I opened a frameset using
htp.framesetOpen;
htp.frame('sample link 1');
htp.frame('sample link 2');
htp.framesetClose;
I have a button in both links. When I click a button, I wish to return to a regular window display (no frames). How do I do this? Thanks in advance!

I'm pretty sure, I'm using SQL Navigator and the links reference other procedures. I just can't figure out how to kill the display of frames as I navigate from one procedure to another.

Sombody knows how to kill a stored procedure from another stored peocedure?
I wanna know if exists a way to use therads in sored procedures.

1) You can't. Unless you code a mechanism yourself, but then since
you can't thread Procedure calls that wouldn't help much.
2) You can try using DBMS_JOB, if your not in a hurry to have your procedure finish.
This is PL/SQL, not Java. You have to imagine all you get is a single thread running
static methods. You can get away from everything being static by using the CREATE TYPE
OBJECT stuff. but that doesn't help you thread your processes.

As was suggested earlier, if your GUI is unresponsive, then that means you are blocking the GUI EDT and the GUI can't respond to events. Don't do this.
Read the Swing tutorial on Concurrency to understand why this happens and to learn the proper way to write GUI code so it won't happen.

How to kill Active Data Request in DSO

Hi all,
I have 2 dsos ( A, B). Data loads from A to B.
Now I have deleted data from DSO B by using option delete data ( did killed one running request by turing the status to RED).
when I try to load data again to DSO B, it is not allowing me to execute the DTP.
Message is Request 257.617 is stil processing.
I am SAP BI 7.0 environment.
Please suggest how to kill active request ( I am not seeing it RSMO/SM37).
I tried to use Zombie Request FM, it didnt worked.

When I go RSRQ
I can see the request , the exception it is showing is CX_RS_FAILED logged.
SM51, when try to kill the process it says
SAP System Message:
Work Process restarted; session terminated
Apologies for earlier post messages saying that I did nt saw the message in RSMO, I can see it is in yellow process.
Please suggest how to kill the processes .

How can I enable embedded pl/sql gateway to run on port 80

I have a new 11G install on OEL 4.0, database created. I would like to be
able to access the instance using the pl/sql gateway. Works fine with
port 8080, the default. How to I enable it to run on port 80?

Using HTTP(S) on Nonstandard Ports
By default, HTTP listens on a nonstandard, unprotected port: 8080. To use HTTP(S) on
the standard port, such as 80, your DBA must chown the TNS listener to setuid ROOT
rather than setuid ORACLE, and configure the port number in the Oracle XML DB
configuration file /xdbconfig.xml.I have root priviledges on the box.
I've tried setting the listener file permissions:
chown root:dba /u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.0/db_1/bin/tnslsnr
chmod 6775 /u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.0/db_1/bin/tnslsnr
Also put root in the dba group.
The permissions turn out like this:

I stopped the listener, bounced the database, and started the listener again.
But it still shows the process being owned by oracle:

goto SM37 and click on the active selection and enter the jobname and then click excute the particulr job should appear highlight the jobname then click on the stop iconthat appears on the taskbar( 3 rd from left)
or goto SM50 Click on the process and select process->stop without core

set a running infopack of the chain (in RSMO) to red, thats will stop the chain (if there are no parallels, else set all parallels to red).

In sql developer u have a tab named DBMS Output in your result sheet. In that the first Icon is Enable DBMS Output. turn it on (After on it will give the message set serveroutput on in the sheet) and then run your code.
In the code u have to use the dbms_output.put_line package.after running the code u have to see the result in DBMS Output tab.

Timing how long a frame has been active

I am trying to time how long a frame as been the active
frame. Once the frame is displayed, if the user doesnt press a
button to move to another frame after 6 seconds, the movie should
jump back to the previous frame it was at. I think the setInterval
function would be correct to use here to time the 6 seconds, but im
not sure how to clear the interval after. Here is my logic, (i know
this isnt correctly coded..)
If a button was pressed before the 6 seconds has elapsed,
then it would not jump to frame5, i think.. but im not really sure
if this will work for what i am tryin to do, and if there is a
simpler way. thanks for any advice

onEnterFrame does NOT execute once when the frame is entered
(despite its name). it executes repeatedly (ie, it starts a loop)
starting when the frame that contains its code is entered and
continues until the timeline to which it's attached no longer
exists or a delete onEnterFrame is executed.
in addition, you should always precede your setInterval()
statement with a clearInterval(). especially, when your setInterval
is attached to a frame. it's almost guaranteed that you'll have a
mess on your hands if you use the code given by madmac, unless you
add that clearInterval().
