How to identify token

Hi,
i am tokenizing a string... on the bases of pipe symbol( | )
if i get two consecutive pipe( | | )than how i ll identify this thing .

could you give a solid example?
do you mean if you have a string such as "a b c d | | e f g"
then you'd like to know if that string has two consecutive pipeline symbols?
here's how I would do it (assuming my previous assumption of the problem is correct :)
StringTokenizer st = new StringTokenizer(str, " ");
int match = 0;
while (st.hasMoreTokens()) {
  if (st.nextToken().equals("|")) {
    match++;
    if (match == 2) {
      return true;
  } else {
    match = 0;
return false;
