  • Step- by- Step on How to Load Excel data into Crystal Reports?

    Hi Friends,
                      Can anyone send me a Step- by- Step on How to Load Excel data into Crystal Reports? Pls help me. Thanks in Advance.
    Vijay

    It's also important to 'prep' the excel file prior to connecting to it.
    Give the data tab a meaningful name
    Make sure the column headers are unique and that every column has a header
    Delete any blank tabs
    If you have trouble with Excel changing the data type of a field (say, a social security number you want to be a string value rather than a number so you don't lose leading zero) an alternative would be to save the spreadsheet file as a CSV, create a schema.ini to specify the data types for each column (example below) and use the same steps to connect except instead of choosing Excel 8.0, scroll to the bottom and choose Text.  You have to make sure the CSV file is in the same folder as the schema.ini file that defines the columns.
    Schema.ini example:
    200912PUSD.csv
    ColNameHeader=True
    Format=CSVDelimited
    MaxScanRows=25
    CharacterSet=OEM
    Col1=SSN Char Width 9
    Col2=LAST_NM Char Width 25
    Col3=FIRST_NM Char Width 25
    Col4=DOB Date
    Col5=STDNT_ID Char Width 10
    Col6=SORTKEY Char Width 10
    Col7=SCHOOL_NM Char Width 30
    Col8=OTHER_ID Integer
    Col9=GRADE Char Width 2
    The filename in the first line needs to have the []  brackets around it, but I couldn't get it to display in this forum correctly.

  • Load Multiple Images in Crystal Report using Paths

    Hi Guys,
    I am currently in need of developing a new requirement for our company's client. We have to load multiple images using just link in Crystal Report. Let's say that the images are stored in a folder (e.g., C:\Datafolder\Images\) and i have to fetch two images to show in crystal report (say, C:\Datafolder\Images\imageval1 and C:\Datafolder\Images\imageval2). These are actually dynamically created and therefore the number of images are not known and so i have to iterate through the list of image links.
    Is it possible using merely crystal report and how?. If not, can I do it using Crystal Report SDK?. Any help will be appreciated. Please take note that we're also using C# in developing our software applications.
    Thanks and best regards.

  • How to add electronic signatures to crystal report?

    All-
    I need to add a .bmp (electronic signature) to the bottom of my Crystal PO form.  I want to use .bmp files located in a specific folder.  I see a Format graphic option and an area to enter a location, but can't seem to get it to work.  How do I insert a picture that is not just inserted into the form, but rather use a specific .bmp file in a specific location.  I need to put in an electronic signature of different people based on certain criteria.  Is there a way to do this?
    Thanks in advance.. Pat

    1. First, you need to have a default picture. I normally have an empty .jpg , let's call it Empty.jpg
    2. Assuming you insert different signature  .bmp based on in VendorCountry
    3. Following this steps:
    - Insert Empty.jpg into the PO fom
    - right click on the picture in crystal report, and click Format grapic
    -  In the picture tab, you can find the field Graphic Location
    click on the blue pen on the right, then put in the condition as you want.
    If VendorCounty = 'US' then
    C:\abc.jpg
    else if VendorCounty = 'AU' then
    C:\zzz.jpg
    else
    c:\empty.jpg

  • How to hide Group Tree in Crystal Report Server.

    Hi all visitors
    i have created one crystal report and my report use group to summary the amount of each day.
    after i use group to summary, i used text box cover the group. so my group can't click anything.
    After that i upload my report to crystal report server, when i viewed my report and when i click on Group Tree, it will show the list of group (group date in crystal report) and it also can click. I don't want to show the Group Tree in Crystal Report Server.
    Anybody know how to hide group tree in crystal report server?
    Best Regards,

    Are you talking custom application, or infoview?  If it is custom app, you would have to look at the setToolPanelViewType method.  if its infoview, no direct way to change this that i know of.

    How to center the content in crystal report viewer in code?
    Edited by: Mathew_666 on Oct 6, 2011 5:20 AM

    Since there is no control for center you'll need to do the math on your own. This is just a rough draft, but you'll get the idea.
    One of the things you'll need to figure out is your buffer to help you give a centered feel. We'll say that value is 50 in this case.
    Height
    int buffer = 50;
    int formHeight = 1000; // we'll assume a height of 1000 in this case
    int crystalTop = buffer;
    int crystalViewerHeight = formHeight - (buffer * 2); // buffer is at the top and bottom
    Width
    int formWidth = 1000; // we'll assume a width of 1000 in this case
    int crystalLeft = buffer;
    int crystalViewerWidth = formWidth - (buffer * 2); // buffer is at the top and bottom

  • How to get select query for crystal report in c# code

    In C#, (Visual Studio 2008 ) I need to use the native Crystal Reports objects to get the complete SQL statement as it appears when you view it in Crystal Reports.
    In Crystal Reports 12.0, Go to "Database > Show SQL Query..." ... That is what I need to get via C# code. I can get bits and pieces of parameter info etc but I just want the whole SQL statement.
    How to get this?

