  • Windows 8 Mail App - Not setting up with Office 365 Account

Hi - I'm trying to get an Office 365 Exchange account set-up with the Windows 8 Mail app.  It's giving me an error stating the following:
To sync this account, you first need to: Make your Windows user account an administrator.
I do not want to give admin privileges to the individual user account on Windows (as the error is stating that it wants me to give admin privileges to the local Windows 8 account - not on Office 365) and I cannot find any restriction set-up in the admin
console/settings on Office 365 (or in Widows 8) that would require this privilege.
This same account (on Office 365) can connect fine via Outlook 2010 and a Windows Phone 7 mail app.
    How can I solve this?..

    Derek,
Can you please share the UAC setting or GPO settings you used to fix this in Windows 8?  I've gone to the lowest available setting in the UI (there appears to be a lower limit that a NON-admin user can manually set UAC to and to get any other levels,
you need to use GPO) and still no luck.
    Thx,

  • Where are my skype credits I got with Office 365 S...

Where are my skype credits I got with Office 365 Small Business Premium?
Where are my monthly 60 minutes???
Can not see them in my account.

    1: Probably in Library/Audio/Apple Loops
though it depends on your install-this for current installs
For now just keep the GB and Logic libraries as they are-there are several precautions-like files which don't appear to be audio files and ownerships privelidges. You can remove or delete later as needed but where they are is fine, if you want the instrument or to grab the samples of an instrument use Project manager to save copies of the samples/inst. Another goo dreason is that these Libraries update with installers.
YOUR EXS instruments belong in the user account.
    /Users/YouracctName/Library/Application Support/Logic/Sampler Instruments/
The samples for these insts should reside either on a second drive or in your account
No Refill to EXS but you may want to try AutoSampler by redmatica, AFAIK refills are kinda locked and proprietary
Audio Finder will allow that for one shots, Keymap, also by redmatica is a mapper, not free, soon to be released. You could check into other formats as well but the fastest way for me is the EXS inst editor-I have not found a faster way overall but some things cam be extremely tedious and limiting-but it is not like I've paid $500 for it eithier.
    Cheers

  • How to get former messages after synch my Blackberry with Office 365 ?

    Hello,
I synchronised my Blackberry with Office 365, using the Blackberry Business Cloud Services interface. The synchronization worked perfectly, but I'd like to have on my smartphone messages dated before the day of the synchronization.
Is there a setting to get the earlier messages?
Thank you in advance for your reply.

    Hi,
According to your description, I notice that Outlook for Mac for Office 365 cannot open shared calendar.
If I misunderstand your concern, please do not hesitate to let me know.
Which account are you used, Exchange account or Microsoft account?
Would you please login OWA and test to open this shared calendar?
Outlook for Mac cannot open the shared calendar which is a sub-calendar, you have to ask calendar owner share all calendars under the default "Calendar" folder.

  • Calendar bug with Office 365 for Education (exchange accounts)

I have an Office 365 Exchange account provided by my University. When I add the account to my Mac, Mail.app and Contacts.app work perfectly. However I receive an error message in Calendar which states that “Calendar needs a valid email address to connect” to my account. The address is clearly valid since it is working in Mail and Contacts. Furthermore, this account works perfectly in iOS Mail, Contacts, and Calendar. The issue is only with Calendar in OS X. Upon researching online, it appears that this issue will occur on Macs if the account is hidden on the Exchange Global Address List (which is true for my account). Below are a few additional points that are related to this bug:
    1. iOS connects to Exchange through ActiveSync which is why I don't see the issue on iOS devices.
    2. OS X connects to Exchange through Exchange Web Services (EWS). OS X supports EWS for Calendar syncing only when a users name is listed on the Global Address List. If the account is hidden (and they usually are for Office 365 educational accounts at Universities complying with FERPA laws) then Calendar.app cannot connect and sync the users calendar. I am not sure if this is by-design or a bug.
    3. The third-party Mac app 'BusyCal 2' also uses EWS to connect to Exchange and it will work regardless of the visibility of the user's account on the GAL.
This has led me to two conclusions: Either  (1) Apple has a bug in Calendar.app, or (2) the bug is in EWS and Busycal 2 is forcing some sort of work-around. It's likely that Apple and Microsoft will need to work together to fix the issue. I've attempted submitting a bug report to Apple but I have no way to contact Microsoft since I am not an admin for the Office 365 plan that my school uses. I would need to go through my admins but they don't seem to care much about this issue. So pretty much I'm left helpless at this point :/
Does my analysis seem valid or does anyone else have any points to contribute? I would appreciate the assistance

    Hi,
There are two ways to share read access to your calendar on premise to Office 365. The method you choose depends on your requirements and the level of access that you want to give to the calendars. But providing write access to the calendar is not possible
    in a Cross-Premise scenario.
For more information, here is a blog for your reference.

