How to insert tab characters for indenting in MathScript Code

Since pressing the Tab key throws one out of Text Mode, when editing a MathScript Node, is there some other way to introduce a tab. Tabs are extremely handy for improving readability of nested loops and inserting the equivalent number of spaces is time-consuming .

Can you edit the script in the MathScript window (Tools » MathScript Window...)? The tab button works like that from there.

But would this cause a tab to be translated as one space or would it still be a tab character? I think it will still be a tab character, which is a problem. I know MS Dev Studio can be set to translate tabs to spaces on the fly so if you hit a tab the cursor jumps 4 spaces and those spaces are spaces, not a tab. Thanks for the reply.

Now, i want to insert into database chinese characters. Please guide me how to do the following thing.
How to insert chinese characters on local machine and if i want to insert on the remote databse (i can not create database link for remote database). I have to send batch file or SQL file and they will execute it on their side.
if i use this command
alter session set nls_language = "SIMPLIFIED CHINESE"
and then insert the records and revert back to japanese character set. Is this correct way....?

As dombrooks has pointed out, unless all the Chinese characters you are trying to store can be represented in the Shift-JIS character set, which seems unlikely, but I'm not an expert on East Asian languages and I believe there are some glyphs that are shared between various languages, then you're not going to be able to store this data in this database in CHAR or VARCHAR2 columns.
Depending on the national character set, you may be able to store the data in NCHAR/ NVARCHAR2 columns, though using these data types can substantially increase application complexities since various languages and libraries don't support NCHAR/ NVARCHAR2 columns or require you to jump through some hoops to use them. Your applications would also have to support both character sets, so your applications would all have to be Unicode enabled most likely, which is certainly possible but it may not be a trivial change.

you can also acheive this using MERGE( available in sql 2008 and above).
also, you are referring to DTS. DTS is legacy solution now..are you using sql 2000, you can use ssis, if you want and it available in sql 2005. as said, there are multiple ways you can do this.. it find the below one a easy solution, since your are
talking about only one table..

When you said unable to insert to database, do you mean you get all ? marks in the database or garbage characters in the database?
? marks mean there are some byte chop off, and garbage characters mean the bytes are ok, just encoding problem.

How to insert more items for each tab in WAD 7.0

Hello to everyone,
My problem is confined to the WAD 7.0
I would like to insert 4 different queries into a new Web Template.
Two of them have to stay in one page and the others in one page each; therefore, the result would be a Web Template with three tabs.
Unfortunately the system creates automatically four different tabs with one query each.
Anybody knows how to insert more items in one page/tab?

In the WAD bring up the properites of the tabstrip_container web item, under the Internal Display group in the Tab Panel List, create 3 tabs, then drag 3 contatiner_layout web items into the tab web item.
In each conatiner item drag the analysis web item, 2 in the first container, then 1 each for the others, then point each analysis web item at a dataprovider(query).
Setup the contatiners so that the analysis items displays, to do this in the container properties create a row then on the following screen a column and then set the Subordinate web item to the analysis item, these web items control layout and are useful for dealing with multiple web items, for the first tab with 2 queries you will need to play with the layout, either 1 row 2 column or 2 row 1 column.
For each tab you created add the corresponding contatiner as the Subordinate Web Item in the Tab Panel parameters for each tab.

How to insert chinese characters in a table use FDK?

I am expecting to insert chinese characters in an XML file's table.
I'm using FDK7.2, if i use:
F_ApiAddText(docId, &tRange.beg, "asdf");
The English letters "asdf" can be insert correctly in the right place,
But, if insert chinese characters like this:
F_ApiAddText(docId, &tRange.beg, "人们");
No characters insert.
How can i solve this problem?

Which encoding are you using for the Chinese characters? FrameMaker 7.2 does not support Unicode or UTF-8. I have not done this before, but I guess you need to supply the characters in Big5 resp. GBK encoding, see

You also may have to make sure the paragraph format at your text location uses a Chinese font before inserting characters.

How set maximum of characters for the columns

Hello I use a JTable and I want to set maximum of characters for the columns.
For example column 1 max 10 characters, column 2 max 20 characters, etc..
How can I do this?

The principle is as follows: a table uses certain input components for editing a cell value, e.g. a JCheckBox for Boolean-type values or a JTextField for textual/numerical values. By default, a JTextField doesn't have any size limit, so you can enter as many chars as you want. In order to change this behaviour, you'll have to
1.) create a JTextField that does have a size limit and
2.) set a CellEditor on the JTable which uses this manipulated JTextField.
An easy way for 1.) is to create a custom Document (the internal data representation for text components, the M-part of the MVC -- see javax.swing.text.Document) that doesn't accept any text beyond a given limit, e.g.:

Why would you do that? Just use Character Viewer to input Apple's built in emoji.

Pages 09 does not support color emoji, use Pages 5 instead.

How to reject tab characters in EDIFACT (EDIEL) 10.1.2.3

We get tab characters in alphanumeric fields in some EDIFACT (EDIEL) messages, which should not be supported. The messages are forwarded to an external partner who rejects them. We would like to reject them when we (B2B) receive them instead.
Where do we control this? I have checked $ORACLE_HOME/ip/oem/edifecs/XEngine/config/actions-edifact.ecs, but I can't find tab as a legal character for any of the encodings (UNOA, UNOB, UNOC) that we use, so it should be rejected.

Try Launching the FDM with url something like http://fdmservername/HyperionFDM---- which is in 9.3 version.
You can also try something like logon to server where fdm is installed and open iis(inetmgr [command]) and expand websites and try browsing the FDM website by right clicking on FDM website and browse.
it will try launching FDM login page with a url being displayed at the bottom on inetmgr window. ex:http://localhost/HyperionFDM.

How to insert & # special characters into oracle table?

I have a text value which contains special characters such as & and #.
After I pass from one page to another,
TEST& becomes "TEST&"
I put " " on the above test, otherwise amp; will be truncated by OTN).
TEST# becomes TEST (# is truncated).
Actually the value is saved in table like this: "TEST&"
How to solve this problem?

Avoid doing that through a link. If this is a page item then submit the page and redirect to the target page using a branching. On the target page, create a computation to compute the target item using the original page item as the source. If you are talking about a report, use the id to pass through the link and fetch the text column in an on load computation.

I have a print job, where I need to insert tab pages into a document. Is there a tab template that I can insert into the Indesign document? If not, how can I create tab pages in Indesign?

When I used to do tabs I would set up a page that was as wide as the tab sheet including the tab, then add text frames in each tab position.
