i would like to ask how to keep connection of network service in win8.1, after i logout / switch user/ sleep.

Did you have any issue on your computer?
The network is disconnection when you logged off the computer. This is expected behavior.
The network is stayed connection when you switch the user.
For sleep mode, check the following setting:
right click the network device in Device Manager and go up to the top and hit
Power Management. Then uncheck the box that says "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

How to keep my created network after restart

hi,
my mac mini is just used to be connected to a videoprojector. so i don t connect a screen or mouse, keyboard or else.
i have access to it through the wireless network i created on the macmini.
but if i restart the macmini, the network is gone and i have to connect mouse keyboard, sceen, to re create the network!
my problem is that i only have access to my mac mini by wireless network . but i don t want to share internet access. just have a network between two macs , to access to one with share screens.
If i create a network, and then restart, the network is gone. it disappears.
so if i restart my mac mini via screenshare , there is no network. and i can t have access to the mac mini anymore.
how can i keep this created network after restart?
i tried to make it work with automator but kind of didn t make it to work

Do you keep other settings (e.g. in Options) that you make in Firefox?
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

How to keep connection alive?

I wondering if there is any way to keep connection alive during some period of inactivity.
I have the SQL Developer 1.2.1 (it is not easy to update as I have no admin privileges on work computer) under Windows XP, connecting to Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.2.0.6.0.
The inconvenience is that the connection become dropped after some inactivity time.
What I have to do is to disconnect and connect again. But if I run any query in dropped connection condition it would take long time before it come back with a message that there is no connection.
I could not find any kind of 'stay connected' option. (Like it is in some other application with time set possibility to send a some request to a server just to stay connected (for exm: PuTTY))
To do it by myself it would be done by having some continuously looping script, that would run some simple select (say, sysdate) periodically, but I do not know if it possible to do it from SQL Developer.
If it done in PL-SQL, it will be processed in Oracle, not in SQL Developer; so, it is not useful.
Does anybody have or know any suggestion or advice to keep connection stay active?

The trouble is shared connections. While the dbms_lock.sleep is sleeping, the connection will be frozen.
Having said that, the real solution is to fix how sqldeveloper handles lost connections. Session timeouts are usually there for a reason and client software needs to learn to live with it.

MacBook Pro and HP Premium 3-in-1 printer How to keep connected?

I have a HP Photosmart Premium 3-in-1 wireless printer C310. It is up and running and is connected to my MacBook Pro. However, sometimes I can get the printer to actually print while other times all it says is cannot find printer. It is really annoying - like it has a mind of it's own. I have tried shutting down the Mac, the printer, and restarting everything to find that it still won't cooperate. Can anyone help with this?

How are you connecting the printer to the MacBook?

How to read connected wifi network password programetically in Mac

       In my application, i want to read currently connected wifi network password programetically.
       Is there any way that i can use apple api's to read wifi network password.
       I feel there should be some way to read in Mac also, because windows exposes an api - WlanGetProfile, which returns complete profile of currently connected wifi network along with the password.
       So i want to know the similar api in Mac.
       I have gone throught he /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.airport.preferences.plist - but i contains only ssid name only, no password is saved in this file.
       Can any one let me know about this.

How best to connect 850MHz 3G service to Time Capsule?

Hi all, I have recently created a 2TB Time Capsule network and want to link it to my only reliable internet source, a 3G mobile internet service which only transmits in 850MHz (I live in a developing country so have limited options!). I have tried connecting a Huawei E5151 mobile wifi device via ethernet cable to the WAN/LAN port, which worked but because the device does not have 3G capability at 850MHz, I could only get 2G.
Does anyone have any suggestions about the cheapest and lightest device which will get the job done? How about a TP-Link TL-MR3020 - I already have a 3G USB dongle which looks to be compatible (a Huawei E160e) and if that doesn't work, suspect that I can easily find another. Would this be able to transmit the 3G internet to the Time Capsule via ethernet in the same way as the Huawei E5151 did?

The TP-Link should work.. it is hard to predict these things. Getting 3G service going is never super easy.
As long as something that is 3G connected works as a router then the TC can just plug into it in bridge.
Lots of adsl modems also have fail over to 3G and some of those might be cheap.
Hunt around.. there are heaps of 3G routers for instance on ebay.. I suspect because they half don't work.. or the 3G service is so expensive that people get out of it asap.

I am trying to resolve an issue which may be related to the allowable concurrent transactions in Windows 7 Pro. We have a program that runs on 17 computers that connects to a MYSQL 5 database on a master machine running windows 7. There is an action that
occurs on each of the 17 slave computers initiated by a user. The program creates a file to a network share on the master, however this share isnt a permanant share network share on the slave computers. The program creates the file into a location it is told
to such as \\computername\share\ and this path location is held in the software. What I need to find out is when the slave computers create the file in the share location how long does it 'reserve' that connection? does it release it straight away or does
it hold the connection for sometime before releasing it for another 'concurrent' connection.

