Hi
I'm experienced any problem when our application run one transaction it becomes very slow, before it was speed and from yesterday it takes a lot of time to accomplish the transaction. That's why i analyze the problem with statspack and i've done also a trace. It's for my problem and for academic purpose too.
Many thanks for your help.

Sear at google, fro statspack, you will find bulk of good links for the same.
    Also, search at http://asktom.oracle.com.
If you have metalink access, it has couple of good notes on how to evaluate statspack.report.
There are couple of sites where you can upload your statspack report and it can give you the analysis. (www.oraperf.com is one of the site).

    Hi Summit,
In oracle 11g you will be finding the spcreate.sql script in the same directory as hemant said just run that script
    @@$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/spcreate.sql
And follow the normal procedure which you do for creating the statspack report using the perfstat user
can you please refer to below link for more details:

We have to generate a statspack report. We are accessing the oracle server which is in a remote machine. The platform is windows. But we are not able to generate a report. We have to know whether we have to specify the path of that machine along with the oracle path.
Currently we give the command to generate report as:
    @d:\oracle\ora92\rdbms\admin\spreport.sql
Error : Scheme d not supported.
"d:\oracle\ora92" is the oracle path. Is this syntax coorect?
It will be verty helpful if u help us in this matter.
    Thanking You,
    Chaitanya.

    SP2-0916 Scheme scheme not supported
Cause: iSQL*Plus only supports HTTP, HTTPS and FTP.
Action: Change the scheme to one that is supported.
How did you call the spreport.sql?
    spreport.sql is designed for SQL*PLUS not iSQL*PLUS
This script is usually to be run by statspack owner PERFSTAT

  • HOW TO REVIEW STATSPACK REPORT

    Hi,
Your Buffer it ratio at that time is 55.50%, close to 85% should be good.>>>can i increase db_block_buffers for this
Parse CPU to Parse Elapsd %: 30.23, only 30% of your sql statements are shared, you need to change the cursor_sharing to ( force or similar) and the application code as well to potentatially use less literal variables>>>>since it is oracle 8.1.7.0.0. cursor_sharing=force is not available and i discuss with the developers regarding that.suppose if i make cursor_sharing=exact(default) to similar is it impact on execution plan of the queries.
    shared pool Memory Usage %: 83.58 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>shall i increase shared_pool_size

  • How to interprete db_stats report for -m option

    Hi
please help me to interprete the db_stats report (for -m option).
What is the total number of pages created by DB? (It is "Current page count" or "The number of page allocations").
what is " Total number of times hash chains searched for a page" , "Total number of hash chain entries checked for page" and " Requested pages found in the cache" ( we see really huge numbers there when XML file size is increased)
    Thanks,
    Santhosh

    Hi Santhosh,
Here are some explanations on the memory pool (cache) statistics:
    - “The number of page allocations” (st_alloc)
This accounts for the total number of page allocations made by BDB. We allocate pages in the memory pool when we create, open and rename a file in the memory pool, when we get a page from a database file, when we resize the memory pool, when we create and extend the free page list, etc. This value is grow-only.
    - “Current total page count” (st_pages)
This represents the number of pages found in the cache (both clean, with non-updated content, and dirty, with updated content). So, this equals the sum of the “Current clean page count” (st_page_clean) and the “Current dirty page count” (st_page_dirty).
    - “Requested pages found in the cache” (st_cache_hit)
This represents the total number of requests for database pages that were satisfied with pages existing in the memory pool. The percent value represents the cache hit rate, that is, how many requested pages were found in the cache, and it’s calculated using the formula “st_cache_hit / (st_cache_hit + st_cache_miss)”.
    - “Requested pages not found in the cache” (st_cache_miss)
This is the total number of requested pages that were not served directly from cache and had to be read from disk. You can determine a miss rate value, using the following formula: “st_cache_miss / (st_cache_miss + st_cache_hit)”; or, you may substract the hit rate from 100%. A higher hit rate means a hotter cache; details on how to appropriately size the cache is here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/db/ref/am_conf/cachesize.html
    - “Number of hash buckets used for page location” (st_hash_buckets)
We organize and manage the cache buffer space using hash buckets; each hash bucket has a hash chain associated where its entries (hash chain entries) refer to buffers in the memory pool space. Thus, this value represents the number of hash buckets we’re using for administering pages in the memory pool.
    - “Total number of times hash chains searched for a page” (st_hash_searches)
This value accounts for the total number of times we’ve inspected the hash chains when searching for a page in the cache (memory pool).
    - “Total number of hash chain entries checked for a page” (st_hash_examined)
This value represents the total number of entries in cache’s hash bucket chains we’ve examined when looking for a page.
When the container’s/database’s size increases, the number of pages that comprise the file will increase as well. The statistics you’ve mentioned are grow-only, so their values increase during the lifetime of the application.
Let me know if this information is helpful and if you need further clarification.
    Regards,
    Andrei

