How to identify if the data is excel sheet is not on fixed column in SSIS package

Hi, I am using SSIS 2008 R2 in which my excel file is the source for data. I am using the "Excel Source" transformation. For the normal data feed and all it is working fine.
There is a requirement the data in the excel sheets are not static. For example think like, data may start from A1 Cell next it may be B1 or B2 and next time E1 or F2 like that. How to identify in which Cell the data is there to load to DB?
Kindly tell me whatever the possibilites are there ....

Hi ,
The mapping of SSIS packages cannot be modified at run time based on the input. Instead , you may consider to bring all the columns from excel into a staging table and figure out from where the data starts. Then load the destination table. If not
you need to think of creating the ssis package itself dynamically using .Net code based on the excel metadata.

I would recommend you to have a look at the VI attached. It makes use of a VI named 'Read from Spreadsheet' to read the row and column data from the tab delimited excel file. The read data is then searched for the Alphabet specified and finally returns you the corresponding string. The test file used to validate the operation of the VI is also attached.

How can i export the data to excel which has 2 tables with same number of columns & column names?

Hi everyone, again landed up with a problem.
After trying a lot to do it myself, finally decided to post here..
I have created a form in form builder 6i, in which on clicking a button the data gets exported to excel sheet.
It is working fine with a single table. The problem now is that i am unable to do the same with 2 tables.
Because both the tables have same number of columns & column names.
Below are 2 tables with column names:
Table-1 (MONTHLY_PART_1)
Table-2 (MONTHLY_PART_2)

So How can i export the data to excel which has 2 tables with same number of columns & column names?
Should i paste the code? Should i post this query in 'SQL and PL/SQL' Forum?

Direct Delta: With this update mode, the extraction data is transferred with each document posting directly into the BW delta queue. In doing so, each document posting with delta extraction is posted for exactly one LUW in the respective BW delta queues.
This update method is recommended for the following general criteria:
a) A maximum of 10,000 document changes (creating, changing or deleting documents) are accrued between two delta extractions for the application in question. A (considerably) larger number of LUWs in the BW delta queue can result in terminations during extraction.
b) With a future delta initialization, you can ensure that no documents are posted from the start of the recompilation run in R/3 until all delta-init requests have been successfully posted. This applies particularly if, for example, you want to include more organizational units such as another plant or sales organization in the extraction. Stopping the posting of documents always applies to the entire client.
Queued Delta: With this update mode, the extraction data is collected for the affected application instead of being collected in an extraction queue, and can be transferred as usual with the V3 update by means of an updating collective run into the BW delta queue. In doing so, up to 10000 delta extractions of documents for an LUW are compressed for each DataSource into the BW delta queue, depending on the application.

However, in contrast to the current default settings (serialized V3 update), the data in the updating collective run are thereby read without regard to sequence from the update tables and are transferred to the BW delta queue.

a) Due to the design of the data targets in BW and for the particular application in question, it is irrelevant whether or not the extraction data is transferred to BW in exactly the same sequence in which the data was generated in R/3.

If I run the program it want to store the data into excel sheet(first few lines) , if i run the program again I want to store the next result in the same excel sheet after that data(first time data).
is it any solution available to store the data in the same excel sheet again again in different row of that excel sheet.

Hi,
I am not sure which FM u r using for downloading. The FM GUI_DOWNLOAD will work for your requirement. Set the parameter Append to value 'A'. Every time it will append the data to ur file.

please help me ... The question has nothing to do with 'getting' data from excel and certainly not with putting it into MySQL.
The stack trace specifically tells you that your connection string is wrong.
It also tells you which connection string is wrong.
Which you can use to determine specifically which one is wrong. And which you did not provide that info to us.

Hi Ramesh,
It is not possible to download data in Excel file on application server. You can better download the same in tab separated text file and then convert that text file to XLS.
Please do not open multiple threads for same problem.

Hi Ramesh,
You can download the data into application server using the following code. You will have the vendor details in the internal table. Then you will open a file and transfer the data as follows.
*   Download internal table to Application server file(Unix)
DATA: e_file like rlgrap-filename value '/usr/sap/tmp/file.txt'.
open dataset e_file for output in text mode.
lOOP AT it_datatab......
    transfer it_datatab to e_file.
ENDLOOP.
close dataset e_file.
In application server you will have only files and not excel sheets.

How do I import the data from Excel (.xls) file into Oracle Database table

I have an excel file with 5 columns of 5000 rows.
I have to import 5000 rows of data into my oracle table with

You can connect to Oracle from Excel directly. I know you can read data but am not sure if you can export data.
Other option is to import the data into Access.

my requirement is to import data from excel to forms.
i have gone through the help, they have mentioned as below
To build this demo:
1     Create a spreadsheet containing the initial data and formulae that you want to appear in your form.
2     In the Layout Editor, click the OLE container tool and drag out the area where you want to display the spreadsheet.
3     From the pop-up menu on the OLE container, click Insert Object.
4     Click Create from File. Enter the name of the spreadsheet. Click OK.
5     In the Object Navigator, attach the library EXCEL.PLL.
6     To get the value of a cell, call the function GETCELL from the SPREADSHEET package contained in the EXCEL library.
To get the value of a cell, call the procedure SETCELL from the same package.
7     To add other interactions with the spreadsheet, use the OLE2 built-in package. Consult the Excel documentation
for details of Excel’s object model.but if anybody explain this with sample then it will be useful for me..This is first time i am comming such type of requirement across.

Download the data into excel sheet

hello experts,
I am using the GUI_DOWNLOAD fm to download the data in to excell sheet on to the desktop but here i am getting some problem
For some of the fields i put constant values like '004' or '001' when it is downloaded the data into to .xls its removing the leading zeros.. and just downloading the values as 4 or 1
can anyone guide me how to hold those leading zeros

You can edit the report to display the specific information you need. After choosing "Edit" for the report, you'll find a section at the bottom called "Columns to Display". Pick and choose exactly what you want, and then click the button for "Save and Run".