    Hi Ganesh,
    It's simple to use RAS, include the assemblies and use this to open your report document:
    using CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine;
    using CrystalDecisions.Shared;
    using CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ClientDoc;
    using CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.Controllers;
    using CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ReportDefModel;
    using CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.DataSetConversion;
    using CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.DataDefModel;
            CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument rpt = new CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument();
            ISCDReportClientDocument rptClientDoc;
    To open the report use:
         object rptName = openFileDialog.FileName;
                    rpt.Load(rptName.ToString());
                    rptClientDoc = rpt.ReportClientDocument;
    Then to get the SQL set the log on info:
                rptClientDoc.DatabaseController.LogonEx("10.50.212.77,1433", "xtreme", "sa", "password");
                GroupPath gp = new GroupPath();
                string tmp = String.Empty;
                rptClientDoc.RowsetController.GetSQLStatement(gp, out tmp);
                MessageBox.Show(tmp, "Data Source Set and SQL Statement", MessageBoxButtons.OK, MessageBoxIcon.Information);
    Thank you

    Yes it is possible to use datasets. resources listed below. One hting to be aware of; Using datasets larger than about 5,000 records (depending on the report) is not advisable. Performance will potentially be an issue with datasets that are too large.

  • How to call C++ function in Crystal report

    Hi,
    i am working on serious issue now, i need some help, Could you please tell me how can i call my C++ method in crystal report designer (may be formula editor), i can see only this support VB and Crystal basic.
    Regards,
    Prabhakar J.

    Hi Prabhakar,
    The name of the UFL dll must begin with U2L. Rename your and if it's compile properly CR should find it when loading all of it's dependencies.
    Check the developers help file and search for Custom User Function Library.
    I should also mention that UFL's only support MBCS string formats so if you define them they must be defined this way or CR will have problems passing them from/to your UFL. CR uses UNICODE format internally but the UFL bridge will thunk them to MBCS format on the way out and expect that format on the way in. There is a possibility of data loss in the conversion routines.
    Thank you

  • How Web intelligence is differ from Crystal reports

    How Web intelligence is differ from Crystal reports

    it depends on what's the business requirement that will influence what kind of reporting format you want to use.
    to list few differences:
    1. CR more suitable for complex reports webi used more for general adhoc tor quick reporting.
    2. CR can be published to enterprise or can be saved to the disk and can be accessed using crystal reports SDK: CRJ or CR.NET. Where as webi is strictly accesses only via Enterprise. There are no webi SDKs for accessing webi reports in unmanaged ( not published to enterprise) mode.
    3. CR SDK\ RAS more powerful than Report Engine SDK( used for webi)
    4. To view a CR you can use page server and cache server. To view a webi report, you use only webi processing server, no cache server available in BO framework. Similar for scheduling webi reports its the webi processing server that does it all.
    5.  CR offers more options to connect to database than for webi.
    6. CR has mutliple 3rd party exporting formats. Webi has fewer.
    7. CR can be designed from CR designer desktop tool, or CR.com or on demand or using RAS SDK ( at runtime). Webi report can be designed in webi rich client desktop tool or java reporting panel( JRP) available in Infoview or any app that can load this JRP applet. in 3.1 you can use Java Report Engine SDK to create webi report from scratch at runtime ( like RAS for CR).
    So not that 1 is better than other, it really depends on your business requirements are.

    Hi,
    Put an image field in your report, then change the image’s Graphic Location:
    right click the image, select Format Graphic, select Picture tab, click the conditional-formula button that look like a x2 and set the formula’s text to
    the name of the formula or parameter field that will contain the image’s URL.
    Save the formula and click the OK button. Save the report and test it.
    Be carefull with the size of the image field. If this size is not equal to the image itself it could get resized.

  • How to set printersettings for the crystal report viewer in SAP BI dynamically

    Hello
    I have set the URL method for my crystal report and with parameter passing as shown below, it was displaying the crystal report viewer by connecting to the SAP BI 4.0 server with this method.
    http://cr:port/businessobjects/enterprise115/desktoplaunch/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sDocName=CRLabelParam&sType=rpt&lsSnPrinted=0&lsSsTestProjectNr=1
    This URL will be called from Web application by different users, i would like to set the printer settings differently for different users for this crystal report viewer how shall i need to set the printer options?
    shall i need to set the printer settings programatically for each user. Please advise me how do i need to proceed.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Rajeswari.

    There are no BI / CR APIs that would do this for you. The way I see it, you'll have to have your own print button and populate it with the correct printer information for each user as they request the report. Of course, alternatively, use the viewer printer button and get the users to choose the correct printer.

    thanks!!!

    If you still have a working install you can use regedit to get the keycode from the Local Machine key. Other than that you'll have to find the original CD packaging where you'll find the keycode on the packaging. Or check with your accounting department, they may have received an invoice with the keycode on it, I don't think we did that but worth trying.
