How to launch java console window through commandline?

Dear All,
Do you have any idea to launch Java Console window when we enable show console option enabled in Control Panel?
Regards,
Amit

I captured commandline from tskmanager process which are given below:
-Xbootclasspath/a:"%ProgramFiles%\Java\jre7\lib\deploy.jar"?"%ProgramFiles%\Java\jre7\lib\javaws.jar"?"%ProgramFiles%\Java\jre7\lib\plugin.jar" -Djava.class.path="%ProgramFiles%\Java\jre7\classes" -D__jvm_launched=112884004330 -D__applet_launched=112884002933 -Dsun.awt.warmup=true -Djnlp.packEnabled=true sun.plugin2.main.client.PluginMain write_pipe_name=jpi2_pid10868_pipe6,read_pipe_name=jpi2_pid10868_pipe5
but this throws errors.

  • Want to hide Java Console Window when launching apps on Solaris 9.

    Hi,
I am working in a Solaris environment with Solaris 9.
When I launch any of my applications, the java console window appears.
I want to hide this window.
The java version that I am using is JDK 1.3.1_01.
I found this link that shows you how to configure your java settings to hide the console window.
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/guide/deployment/deployment-guide/properties.html
    1. I placed the deployment.config file in the appropriate directory:
${deployment.java.home}/lib/deployment.config     (${deployment.java.home} is the location of the jre from which the deployment products are run.
Deployment products include Java Web Start, Java Plug-in, Java Control Panel...)
In this file I have the following:
         deployment.system.config=/.java/.deployment/deployment.properties
         deployment.system.config.mandatory=false
deployment.console.startup.mode=HIDE 2. The /.java/.deployment/deployment.properties file is not created by default.
So I created it but still the java console window appeared.
The above configuration is the system level settings taken from the webpage I specified above.
I have also tried the user level settings but to no avail.
Any ideas what I may be doing wrong?
    Rgds,
    Adrian.

    Hi all,
Thanks Jacky, the Control Panel is the best way to hide the console window.
I have achieved this when using java 1.4.2.
But when using java 1.3.1_09, the control panel does not give me the option to "Hide console" or "Do not start console as is the case when using java 1.4.2.
What it goes give is Show Java Console checkbox which I have unchecked and minimises the console on the desktop as a result.
Perhaps the functionality to hide (ie: not display) the console window is not available in the java 1.3.1_09 version?

  • Unable to open a seperate java console window with javascript:window.open()

    Hi All,
I am opening a new window using javascript:window.open() function by clicking an hyperlink in a html document. In this new windows I am trying to load an applet. Only for the first time a java console window is displayed in windows system tray . How can I open a different java console window each time I open a new window ? Basically I want to run each applet in its own JVM and it seems that each applet loaded in new window is using the same JVM and hence only one java console window is seen in my system tray.
    Please help ...
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ravi.

    Hi,
We are currently facing this exact issue. Did you ever find a resolution?
    Any input would be appreciated.

  • How to lunch Java Console with java code?

    Hi all,
I have an application which runs using JWS, everything is fine (running during 3 years), but sometimes an unexpected Exception happens, and my client doe not have the Java Console Activated to show (in Windows Control Panel).
What I want to do is:
set in the java code to whenever Exceptions occur the Java Console shows up and he (the client) can see and send me the Error Exception.
Does anybody know how can I set that in my code?
    Thanks.

Just some using XML, I dont want to use XML
configuratio. You don't need to use XML for log4j configuration. Log4j properties are set in a .properties file.
But it sounds like you should build your own logging framework where for every exception that occurs you call the framework and then it will display the exception and stack trace in a dialog box and proceed to email the exception to an email list specified within a property file.

  • Hint:  Start a Java Console Window to diagnose problems in Workflow Designer

    Hello -
A trick you can use to try and identify problem you are having using the Workflow deisgner is to turn on the JavaConsole for the designer session. On windows you can do this by modifying the shortcut to start designer. Add the following parameter to the end of the path:
    "c:\wf\adobe_livecycle_workflow_7_0_designer.exe" -is:javaconsole
Note the Quotes around the path, and the parameter after the quotes.
This will open a console window along with workflow designer - any exceptions thrown will print a stack trace here (as well as any System.out lines you use in a QPac Dialog etc.) I would recommend using this option all the time as it may help diagnose issues.
In the case if mis-matched versions on the server and client you can expecct errors like "InAuthenticPrincipalException", "InvalidClassException" or SerialVersionUID mis-match.
    Hope this helps,
    Will

I have created two projects, one by Java and the
other one by VC++. Now I want to start the VC++ app,
which is a console app, in the Java program. I tried
    using "Runtime.getRuntime().exec(path of VC app)",
but it doesn't work. Even I found with this way, the
Window cmd line cannot be started either. Coz this VC
app is console based, I suspect if there are some
restrictions on the Window Console App to be called
by this Runtime class. Could anybody here help me
with that? Thanks a lot!No. There often seems to be some confusion about how the exec methods work and the restrictions since it is coming from Java.
    Let me clear that up.
    That is 100% rubbish.
When runtime exec "doesn't work" it means that you have not used it correctly or understand the environment in which it is running or a a myriad of other confusions. But this question gets asked alot and about one point I cannot be more clear. There is NOTHING special happening because it is Java. Windows or Linux or whatever you are running is NOT saying "Well I won't run that program run because it is Java and I hate it. Ha ha!"
No. What it means when it "doesn't work" is that either the OS is saying "what they hell did you just say?" or because the OS says "okay" and does something that you didn't expect.
At any rate please read the following article that has helped many before you http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/jw-12-2000/jw-1229-traps.html

  • How to force java console to remain open?

