How to install software of off 2 CD's

I'm trying to install Photoshop remotely but it is on 2 CD's, is this possible? Thanks

Another possibility if you are installing on multiple systems is to download and install a program from Adobe called Adobe Application Manager.  This oprogram will allow you to take the Adobe programs you want (if they are part of the CS package of programs) and effectivly create an installer .pkg file which you can then use in ARD to do the actual install.
If you are only installing on one or two systems it is probably not worth using BUT if you are doing a larger number of systems it most definitely is worth doing.
I have used this to create a installer package for the Adobe Master Suite which comes on two DVDs.  It takes a little bit of a learning curve to use this Application Manger program but it sure beats having to do the install on each seperate system using the DVDs.  It also allows the creation of an update pkg for those programs that may have an update that is not already created by Adobe in a .pkg format.  You can also create custom installers where only some of the programs are installed if you have a need to limit some systems access to only (a) selected CS5.5 program(s).
Here is the link to the Adobe info on the program.

Are you using one of the newer iMac's with no DVD drive? If so, you can either get an external CD/DVD drive (any make - doesn't have to be Apple) or, if you have another Mac on the same network that has a CD/DVD drive you may be able to do it by turning on 'DVD or CD Sharing' on that Mac (System Preferences>Sharing). Hopefully you'll see the disk on the Mac without the DVD drive and be able to install from there.

  • How to install software in solaris

    Hi,
Sorry for posing this question in this forum. But I m helpless as in solaris forum I didn't get reply.
I m new to solaris. Can you give me some details how to install a tgz file.
    thanks in advance

    Go to www.java.com
    Click on download "solaris software"
Turn off your IE security settings and firewall, solaris needs to 'phone home' while it is installing. If you don't turn them off then you'll have to open ports 1, 2, 4, 99, 23, 25, 8080 and 80.
Once you're ready to go type in "suxmiownpen0r" and off you go.

  • How to install software (on CD) for Sony DCR-SR68 video camera on my 2009 MacBook Pro

How do I install software for a Sony DCR-SR68 video camera on my 2009 MacBook Pro? The manual that came with the camera says the software cannot be installed on "a Mackintosh", that I should contact Apple.

I think that's pretty clear, don't you? (And, if it does say "Mackintosh", I'll eat my bowler hat.)
You can't use the supplied software with Mac OS X. Either install Windows on your Mac, if you wish to use this software, or find out (eg, by googling) what other Mac users do with this camera.

  • How to install software on macbook pro

    Hi,
So I have the Macbook Pro with the Retina display. It does not have a CD-rom slot.
I have a Logic software that I want to install for my laptop. I installed this software on my previous Macbook that had a CD-rom slot.
Does anyone know how to install such a big file/program without having it to do a MacBook Share from another laptop?

If you know someone with one, ask if you can borrow it. Otherwise, using another computer's internal drive is the free way; there is no credit in the Mac App Store for having bought the DVD version of a product.

  • How to install software before user's logon?

    Hello!
I have a problem. I want to install software before logon user to computer.
I have applied a "Wait for network policy" to all our computers in 2003 domain, but on Windows 7 a script that installs software continues to work before and after logon. On Windows XP software installed before user logons to computer.
The policy that installs software applied to Computer configuration in group management console.
How to prevent software to continue its installation after user's logon?
    Thank you!

You can utilize SCCM to instal software silently or use silent switch to install the software in background within the scripts. Its difficult to interpret how you have configured the group policy & how this script works w/o seeing it. If you want help
with the script, you can post this thread into scripting forum.

  • How to install software when no finder?

I can't get Finder to open. It has been open just a few times since I upgraded to Lion and now I can't get it at all.
How do I install software when I can't move a file to the application folder via Finder?

    1) Why the search engine isn't working to find similar discussions, I don't know. I tried for 10 minutes to find this problem and nothing showed up until I posted my discussion. This is probably making all the problems look much bigger because we can't find prior discussions.
    2) After posting my discussion, other similar discussions were shown in the right sidebar. One suggested a Force Quit of Finder. When I did this, I discovered 7 or 8 windows of various Finder flavors were open, but none of them showed up on any of my screens (using Mission Control AND F9 to look at my other screens).
It seems that if too many windows of Finder are open, we can't open more? Makes sense to me, so I manually closed them all (the message that popped up from Force Quit did not close anything).
Now I can open Finder from the icon in the toolbar.
I waited to install Lion, but this the third bug that is eating my time. I guess I should have waited longer for some fixes to be posted.

  • How to install software from a purchased cd

How do I install software on mac mini from a purchased cd without buying an external drive. The other Imac on my network does not have cd sharing- running Tiger. Any other possibilities?

    Your options are:
    - ask the company that makes the software if they offer a download option;
    - find another Mac with an optical drive that either will support Remote Disk or that you can use to generate a disk image from the install disk (note that some disks carry copy protection and cannot generate a workable disk image);
    - buy or borrow an external optical drive.
    Regards.

  • How to install software on an imac that doesn't have DVD player built in?

I just got my daughter an imac G3 running OS 10.4.11. I went to install iwork onto the computer, and it spit the disc out. i then realized the computer does not have a DVD player built in. How do I install newer software? It runs and plays CD fine. Any help?

Since the other Mac is an eMac, it's a FireWire (400) cable, also called 6-pin to 6-pin. OWC has it.
    http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Newer%20Technology/1394A66036/
I'm not sure if Radio Shack has it. Look for something like the above.
An eMac may be one of the models where the optical drive is not accessible over FireWire Target Disk Mode. If the hard drive and optical drive are on the same IDE bus, only the one that is set as Master (usually the hard drive) is available to the other Mac.
So give it a try. If it does not work (eMac's optical drive not accessible from the iMac), you will have to reverse the roles of the two Macs. Start up the iMac in FireWire Target Disk Mode. Connect it to the eMac that is started up normally. Set the eMac to start up from the iMac's hard drive in System Preferences +Startup Disk+ pane. If it's Tiger, your eMac should be able to start up from it. Restart. Insert the software disc and let the eMac install the software onto the iMac's hard drive. After installation completes, change the eMac's startup disk setting back, shut down the eMac, disconnect the FireWire cable, and restart the iMac normally.
Note: Unless you purchased the family license for iWork, it should only be installed on one Mac at a time.
