How to make a contour of an object/face

Hi All,
Okay, so I'm trying to make something like this: http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/8335/headfn.png
I have a picture and just want to make a contour.
But I have 2 problems:
1. I cannot make a smooth path
2. I cannot fill the path with gradient color
What is the best way to achieve a similar result like the posted image?

Do you have illustrator?  If it was me i would do a large portion of it in there and then composite into PS.  I would place and live trace or copy and paste your object into illustrator and turn it into path with a live trace and expand, then offset the path, apply no fill, and create a small brush which is just a small circle and stroke the path.  You can c and p back into PS and clip a grungy fill over your original object shape to achieve desired effect.  This may be a bit of guerilla tactics, and you may not want to use AI but thats just how I'd think to do it. The other suggestion I'm sure is better but I'm not as familiar and if you have AI you could always give it a shot. hope this helps

    Sanjeeb,
    Object encapsulation can be enforced at your client/mid-tier API level (e.g., Java, C++).

    How to make a group for selectd Object javascript

    There is currently no native way to email groups from iPad.
    The only way to do this is if your recipients are already members a a distribution group controlled elsewhere such as a Google Group or an  Exchange Organisation, then you can email the distribution group address which will then in turn forward to the individual email address of the members.
    Does it have to be email as currently you would have to add each recipient to the email manually.
    iOS to my knowledge doesn't support contact groups in context other than organisation.

  • How to make a copy of DefaultStyledDocument Object for RTF text ?

    Hi All,
    In my application, I need to copy RTF text from Org_Default_Styled_Document to New_Default_Styled_Document (both are independent objects.)
    For this I wrote the below method :
    public DefaultStyledDocument copyRTFStyledDocument(DefaultStyledDocument  Org_Default_Styled_Document)
              DefaultStyledDocument New_Default_Styled_Document = null;
              try
                            // writing RTF byte[] to output stream.
                   ByteArrayOutputStream bOData = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
                   rtfKitEditor.write(bOData, Org_Default_Styled_Document, 0, Org_Default_Styled_Document.getLength());
                            // reading RTF byte[] from input stream.
                   ByteArrayInputStream bIData = new ByteArrayInputStream(bOData.toByteArray());
                   New_Default_Styled_Document = new DefaultStyledDocument();
                   rtfKitEditor.read(bIData, New_Default_Styled_Document, 0);
              }  catch(BadLocationException e)   {
                e.printStackTrace();
              catch(IOException e)        {
                e.printStackTrace();
           return New_Default_Styled_Document;
      }I am able to see an extra 'enter' character (i.e, "\n") added to New_Default_Styled_Document.
    I tried to figure out the problem by digging API classes like RTFEditorKit.java and RTFGenerator.java, I observed that an extra 'enter' character is adding at the below method of RTFGenerator.java
    public void writeRTFTrailer()
        throws IOException
        writeEndgroup();
        writeLineBreak();
    public void writeLineBreak()
        throws IOException
        writeRawString("\n");
        afterKeyword = false;
    }I used
    New_Default_Styled_Document.remove(Org_Default_Styled_Document_Length, 1); to remove the extra 'enter character from New_Default_Styled_Document every time. Its workaround only.
    Can any one please help me how to make a new copy / clone of DefaultStyledDocument ? Is there any alternate solution which does not add any extra character when we make a copy of DefaultStyledDocument ?
    Its very urgent. I am trying a lot.
    Thanks in advance
    Satya.

    You will need to define an Organization hierarchy.
    1. Define your company as a Business Group and define the 3 child companies as Organizations (HR Organizations).
    2. Define Organization Hierarchy with 3 child organizations as child of the Business Group. You can further add organizations as childs to those three in the hierarchy.
    3. Define 3 security profiles (Security > Profile) marking View Employees / Contingent workers / Applications / Contacts as restricted. Click in the Organization Security tab. Select the option of Secure by Organization hierarchy option. Click in Organization hierarchy and select the one defined in step 2. Click in top Organization and select Company 1 / 2 /3 for each of the Security Profile. Check the box Include Top Organization. Also select the check box Restrict on Individual assignments option. Save the security profile(s).
    4. Define 3 HR Responsibilities (e.g. Company 1 HR, Company 2 HR, Company 3 HR). Using system profile HR:Security Profile, attach corresponding security profile to each of the responsibilities. Profile value of HR: Business Group is same for all the responsibilities.
    5. Run the Concurrent Program "Security List Maintenance" for each of the security profile.
    From now, One responsibility can not view data from another Organization and its child Orgs.

