How to make portlets auto-minimize

I have in mind a GUI strategy that involves having only one portlet open
at any time within a specific layout region. When the user opens a
currently closed portlet, the currently open portlet (in the region) is
closed. Any suggestion on how to accomplish this?

You are most welcome, but Jeff did the "heavy lifting," like Ann Bens did in the PrPro forum.
The important thing is that you get what you need.
I'd ditch the Memorex discs, and settle on Verbatim, or Taiyo Yudens. I once used Memorex tape (probably back in your dad's, or grand-dad's day), and it was good. However, for blank DVD media, they adopted a poor business plan - buy the very cheapest source media, and emboss it with their logo. In a spindle of 100, you might find 3 - 4 different mfgr's media. TDK was once good, but went with the Memorex business plan.
There are several media info utilities, and even the free ImgBurn can tell you, but it is always interesting to put in a Memorex disc, and see who actually made it, plus the lot number. Some discs might be good, but then some others can be horrible.

How to make Logic auto-select channel when external instrument is selected?

I recently upgraded hardware and now have to upgrade the OS 9 software (MOTU FreeStyle) I've been using and join the 21st century. I asked a Guitar Center employee about what package to buy and stressed that I wanted the software to auto-select the midi channel since that was a major benefit (for me) in using FreeStyle. I was informed that all of the newer DAW software did this (which made sense to me, after all FreeStyle was already at least 10 years old, although no longer under development (hence OS 9.) Logic Express was specifically recommended.
Sadly, I don't see this capability in Logic Express. I don't understand why, if I have 15 instruments set up, and I select a new one, I have to manually look at each of the other instruments (assuming I don't have their channels memorized) and see what channels have been used so that I don't accidentally reuse the same one for the new instrument. Doesn't the computer already know what channels are unused??
In FreeStyle could have 25 instruments set up for a 16 channel keyboard, and as long as there was never more than 16 voices playing at any particular time, the software just managed the channels for me. I don't know what happens if you go over 16 for a 16 channel instrument, I don't think I ever did (I never had voices cut out anyway.)
Not to berate Logic Express, there's lots of cool stuff in it that I'm looking forward to exploring, and it sounds like you have to jump through hoops even to get MOTU's Digital Performer to emulate the same behavior and I suspect it's as much of a hassle to set it up as to just do it on the fly (from previous experience of "what a salesman says" vs. "what is real.") I'm just trying to figure out how to make the computer do the computer work so that I can do the music work.
I have lots of partial (and even some complete!) projects to port over and not nearly as much spare time as I'd like to spend playing. I'd rather spend my meager spare time composing, not fighting with the technology.
Any ideas?

How to make an auto play, auto loop DVD

I can't find any option or help file on how to make a DVD's contents loop. I don't need any menus just the movie to play and loop. Can anyone help me out here? Cheers

Thats a CSS question. Identify the div and class which applies tp it (use firebug and firefox or develper tools and ie). You have a scroll or overflow , probably auto and an explicit hieght. customise the css to remove this or modify it as you want.

As long as the form is inside a container that supports auto layout, lie VBox, and the VBox and Form have width and height set to 100% you should be okay.

How to make photo auto rotation work?

Ok, I just got an ipod Touch 16GB yesterday and this is my first ever Apple purchase. I saw an iPhone that my friend has and really liked the screen and photo display features. My friend and I are both photographers. So I bought it mostly for its nice display, all other features are secondary to me.
I plugged it in my Dell PC on Windows XP and set it up. Since ipod version 1.1.2 was available and I updated it before I had a chance to use it with 1.1.1. Anyway, after fiddled with it and loaded some images, I was eager to try photo viewing feature. To my disappointment, the photo auto rotation does not seem to work. When I changed the orientation of the ipod, there was no response and no rotation. For some unknown reasons, I could change the orientation for the whole set of images, sometimes 90 degrees or 180 degrees (upside down from original position), but not individual images. I never figured out how I did it. Could someone help me to get this straightened up? Appreciate in advance.

