How to import raw files from canon550D into PSE9 ?
I have just purchased PSE9. I have downloaded
Camera Raw 5.7 and 6.2 update and installed both...but still I cannot see/open my raw files from canon
550D - any suggestions...??
If you right click on one of your Canon CR2 files and choose open with PSE9 it should automatically open in camera raw; you then click open image to send into the Editor.
If not working, you may have inadvertently installed 5.7. I would suggest you try again with installing the latest plug-in which is 6.2, and follow the instructions carefully as you must only have one file in the camera raw plug-in folder. The links are for PSE8 but will work with PSE9

How to import raw files from nikon d750 to snow leopard
I can import raw files from my Nikon d80 to iPhoto on Snow Leopard without having to install Nikon software. However iPhoto won't import raw files from my Nikon d750. Has anyone out there had this problem?.
Mountain Lion is what Lion should have been in my opinion. I used Lion for a week and reverted to Snow Leopard. Another option is to have 2 operating systems installed, each on a different partition. You could then stay with Snow Leopard for most of your work.
Check to make sure your applications are compatible. PowerPC applications are no longer supported after 10.6.

I have just purchased a Canon Powershot SX60 HS Bridge Camera. I have Photoshop Elements 11 and I cannot import Raw files. How do I download the latest version of Camera Raw into Elements 11?
T.W. GasbyCamera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras
Camera Raw-compatible Adobe applications
With Elements 11 you cannot.
The SX60 HS was first supported in Camera Raw 8.7 which is only compatible with Elements 13 and later.
Options:
Pay to upgrade to Elements 13
Free option: download the Adobe DNG converter, convert all SX60 HS Raw files to DNG format then edit the DNGs in Elements 11

How to import Raw files from the Canon 5D Mark III into PSE12? [was: cr2]
I have Photoshop Elements 12 and I can't import Canon 5D Mark III CR2 files.
Not sure what you mean by view the photos? Are they showing in the camera raw dialog when you choose a CR2 file from the menu in expert mode:
File >> Open
What computer and operating system are you using?
Can you try shooting a couple of new CR2 files and then put them into a folder on your hard drive rather than the external drive. Can you import from that location using the Organizer menu:

Importing RAW files from iPad into Aperture
Hello,
While on the go, I used the camera connection kit to import some RAW files (.NEF from a Nikon D300s) into my iPad directly from the SD card. The files where correctly imported, they display perfectly in the iPad screen and I was surprised to see no lagging when zooming such big files.
Now the bad thing. When I got back home I tried to import such files into a new Aperture project. When I connect the iPad to my mac, although it takes some time, all the pictures are correctly displayed, but when I hit the import button, aperture keeps turning the task indicator wheel without ever importing a single picture! Cancelling the import task does not work and the only way to get Aperture to work again is by force quitting it.
Any ideas?
Ps.: all my software is updated and running the latest versions (Aperture 3, mac OS X 10.6.4, etc)
Message was edited by: andreambrosioThe reason why the iPad shows the images so quick is because it is not showing the actual raw data like Aperture does. Instead the iPad does the same as the camera does when showing the photo on your LCD. Each RAW file has an embedded JPG preview. The iPad (and your camera) show that preview image. There is no raw processing happening.
Not sure why copying or importing to Aperture causes you trouble. As soon as I plug my iPad into the USB to my PC it shows up as a folder. I can copy the files from there to my computer. -
How can I import Raw files from a canon eos 6d?
How can I import RAW files from a Canon Eos 6D into aperture?
Doesn;t look like the 6d is supported yet. I'm surprised, thought it would have been in the latest update, 4.02.
In the meantime you can shot RAW+JPG and use the JPG's now and then switch to the RAW's once it is supported or else you an convert the RAWs to DNG using Adobe's converter and import the DNGs.
While I can't say for sure Canon cameras are usually supported fairly quickly so hopefully you won't have to much longer to wait.
regards
And in the meantime let Apple now you want this see Aperture->Provide Aperture Feedback -
I can no longer import raw files from my Panasonic Lumix LX5 into Aperture 3.3.2 - raw files from my other Canon cameras are fine. Am still running Lion (10.7.4) - NOT Mountain Lion. Tried all available software updates - all up to date apparently but still no joy. OS X Lion shows the LX5 as a supported file format. I dont want to have to upgrade to Mountain Lion just to see if this solves the problem. Any ideas please.
Since when did this happen? Directly after you upgraded to Aperture 3.3.2?
If it happened directly after the upgrade the problem may be, that the raw support for your camera got lost. For some posters it helped to register the raw support again, see this post by Alan Roseman:
Aperture 3 preview of raw file greenish
If this does not help, you may need to reinstall Lion to bring back the raw support.
But if the problem occured independent of a new installation, ypu may have a problem with your camera or the card you are using. Have you tried to use a different card or to reformat the card in the camera? -
Cant import raw files from sony rx1003 into iPhoto
Cant import raw files from sony rx1003 into iPhoto. with rx1002 no problem! any suggestions?
Every model of a manufacture's camera have a different RAW format and, therefore, you'll have to wait until Apple receives the necessary information from Sony so they can create a RAW Compatibility Updater that includes that model.
In the meantime you can try the Adobe RAW converter with might support that camera model to create a dmg file that iPhoto will recognize and begging shooting the highest resolution jpegs until the updater is released. -
New Computer - Can't import raw files from Canon 1D mk 4
I just bought a new Toshiba Qosmio laptop and have reinstalled PS CS5 and LR 3.2 64 bit. LR says there are no other updates to install. Trying to import raw files from CF reader but LR is not showing me the raw files on the import screen. I have installed Camera Raw 6.2 plug in. It's been a long night but I can't see why files aren't importing properly. What am I missing? All suggestions greatly appreciated.
Thanks
MarkMark,
The ACR plugin is not needed for importing files with Lightroom. LR has it's own "ACR" built in. The ACR plugin is used when opening Raw files from Photoshop.
Try copying the files from your card-reader to your hard drive using explorer/finder, and try importing from there. There have been quite a few reports where the card reader (and its connection) have lead to trouble while importing into LR.

