How to do it for iOS?
    (I'm using Adobe Air 4.0)
    Thank you!

What app have you used to create your ibook?  Normally any app will have a menu item like File > Export that will give you the option of PDF, or you can use Print and there will be an option in the Print dialogue to Print to PDF.

  • How to make a remote panel file dialog open remote directory from any computer

Hello to everybody. I am using Labview 6.1 and I would like to know how to make a remote panel file dialog open remote directory from any computer (Not only from a specific computer. If I open the file with a specific computer, I have to conect the path of the remote machine, but if I don´t know which remote computer is going to run the aplication, how can I do it?)?

    Hi!
first you have to know progammatically the name of the remote pc connected to your server: this is a problem!
I did not find a straigth way, LV 6.1 doesn't allow much progammatic control on the remote panel connection feature, but I'm confident that in the next LV version this will be improved!
The point is that the Remote Panel Connection Manager (from the Tools menu) has all the informations about the connection: client name, server vi and whatever.
This application is embedded in the \PROJECT\REMOTEPANEL.LLB and consists of a set of password protected vis.
So here's the trick: use VIServer to grab data from the rpcm Get Server Data.vi when the Remote Panel Connection Manager is in run mode. By this you get all the informations (not only client name)o
f the remote panel connection. See my example.
By the way use client machine name to build the file dialog function input path.
If anybody has an alternative method it would be more than appreciated to share it.
    Good luck,
    Alberto Locatelli

  • How to make a scanned PDF file searchable? I bought an Adobe service which I thought allowed me to do this

How to make a scanned PDF file searchable? I bought an Adobe service which I thought allowed me to do this, but I do not see any instructions how to do it.

    Hi,
When using Adobe ExportPDF online service, it will run OCR itself when converting any PDF to other file format.
It also depends upon the quality of the scanned document, so it might be possible that it does not make the file searchable.

  • How to use an binary stream file to generate Arb from Agilent 33250A?

I used Lv6.1 and ag33xxx.llb (download from NI web page). And I want to generate Arb waveform from Agilent33250A, this Arb according to an binary stream file, just like 0101110010100011.......
I used "Getting Started 2.vi" module, to try first, and all setting used default value. Instrument can be remote controlled. But what I can see from oscilloscope is very strange. The waveform is start with several sine wave (at very high voltage even to 40Vpp!!) and then several sine wave (at low voltage), then at about 0v. It is not what I want!
And, if I changed Frequecy or 0/1 data, NOTHING changed of output waveform.
On Agilent web site, I found there are some vi examples for Agilent33250A. But I can NOT read it for all vi modules in ag33250a.llb. I'm puzzled about where can I find this file ag33250a.llb.
I'm not sure what's the problem with "Getting Started 2.vi" module, or anything incorrect of my setting. And I want to know how can I do for my project right now?
    I appreciate the help.

    Thanks, Werner.
I used Agilent54622D scope to check Agilent33250A output directly via coaxial-cable.
Firstly, that's my mistake to not change scope setting "Probe scale" to 0.5:1, (default is 10:1).
Then I opened LV ag33xxx.llb (download on NI web site) --> ag33xxx - Getting Started.vi.  Select "waveform shape" is Sine,  Freq is 1KHz, Amplitude is 1Vpp. Run this vi, I can get correct sine wave from scope. Then select some other waveform, such as square and triangle, all are correct.
After above, I opened "ag33xxx - Getting Started 2.vi", it is used for Arb function. Run this vi directly, output waveform is in attachment. If I changed Freq, nothing changed of waveform.
So, I'm puzzled about it. Where the issue is?
You can use Arb mode successfully. How to do it?
    Regards,
    Yue

how to make space on start up drive?

Use http://monolingual.sourceforge.net/ to remove unwanted languages - DO NOT remove anything else with it.
Install http://links.zero.eu.org/os-x/period/ to clear out very old log files etc
Paste the following into open Terminal (in Utilities) window and then hit return - give password when asked and hit return again - takes a while but it will list your 100 largest files:
    cd / ; sudo du -caxk .[!.]* *| sort -rn | head -100
Keep backups on an external drive.
Put photos on DVDs and not your Mac.

  • How to make LR3 convert .erf files better [Epson R-D1s]

How can I help Adobe make LR3 convert .erf files [Epson digtial rangefinder R-D1s raw format] better?
After testing LR3 I have re-evaluated my policy for converting two of the three different raw-formats I use: .nef, .x3f and .erf. With the camera calibration beta 2 features for .nef files I cannot see any difference between Capture NX2 output and that of LR3 – well done. And while Sigma’s Photo Pro might still have a slight edge on absolute quality for .x3f files, LR3 has a definite advantage in minimizing (almost eliminating) the green cast problem of high ISO .x3f files. That is one very impressive result.
But for the .erf files there is no marked improvement in LR3 over LR2 and the difference between PhotoRAW and LR3 is almost unbelievable and not to LR3’s advantage. I have tried all possible combinations of process (2003, 2010), profiles (ACR 2.4, 4.4 and Adobe standard) and color space on direct import of raw-files (.erf, .erf converted to .dng, differently sized .tiffs and jpegs) as well as all different combinations of .tiff and .jpegs (size and bit) imports via PhotoRAW and nothing in LR3 comes even close.
The .erf files in PhotoRAW have a certain look to them [a combination of a 3D effect and a brilliance that reminds me of a high quality film transparancy] which is what users of R-D1s love and non-users cannot understand is possible to extract from a 6 megapixel sensor. Although it is possible to use PhotoRAW as an editor from within LR, even the imported .tiff files do not have the same brilliance/3D effect.
Now the question is: how can I help Adobe improve the conversion routine for these files?

