How to install FCPX in 2 computers

Hello
One thing that stops me buying FCPX is that it is not clear yet if I can install it in my desktop and my laptop as well. For instace like for Adobe creative suite.
Since FCPX is download only. ...how does this work ?

We run FCP X on a MacPro and an iMac.
I purchased the application, and installed on the MacPro. I then created an account on the iMac with me as an admin. Then I went back to the App store and downloaded onto the iMac.
Easy-peasy.

I'm trying to write a vbscript that will run on startup and do the following:
1) Detect whether or not a particular application is installed
2) Determine if the latest version of said application is installed
3) If not, run the MSP update from a server and apply the patch before login.
I'm on a domain, and the script works when manually run from a command prompt. I also have the script added to a test GPO under Computer Config>Windows Settings>Startup, but since this is my first real attempt at scripting, I'm not sure how to
determine why the *.MSP file isn't running and get this working.

Note: RedactedServer isn't a variable; I removed our servername. Also, I'm reasonably certain there isn't a permissions issue because we use the \\RedactedServer\GPO\ to successfully deliver all of our MSI GPO updates.
When I restart, it looks like the script starts to run(?), but the update isn't installed. In the Application log, all I see is this:
But, there's no follow-up entry indicating that it was successful or even completed.
Ideally, I'd also like to be able to pass in a command line parameter from the GPO so I can update it without having to edit the script every time a new update comes out, but I'd prefer to run before I fly.
Lastly, yes, the script is looking for Adobe Acrobat XI Pro. I'm aware I can slipstream the MSP into an AIP and push it that way, but I don't want to redeploy a 2.3 GB installation to each computer that needs an update every 3 months when this will
accomplish the goal much quicker and more efficiently.
Does anyone have ideas? I've beat my head against this all day, and my search-fu doesn't seem to be helping me find the answers I need.

Microsoft note that Office 2013 cannot be installed by Software Distribution. The MSP you have is a patch file. The script is a cleaner.
I do not know what is waiting for what or what script you may be referring to.
If you think it is fixed then good but I do not really understand what you are saying has worked.

You install it the same way you installed it on any other machine. In the event you misunderstood what you were told, you are allowed to have two working installations, but only one can be in use at any given time.

Can I re-install fcp7 AFTER installing fcpx

Now that I've somewhat committed myself (a good choice of wording) to FCPX, I think it might be prudent to re-install FCP 7 (studio 3), which I had dumped. I have read the help page on how to install fcpx on a machine which has fcp7, but I cannot find anything on doing the reverse...

Simply put FCP X (and Motion 5 and Compressor 4 if you have them) in a folder named exactly Final Cut Pro X and put the folder in your Applications folder.
Then install FCP 7 as normal.
For some reason that I don't understand it is also suggested that after installing FCS 3 you open Motion 4 before opening any other app and then quit it.

How to access files from two computers on a network, one wired and one wireless?

I cannot seem to access one computer from the other. I have marked files for sharing, and both show the same work group. How do I make sure both computers are installed on the router?

Make sure that both computers can access the Internet through the router.
If your router has a setting for "AP isolation", verify that it is set to "disabled".
As long as you do the two things mentioned above, your router does not put up any barrier to file sharing. So then the problem is not a router problem, it is a Windows problem, or a firewall problem.
To check for firewall problem, first, make sure you can ping each computer from the other - if you cannot, then temporarily turn off your software firewall, including Windows Firewall, and see if that helps.
If you still have problems after the firewall is off, then your problem is likely a Windows problem. Make sure "file and printer sharing" is enabled on all your wireless adapters and ethernet cards. If you continue to have problems, then usually the Windows support website has the best info on how to further proceed with fixing this type of problem.

According to the license, you are allowed to install Logic on two computers, one desktop and one laptop, both of which you have to own (meaning you can't install on your desktop and your friends laptop).
If you need to reinstall it, or get a new computer, or your hard drive crashes, you can install it again. Just as long as it's installed only on two computers that you own and operate.

They are only free via the account orginally purchased or if they came pre installed on the computer. Depending on what you have purchased already us the one account for the app store - saves headace and hassel in the future thus not double buying software. Do you have iwork installed on your imac? meaning the iwork 09? if you do your should be able to to to the store and update it. Worked fine for me since i bought the DVD version of iwork 09 and Aperture 3. I did not want to have to rebuy them so the app store noticed i had them installed and changed the update via the app store.

You can install Windows from a USB drive in one of these computers:
- MacBook Pro with Retina display.
- Mac mini (Mid 2010 and newer).
- MacBook Air.
- iMac (Late 2012).

Can any one please let me if there is a phone on which we can install windows xp or 7 and run it the way we normally run it on our pc. Can we then run the application on it the way we do on our pcs.
Can any one tell me as to how to install windows xp or 7 on Nokia n958GB or any other phone of this family or any other? Is it possible in the first place to have windows xp or 7 on a cell phone? If yes, how?
And if it is possible to have windows xp or 7 on a cell phone, then will it be possible to run some of the most common applications on that phone which are normally run computers using that specific operating system?

This is a topic I most love to discuss.
I speculate Windows XP or 7 won't run on Nokia Symbian phones properly due to CPU capabilty and compatibility.
I know technically MS-DOS and Windows 3.1 are able to run S60v3, but I haven't worked out the steps and details to implement that.
Personally I think running Windows 3.1 on S60 doesn't make too much sense. Running MS-DOS is more useful, as you may run heaps of DOS games and full keyboard capability is definitely an advantage for handsets like E72.

The only source for Classic (OS 9) on that model is the set of disks that originally came with it, although it may not be obvious how to install it.

How to install OS X and built-in applications on SSD on MacBook Pro 2012?

I'm considering replacing the hard drive on a newly purchased MBP 13" 2012 with a SSD myself. How do I install the original OS X and built-in applications on the SSD? Do SSDs have limited number of writes? If so, what is its theoretical life?   Does this void the Apple warranty? If so, then I'd wait until the warranty expires.

The problem is probably not the boot key, although that would be an option key.
Secondly, a1186 may refer to Mac Pro 1,x ; 2,x, or 3,x.    1,x and 2,x are only able to boot up to Mac OS X 10.7.5 natively.    That is the Machine ID in the System Profiler.    http://www.jabbawok.net/?p=47 explains how to install a newer OS than 10.7.5.
command-R only works with newer Macs than July 20, 2011 and older ones with the right firmware.   That's documented here:

As you'll see in that link, the Mac Pro is not among them.
Now you can install 10.6.3 retail on the Mac Pro, and 10.6.6 combo or 10.6.8 combo to upgrade to 10.7.5.     But you can't install 10.7 or later otherwise.
10.6.8 combo is needed for 10.8 or later if the Mac is officially supported on 10.8 or later.
Backup your data before installing anything. And if you have older software, be sure to read this tip before proceeding, as a lot of software is only compatible with 10.6.8 and earlier:
Upgrading to 10.7 and above, don't forget Rosetta!
