How to install a San Digital Towerraid TR8M?

I am new Mac user having thrown in the towel on MS windows 7. I am just setting up my iMac 21.5 inch. I wish to install/connect a 8 drive enclosure Tr8m. The San Digital web site is a little baffling to me since I am so new at this. Is there any location on the web that could give me a general idea so I can acquire some basic knowledge on how to do this. I wish to operate in a non raid enviornment.Thank you in advance for any help you can offer this Mac newbie.

    I don't think ADE will itself run on Android.
    You need to install an app such as Bluefire (free) which supports DRM epub books.
    Make sure you authorise it with the same AdobeID you use on the PC or to buy books.
    You can get books on the PC with ADE, download them, 'sideload' the .epub files to the tablet using a file manager such as Windows Explorer, and read them on Bluefire.
    For library books, the Overdrive app (free) should allow you to borrow, doanload and read books with no need for a PC or ADE.

    Hi everyone
    I want to know How to Install Avermedia H339 Hybrid Digital/Analogue TV Card driver on Arch.
    this card is included in some XPS L502x Models.
    Thanks

    That appears to be a PCIe card.  It is also EOL (End of life)    The other models are all USB.
    Can you verify that it shows up in lspci -nn and and you provide the VID:PID  (The two four digit hexadecimal numbers in brackets separated by a colon)
    I ask, because I don't see direct support in the kernel for that manufacturer, but they may be using a generic chip set.
    Also, in the AUR, we have
    ewaller@turing ~/devel/build/linux-3.18.1 1023 %packer -Ss avermedia
    aur/a800-fw 1.0-1 (4)
    Firmware for AVerMedia AverTV DVB-T USB 2.0 (A800)

    I have bought a digital book and I dont know how to install it in my ebook; need MDR? how can I get it?

    There are, unfortunately, many different kinds of digital book. Some of them need special software. Some of them only work with particular kinds of computer or tablet. You need to follow very carefully the instructions on the site that sells it.
    Warning: avoid ebooks with type EXE.
    Avoid software to read ebooks that you would not trust very strongly.

  • How to install Windows 8.1 Pro on Macbook Pro

    Hello everyone,
         I'm new to these forums and new to bootcamping as well but have been reading all kinds of posts about how to install Windows 8.1 on their Macs using bootcamp. I am however having trouble with this situation as I have no clue what to do next. I have a Macbook Pro 2011, running on Maverics, and I recently downloaded a digital copy of Windows 8.1 Pro, 64-bit, for the Mac platform, along with its CD key through my University's hub website as can be seen here.
    After finishing the downloading process, I received this file which is about 4GB large.
    When i double click on the file this happens. It opens something on DEVICES which gives me what is on the 2nd image.
    At this point, I'm at a loss on what to do next. Do i burn the file on a DVD hoping that Bootcamp will recognize it as a windows disc? Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

    You need a 'Full' Installer.
    From Boot Camp 5.1: Frequently asked questions - Apple Support
    Which versions of Windows work with Boot Camp 5.1?
    Boot Camp 5.1 supports 64-bit, non-Enterprise versions of Windows 7, Windows 8.0, and Windows 8.1. This version of Boot Camp doesn't support Windows XP, Windows Vista, or any 32-bit version of Windows. Depending on your Mac, you may be able to use an earlier version of Boot Camp to work with other versions of Windows. For details, see the Boot Camp system requirements for Microsoft Windows.
    Can I perform an upgrade install from a 32-bit version of Windows to a 64-bit version of Windows?
    It's not possible to upgrade a 32-bit version of Windows to a 64-bit version of Windows. Back up your important files, then perform a new install of the 64-bit version of Windows.

