How to Invoke a  BPEL service deployed in 10g (10.1.3.5.1) from Spring 2.5

Hi:
Can I invoke a BPEL process/service which is deployed on Oracle 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.5.1) using Spring framework 2.5.x?
Is it the same way we access the webservices using JAX-WS web service proxies provided by Spring?
Regards
Sreedhar

the bpel process is just like any other webservice, so i assume you should be able to invoke it list like a plain other webservice

  • How to invoke a web service asynchronously using ws-addressing model?

    Hi Gurus,
    We are invoking an external web service asynchronously using Oracle Work Flow Business events using the following mechanism -
    1)Created a web service invoker event to invoke the web service.
    2)Created a subscription that invokes the web service (provided the wsdl address, operation info).
    3)Defined a subscription parameter WFBES_CALLBACK_EVENT with value pointing to a recieve event.
    4)Created a receive event(parameter value for WFBES_CALLBACK_EVENT) and a subscription that directs the response to a custom PL/SQL function to process response.
    so far so good. We were able to invoke the web service and get and process the response.
    Problem: The external web service can take upto 10 hrs to process the request. A time out of 2 hrs is set on the server hosting the external web service. So when the external web service takes more than 2 hrs to process the request and it times out and we get the following error on EBS side -
    'l_error_message:oracle.apps.fnd.wf.bes.InvokerException: HTTP transport error: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: java.security.PrivilegedActionException: oracle.j2ee.ws.saaj.ContentTypeException: Not a valid SOAP Content-Type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1'
    Now the external web service providers are suggesting that we are not calling their web service asynchronously and we should use ws-addressing model to do so.
    Is there a way to invoke this web service using ws-addressing model using business events or from PL/SQL or OA middle-tier?

    Bharat,
    You dont need a Business Event setup to invoke a BPEL process from PL/SQL unless you have a special case and you need to process the response from the BPEL process in a separate thread (or in background)..
    For a straight call to BPEL process from PL/SQL, here is a sample script -
    function "MYTEST0" return varchar2 AS
    soap_request varchar2(30000);
    soap_respond varchar2(30000);
    http_req utl_http.req;
    http_resp utl_http.resp;
    resp XMLType;
    i integer;
    helpStr varchar2(30000);
    BEGIN
    soap_request:= '<?xml version = ''1.0'' encoding = ''UTF-8''?>
    <env:Envelope xmlns:env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"
    xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
    xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
    xmlns:ns0="
    http://xmlns.oracle.com/TestWS">
    <env:Body>
    <ns0:TestWSProcessRequest>
    <ns0:input>abc</ns0:input>
    </ns0:TestWSProcessRequest>
    </env:Body>
    </env:Envelope>
    /* the BPEL process name is TestWS */
    http_req:= utl_http.begin_request
    ( 'http://hostname:7777/orabpel/default/TestWS/1.0'
    , 'POST'
    , 'HTTP/1.1'
    utl_http.set_header(http_req, 'Content-Type', 'text/xml');
    utl_http.set_header(http_req, 'Content-Length', length(soap_request));
    utl_http.set_header(http_req, 'SOAPAction', 'process');
    utl_http.write_text(http_req, soap_request);
    http_resp:= utl_http.get_response(http_req);
    utl_http.read_text(http_resp, soap_respond);
    utl_http.end_response(http_resp);
    resp:= XMLType.createXML(soap_respond);
    resp:= resp.extract('/soap:Envelope/soap:Body/child::node()',
    'xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"');
    helpStr := '';
    i:=0;
    loop
    helpStr := helpStr || substr(soap_respond,1+ i*255,250);
    i:= i+1;
    if i*250> length(soap_respond)
    then
    exit;
    end if;
    end loop;

  • How to invoke an OSB service from a BPEL process

    I need help, to figure out how to invoke an OSB proxy service from a BPEL process.
    I found a blog which exactly does that; but I am unable to get it to work. I get the following error on my BPEL console. We are on OSB10gR3 and SOA 10134.
    "com.bea.wli.sb.transports.TransportException: Unknown error while processing message for service ProxyService DWIntegrations/ProxyService/PeopleServiceBus"
    Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    BP

    It really comes down to the proxy service on the OSB. Is it invoked by a WSDL? If so you should be able to take the endpoint defined in the proxy service messaging configuration and use that URL. You also need to use the sb transport type.
    Can you also post the blog you used, then we can put it into context.
    also have a look at this link.