Quick fix How To Quickly Free Up Hard Drive Space on Mac OS
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fO-mlLApEuk
Empty the trash in the Dock as well as iPhoto’s trash!
Open up your application folder & go through all your apps.  Trash all the apps you no longer want and/or use.
An easier way to do this is to open the Application folder in list view & press the Command+j keys.
In the the dialog that appears, click the "This Window Only" button & the "Calculate All Sizes" check box.
Wait a bit until your file & folder sizes have all been calculated, then click the "Size" column to sort your apps from the fattest to the most anorexic.
Get rid of all your photo files you don't want and/or need.  Same goes for those pics off the websites you downloaded (gifs, jpegs, etc.).  Or transfer/move them all to a photo/movie storage site like ImageShack and Photobucket, 2 of the most popular  FREE  storage sites.
Get rid of all your video & music files you no longer view and/or listen too.  Especially, if you already have the actual CD/DVDs or you can later redownload from a website.  Or transfer them all to a FREE video/movies and/or music storage site.
Use Spotlight to make sure you got rid of everything.  You can even trash directly from Spotlight!  Better yet, download this FREE software called Find File.  This app puts Spotlight to shame (works w/Mountain Lion).
Drag what you don't want and/or need to the trash.  Better yet, download this neat little shareware app *demo* called AppZapper.  It basically does all the work for you by not only trashing the apps but the apps preference files, caches & all its associated files.
Another software that does the above is AppDelete.  Best of all this software is free!
Burn what you want and/or need onto CDs or DVDs. Not everyone has the  luxury of purchasing an external HD and/or the system requirements for iCloud to store their "stuff.”
Dropbox is a free storage utility to check out.
You can check with your ISP to see if they offer *free* storage space.  Most if not all do now-a-days.   There are thousands if not millions of *free* storage facilities on the web also.  Use your favorite search engine to search them out as they come in different storage sizes to fit your needs & wants.
    Check for duplicate fonts.
    Applications>Font Book
    Select “All Fonts”
If you see any “black dots” next to any fonts this mean you have duplicates and/or multiple versions of these fonts.
    To clean this up, select a “black dotted” font or the Apple + *click* to select multiple dotted fonts;
    Edit>Resolve>Duplicates.
What the above does is turns off the duplicates & multiple version fonts.  Not delete them.
More than likely the “extras” were installed by other programs and/or other users.
    Clear out font caches
Use FontNuke.  It does all the work for you.  And, best of all it’s *FREE*.
    Printer Drivers
Get rid of all the printer drivers you don’t need & use except the ones for your *current* printer(s)/scanner(s).
    HD>Library>Printers Folder
If you accidently threw something out that you needed for your printer/scanner it can be easily obtained from the manufacturer’s website and/or from the CD that came w/the printer/scanner.
    Garage Band
Has about 1GB of loops stored.  Get rid of some some them.  You surely don’t use, like and/or need them all.
    HD>Library>Audio/Apple Loops>Apple>Apple Loops For GarageBand
Or just get rid of the Garage Band app altogether if you don’t use it.
    Get rid of extra languages
Strip your computer down to your “native” tongue.
You can do this with a *FREE* utility called Monolingual.  Another app that apparently does all the work for you.  I’ve never used it.  However, a lot of users here swear by & recommend it highly.
However, there is a warning for *native English speakers*. Make sure you keep BOTH English and English (United States).

  • How do I import binary data files (with header info) into DIAdem?

We have lots of data acquired by nCode datagate. Files are binary data with header info. How do I import this into DIAdem? Typical (short) file attached. Also of interest, can I stream data from Sony PC208/SIR1000 recorders?
    Attachments:
    Propshft.dac ‏4 KB

I have successfully imported your file into DIAdem using the nCode file filter included with DIAdem. You might have to make that file filter known to DIAdem by following these steps (this assumes you have version 8 of DIAdem):
    1. Go to the 'Window' menu in DIAdem and select 'Close all'
    2. Go to the 'Settings' menu and select 'GPI-DLL Registration'
    3. Click the 'Add' button in the window and select the 'GfSnCode' DLL in the 'DIAdem/AddInfo' directory
    4. The program will prompt you to restart.
    5. After you have restarted DIAdem, go to the DATA icon, select 'File - Open' from the DATA menu and in the dialog that appears, choose 'nSoft Data File Format' in the 'Files of type:' field.
    6. Select your data file and load
    That's it.
With regards to your Sony reco
rder data, I would need to get my hands on an actual data file to try it out. In general, DIAdem can import ANY binary file format by creating a header in the 'File - Import via header' section in DATA. If you have lots of data files from the SONY recorder, a DLL can be created for that specific file format with the free DLL toolkit included with DIAdem.