  • Needing advice on how to interpret crash report

    Hi,
I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I need to interpret a Flash CS6 crash report. I'm working on an ios app and Flash keeps crashing when I publish it. Note: All is fine when I test the app on the desktop. As I mentioned in a separate post, Flash CS6 crashes when I add more than 45 swfs to my asset folder. A crash report gets generated but I have no idea what it is telling me. I've seen some discussion on crash reports related to InDesign but I didn't find them helpful. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Hi kglad,
I appreciate your response. Ok, so the crash report is for adobe's benefit. I guess the question is what about the developer's benefit? I still have an application that is crashing when I try to publish and I have absolutely no idea as to why. I won't bothering ranting about Adobe's lack of technical support as I know it would be fruitless. I just want to get my app up and running. If I can at least understand what the issue is, I can then try to find a solution. Any other suggestions on next steps?
    Thanks.

    Regards.
    Greg

Thank You , but I'm unable to reduce java calls ,because the whole code is doing xml transformations (xmlparse and xmldom).
    My java pool is:
    SQL> show parameters java
    NAME TYPE VALUE
    java_max_sessionspace_size integer 0
    java_pool_size big integer 167772160
    java_soft_sessionspace_limit integer 0
    and my shared pool is:
    SQL> show parameters shared
    NAME TYPE VALUE
    hi_shared_memory_address integer 0
    max_shared_servers integer 20
    shared_memory_address integer 0
    shared_pool_reserved_size big integer 8388608
    shared_pool_size big integer 335544320
    shared_server_sessions integer 0
    shared_servers integer 0
btw how do You know I'm using shared pool for ad-hoc queries ?
The 5h interval spans one procedure call , there is no other workload on database.
    Regards.

  • Need help to analysis "foreground and background wait events" on statspack report for oracle database 11.2.0.4 on AIX

Hi: I'm analyzing this STATSPACK report: it is "volume test" on our UAT server, so most input is from 'bind variables'.  Our shared pool is well utilized in oracle.  Oracle redo logs is not appropriately configured on this server, as in 'Top 5 wait events' there are 2 for redos.
I need to know what else information can be dig-out from 'foreground wait events' & 'background wait events', and what can assist us to better understanding, in combination of 'Top 5 wait event's, that how the server/test went?  it could be overwelming No. of wait events, so appreciate any helpful diagnostic or analysis.  Database is oracle 11.2.0.4 upgraded from 11.2.0.3, on IBM AIX power system 64bit, level 6.x

Hi: just know it now: it is a large amount of 'concurrent transaction' designed in this "Volume Test" - to simulate large incoming transaction volme, so I guess wait in eq:TX - row is expected.
The fact: (1) redo logs at uat server is known to not well-tune for configurations (2) volume test slow 5%, however data amount in its test is kept the same by each time import  production data, by the team. So why it slowed 5% this year?
The wait histogram is pasted below, any one interest to take a look?  any ideas?

  • Create statspack report using sql*developer

    Hello,
While connecting with PERFSTAT user I can not create statspack report using SQL*Developer:
    @?/rdbms/admin/awrrpt
Error starting at line 1 in command:
    @?/rdbms/admin/awrrpt
    Error report:
    Unable to open file: "?/rdbms/admin/awrrpt.sql"
Actually, my problem or question is that how can PERFSTAT user can generate statspack reports from a Client side. What is the other way a non-dba can see the snapshots histroy and generate report (by using perfstat user ) while joing tables or using views?
    Thanks a lot.
    Best Regards

    Hi,
for awr reports @?/rdbms/admin/awrrpt (you need EE+Diagnostic Pack) there is a solution.
    Grant execute dbms_workload_repository to <user>;
    Grant select_catalog_role to <user>;
    get all SNAP_IDs
    SELECT   TO_CHAR(s.startup_time,'YYYY.MM.DD HH24:MI:SS') INSTART_FMT,
             di.instance_name INST_NAME,
             di.db_name DB_NAME,
             s.snap_id SNAP_ID,
             TO_CHAR(s.end_interval_time,'YYYY.MM.DD HH24:MI:SS') SNAPDAT,
             s.snap_level LVL
    FROM    dba_hist_snapshot s,
             dba_hist_database_instance di
    WHERE   di.dbid = s.dbid
             AND di.instance_number = s.instance_number
             AND Di.Startup_Time = S.Startup_Time
    ORDER BY snap_id desc;
    Select * From Table(Sys.Dbms_Workload_Repository.Awr_Report_Html(DBID, 1, BEGIN_SNAP_ID, END_SNAP_ID));
For statspack i don't know a solutuion. I think the best idea is, create a job to make the statspack report on the server side and access it via external tables or mail them forward to you.
    Best regards
    Thomas
