to azure environment linked to TFS.
I hope this possible but if you can help send some links where I can see how to achieve this , that will be helpful.
Also I would like to know whether a single cloud service can be linked to a single TFS branch or multiple cloud service can be linked to a single TFS repository? Why I am asking is – because we want to deploy a checked in files revision number to a staging
cloud service and then will test there and then if everything works well then will be required to deploy these revision files to the next cloud UAT cloud service and then production cloud service. Please help.

    Hi,
We can use TFS to manage our azure cloud service application code, refer to the following to get more information about how to deploy sitefinity to azure.

  • OSB best practices to run business service on two different environments

    Hi.
I am using Service Bus 11gR1
Oracle Service Bus Version: [Oracle Service Bus L10N Dependencies 11.1 Fri Dec 4 17:43:22 EST 2009 ]
Oracle Weblogic Server Version: [WebLogic Server 10.3.5.0 Fri Apr 1 20:20:06 PDT 2011 1398638 ]
I deploy my OSB services on two different environments (development, production).
How to setup business service to run on two different environments without changing source (business service transport Endpoint URI)?
    Thanks in advance.

I am not sure of any tutorial.
For your case if you just have one URI and you want to change the URI for the business service you can simply use the OSB Customization file. This is straight forward.
If you have complex routing logic based on inputs fields ,you can follow the below steps,
Create a simple table with Business Service Name,Env and URI as columns.
Create a select DBAdapter to return the URI
Create a business svc out the DBAdapter files
Use the business service to fetch the URI and finally
Use the URI override( ref - http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/service-bus/learnmore/index.html)