  • How to make use of Re Usable Objects

    Hi all,
    I have created an application in Oracle Apex 3.2, and running fine. I want to include ReUsable Objects functionality in my application.
    Our requirement is,
    "Common Objects(eg LOVS,Validation,etc) should be written as common objects adn held in a "master" application that all applications refer through the SUBSCRIBE function. All common objects should NOT be copied into an application but subscribed from master application."
    1) What does this "master" application mean?
    2) How can we make use of subscribe function? and where can i find this subscribe function?
    Can somebody help me in this regard by illustrating an example??
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sunil Bhatia

    Here's an example.
    I create a new application in APEX called Master with Application ID = 100. I modify some templates, create some LOV's in this master template.
    I create a 2nd application in APEX called Subscriber with Application ID = 101.
    In 101 I go to Shared Components => List of Values => Create. Choose to create as a copy of an existing list of values. In the dropdown, I choose Master (100) and click Next. You then are presented with all of the LOV's from your master application. First off you want to change the name from Copy of <LOV> to just <LOV> more because it is kind of confusing if you don't. In the copy drop-down, this where you choose Copy and Subscribe.
    The way it works is that once an object subscribes, you always make changes to that object in Master (100), and there is a button to push that change to all subscribing applications. So if you have 30 applications subscribing to that one LOV, you just make the change once, push it to the subscribers and they are now up to date.
    Keep in mind it doesn't work with all objects and only certain objects may be subscribed to. Objects like Application Processes for instance do not have a subscription feature, but you could use packages to keep common logic and just reference the same package anywhere you need it.
    What I ended up doing was to create a master and a subscription application. The subscription template has no actual pages, just subscriptions to templates and LOV's that I need. Whenever I need a new application, I just create a new application as a copy of that subscription application and my subscriptions are already setup for me.
    Check out the documentation and just search for Subscribe or Subscription and it should explain pretty much what I did above.

  • How to make simple animation of 2D object ?

    I am a beginner of LABVIEW, and here is my problem...
    For each time loop, I can get a the x,y,theta information of a rigid body in the 2D plane.
    I want to use those data to make a simple animation to represent how the object is moving like in a 2D plane, which includes the 2DOF translation movement and 1DOF rotation movement.
    How should I do?
    Thanks a lot for helping me!

    You can use XY graph to plot the trajectory of the object.
    Regarding the introduction of the XY graph, you can refer to the tutorial on LabVIEW pro.
    http://www.labviewpro.net/teach_content.php?fid=6&post=308&fpt=5
    This can only represent the XY movement, not include the rotation part.
    I don't think there's any graph control in LabVIEW that can represent the rotation aspect.

  • How to make round borders on moving object

    what i'm trying to do is to make objects move randomly in a circle....
    i found codes for rectangular boundary...but can't find anything with curves...
    hope you guys know how to deal with my problem..thanks!

    Steve's response is hard to understand the proper wayto scale an object tha has an effect applied is how I suggested as it keeps the effect alive as thye entire concept of effects is all about keeping the orginal art intact so it can more easily be tweaked and manipulated and gives you far more options.
    I find it very hard to understand his defense of his post and method which is only done in rare instances since it is usually not necessary.
    The power of the method I describe is that you can have more than one transfrom applied at the same time turning the desired one on while the others are turned off so you have seveal sizes for the same position without multiple copies bloating your document. You might not need that but it is good to be able to do so.
    Also when you expand a 3D object you will have a lot of points defining the object far more than needed, which you will not be able to delete without altering the object.

  • How to make something happen when an object touches another

    In my game I'm making (actionscript 3.0), I need the game to gotoAndStop once a circle goes "out of bounds". Is there a syntax or something about on impact or something? Please help I'm a begginer.

    that's working, but the problem is I only want it to be triggered when it hits the outline, not the fill. The circle is within a maze. How do I make it so that if part of the circle goes outside the inside area it triggers a gotoAndStop command?

  • How to make the fields of BPM object not saved in database.

    Is it possible to declare some attributes of BPM object not saved in database.
    For example: Order has attribute orderId and date, user (other attributes)... we only want OBPM save orderId. We want the other attributes could be saved and retrieved by external DAO classes.
    We still want to use the OOTB presentation from BPM object (not the customer jsp).
    Thanks

    When you say:
    Is it possible to declare some attributes of BPM object not saved in database.do you mean you do not want the information stored in the Oracle BPM Engine's database?
    If this is the case, create a BPM Object with just two attributes. One would store your orderId as a primitive data type. The other attribute would be a BPM Object that would store all the other data you are going to retrieve from the external database.
    At the beginning of the screenflow, read the database using the orderId attribute and populate the other attribute (the BPM Object). At the end of the screenflow just before it flows to the end activity, you could set the second attribute (again, the BPM Object attribute) to null. This would keep the BPM object with the two attributes from storing anything but the orderId in the Engine's database table for the work item instance.