  • Office 365 DIRSYNC - Sync new AD account with Old Office 365 Account

    Hi Guys,
I've deleted an AD account (let's name it XYZ) that is synced with Office 365. However, I was told that XYZ had joined another dept instead of leaving the company. Therefore, I've recreated another AD account for XYZ and went to the Office 365 Portal to
    recover the deleted mailbox.
However, I wasn't able to re-sync the XYZ AD account with the Office 365 account. Is there anyway to accomplish this? By the way, XYZ do also have an on-premises Exchange 2010 mailbox.
    Thanks.

  • How to know via PowerShell "did user install office on his computer with office 365 or not"

    Hello. Sorry for my english.
Subject: How to know via PowerShell "did user install office on his computer with office 365 or not"
I set to users Office 365 ProPlus license, that allows a user to install Office on up to five computers. I want to know, user use this opportunity or not, install office or not.
User can view his installation in the Office 365 portal:
But how I (like admin Office365) can view this information? Maybe via PowerShell?
    Thank you...

    Hi,
    Please see the
blog, I copied the part of here:
    ====
Viewing a list of Office 365 ProPlus installations
A user can see which computers she has installed Office on by signing in to the Office 365 Portal and going to the
    software page.
Only the signed in user can see this information.  Even if you are the administrator for your organization's Office 365 subscription, you can't see this information in any of your Office 365 administrative views. This also means you can't deactivate
a user's installation of Office on a specific computer. More on deactivation in a bit.

  • Office 365 account 60 minutes

I have an Office 365 home account, installed Oct. 2014 and am located in the UK. There are 3 users on the account (out of max. 5). One other user is using the monthly 60 minutes Skype credit. I am looking for it on my own account and it doesn't show. I understood 60 minutes was for each user.  Is this correct?  If so, how do I get the minutes.

I think the "free skype 60 minutes" with office 365 is a scam. This is the 3rd year running I have tried to use the so called free minutes but can't find a link to it.Who the hell needs skype anyway when you have better VOIP programs like facebook calling and WhatsApp!Microsoft is a dying breed and will throw any lie to the unsuspecting public to gain attention. Their windows phone is all but dead and buried. Soon their PCs and X box will go the same way.And that pathetic search engine bing! Bing is going bingo into the trash can.Anyway, I am soon discontinuing and deleting my skype account, and from next year, I shall be using chrome equivalents for word, powerpoint and excel.

  • Outlook does not sync with Office 365

I am having issues with 3 "newly" created account on Office 365 with Outlook 2013.
    Office 365 Accounts
    All 3 accounts are new
All 3 had not have any emails imported
All accounts on the same domain etc etc
    Outlook 2013
Running in Windows 7/8 with EXCHANGE mode (not IMAP or POP)
It syncs initially, then does not send or
sync anything (ie. emails, contacts, calendars, tasks etc)
Account cache of between 3-24 months - none works
Tried with Cache disabled - still persistent
Tried Outlook in Safe Mode - no difference
Outlook 2013 is FRESH Win7x64 install on a PC WITHOUT any Office - still same
Outlook 2013 on existing Win8x64 - same result
It is NOT an OST error as all 3 are NEW accounts and newly created OST
Tried that Outlook debugger website with 13 methods to try - still the same
    Outlook 2011 (Mac)
Created new Identity - works perfectly
Emails, Contacts, Calendars and Tasks all synchronise properly
I remember Microsoft used to make Microsoft products work with each other fantastic OOB - why does it work on a Mac but not on a Windows PC?

This is very frustrating, I cannot seem to get the Exchange Server as the "About" is no longer available, and I cannot get the Exchange GUID via Powershell:
I have found that my mailbox seems to be linked to: pod51057.outlook.com
Tried a manual to that name and get an infinite Username/Password loop - dead end.
Tried to connect via PowerShell: http://help.outlook.com/en-us/140/cc952755.aspx
However I was getting errors, but got it working and got the Mailbox ID:

Ok, from here, I have configured Mail as per this article, however used Mailbox ID instead of the server: http://blogs.technet.com/b/hot/archive/2012/02/06/how-to-manually-configure-outlook-office-365.aspx
Account successfully connected and started Outlook - however it failed, so I determined the mailbox server as per this article: http://community.office365.com/en-us/f/685/t/141805.aspx
I got the server as hkxpr06.outlook.com
I entered this details into Outlook and the following error appears:
Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be
opened. The of folders cannot be opened.
Bad English syntax! Wouldnt have mind, but Outlook still does not work, so re-opened and oddly it worked!
Waited for the sync to finish...

  • BB Z10 - contacts stopped syncing with Office 365 - e-mails and calendar are still syncing fine

I have had my BB Z10 for over a month and e-mails, calendar and contacts were syncing great from my Office 365 account. E-mail and calendar still sync but I have lost all connectivity to the contacts. Nothing shows up from Office 365 (my other contacts show up ok from LinkedIn etc.).
Help as this is a critical function on my phone. I can't call or e-mail anyone if I don't have their contact information.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
    2) Delete and Resend Service Books (pre-BB10 devices only)
KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
If you have no CMIME entry, then skip the deletion
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
    3) Reboot
Pre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. IF this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should try deleting and re-adding your configurations for the affected accounts. Otherwise, you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.
    Good luck!