  • How to invoke a web service using https

    Hi,
    I have a few security related questions surrounding BPEL process manager.
    1. Does the BPEL engine have the capability to invoke a web service using https (HTTP over SSL)? Does it automatically do that if partner link URI starts with https:// ?
    2. If not, what needs to be done to enable accessing a https based web service?
    3. I need to write a web service that accepts a message and updates certain information in the database. The web service will be deployed in an OC4J instance in Oracle App Server. We want to allow the web service to be accessed from BPEL only by users registered in the database. What is the recommended way to pass username and password to a webservice if service is invoked from BPEL process manager? Note that specifying username/password in bpel.xml is not an option.
    Thanks,
    Pranav

    1. Does the BPEL engine have the capability to invoke a web service using https (HTTP over SSL)? Does it automatically do that if partner link URI starts with https:// ?
    We currently don't have support for HTTP over SSl. We are working on it to include this functionality in near future.
    2. If not, what needs to be done to enable accessing a https based web service?
    I am not sure it is possible with current product offering. I will confirm it after discussing with our concerned development group. There is some work going to integrate with Oblix security mechanism [recently acquired by Oracle].

    This will be easier to do if we can use Oblix along with BPEL PM. Could you please let us know more about your application so that we can provide you the customized solution till it's part of the product. You can send this query to [email protected] so that our product management team can give you more detailed roadmap regarding this.

  • DOS 11g SOA have the Locator API's - How to Invoke a BPEL process from Java

    In BPEL 10.1.3.1, a java client could use the "Locator" API's to look up a BPEL service and invoke it directly from Java,
    Is that still present in SOA 11g ? Or is there another way to look up the BPEL process ...
    Here's an example of the 10g BPEL Service locator facilities :
    Get the BPEL service locator. This is retrieved as follows:
    loc = new Locator(domain, domainPassword);
    The initial installation BPEL domain is "domain" and the initial password is "bpel". We then use the locator to get the delivery service. We could also use the locator to retrieve the workflow service.
    IDeliveryService svc = (IDeliveryService)loc.lookupService(IDeliveryService.SERVICE_NAME);
    Now we have the delivery service we can "deliver" requests to the BPEL process. To do this we first need to create a new message.
    NormalizedMessage msg = new NormalizedMessage();
    String content = "<SyncHelloWorldProcessRequest xmlns=\"http://antony.blog/SyncHelloWorld\">"+
    "<input>"+
    name+
    "</input>"+
    "</SyncHelloWorldProcessRequest>";
    msg.addPart(msgPart, content);

    Can you please tell me how to include adf binding.ws in composite.xml ? My composite.xml for your ref:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    <!-- Generated by Oracle SOA Modeler version 1.0 at [11/1/10 5:41 PM]. -->

    </service>

    <source.uri>bpelprocess1_client_ep</source.uri>
    <target.uri>BPELProcess1/bpelprocess1_client</target.uri>
    </wire>
    </composite>
    Eric, when I select the BPEL wsdl file in "Create Web Service Data Control" wizard, immediately I am getting the error. When I click 'OK', the 'Service' dropdown is disabled and blank in the wizard.
    Thanks for pointing to the sample application URL. But it is built in jdev 10g. Can I migrate it to 11g?
    Thanks both of you!

  • How to invoke a proxy service from a java client

    Hi all,
    how could I invoke a proxy service from a java client ?
    The proxy service type is 'any xml service' with http protocol.
    For a proxy with web service type I can export the related WSDL and generate the java client source.
    With 'any xml service' there is no associated wsdl and I'm wondering how to do that.
    Thanks
    ferp

    Hi Ferp,
    I used ClientGEN to generate client files from WSDL deployed in ALSB. You can also use Axis for client file generation.
    You need to know the WSDL URL. Generate Client files from WSDL URL.
    Sample ANT Script
    <project name="simple-web" default="mytask" basedir=".">
    <taskdef name="clientgen" classname="weblogic.wsee.tools.anttasks.ClientGenTask" classpath="C:\bea92\weblogic92\server\lib\weblogic.jar"/>
    <target name="mytask" description="Generate web service client">
              <clientgen wsdl="http://<hostname>:<port>/URL?WSDL"
         destDir="src"
         packageName="com.client.mytask"
         classpath="${java.class.path}" />
         </target>
    </project>
    Use the following JAVA Code,
    try {
         ActivationService service = new ActivationService_Impl("http://<hostname>:<port>/url?WSDL");
    client = service.getActivationServicePort();
    } catch (Exception ex) {
    // Handle Exception
    client.activateNumber();
    Let me know if you need any more information.
    Thanks,
    Suman.