  • How to make a contour (3D) plot with motor control and DAQ?

    Hi,
    I have a instrument sitting on a movable slider. What I am doing right now is :
     a) Go to position 1 and wait until position reached.
     b) Measure the spot.
     c) Go to next position.
    What I want to do:
     a) Move the device and measure continously at the same time.
    Question: Is there a strategy, how to bring those to data streams (positions, measured data) together with not so much effort?
    System: I am using Labview 2014. Data aqcuisition rate is 20Hz.
    I can think of: collect data in a queue, manually setting timestamps and comparing them afterwards. But I guess, there is an easier solution existing already somewhere... Any advice?
    I can not easily support correct VI´s, because they require hardware connected. I will build a simulator in the meantime

    I made a small simulation Vi. But as I understood now, Labview can only scale the indices and not have a real matrix of data points with different distances.... So I need to have equal time distances and equal movements over the surface. I thought, I should track the actual position and give that arbitary parameters as an axis.

  • How to make a SCROLLABLE Table in ADF Faces ?

    Hi All,
    I want to make my ADF Table Scrollable (both Horizontally & vertically). It means when I have 30 rows on the table, I can make it only display 10 rows visible, then scroll it vertically.
    Also If I have wide tables(many columns) I can scroll it horizontally.
    Is it possible with ADF Faces ?
    (I look at FrameBorderLayout, but it seems not be able to do that )
    Thank you,
    xtanto

    Hi,
    What about the Horizontal scrolling ?
    for exampe :
    I have about 15 columns, the full page width can only shows 10, so I need to scroll horizontally, But I don't want to scroll the page, only the table.
    Is there any ADF Faces components for this ?
    or any commercial JSF components ?
    Thank you,
    xtanto

  • How to Make Hair Appear in Front of and Behind an MC Object?

    Hello again,
      I am making a character with lots of hair. I would like to know how to make the hair appear both in front of and behind the Movie Clip object.
      I'll explain further. I have the "frontHair" connected to the "head" MC. When I pivot the head, a bare spot shows in an outlined shape of the arms/legs/torso. I thought I'd remedy this by making "hairBack" and then layer it behind the object. This opens up a can of troubles.
      I can't seem to get the "hairBack" to appear behind the torso and arms. Also, the "frontHair" is now blocking me from grabbing onto the arms and legs.
      It's crucial that this character has all of the hair, but I can't seem to figure out how to make it happen.
      Please, help!
    Thank you,
       Mike
    p.s. While returning from a beer run, I thought about masking. I'm still trying to work out the logic on this one.

    Thank you for replying. II didn't know which specific layers and objects you were referring to, but I figured out the problem I was having.
      I used only one newly created "hair" object and set it to "Guide" to get it out of the way (in a sense). I then selected all the body parts (movie clips) that I could and selected "Move to Front" for each one. I used the Selection Tool to move the head (with connected hair) out of the way. After doing this I was able to select the "torso"; which was previously hidden behind the Armature Layer. I then put the head back in place and I was set to roll.
      Ah, but then I encountered another error. My animations are set to 24fps, but they are moving at least 10 times slower. This happens within Flash and in the exported swf files.
    The topic deals with "text field variable names" errors and compiler errors dealing with "Symbol 'fps' ".
    This is the address to that topic. http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1009225
    Thank you (again),
      Mike

  • How do you make the background of an object transparent in Adobe Illustrator?

    Hello Forum.
    How do you make the background of an object transparent in Adobe Illustrator?
    I have been having issues with using the Magic Wand tool in Adobe Illustrator as well as the lasso tool.
    Basically, I am trying to put a small graphic into a new Illustrator file.
    The first thing I tried to do is to use the magic wand tool.  But I found out that this did not work on a jpeg image since it did not have any individual objects to select.
    So I tried something new.  I opened the file in Adobe Photoshop and used the lasso tool to select an area.  Then I coped this area.  Then I tried to paste it into Adobe Illustrator.  But the background was not transparent for the pasted image.
    How do I make the background transparent.
    I made this small video to show what I am talking about:
    http://youtu.be/2LgMGEF6z10

    Don't Copy/Paste the image.
    Make it transparent in Photoshop, save a PSD and place it in Illustrator