Why does not Lightroom allow me to import RAW files from my Canon 5D Mark III?
Why does not Lightroom allow me to import RAW files from my Canon 5D Mark III?
Error message that it does not support cr. fileWhich version of Lightroom?
As Hal points out, if it's pre v 4.1, you can't expect an old version of the software to know what to do with a camera that didn't even exist when the software was released.
Given how many times a day this same issue comes up, maybe it's time Adobe changed the error message to something like "your camera is too old to be supported by this version of Lightroom. Please upgrade" or similar... -
When I import raw files from my Nikon D600 into Aperture I get a tryangle sign with "unsupported image format"
Latest Adobe DNG converter (7.2) DOES indeed convert NEF pictures coming from a D600.
Head up to Adobe's website and download the app.
You'll only miss the focus information (focus distance and focus sensors used), but you'll be able to work with raw and not rely on jpg only! -
Problems importing raw files from nikon d610
My lightroom 4.4 will not import raw files from my new nikon d610. I downloaded the converted but cannot get that to work either.
Please helphttp://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
The above link provides the full list of camera models supported by Adobe Camera Raw and Lightroom. You will note that support for the Nikon D610 was introduced in Lightroom 5.3.
You have a couple of options
a. Upgrade your version of Lightroom to version 5, the latest update is LR 5.4. This will provide support for your raw NEF files from your camera. (LR 4 will not have any further updates)
b. Download the free Adobe DNG Converter version 8.4 and convert the NEF files to DNG format and you can then import the DNG files into Lightroom 4. (retain copies of your NEF files for use with the Nikon software or other software that may not read DNG files.)
Quote " I downloaded the converted but cannot get that to work either.
Please help" If you are referring to the Adobe DNG Converter if is possible that if you used an older version of Nikon Software to transfer the files from your camera to the computer the files may have been rendered unreadable by Adobe Software. -
Importing RAW files from Nikon D810 error
I have tried importing RAW files from my Nikon D810 into LR5 but get an error message that the files are not recognized.
Raw files from my D800 are imported OK.
What's the reason for this and what can I do?
I'm a professional wedding photographer and need to start processing these images ASAP
I thank anyone for their help!ssprengel wrote:
LR 5.6 is available as is ACR 8.6 Final.
Some D810 users on dpreview are finding problems with the "Camera..." profiles in the release version of LR 5.6. They report some posterisation. See http://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/54122110. I don't have a D810 - only a humble D800 - and I've found no problems with that on LR 5.6, so can't confirm whether there's an issue with the new D810 profiles or not.
Edit: I've just downloaded a D810 NEF someone posted on that dpreview thread, and in LR 5.6 most of the "Camera..." profiles produce some posterisation, although Adobe Standard is fine.
If any Adobe staffers are lurking here, they might want to take a look at that thread and see if they can reproduce the issue (or confirm it isn't an issue). -
Problem importing raw files from camera
Hello I am new to digital photography and am having trouble importing raw files from my panasonic lumix g1 into elements 7. I can import them into the software that came with the camera, but I would rather use photoshop. Can anybody advise me on this?
Many thanks
JPYou need to install ACR 5.4 into your PSE 7. Note: ACR 5.5 the latest ACR is still in beta form and will not yet install in PSE 7.