  • How to Install Windows 7 Without the Disc

    1a)  Here is very useful article from PCWorld.com. The article is entitled "How to Install Windows 7 Without the Disc" and means just what it says. The article also has links to Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder and legitimate Windows 7 ISOs from Digital River, a licensed distributor of Microsoft software. The article lists "Step 1" as;
    "Find your Windows 7 product key: Typically this 25-character alphanumeric string is printed on a sticker affixed to your PC or on documentation included with your PC. Alternatively, you can use a keyfinder program such as Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder to pull your product key from the Registry. You need your product key to reinstall Windows."
    1b)  Using a key finder, however, is only useful if the Windows 7 product key was printed on a sticker (Microsoft Certificate of Authenticity) affixed to your PC, on documentation included with your PC, or sent via email by Microsoft. Assuming your computer came from one of the big brand computer manufacturers... HP, Sony, Dell, Gateway, etc... as most do, it uses a generic "mass activation" OEM SLP key. Trying to use this key by itself isn't going to work. This OEM SLP key needs to be mated with an OEM SLP certificate and an appropriate OEM BIOS with a proper SLIC table.
    1c)  Here is where ABR Beta With Windows 7 Support comes to the rescue. Follow the "How to use it" section of ABR for Windows Vista for information and instructions on how to use ABR. The steps listed for Vista apply to Windows 7 as well. Perform the "activation backup" to "backup" and save the OEM SLP key and OEM SLP certificate. Save the entire ABR folder to an external location for later use. This will allow you to pre-activate your "clean" Windows 7 install on the computer you pulled the key and certificate from.
    1d)  Now install Windows 7 from your new "Windows 7" disc or USB stick, following all prompts as needed. Don't enter a Windows 7 product key if request. Also, don't allow Windows to try to auto-activate. Once Windows is fully installed, run ABR "activation restore" to "restore" the previously backed up product key and certificate to the new Windows 7 install. Verify that Windows is activated, repeat "activation restore" if needed.
    2)  Here is another useful article, this time from SevenForums.com. This arcticle is entitled "Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7" and provides detailed steps required to backup your computer, audit current hardware and software, locate software and drivers, install and activate Windows 7, and create a Windows 7 Backup Image of your fresh install.
    Good luck.
    Links to additional Windows 7 SP1 "Editions" and "Languages" can be found HERE and HERE.
    Link to "ei.cfg Removal Utility". The "ei.cfg Removal Utility" is a simple tool that will remove the ei.cfg  from any Windows ISO disc image, thereby converting the image into a "universal disc" that will prompt the user to select an edition during setup instead of being forced to use different discs for different versions of Windows 7.

    ervis,
    Before formatting the hard drive you should have been able to use the HP Recovery Manager to create your recovery discs or perform a system recovery. This is provided the recovery partition wasn't already corrupt or damaged. If the "D:" HP Recovery partition is missing or damaged and you don't have a set of HP Recovery Discs, you will need to use the information in my previous post to get your computer up and running again.
    The information in the document referred you to applies to several different "types" of installations;
    Using ABRbeta is only needed if you have an active OEM factory SLP (system locked preactivated) installation of Windows. You use ABR to pull the factory key and certificate off the computer, to reuse it on the same computer with a clean Windows install.
    If you are just installing Windows and are going to use the Windows 7 product key on the COA on the side of your computer, all you need to do is download the same version of Windows that your key is for and burn the ISO. Now install Windows answering or following all prompts as needed (except do not enter the Windows product at this time... it will be entered later). Once Windows has completely installed, enter the key and activate it. Your Windows 7 OA key should work on a SP1 install without issue.
    The only thing I see that could mess things up, is the language of the install. If you are still having trouble activating Windows, please reference the ISO you download and a post a photo of your Windows COA
    with the key erased or Xed out.

  • How to install windows 7 on macbook properly?

    Hello there;
    I've macbook 2007. I bought it used and it had windows 7 installed on it.
    something went wrong with the W7 and had to reinstall a fresh one one.
    I booted from W7 DVD and reinstalled the windows, everything is ok. network - wireless - graphic but only one thing went wrong.
    there was no sound, and there's a red led in audio jack. I googled for 6 hours trying to figure it out. and I've tried litteraly EVERYTHING people said about it.
    but that Led didn't turn off, and yet the sound didn't work.
    and then I heard something about BootCamp that helps with messed up drivers and I downloaded it but it didn't work on windows, it says it must be installed on MAC but I don't have MAC now.
    1- Is there a way to fix that sound issue without reinstalling windows? :-s I've really tried almost everything
    2- if no, How can I install mac, which version should I install? where to get it? how long will it take? then how to install W7 again from it?
    thanks in advance
    hope anyone can help with this.
    Bye

    That is odd if the codec's didn't work, but if there's a red light in the audio jack then it's most likely the sensor is fudged. Check this post from macrumors: I found a fix for the red light problem. I'm not sure if I like it, but it works. After reading forum thread after forum thread of users that had this problem, I found a dude who fixed his jack with a rubber ended bobby pin. It seems a sensor gets bent (?) and the system thinks your digital external line is still plugged in. I took the butt end of a matchstick and tickled inside the jack. My red light went out. My internal speakers work again.
    http://forums.macrumors.com/archive/index.php/t-237405.html
    Searching online seems to all point to a sensor most likely being the issue for the audio if there's a redlight showing. Your drivers could actually be fine, but won't matter if that sensor is damaged/loose. Are you getting sound from normal uses (youtube etc)?
    Pry won't matter but did you try in a VM as well? I have Win7 on VirtualBox (free).

  • How to install new fonts using code in java?

