How to insert signals into multiple columns in db, dbtoolset

I have  a labVIEW program that is currenly simulating voltage and a current signal using the DAQ Assistant. I'm using the database connectivity toolset. I am currently able to insert one signal into the database converted to a float(I can insert both into the same column as bianary but it needs to be stored as a usable format and in seperate columns.)
The problem I am having is at the DB Tools Insert Data block. I have the connection, dbTable, error code, and create table boolean being passed into it. Where I am a little lost is how to set the columns I want to store the multiple signals into.
If someone could break that part down for me that would be great. In short, I want to store voltage(channel0) and current(channel1) from the DAQ Assistant into their own respective columns in the db.

As I have often pointed out, the easiest solution to this situation is to dump the Database Connectivity Toolkit. Check out this thread and follow the references in it. If the DCT weren't in the way what you are wanting to do would be very easy.

  • How To Insert Cells Into One Column Only

    Can anyone advise me, how to insert a cell (or multiple cells) into +just one column+ whilst leaving everything else on the sheet exactly as it is?
    I'm migrating from Excel and can't find this functionality in Numbers
    Thanks in advance for any help

    Thank you for taking the time to reply, thereby removing the misery of me continuing to search for this absent function!
    I really wanted to like the iWork apps! I recently rebuilt one of my rigs and had the intention of making it a Microsoft-free computer - hence the purchase of iWork.
    However, the last few days of 'learning curve' I have stumbled upon an increasing number of incompatibilities and limitations when compared to Excel, and the lack of the function to insert a single cell into a sheet is the final deal-breaker for me, sadly.
    So, reluctantly, I am going to install my Microsoft Office 2008 suite and get back to where I was before. I will continue to look at the iWork apps but I suspect they'll fall to the wayside.
    Once again, many thanks for confirming what I was reluctantly concluding.

  • How to insert document into xmltype column through an http post request with perl

    Oracle 11.2.0.3
    Windows server 2008r2
    Apache tomcat 7.0
    Oracle APEX 4.2.1
    Oracle APEX Listener 2.0
    I would like to insert a XML document into the database through an APEX restful web service. The POST into the web service in done with PERL. The following code will insert an empty record in a table with column of XMLType type.
    Perl Code
    use strict;
    use warnings;
    use LWP::UserAgent;
    use HTTP:Headers;
    my $headers = HTTP::Headers->new();
    my $url = "http://host:port:apex/<application_workspace>/<restfull service module>/<uri template>/
    my $sendthis = ('<?xml version="1.0" enconding="utf-8"?>

    $headers -> header('Content-Type' => 'text/xml; charset=utf-8');
    my $request = HTTP:Request->new('POST', $url, $headers, $sendthis);
    $request-> protocol('HTTP/1.1');
    my $browser = LWP::UserAgent->new();
    my $response = $browser->request($request);
    my $gotthis= $response->content();
    my $the_file_data = $response->content();
    APEX restful service
    Method: POST
    Source type: PL/SQL
    MIME Types allowed: blank
    require secure access: none
    source:
    {declare
    doc varchar2(32000);
    begin
    insert into table <column name>
    values(doc);
    commit;
    end;
    Table code
    { create table <tablename>
    (column name XMLType>);
    The above code will insert an empty column into the table.
    Any ideas why?

    It's a really bad idea to assemble XML using strings and string concatenation in SQL or PL/SQL. First there is a 4K limit in SQL, and 32K limit in PL/SQL, which means you end up constructing the XML in chunks, adding uneccessary complications. 2nd you cannot confirm the XML is valid or well formed using external tools.
    IMHO it makes much more sense to keep the XML content seperated from the SQL / PL/SQL code
    When the XML can be stored a File System accessable from the database, The files can be loaded into the database using mechansims like BFILE.
    In cases where the XML must be staged on a remote file system, the files can be loaded into the database using FTP or HTTP and in cases where this is not an option, SQLLDR.