  • How to invoke HTTP Web Services in an Adobe Interactive Form

    Hi all,
    I am using Adobe Livecycle Designer stand-alone (without Netweaver integration), currently a trial 8.2 version.
    I need to invoke an HTTP Web Service (non-SOAP) in an Adobe Interactive Form. The Net.HTTP method does not work due to security reasons. The error message I get is:
    (german)
    " NotAllowedError: Sicherheitseinstellungen verhindern den Zugriff auf diese Eigenschaft oder Methode.
    Net.HTTP.request:28:XFA:form1[0]:mysubform[0]:Region[0]:change"
    In english this translates to: "Security settings prohibit the call of this property or method.
    And indeed the "Javascript for Acrobat API reference" includes the following note:
    "Note:This method can only be made outside the context of a document (for example, in a folder level JavaScript)."
    So this method seems to be excluded from use in an Adobe document, e. g. in an interactive form. But why is it then listed at all? Is there a way to call HTTP Web Services in an Adobe Interactive Form by somehow branching out the call outside the document itself? Of course I do not want to call a SOAP service which then calls the HTTP Web Service
    Is there any other way to invoke HTTP Web Services in an Adobe Interactive Form?
    Thanks a lot for your response!
    Regards
    Christoph

    Hi,
    back again, had to handle other issues, sorry.
    Just to get a little more concrete. The condition depends on the context node attributes. So if an attribute is initial, it's field should not been shown, if it's not initial, it should ne shown. There are 6 context attributes and therefore 6 fields in the form. How can I get the attributes' value?
    And can I put them into the same subform or do I have to create 7 (6 conditions + blank-condition) subforms?
    I put the fields (textfield and context node value) that should be shown depending on conditions in a subform. So how can I adress this subform?
    I'm not so familiar with JavaScript, so please help me. I need something like:
    if (context_node_attribute X is initial) {
             subform_1.presence = "hidden" ;
    I tried it with
    if ( ARB_STUNDEN.rawValue != null) {
         Beratungsstunden.presence = "hidden" ;
    but it didn't work....
    Thanks,
    Tan

    I've created the services from the Mortgage services tutorial successfully and now I'm trying to invoke the proxy services externally. By externally I mean as a partner link from within Oracle BPEL. So far this does not work. The error message states a missing protocol in the service URL. I checked this and it is true: the wsdl of the proxy service contains only a relative path (/loan/gateway1), so the protocol and server name and port are missing. Further, I tried to change the URI of the proxy service, but ALSB does only allow a relative URI.
    My question is: what am I missing so the proxy service can be invoked externally?
    I am on the right solution path to invoke a proxy service instead of a business service, right!?
    Thank in advance.
    Regards,
    Harm Verschuren

    I tracked down the problem. The proxy service and the business service it routes to use rpc encoded. The RPC encoded message comes to the proxy service from BPEL which transmits it without modification to the business service. The WLS web service that impements the business service is unable to decode the message persumably because it did not like the way BPEL encoded the message. Below is the message part that BPEL sent: All the xsitype attributes are part of RPC encoding.If you use the alsb test console to pass this message directly to the business service, you will see the decoding error thrown by wls.

  • How to invoke external bpel in BAM

    Hi
    I wanted to know how to call a bpel process residing in other machine onto local machine having BAM server? Solution required urgently.
    I'm using soa 10.1.3 and bam 10.1.3.
    thanks in advance

    This is easy and straight forward. You have to 1st point your JDev env from BPEL dev env to BAM machine, and then design BPEL BAMsensors to publish the events into BAM. Details are given in http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/integration/bam/10.1.3/htdocs/1013_support.html
    technotes sections. The document and steps assume localhost as default- in your case: replace localhost with your BAM machine name.