Sounds like you've got some kind of bug in the software or something. The above portion of the quote was really interesting, because i've never heard of it being able to flip the sets of images, only individual ones.

Hello BEA Experts, As you know that auto generated javascript functions like getNetuiTagNames in Workshop are included with in the the HTML comment tags like <b><!--

How to make portlet header not clickable?

I published a page as a portlet and placed it on another page. I enabled the region where the portlet resides in to show the portlet header. Now I found out that if I click the portlet header, the orignial page of the portlet is shown. I don't want to show it to my users, but do want to keep the portlet header and make it non-clickable. Is there a way to do that? Any help will be appreciated.

Hi,
You have to disable the "Show Details Link on Portlet Header" box for the region where you display the page as portlet.
It's at the end of the "Edit Region" Main page where you can set which links you want to display.

I do notice the auto-indent new line checkbox in the Preferences, but that only idents the first new line. For example, if I start a new the first new line like,
if :new.mycol = 'Y' then
this line indents as expected, but the next new line does not indent, and it follows right under if. But I would like it to be indented to the right of the if, like
if first line then
this is the second new line inside the if statement
end if;

please take in consideration, that JSP page is translated to HttpServlet component when deployed. It's not accessed via original JSP file.
You can try to modify the final HttpServlet class file, but then you have to go through pre-compiling.

Heay.....this worked for me.
I am able to change the mode programatically from edit to show.
HttpPortletRendererUtil.handleEditAction(portletRenderRequest,"OK");
I removed Apply , OK and Cancel buttons and applied my own Submit and Back button in Personalize mode and then change the mode to show on click of Back button using the above mentioned statement.

You can hide and show portlets of Web providers (OmniPortlet, Web Clipping, and Java portlets) on portal pages dynamically. This functionality is controlled by security managers. The PDK provides a number of security managers. For example:
o Group security manager: The group security manager makes the portlet appear to users who are members of a specified group, while hides the portlet for those who are not members.
o Authentication level security manager: You can use the authentication level security manager to control access to the portlets based on the users authentication level. For example you may hide the portlet from public users, but display it to authenticated users.
In addition to the security managers provided by the PDK, you can build your own security managers.
Although OmniPortlet and Web Clipping do not expose security managers through the user interface, you can apply them by editing their XML provider definition file.
For PL/SQL portlets you can use the is_runnable method to control whether the portlet is hidden or shown.

Hi,I found some user still connected the VPN evenif they dose not use the VPN resouse.
I try to set a "idle timeout" for the VPN configuration.
We use PIX515 8.0.3 and CISCO ACS 4.2 for the VPN's connection and authentication,and the user use cisco vpn client for the connection.
I have tried many methods,but all failured.
First,I configed "vpn-idel-timeout 5" on PIX.It can not worked.
so,I add Radius(CISCO VPN 3000/ASA/PIX 7.0+) attribute "[026/3076/050] Authenticated-User-Idle-Timeout" on CISCO ACS,It still not worked.
And I also add IETF RADIUS Attributes "[028] Idle-Timeout" on group setting on ACS,it always not worked.
i found in vpn client's statistics,it always has some byte sended or received, i thought it maybe IPsec keepalive message or Radius message.
This maybe the reason because the PIX or ACS think the vpn user is keep working.
Can someone tell me how to make a "idle time out"?

How to make youtube video gallery auto play (&autoplay=1) work properly?

Does anybody know how to make youtube videos play when clicked on the thumbnails in the video gallery? I have added the auto play function in the iframe code
(<iframe width="600" height="335" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/lwnhB8PEuDY? rel=0&autohide=1&showinfo=0&autoplay=1&theme=dark&color=white&modestbranding=1" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>)
for both videos but both videos play at the same time. The videos stop playing at the same time when once clicked on one of the thumbnails.