  • How to transpose rows into multiple columns using pivot table

    I have 1 row containing 12 columns with value "JAN", "FEB", "MAR", "J-1","F-1","M-1","J-2","F-2","M-2","J-3","F-3","M-3"
    I want to display as
    JAN J-1 F-1 M-1
    FEB J-2 F-2 M-2
    MAR J-3 F-3 M-3
    How do I achieve the above?

    Today you have only 3 months JAN, FEB, MAR. Is it always the same number of columns. What if there are more months added to this row?
    Is your data really coming from relational source or some sort of text file?
    There is a better way to do this in narrative view using HTML if your requirement is just to show them in multiple rows and do some calculations.
    Go to Narrative View;
    In prefix, use <html> <table>
    In 'Narrative' text box add something like this
    <tr> <td> @1 </td> <td> @4 </td> <td> @7 </td> </tr>
    <tr> <td> @2 </td> <td> @5 </td> <td> @8 </td> </tr>
    <tr> <td> @3 </td> <td> @6 </td> <td> @9 </td> </tr>
    In Suffix, use </table> </html>
    You can also add simple calculations like sum etc at the very bottom of these rows as grand totals.

    How can I separate one column into multiple column?
    This is what I have:
    BUYER_ID ATTRIBUTE_NAME ATTRIBUTE_VALUE
    0001 PHONE_NUMBER 555-555-0001
    0001 EMAIL [email protected]
    0001 CURRENCY USD
    0002 PHONE_NUMBER 555-555-0002
    0002 EMAIL [email protected]
    0002 CURRENCY USD
    0003 PHONE_NUMBER 555-555-0003
    0003 EMAIL [email protected]
    0003 CURRENCY CAD
    This is what I would like to have:
    BUYER_ID PHONE_NUMBER EMAIL CURRENCY
    0001 555-555-0001 [email protected] USD
    0002 555-555-0002 [email protected] USD
    0003 555-555-0003 [email protected] CAD
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    This is another solution. Suppose your actual table's name is test(which has the redundant data). create a table like this:
    CREATE TABLE test2 (BUYER_ID number(10),PHONE_NUMBER varchar2(50),EMAIL varchar2(50),CURRENCY varchar2(50));
    then you will type this procedure:
    declare
    phone_number_v varchar2(50);
    EMAIL_v varchar2(50);
    CURRENCY_v varchar2(50);
    cursor my_test is select * from test;
    begin
    for my_test_curs in my_test loop
    select ATTRIBUTE_VALUE INTO phone_number_v from test
    where person_id=my_test_curs.person_id
    and attribute_name ='PHONE_NUMBER';
    select ATTRIBUTE_VALUE INTO EMAIL_v from test
    where person_id=my_test_curs.person_id
    and attribute_name ='EMAIL';
    select ATTRIBUTE_VALUE INTO CURRENCY_v from test
    where person_id=my_test_curs.person_id
    and attribute_name ='CURRENCY';
    INSERT INTO test2
    VALUES (my_test_curs.person_id,phone_number_v,EMAIL_v,CURRENCY_v);
    END LOOP;
    END;
    Then you will create your final table like this:
    create table final_table as select * from test2 where 1=2;
    After that write this code:
    INSERT ALL
    into final_table
    SELECT DISTINCT(BUYER_ID),PHONE_NUMBER,EMAIL,CURRENCY
    FROM TEST2;
    If you have a huge amount of data in your original table this solution may take a long time to do what you need.

  • Inserting data into multiple tables in jdbc

    I am doing on file to jdbc. Now I got a requirement to insert data into multiple tables on the receiver side. How can I do this ?