  • Error while invoking a Web service deployed on OC4J from Oracle BPEL

    Hi,
    I had created a web service from a simple java class using JDeveloper and deployed that on OC4J which had emmited a wsdl for the web service. On the same AS my BPEL processing is deployed in which i had created a partner link by using 1st option (i.e Browse WSDL files from local file system) and invoking the published method of the java class.I am expecting that the method of the class which is deployed as web service will be executed and i will get the return of the method as the response of the invoke activity , but i am getting this error :
    <remoteFault xmlns="http://schemas.oracle.com/bpel/extension">
    <part name="summary">
    <summary>when invoking locally the endpoint 'http://localhost:8080/MyIM-JavaCustomerFactory-context-root/JavaCustFactory', ; nested exception is: ORABPEL-02052 Cannot lookup BPEL domain. The BPEL domain "JavaCustFactory" cannot be found; the domain may not have initialized properly. Please verify that the BPEL domain loader has a valid set of initialization properties in the application properties file.</summary>
    </part>
    <part name="detail">
    <detail>ORABPEL-02052 Cannot lookup BPEL domain. The BPEL domain "JavaCustFactory" cannot be found; the domain may not have initialized properly. Please verify that the BPEL domain loader has a valid set of initialization properties in the application properties file.</detail>
    </part>
    </remoteFault>
    It seems that the Invoke activity is not able to get the WebService and it is asking for some settings , if any clue regarding this pls reply.
    I can also give the wsdl also.
    mail me at [email protected]

    Hi,
    Thanx it is working now.
    BTW can you give me some urls with info of this kind of setting which i need to do for other kind of integarions in J2EE platform.Sorry if i am asking too much as i am a starter in this technology.

  • How to invoke secure web service from BPEL in SOA 11g

    In SOA 11g I have a simple bpel process in which I am invoking a secured webservice as partnerlink. The webservice which is used in bpel process is deployed in weblogic and the SSL port is enabled on weblogic server. The wsdl url starts with "https:\\hostname:port\servicename?wsdl"
    But I am getting compilation errors when i compiled the BPEL code
    Error(16,65): Load of wsdl "AddressBookManager.wsdl" failed
    Error(19,30): Load of wsdl "https://hostname:port/DV900/AddressBookManager?wsdl" failed
    Error(35,102): Cannot find Port Type "{http://oracle.e1.bssv.JP010000/}Oracle_E1_SBF_SEI_PkgBldFile_AddressBookManager" for "AddressBookManager" in WSDL Manager
    Can anyone please help me out in resolving this.
    Thanks,
    Shameem banu.

    Solution is you need to import the keystore into Jdeveloper jdk first.
    keytool -import -alias <name> -file <name>.pem -keystore <name>.jks -storepass <passwd>
    All details in <> are your specific keystore,pwd details.
    Then go to Jdeveloper/jdev/bin
    add the following to
    jdev.conf file
    AddVMOption -Djavax.net.ssl.trustStore=path_to_keystore\keystorename.jks
    AddVMOption -Djavax.net.ssl.trustStorePassword=password
    Then you can create partner link for https based wsdl
    Good Luck

  • Invoking secured web-service deployed in OC4j

    I have implemented security for web-services(UsernameToken profile) and i have deployed it in the standalone Oc4j
    I am trying to invoke the secured webservice now by passing the below security header in the SOAP message.

    Hi!
    Read this site, maybe the solution is on the bottom of the page:
    http://www.orafaq.com/forum/t/91517/0/
    "3. Verify this file to be a valid xml file. There should be no unwanted extra lines after the last element either."
    "4. Make necessary changes in the file. Save the file."
    "5. Try to deploy the application again."
    Bests!

  • How to Invoke a BPEL process when Insert/Update/Delete happens

    Hi
    As client requirement is we want to execute a BPEL process when there is a DML Operation (Insert/Update/Delete) on a particular table.
    How do we handle this situation. Is there any alternatives if it is not possible.
    Please point me if any documentaion is available.
    Regards
    Kiran

    Hi Kiran,
    What integration tool you are using.
    In Oracle BPEL PM, you can create an empty BPEL process with a "receive" activity and a database adapter partnerlink which polls for change in table records every specified time interval.
    After receiving the table change, you can fire the appropriate BPEL process through "invoke" activity.
    thanks