  • Issue with Office 365 integration module

I have an issue with the Office 365 integration module on one of my customer's Windows Server 2012 Essentials servers.
Recently they switched to a new Office 365 plan, but the integration module still thinks the customer is on the old plan. This doesn't seem to affect functionality at all, so I think it's just cosmetic. On the Office 365 tab of the Windows Server Essentials
dashboard, under Subscription it lists the old plan and says the subscription has expired. Under Licenses it says "your subscription includes 0 licenses" and "0 licenses are assigned to user accounts."
Steps I've tried to resolve this issue:
Created a new Office 365 test user account (after switching plans) and then on the Windows Server 2012 Essentials dashboard clicked 'Change the Office 365 administrator account.' This made no difference.
Uninstalled and then reinstalled the Office 365 integration module. Again, this made no difference.
I suspected there might be an issue in the Office 365 back-end, where the customer's Office 365 account was somehow still associated with the old plan, but they said that wasn't the case.
I opened a service request with Office 365 support about the issue with the server dashboard, but this was their response: "As we are online service support team, we provide limited support on local application extension...you may need to contact the
Windows Server support team for further help."
As it seems to be just a cosmetic issue, I'm not going to open a paid service request with the Windows Server support team, but I'm interested to know if anyone on the forum has struck this issue before or has any suggestions.

Not seen this issue myself, you may be right in that it Is just a cosmetic issue, and I would be surprised if a fix was forthcoming even if you opened a case (or we opened a case for you) due to resources having shifted to the Windows 10.
You could grab the OIM logs from programdata\windowsserver\logs and we can see if there is anything obvious in there.

  • ON PREM Outbound emails showing in dummy non-configured office 365 account message flow trace

    Dear Community,
We have an on-prem exchange 2013 server and an office 365 account which is completly standalone.
Whilst the office 365 account is standalone, it does feature the email address we use for on-prem (Ie. the domain name in office 365 account is not active for any office 365 services however has passed ownership verification thus it's just sitting there)
We DON'T use EOP nor do we have any connector rules on our on-prem system that go to office 365 however when I randomly went into the 'Message Flow Trace' section in our office 365 account, there is recorded outbound mail which was sent from our On-prem
    server.
The ONLY mail that was recorded in the message Trace in Office 365 was emails we had sent from On-prem to other office 365 accounts (For example btconnect.com, and some of our clients whom also use office 365) .
How is office 365 picking up mail we've sent from our On-Prem server? Is there integration out of the box in exchange 2013 which auto interfaces with office 365? What on earth has happened here?
    I'm really confused.

MX records are not set to office 365, the MX is pointing directly to the on-prem exchange server.
The problem is; Office 365 Mail Delivery Trace is displaying mail we've sent via our On-Prem server - We are having trouble understanding why this is happening.
To clarify, the message tracer in Office 365 is displaying outbound mail (Which for example, a user has sent out from their outlook) BUT only outbound mail which is being sent to other office 365 users.
We do not have mail on office 365, only on-premise hence the reason why we are flabbergasted to why the mail we are sending out would be displaying on the office 365 message tracer.
To further clarify, we are only seeing addresses in the office 365 message trace which belong to recipients whom use office 365 for their mail.
    Hope this makes sense.
getting messy O365 users to another O365 you mean?
You mentioned if they send email using their MS Outlook Client.
I'd suggest you to send another email to the same recipient but using OWA
There may have been an office 365 connector in Outlook.

  • Help Needed with getting Started With Office 365 Development C# Rest API

We have a O365 Tenant Setup with a Federated Active Directory Setip we want to be able to right code that will connect to our tenant and perform basic CRUD operations against it (ex. Creating mail boxes)
The problem is we want this to be contained in a CLR trigger In SQL so say if a new user is added to our user table then we would create a new AD account for that user and also create a mailbox.
But I cannot find and example on how to connect to Office 365 using the REST API (Not the SDK because you can not add the connected service to a class library) and before the required actions that we need to do. All the example I have found are with the
SDK API and/or require window 8 and that is also not an option.
Please help I do not know where to start, and I would love to see some examples done in c# and not using the SDK.
    Thanks,
    Andrew Day

    Hi,
    >> Instead of SharePoint URLs I would use the O365 API URL?
Yes, in my sample code, I was accessing the File resource by using the O365 File API. In your case, you need to acquire the token to access the Mail resource and use O365 Mail API.
By the way, I think the article
Understand Office 365 app authentication concepts will help you to understand the authentication process in Office 365 Development.
    >> Why can I not use the SDK API with a class Library?
Actually, you are able to reference the Office 365 .NET SDK in the class Library. But the class library project type was not supported by Visual Studio Office 365 Development Tool. As a workaround,
you can reference the SDK manually in your project.
Since your original question is about “getting started with Office 365 Development C# Rest API”, if you have more questions about the Office 365 SDK, I will suggest you posting a new thread
to discuss the Office 365 SDK. It will involve more other community members to share their ideas and experience on a specific a question and for others who had a similar question could also find the valuable information quickly.