    Hi,
    you are going to insert data into 4 tables in a sequence one after another , I see three options.
    1) Stored procedure and 2) creating 4 statement data structure (one for each table)
    The third option is writing a SQL with join for the 4 tables and use action command = SQL_DML. Example as follows....
    Write SQL code and place it in access tag. Pass values for the columns using key tag...
    <stmt>
        <Customers action="SQL_DML">
          <access> UPDATE Customers SET CompanyName=u2019$NAME$u2019, Address=u2019$ADDRESS$' WHERE CustomerID='$KEYFIELD$u2019
          </access>
          <key>
            <NAME>name</NAME>
            <ADDRESS>add </ADDRESS>
            <KEYFIELD>1</KEYFIELD>
          </key>
        </Customers>
      </stmt>

  • Insert data into multiple entities at once using a view object

    Is this possible? And how (if it is)? Peter:
    This is definitely supported and tested. Please send us the exception stack trace. You must running into other problems. A few things to note:
    A) You have to mark the entities as both updateable (not read-only) and not reference-only.
    B) If you're not seeing an exception stack, turn on diagnostic. Here is how:
    To turn on diagnostic, go to the IDE,
    1. Select the project.
    2. Do right mouse click and select "Project Settings..."
    3. On the Settings dialog, select Configurations/Runner.
    4. In the righthand side pane, you should see a textbox for "Java
    Options". Please add the following JVM switch:
    -Djbo.debugoutput=console
    Then, rerun. The run command should include
    -Djbo.debugoutput=console as in
    "D:\JDev9i\jdk\bin\javaw.exe" -Djbo.debugoutput=console -classpath ...
    You should now see a lot more output on the IDE's message window. Here you should see the exception stack trace.
    If you invoking your app directly from command prompt, just add "-Djbo.debugoutput=console" after your "java.exe".
    Thanks.

  • Insert data into multiple tables

    Hi all,
    I've a requirement where i need to insert data into multiple tables using PL/SQL procedure
    Procedure should have two parameters
    1. Table Name (parameter1)
    2. Data (parameter2)
    Based on these two parameters i need to insert data into table (parameter1) using data (parameter2)
    ex:
    Procedure insert_data (p_table  IN VARCHAR2
                          ,p_data   IN -- what should be the datatype?
    IS
    l_statement VARCHAR2(2000);
    BEGIN
    -- insert data into tables
    INSERT INTO p_table
    values (....);
    END insert_data;Thanks in advance!!

    BEDE wrote:
    Amen to that!
    So, I believe a better approach would be the following...
    Suppose you have N datafiles with the same structure, and you wish to insert into the database the data from all those files.
    For that, you should have a single table, named, say incoming_file_data, which should be structured more or less like below:
    create table incoming_file_data (
    filename varchar2(250) not null -- name of the file inserted from
    ,file_time timestamp -- timestamp when the data was inserted
    ,... -- the columns of meaningful data contained in the lines of those files
    );And you will insert the data from all those files in this table, having normally one transaction for each file processed, for otherwise, when shit happens, some file may only get to be partially inserted into the table...
    Maybe one good approach would be to create dynamically an external table for the file to be loaded, and then execute dynamically insert select into the table I said, so that you will have only one insert select for one file instead of using utl_file... RTM on that.If the file structures are the same, and it's just the filename that's changing, I would have a single external table definition, and use the alter table ... location ... statement (through execute immediate) to change the filename(s) as appropriate before querying the data. Of course that's not scalable if there are multiple users intenting to use this, but generally when we talk about importing multiple files, it's a one-user/one-off/once-a-day type of scenario, so multi-user isn't a consideration.

    Whenever you have a problem, post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements, relevant columns only) for all tables involved, and also post the results you want from that data.
    Explain, using specific examples, how you get those results from that data.
    Always say which version of Oracle you're using (e.g., 11.2.0.2.0).
    See the forum FAQ: https://forums.oracle.com/message/9362002
    "Field" isn't a standard database term.  Some people say "field" when they mean "column", but I don't think that's what you mean ("How do you count the multiple columns of a column ..").  Do you want to know how many times a column is used (as opposed to NULL), or the number of different values in a column?  You really need to show what you want.

    PH1, PH2, PH3, ... will go more columns based on parameter , what we are passing.An single SQL statement cannot have a dynamic number of columns based on the data itself. The projection (columns returned) have to be known before any data is fetched... and that includes some 'parameter' value.
    {thread:id=2309172}
    You can build a query dynamically, based on a parameter or even on the data, but 99 times out 100 people use dynamic queries where they are not needed.
