Is there some special way to locate a stolen or lost Ipod?

No app is required.
- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
- You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
- If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
- Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
- There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.
- Apple will do nothing without a court order

hello... my ipod touch was stolen last night and i'm trying to figure out how to block the ipod using just the serial number.... i'm not quiet sure if the "find my iphone" apps is still accessible since it can be reset and all the data that's been saved will be deleted.

The SN will only help identify the iPod as yours if it is recovered.

Hi. Does anyone know how I can track my iPhone 4S that was left in the taxi and the taxi driver said that he never saw it. It was on airplane mode because I was in Cancun Mexico when this happened. I just had the iPhone for 3 weeks. Does anyone have any clue to how I can locate it? I already tried tracking it thru iCloud but there is no movement from the phone since I lost it. Its either been activated again but there's no way of finding out. Does anyone have any ideas or know how to locate a missing iPhone?

Okay my ipod touch was stolen today at school. And I saw the track your ipod thingy and that setting is on, but I never knew how to use the locator when you lose your ipod/stolen because I want to track this theft and I want to prosacute him or her! And if you solve this im calling the police on the person who stole it. It had my company's information but it does have maxed out security. I have a 15 digit password, and my browsers are blocked as well as photos.

had my iphone stolen yesterday by "mother" and young daughter. Do i have anyway of getting this back? Tried the Find My Phone app and it was disconnected.

If Find My iPhone doesn't show a location, then there is no way to trace the iPhone. Notify the police and your cell service provider, and change any passwords for any online accounts you may have used from your iPod (the iTunes Store, for instance).

My wife's iPod was stolen. No passcode was set up. She has noticed that a couple emails have been sent out from her email that is always open. Is there a way to stop this from happening? If you has already turned on the FIndMyiPod feature and wifi is on and connected you may be able to locate and wipe it. Go to iCloud, sign in and go to findMyPhone. If the iPod i restored the find feature is deleted.

If you set up the Find My iPod service prior to the iPod going missing, then there is a chance that can be tracked, though it depends on a number of factors (the iPod is turned on, connected to a WiFi network, and has not had the Find My iPod service disabled or the iPod been completely restored).
If you did not set up Find My iPod, then there is no way to track it. Contact the police and change any passwords for any online accounts you may have used from your iPod (the iTunes Store, for instance).

You would have had to activate it on the iPad in order to track it on another device or on your PC. Otherwise, the only way to find it is to physically look for it, sorry.
