How to include images in my app

hi all.
I'm using Apex 2.1 over XE.
I'm sorry but i can't find any thread related to how to include images in my app.
I've uploaded several trough shared componentes / files / images, but don't know how to use it, for example, in an HTML region, as header of the page.

Hi,
I have used four different ways to display images in my applications depending on which method is the fastest to refresh.
1. Under Application Attributes > Edit Standard Attributes > Substitutions enter your substitution string (MY_IMAGE_URL) and substitution value(http://somewhere/img)
and then in the region or template use the following syntax &MY_IMAGE_URL. in your html tags eg. img src="&MY_IMAGE_URL./banner.png" width="x" height="x">)
I have found this the best for image refresh speed, especially if the image is already cached.
2. Load your image up into Apex and don't associate it with any application and use the following tag img src="#WORKSPACE_IMAGES#banner.png" width="x" height="x" alt="">
Good for development as all images not associated to an application are available.
3. Load your image up into Apex and associate it with an application and use the following tag img src="#APP_IMAGES#banner.png" width="x" height="x" alt="">
This can be a pain during development when your application numbers continually change.
4. Use standard http address <img src="http://somewhere/banner.png" width="x" height="x">

I beg your pardon? You want to send text and image in the same response? Can't be done. If you go and look at pretty much any HTML page on the web you will see how to include images in HTML.

How to include images in your swf?

I am making a website with flash builder. The images i need, i have to upload to the server and have to load everytime you click on a menu button. That takes time and is very bad for my limited banthwidth (or something). So, i want to know how i can include images in the swf, so they just have to load one time.

from Oracle DB, using UTL_SMTP I am sending emails to customers, it works OK but my problem is that include images do not show when email is open (show typical box with a 'X' in it) , Is there any option to do it??? in HTML? in UTL_SMTP.

How to include images in BAM reports

Hi all,
In Oracle 11g BAM , i can see some already existing Demo reports, i the Active Studio.
in that demo reports i can see a report called SLA Violation.Here in this SLA Vioaltion report there is Updating Orderded list within the list they are showing some images .
can some one help me how to add images like that..? or tell me the steps..
i tried creating the similar updating ordered list in my sample report and gave the image links gived in that demo report

Suggestion on how to include image and text in epub export

I have 12 images like the one below that are included in a book designed for print in ID but also exporting to an epub. I built the image in Photoshop because it needed a stroke and the stroke doesn't export from ID (?). Originally I build the entire image in PS with text. That exports fine.It is anchored inline. But the text is a bit blurry. So I tried just using the image+stroke from PS and then creating a text box in ID inside the image. Then the text and image separated when exported to epub. Any suggestions on how to do this effectively?

I would suggest just keeping the text when you export to epub and then building a div border to create the box around the text.

How to include image or html dynamically in a JSP?

I need to show the uploaded content in a jsp. It could be either a image or html file. How can i include these images or html files dynamically without affecting screen design.

What the heck is 'screen design'? You mean the page layout?
You could show in a popup div; JQuery will be your best bet for a prebuilt function to do that. But you'd need to put the uploaded file in a place where the browser can fetch it through an URL, or you need to create a servlet that can load and return the data to the browser.

How to include images/icons for a jar file

Hi,
I need to create a jar file which will contain my application. My source code (.java) files are in "app" folder. I compiled that using javac -d . *.java and one package("appl") was created. I have all icons and images related to my application are in the folder named "icons" in the directory where source files are located i.e; app folder - "app/icons". I am accessing the images in the icons directory as "icons/book.gif".
I created a jar file from source file directory with the option
jar cvf app.jar app
and i added this jar file to my classpath also.
I have created a batch file to execute this application and set that batch file to "path" environment variable.
It is running from any directory but no icons are appearing in that application if i try to run the application out side the "app" folder.
Can any body give suggessions to solve this problem?

To use files in jars, you need to refer to them via a URL, so you'll need to modify your code a little bit first.

setIconImage(Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getImage(imgURL));Next, you'll need a manifest. Using any text editor such as notepad, create a file called manifest.txt and put two lines in it. The first line will specify the class (w/o .class on the end) that contains your public static void main method, the second line is just an empty line (just press return).
Main-Class: main
(a blank line)
Save this file with your class files (e.g. in Exam folder).
Next build your jar. We want the jar to contain the package folder and your icon folder as well. So use this:
jar cmf Exam/manifest.txt myJar.jar Exam/*.class icons
And you should now have an executable jar. You can run it from dos with:
java -jar myJar.jar
or you can double-click it from windows.

Building off StonyArc's suggestion, what you would need to do is add the RSS Feed as a REST data source. Assuming you leverage the following RSS Feed in REST https://en.blog.wordpress.com/feed/ via
the "Configure a connection" option and the added data source name is
feed. You would then need to the following:
1) Drop an "Image Gallery with Caption" and set its 'Items'
property to feed!channel!item as this contains all the items from the feed.
2) Edit the Gallery template and set the Image control within the gallery to
'media:thumbnail'!'$attributes'!url
This should now bring up the image per post. Note that all posts, do not have images, therefore some items within the gallery will be blank.

How to include SCOM R2 agent in server image (or vmware template)

Can anybody tell me how to include the SCOM R2 agent in our Windows images/templates? For the SCCM client, it is as simple as stopping the service on the reference machine, deleting the cert, and capturing. I can find no good answer on the Internets on whether the SCOM agent has some sort of unique ID that doesn't like being "duplicated".
Any help would be appreciated. (I'd rather NOT include scripted tasks or steps that install the agent AFTER an image is deployed).
My RMS is configured to auto-accept agent registrations.

Hi, I'm looking to do the same. I created a template with the agent installed; however, I still left the server (W2012 R2) in 'workgroup'. When loading and configuring the agent, I didn't get any error message since the raw server can communicate
with the management server nor have I received a 'pending approval' on the mgmt server.
I like the idea of having this pre-configured and ensuring SCOM properly detects and monitors new server additions since checklists are not followed.

How do I remove images from Notes app?
I sometimes find that, when cutting and pasting text from the web, an image is also copied (pretty much at all times I try and avoid this, but sometimes the selection process doesn't allow for fine enough control - e.g. a whole block of content may be selected, rather than just the few words I'm trying to copy).
I then find, once it's part of my note, that I cannot select the unwanted image and remove it. Can anyone tell me if this is something that can be done, and if so... how?

Thanks for your replies. I also have and use Simplenote, although I went off it for a while, when it started crashing all the time on me. It seems to be more stable again now, so I'll start using it more regularly again, perhaps.
I am, obviously, disappointed that one can't simply select ANY object within a Notes document and choose to delete it. As I rather suspected, the only solution is an annoying workaround. Apple stuff seems to get more like this as time goes by. At least in my experience.
I solved the issue my own way in the end, but I guess it was close to your 1st idea DR, and your 2nd option, KT: I basically cut and pasted everything above, and then everything below, the image, and pasted both chunks of text into a new note. So it took two passes, and left me with the original note just displaying the image, which I then trashed.
Tapping to the right of the image followed by deletion was what I hoped & expected would work. But instead the image stayed put and the text below the cursor would simply slide along the right hand side, moving upwards as I deleted! Most bizarre, to my mind at least.
Anyway thanks for the feedback. But, for anyone else that might want to know how to do this, the answer is: NO, you can't select and delete an image once it's in one of your notes!
* I quite recently watched the rather strange Bruce Willis / Nick Nolte 'Breakfast of Champions' movie... I think I still prefer the book to the film!