    Hi,
    How to install font in a system using java, provided i know the font file's address. Is there any specific class/method available for this purpose? Copying the file to windows/font directory will work for windows, but I think it wont be generic to all operating system. So is there anyway to install a font using code?
    I also want to know how to make the font available only until my application window is open, It must be available to all other external applications like photoshop, word etc., When I close my window it must un-install automatically or be made not available to other applications. Any suggestions? Please do help! Thanks in advance...

    I have already tried the above, But the font created using input stream is available only to my application* and is not viewable in photoshop.*. I realize this. Like I said, I know of no method that will register/deregister the font with the system. You'll have to create your own method that takes the operating system into account.
    String os = System.getPropery("os.name");
    if(os.equals("Windows Vista")) {
    }else if(os.equals("Windows XP")) {
    }else if(os.equals("Windows NT")) {
    }else if(os.equals("Solaris")) {
    AIX
    Digital Unix
    FreeBSD
    HP UX
    Irix
    Linux
    Mac OS
    Mac OS X
    MPE/iX
    Netware 4.11
    OS/2
    Solaris
    Windows 2000
    Windows 95
    Windows 98
    Windows NT
    Windows Vista
    Windows XPYou'll need the standard font directory for each system. I think all the window ones are C:\Windows\Font\ . Each OS probably has its own little quark (like having several font directories or throwing different security exceptions). Undoubtly it's going to require some research and a bit of trial and error. You can probably work some magic with Runtime.exec(...) as well.
    The alternative would be to google for some libraries that offer similar functionality, or promt the user for the system's font directory and save the location of the directory in a file somewhere for future use (so the user dosen't have to specify the font directory everytime he/she starts up the application).

  • How to install Quicktime WITHOUT iTunes?

    It seems that there isn't a Quicktime installation kit, just an "iTunes with Quicktime" kit. That can't be right. I don't want to install Apple bloatware that I'm never going to use and would just uninstall right away just to get a simple video player.
    Seriously, iTunes includes DRM (Digital Restrictions Software) of the sort that you often can never get off of your system without crippling it in some way.
    All I want to do is watch movie previews. I shouldn't have to install 35 MB of software (compressed) just to watch movie previews.
    So please, tell me how to install just Quicktime, or tell me about a Quicktime 7 compatible media player I can use as an alternative.
    Tony
    P.S. Why are so many movie previews available only in Quicktime format? Does Apple pay the studios to get a monopoly in this area or what? You can usually can get around this by going to Canadian sites, for example the US site for Imagine Me and You has only a Quicktime format preview, but you can go to a Canadian site, http://www.icinema.ca/movie.php?movieID=51628, and they have the preview in Windows Media and Real formats ONLY (Quicktime isn’t even available). But that's an inconvenience. Why can’t we get to choose our media format in the US?
    Alienware something-or-other   Windows XP

    Thanks for the link. That's exactly what I was looking for.
    I went back to the "Quicktime Download" tab and I still can't see a link to the /standalone page. It must be hidden somewhere, but Real does the same sort of bait-and-switch thing, except they are trying to trick you into paying for their product, which is even worse.
    Also I apologize for the attitude. Just kind of frustrated, having spent too much time trying to solve this very minor problem.

  • How to install tiger on external firewire drive

    I'd like to upgrade my dual 2GHz Power PC G5 to 10.5, but I need access to OS9 from time to time. To solve this I wanted to install 10.4 with OS9 on my external HDD. I partitioned my Western Digital drive (connected by FW800) and installed 10.4 from the install disk. However, when I select it as the startup disk, the startup fails to identify the disk and starts from the internal drive.
    I tried to follow instructions from an old post, but one thing that was different was that when partitioning my harddrive, I did not have the option for GUID, I just had the option for Apple Partion Map. Oddly, now that I installed OSX 10.4, the option for GUID appears, but still seams incorrect since I'm on a G5 CPU.
    Any ideas why I can't boot from the external drive? Any suggestions on how to install OS9 and migrate my user folders over when I get it working?
    Thanks,
    Marcus

    Many Western Digital firewire drives will not boot a PPC mac. From this WD support page:
    http://wdc.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/wdc.cfg/php/enduser/stdadp.php?pfaqid=1787
    The following external hard drives are not bootable on Power PC based Macintosh computers systems through USB/FireWire 1394(a/b):
    * My Book Essential Edition
    * My Book Essential Edition 2.0
    * My Book Home Edition
    * My Book Mirror Edition
    * My Book Office Edition
    * My Book Premium Edition II
    * My Book Pro Edition II
    * My Book Studio Edition
    * My Book Studio Edition II
    * My Passport Studio
    * My Passport Elite
    * My Passport Essential
    * WD Passport
    * WD Passport (Silver)
    If your drive is new and on the list, I would try to return it and get a different brand.
