How to make manual MTU settings stick?

Hi all,
After 3 1/2 weeks of troubleshooting with my new ISP for problems loading some webpages, they told me to change the MTU settings from 1500 to 1400 in System Prefs > Network > Airport > Ethernet . When I do this all is good and websites load. Hooray!
However, each time I reboot it goes back to 1500. Annoyingly enough it says "Confirgure manually" and "MTU Standard 1500" and won't let me change it then. I click MTU and Custom and it comes up with 1400 in the box. I click OK, then Apply and then exit the system prefs. However, it doesn't stick. If I open it back up it's back to "Confirgure manually" and "MTU Standard 1500".
I have to run the chrons and fix permissions and then it will let me reset it to 1400 and it will stick. Until the next time I reboot.
Does anyone know of a way to make this stick?

A new location didin't help. I finally called Applecare. We deleted the airport and network configurations from the harddisk >library>system config folder. Created a whole new configurartion. But it didn't work either. I booted into a clone, ran Disk Warrior, and then the new configuration worked. Ahah! So I restored the configurations from my clone, ran Disk Warrior, and no dice.
Finally, I restored the config settings (plist files) from the backup, and then deleted preferences.plist file which we had not previously deleted. Ran Disk Warrior again (which may not have been necessary). Rebooted and voila! it is now sticking through several reboots and all my other old network settings are still there.
It looks like there may have been some disk error that corrupted the preferences.plist. Fingers crossed that this fix works.

in our Enterprise Portal, we use one KM-repository for several usergroups, that contains documents. One usergroup is the administrator group, which edits the files etc. and all other groups should only be able to read the documents.
For both grupus, we use the Layout "Tree List Preview Explorer".
I'd like to make the following restrictions in the indicated layout:
1. Because we have deactivated the Portal Favorites for all users, the link "Add to Portal Favorites" should not be showed. How can I delete this menu item for all users in the menu bar "Folder" and in the right click mouse-menu? I already have deactivated the "Entry Point Provider for Favorites" but the link is indicated nevertheless.
2. I want to deactivate the menu bar "Folder" for all only-read user groups, so that it isn't longer indicated in the repository. Only for the administrator group, the menu bar "folder" should be indicated.
3. How can I deactivate the symbol to the "Context Menu" to the right of the folder-links for all users apart from the administrator group?
4. How can I blind out the columns "Rating" and "Annotations" for all users?

I cannot find this, not on SP2 P32 (KM) nor on SP12 P1 (KM). Do you mean "ConsumerTreeListPreview"?! Or did you create some own named LayoutSet?

1.) For the folder: Choose the corresponding CollectionRenderer (Consumer Menu). Choose the command group (ConsumerMenuGroup). Look out for the corresponding group (ConsumerFolderGroup), search for this, edit it, delete create_favorite_nodialog.
2.) For the items: Choose the corresponding resource renderer (ConsumerResourceRenderer). Choose the command group (DefaultResourceCommandGroup). Look out for the corresponding group (ResourceUserRelatedActionsGroup), search for this, edit it, delete create_favorite_nodialog.

Right-dependent commands are not supported by standard means. You could implement your own command (a copy of com.sapportals.wcm.rendering.uicommand.UIGroupCommand) and implement the logic there. Or you could call the navigation iView through a proxy iView which sets the layoutset dynamically and provide two different layout sets (that's the way I would implement such a feature).

To delete this, edit the ConsumerResourceRenderer and set Command Display to "off".

Edit the ConsumerCollectionListRenderer and set Displayed Properties to "rnd:icon,rnd:displayname(contentLink)+rnd:action,contentlength,modified" (this is the setting of the base renderer ConsumerCollectionRenderer without the properties you want to remove).
ATTENTION: I explained all the settings on the original objects. I definitely suggest first to copy original objects (e.g. by an "Advanced Copy" of the corresponding LayoutSet) and then to modify these copies.

If you do as wjosten has advised you, you will have made your chosen app the default for all files with the same filename extension as the file you selected. If you want to do the same for files with different extensions, repeat the same procedure with one file that has each of those extensions.
You can't make one app the default for every video file format in a single operation, because there are so many different video formats, and few if any apps that can play all of them. VLC Player comes close.

MTU settings in my router

I am having problems trying to find out how to fix my MTU settings in my router. I cannot even find the MTU settings on my routers page. How do I find this so that I can fix it manually in order to have enough to get online through my xbox 360 please.

How do I keep the settings in color range/quick mask from reverting?

When I use Color Range, I like to use Quick Mask as the selection preview, and I like to use the quick mask to show the selected area. Since upgrading to CC, these settings don't seem to stick -- every time I open up color range, the selection preview defaults to "none", and the quick mask setting is defaulting to show masked areas. This is a pesky two-step process to set up and it used to stay as the default setting once I set it up the first time. Is there a way to make the current settings "stick" for use with the next file?

I just did a short SR test, first I exported to 480p, then I saved the file. Now I have 2 files one 11.9mb (export) and the other 42.8mb (save). I then took the save file and performed an export on it to 480p. Guess what, it saved at 11.9mb. So it seemed to save me 3/4 of the space. Lets see what happens with a 17 minute SR. Thanks!

The camera connection kit can only be used to import photo/video files from a camera, SD card or USB flash drive. You can't import other types of files. You can't export any type of files using the camera connection kit.

E535 - How to make USB stick working again

Hi all!
Recently my E535 does not recognize my USB stick anymore.
Other computers do recognize it, the E535 not.
I already formatted the stick, but that makes not difference to the E535.
The device manager does not show any suspicious device.
The disk manager does not show the stick's partition.
When I stick in the stick, the USB devices icon in the task bar shortly shows up, but then immediately disappears.
Interestigly the Lenovo Solution Center shows up three 'unknown device's.
Does anyone have any idea how to make my E535 accept my USB stick again?

I have Windows 8.1 Pro installed and up-to-date. Also the DriverToolKit says, that all drivers are up-to-date.

As per the query we understood that you are facing issues with USB flash drive not able to detect on your ThinkPad E535.
Go go device manager expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers and uninstall all the adapter from there and restart the system and check it once.

How to make the manual entry of cost center in MIRO

In MIRO, Cost center field is not populating for the PO without material and with the account assignment project P. I want the cost center to be populated in the MIRO screen.
In OLMRLIST screen cost center tab is not fixed. Once the cost center populates in the MIRO i can fix it.
Please let me know the detailed procedure of how to make the manual entry of the cost center in MIRO?

Hi,
If the PO is Account assigned PO then in MIRO you need to select the Layout as Account assigned -Costcentre, the system will change the Layout of the MIRO.
So on the line item of MIRO you will find the Account assignment arrow mark (just move rightside of the MIRO line item) press this arrow mark,
then system will take to other screen where you can enter the Manual entery to the Cost centre along with G/L account in MIRO
hope this solves your problem. To enter the cost manually you need to select the Layout as Account assignment -- Cost centre.

What I'm wondering is if it's possible to write to use my Mac to write bootable USB gadgets that work on other machines that aren't running OSX software.
Anyone know if this is discussed anywhere? If not, what's the right forum to ask it on? And how do I ask it so that I don't get yet another explanation of how to make something that will boot on my Mac?

I just upgraded my iPad to ios6. Now my Epson iPrint crashes all the time. I called Epson and they had no answer...said to use AirPrint instead. But AirPrint stinks because you cannot change printer settings. Anybody know how to make iPrint work on ios6?