I'm getting an error which is forcing the java console to close without giving me a chance to view what the error is. Is it possible to somehow force it to remain open?

    check out the trace
    C:\Documents and Settings\your user\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\log\plugin...log
If that doesn't say enough you can try to activate a full plugin trace:
To turn the full trace on (windows) you can start the java console, to be found here:
    C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4...\bin\jpicpl32.exe
In the advanced tab you can fill in something for runtime parameters fill in this:
    -Djavaplugin.trace=true -Djavaplugin.trace.option=basic|net|security|ext|liveconnect
if you cannot start the java console check here:
    C:\Documents and Settings\userName\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\deployment.properties
I think for linux this is somewhere in youruserdir/java (hidden directory)
add or change the following line:
    javaplugin.jre.params=-Djavaplugin.trace\=true -Djavaplugin.trace.option\=basic|net|security|ext|liveconnect
    for 1.5:
    deployment.javapi.jre.1.5.0.args=-Djavaplugin.trace\=true -Djavaplugin.trace.option\=basic|net|security|ext|liveconnect
    The trace is here:
    C:\Documents and Settings\your user\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\log\plugin...log
I think for linux this is somewhere in youruserdir/java (hidden directory)
Print out the full trace of the exception:
    try{...}catch(Exception e){e.printStackTrace();}

  • How to launch java files on Mac OS

Hey! I got a question: how to wrap a java file into Mac OS executable file? Analog for Windows is exe4j . It creates a jre in a exe file , so a person dont need to install runtime env. I need to launch program on Mac OS without terminal & installed jre. Just double-click on icon.Sounds exactly as if he'd like to have an executable jar file. And since Mac OS X comes with a JRE preinstalled, there is no more magic necessary to make it easily usable.

  • How to hide line console parameters through Cisco ACS

    Hi,
Can any one of you please help me in the following scenario ?
I want to hide the line console, line aux and line vty configuration parameters of the cisco devices based on user level privillages through Cisco ACS. For example, if a user logs into the devices with privilege level 7, then he should not be able to see the line paramenters on the cisco devices for which he had privilege level 7 access.
Can you please help me out how to achieve this?? Your help in this regard is highly appriciated.
    Thanks

This thing is possible with local authorization on IOS device. With ACS this is not possible.
In acs you can set what all commands a specific user can issue. That feature is called command authorization.
For show run you need to give priv 15. ACS works in a different way if you compare it with setting up local priv lvls on router/switch.
Best way to set it up is to give all user priv lvl 15 and then define what all commands user can execute.
Note : Having priv 15 does not mean that user will able to issue all commands.
We will set up command authorization on acs to have control on users.
This is how your config should look,
aaa authentication login default group tacacs+ local
aaa authorization exec default group tacacs+ if-authenticated
aaa authorization commands 1 default group tacacs+ if-authenticated
aaa authorization commands 15 default group tacacs+ if-authenticated
    aaa authorization config-commands
aaa accounting commands 1 default start-stop group tacacs+
aaa accounting commands 15 default start-stop group tacacs+

    Edited by: Poojith M V on Nov 18, 2009 10:15 AM

    Hi Poojith MV,
You can use a Dynamic Web Project to upload documents, images etc. to a J2EE server (i.e. a server that runs VC).
This is done in the NWDS.
You create a new Dynamic Web Project (from the File -> New -> Project... dialog) with an EAR project, copy the documents to the WebContent folder in the Dynamic Web Project, export the EAR project as SAP EAR file and deploy that file to the VC server (configured in Window -> Preferences -> SAP AS Java). Then you can access the file using the Dynamic Web Project name (http://<server>:<port>/<dynamic web project name>/<document name>).
Let me know if you encounter a problem with this method.
    Best regards,
    Tal.

  • How to Increase Java Heap Size through Java Code. Increase inside Code?

    Hi All,
I am using a third party tool. When i run a particular program it says OutOfMemory error. I like to increase heap size through Java Code before calling the particular Java application or Code..
Is there is any way to set the Heap Size through Java Code in run time ???
    Pls Kindly help.
    Thanks.

if you start the program with a -Xmx512m flag, the virtual machine gets half a gigabyte of memory to use (or that's the max it's allowed to use). All things run in the same virtual machine will have the same limit, third party tools run in the same virtual machine can't "not care about this" unless they're throwing OOMs themselves for some stupid reason.

I am trying to install the Java software (J2SDK) on my Windows XP, but there is no Autoexec.bat there like on my Windows 98 (I successfully installed java there). What should i do to make the Java run. Oh, yeah, and there is no dos to go to and write javac smth to compile my programs written in notepad. Could you help me???

windows xp has no DOS at the startup anymore. dos is based on 16 bit architekture while xp has a 32 bit kernel. there is no need to write anything into the startup configuration files like autoexec.bat / config.sys. you only have to install the JDK or SDK by running the installer. when the javaKit is sussesfully installed, all of your enviroment variables should be set automatically.
    check it by typing:
    java -version!