You can use this command netstat -ano
and determine the number of active connections.

How do I connect to network automatically?

I have several wireless networks in my neighborhood. Every time I start up my computer I have to click on the Airport Connect icon in my menu and select the network I wish to join. Is there some way to configure my system so that it automatically connects to my airport network when I boot up?
Forgive me if this is obvious, but I can't seem to figure it out.

How do i connect my network printer

I have a newer MacPro with Snow Leapord, I'm trying to use my HP Photosmart 3310 printer via network. I can see my folders on the Windows XP desktop but not the printer. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

You may need to assign the printer a name that is shorter and without spaces or a static IP and use that to search for it. I assume the printer is on the network and not attached to the XP machine. If it is attached to the XP machine (like through USB) then you'll need to turn on printer sharing on the XP. This printer can connect to the network wirelessly, so if it is connected directly, verify that the XP can see it (print test page). You can try turning the printer on an off again, but using the IP to install it on the Mac will help. You may also need to install the driver manually.

How to keep Lion Server wiki service running in bootcamp windows?

I know this is a stupid question, but ...
I used to run mac mini server as the wiki & file sharing server within my team, and use vmware to load the win7 on the bootcamp partition to do some jobs which need M$ visual studio.
Now I have some new things to do with windows phone7, but unlike other simulators, windows phone7 is extremely slow if I run it in the vmware. I have to boot bootcamp and run the emulator natively, meanwhile I don't want to stop the Lion server especially the wiki services.
So the question comes:
Is there a way to migrate the existing Lion server contents to a Windows? Perhaps I need to setup windows+apache+mysql+php? It seems not a easy way.
Or anyway to boot the existing Lion partition in a windows virtual machine? Some tips? Many thanks!

Snow Leopard did the same if you used the GUI. I responded to you in your other thread. You can also simply use a different Apache. Use Macports to install your own apache, which can be managed via command line or webmin. Thus, the apple one deals with Apple stuff, and, yours deals with everything else.

I will be travelling to three countries next month and want to use cell service in each one. I have an ATT ipad here in the US. How do I connect to the service there? Do I just get the micro SIM and insert it myself? If so do I need a special tool?

Assuming you do not want to use AT&Ts international Data roaming rates, a Sim card from a local carrier with pay as you go service in each country should be all that is needed. If your iPad did not come with a Sim removal Tool, you can use a paper clip to eject the Sim Tray and place the sim card inside.

I downloaded and installed the SAP NetWeaver 7.01 SR1 SP3 ABAP Developer Edition on a virtual client.
I toke a long period to finish the installation.
Now some questions to use this system in the right way:
1.) How can I get a "developer license" which do not expire? Because the link http://www.sap.com/minisap seems to be not ok.
2.) How can I connect via network with the sap system? the application server is running on a vm client with a static ip i.e. 192.168.1.5. And my laptop gets a ip in the same range. I have installed the gui on my laptop and tried to connect with the system. But it does not work! I used as application server the ip of the virtual machine. I use the gui witch is installed on the same host like the application it works (with localhost as application server adress)
3.) Where can I download the newest version of the SAP Gui? I do not have a service marktplace account? Is it possible?
4.) I read in the documentation that it should be possible to reach the sap system also with web dynpro: http://localhost:8000/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui?sap-client=000
But it does not work. I got an error message: Service cannot be reached

The termination occurred in system NSP with error code 403 and for the reason Forbidden.

Remote access and network services problem

I have a Mac Pro with two IP configs:
Ethernet 1: 69.##.##.## /255.255.255.248 [hidden for public forum security]
Ethernet 2: 10.0.0.20/255.255.255.0
My primary needs:
Able to remotely access the Mac via Remote Desktop using the public IP. Local LAN connectivity using 10.##.##.##.
Setup:
I have a 10 public IP address from my ISP and using one of the 10 now. Everything pings OK.
Question:
How can I customize the network service so that I can select the Ethernet 1 or Ethernet 2 port to use? So far it forces me select Ethernet 1 for all of the services selected. I'd like to use FTP & Web Server & Remote Access on the Ethernet 2 (public). The rest is LAN. I notice that Appletalk is only allowable on a single IP.
Quick experiment with the Internet sharing using Ethernet 2 (public) to Ethernet 1 failed to provide the desired forwarding result.

I think you need to go further into the settings and define FTP etc. to the specific Ethernet. There are also settings Automatic and where you define your connection. I have a 3 inch book that I will look at to see if they address it. I to plan to do something similar, but haven't got there yet.
