How to insert line feed in the alert text

HI,
I am sending a message from BMP using alert.
I need to insert a line feed in the error message because the message is a concatenation of multiple error messages.

You already have the solution. The XML created by EDI disassembler does not have White Space and Indent enabled so what you see is unindented/non-whitepaced XML.
However if you view it in IE then you will see it indented and properly formatted. I would assume that you want to do something with the disassembled message such as store it or process it as opposed to having someone read it in a browser or notepad++ ?
because for processing the data whitespace or indentation is not really consequential.

Hi,
There is three types of images reference in oracle apex.
1 Standard image -> url reference is -----> #IMAGE_PREFIX#menu/books_64.gif
2 Workspace images -> url reference is ------> #WORKSPACE_IMAGES#java-icon.jpg
3 Application images -> url reference is ------> #APP_IMAGES#JqueryIcon.jpg

Help - how to insert line feed in string

Hello,
I have a servlet that reads lines from a database and I must append them to build a document. There is a field for the data nad a field to tell how many lines to skip.
// from database
data String 198
skip one character
String doc = "";
This is not working
doc = doc + data + '\n';
for (i=1; i < skip; i++) {
doc = doc + '\n';
doc ends up with no spaces between lines.
Can someone help me with this?

How to place a tone into the Alert (text) Tone folder iOS7?

I made a custom tone that I want to use for as a new alert tone on my iPhone. I got it formatted and into my tones in itunes and synced it up. The new tone gets put under ringtones vs alert tone. Is there a way to get that tone to be place into the correct folder?
Is it a file format change, like m4r (ringtone)? Or apple doesn't let you put them in the folder you want. Just a peeve of mine to get something into the right folder!

Try:
Ask for Text: first value
Set Value of Variable
Ask for Text: next value
Set Value of Variable
etc.... till you have variables for all the information you want
Get Value of Variable (1st)
Get Value of Variable (2nd)
etc... till you do get for every variable
Run Shell Script: Pass input: as arguments
$1 should have 1st variable
$2 should have 2nd variable
$3 etc...
But just to be sure, try substituting the following shell script so you can see what was passed
n=0
for a
do
n=$((n+1))
echo "\$$n: $a"
done
Then look at "Run Shell Script" -> "Results". Adjust your use of $1, $2, $3, ... as appropriate.

Utl_file.utl_raw adds a line feed at the end of the line. How to avoid it.

utl_file.utl_raw adds a line feed at the end of the line. I have to send some binary files to my vendor and they do not want a line feed at the end of the line.
When I execute the sample program below, it creates a file with a line feed(chr(10)) at the end of the line. When I do dump in hexa, it shows a character x0A
How to avoid the line feed at end of line?
We are using Oracle 9i on unix platform.

oops, sorry i overlooked the fact that the db is 9i; thanks for pointing it out Solomon.
Not sure about this, but a workaround could be to remove the "\n" characters at the end of each line using one of the many Unix utilities after the file has been created.

I have a requirement. We are sending a file from SAP to FTP using file adapter. we are successful in sending the file to FTP but at the end of the file a extra blank line is created .

To define an additional string as a separator after the last column in a row, specify it here. The system skips this string when it processes the last column (otherwise the system would treat it as part of the last column).

I have created one z-report, and the output of the report is in .CSV file format separated by 'semi-colon' as separator.
Their is one column "Product" in which data is in the format

My code looks something like this:

CONCATENATE Prod_str

Our requirment is to insert Line-feed between each product entries within the cell.Line-Feed between each product within the cell is possible with ALT+ENTER key
The output required is
"[Product1](ALT+ENTER)
[Product2](ALT+ENTER)
[Product3](ALT+ENTER)
[Product4]"

i.e CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES=>NEWLINE.
LOOP AT product_new INTO wa_product.
CONCATENATE Prod_str

CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES=>NEWLINE.
INTO prod_str.
ENDLOOP.

data: value type string....
data: lv_feed type c value CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES=>CR_LF.
replace all occurrences of lv_feed in value with space.

The line number of the debit item or credit memo to which a payment or credit memo is applied
So, I want to use APPLIED_CUSTOMER_TRX_LINE_ID to join with transaction's line (RA_CUSTOMER_TRX_LINES_ALL).
But after applied the credit memo, the APPLIED_CUSTOMER_TRX_LINE_ID is NULL.

The application is already at the AR Invoice (header) level. Oracle doesn't give you privilege to apply the invoice at invoice line or distribution level. You need to match the applied_customer_trx_id to customer_trx_id of ra_customer_trx_all to get the applied invoice/debit memo number. Hope my comments are helpful to you.

Instead of adding button in the column header , in the column
add a fixed top cell.
    right click on the column
    Insert FixedTopCell
    Right click on the fixedTopCell
    insert Editor.
   select button.
then button will be only in the top most row.

Hi,
You need to switch to design mode (BEx Analyser Menu - Design Toolbar - Design Mode). For each query that you want to embed, insert an analysis grid item in the workbook. Link each analysis grid to its corresponding data provider (query).

Same problem, 3.6.8 and previous recent versions. I never thought to try another browser but I just pasted into IE and it worked fine. I copied from Firefox to IE and it worked as well. It's just when you paste into Firefox that you get the weird line breaks.

I just want this gone and like i said Firefox should of given us the choice to add this and not forced us, because if there is no actual way to remove it then il be forced to remove Firefox till they either remove it or allow us to remove it!

Carriage Returns, Line Feeds, and Tabs in Text Area

I am having users copy and paste data from an Excel spreadsheet into a textarea on a BSP page. When they submit this, since there are tabs and line feeds in the data, the BSP does not recognize the data. The value in the field comes through as blank. When I manually type something into this field, with out any carriage returns, tabs, etc., the value does not come through as blank? Does anybody know how to get around this?

Iam uploading the data from application server(AL11) to other server.
In the GLPCA-SGTXT(Table) iam having some text like 'This is good ##'.i was downloded some other data with this text('This is good ##') by using report program in to aplicationserver(AL11) and from there iam uploading that data into other server.
But here the problem is in the UNIX, it was showing some problem.
That is actually it need to show the format like:
001 256 786 This is good## 459786
But here it was showing like:
001 256 786 This is good^M
459786
So here '459786' is coming to next line. But i need this '459786' also in the same line.
I am not sure if it is possible to remove CR and LF's using the code the program is written in, but that is what we need to do. In Unix ^M is the CR (Carriage return), but I am not sure what LF is?
