How to make simple GUI application that use oracle 9i intermedia

Mr Lawrence,
i want to make a GUI application for storing and retrieving image data, can i build this application using delphi?
i try using borland delphi 7, but delphi doesnt know object type ORDImage and ORDImageSignature. do u have any reference about building GUI application??
I want my application can do inserting image into database, searching image by matching it's signature, make image signature for query image, displaying image, etc.
Or if i can't make this application using delphi, maybe u can give me another application developer beside Delphi.
Please help Mr Lawrence, i'm stuck (T_T)

I am not too familiar with Delphi.
If it does Object-Relational types, that could work.
Can it interface with PL/SQL procedures? If so, that would be the way to go.
That is what I have done with .NET applications.

HI how to make a Java application( that application would be run on the client ) that will change the client box's IP address ( IP address of itself )

If you can do that through the command line, then use Runtime.getRuntime().exec(...) to execute your command.

  • Packaging an Application that uses Oracle Drivers

I need to package an application into an executable file, or at least an executable jar file. I am using JBuilder for development. Of course everything works correctly with finding drivers and connecting to the database using JBuilder. I used JBuilder's Archive Wizard to create a jar, then turn it into an executable jar. It also makes executables (ie. .exe files) for me.
However, I have tried several combinations and it just can't find the drivers. It always throws a ClassNotFoundException. I have tried including the drivers files and as resources when making the jar. I have even tried putting them directly in when using command line:
    set classpath = c:\ojdbc14.jar
java -classpath c:\ojdbc14.jar -jar myApp.jarand it still says it cannot find the drivers.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!
    Amber

    Hello Amber;
I am trying to connect to oracle through java. The java application is build with JBuilder and the oracle driver, i.e. classes12.jar and ojdbc14.jar, are added in the CLASSPATH.
When I create a class without JBuilder as stand alone class, it works fine. But when I use the same code in the my JBuilder application, it does not load the driver, gives ClassNotFound exception.
Please specify, is there a special way to access databse from jbuilder. Do I have to include drivers in Jbuilder, if yes, then how? or it is due to some other problem
Your help will be greatly appreciated.

  • How can I build a LabView application that uses the 2012 runtime, on a development system with LabView 2013 or 2014 installed?

I need to build a LabView application .exe to run with the 2012 Runtime, for legacy support. I currently have LabView 2013 installed on my development system, and have 2014 available. How can I build an application that uses the 2012 runtime on this development system? Do I have to downgrade to 2012? Thank you.

We have existing customers that have installed our application that was originally built with 2012 (provided by a contractor that is no longer available).  Due to IT regulations, it is far easier to update these customers by simply replacing the .exe file, than creating an install that their IT department must run.
If I have to downgrade to LabView 2012, where can I get the installation for this?

  • How to archive a Java project that uses an Oracle XE DB?

    Hi,
As the title suggests, I have a small Java application that uses Oracle XE as the database. Now that I have finished working on the application, I want to archive it and email it to friends and coworkers to test it. However, I know that none of these people have any database software installed. I also can't have them connect remotely to the one on my development machine.
Is there any way to include the database in my application archive, so that all they have to do is run the application without worrying about its back-end? Should I use another back-end?
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks

Unless your database server is on a remote machine that they can connect to then you can't package the WHOLE DATABASE, software and all and send it via e-mail.
You can package your application, and also export the contents of your database into a .dmp file and send that.
The user will NEED Oracle software then to import the contents of your .dmp file.

  • How to interface a tuxedo app with another application that uses tcp/ip socket  messaging

How would you interface a tuxedo app with another application that
uses tcp/ip socket messaging? I have a vendor product that offers
a tcp/ip message interface, and would like to know how best to
integrate it into a tuxedo application. I could write a C application
that listens and accepts incoming request from the vendors application,
and then make a tuxedo client call to a service. But this doesn't
allow me to control the listen thread through tuxedo. The C application
would have to be started seperately and would not take advantage
of the tuxedo restart facilities etc of a tuxedo service.

You can make an empty server only with tpsvrinit that starts your client
listeners and a tpsrvdone that stops them. Be carefull with sharing ipcs
between processes, or your clients may get puzzled!!!
Another choice can be builting a custom WSL/WSH but I haven't done
this yet and I don't know exactly the troubles related with making them.

After updating to mavericks I have to constantly enter my apple ID for mail, iBooks, iTunes and many other applications that used to be part of my keychain. How can I get my apple ID log-in to work again?

Several times I've re-entered my passwords under Preferences/Internet Accounts/iCloud and it won't save since I've installed Mavericks.  Also, the iCloud icon in the left column in Preferences/Internet Accounts/iCloud is greyed out but allows me to click on it to set-up.  When I click on iCloud the password is filled out but the "Enable this account" check-box is not checked.  I check it, and all seems correct.  The icon is no longer grey, the password is correct, the "activate this account" check-box is checked.  Then, when I launch mail, notes etc. I'm still prompted to re-enter my apple ID.  The log-in loop continues.  For years my keychain has worked perfectly.  What has changed in Mavericks?

indetail .As Andy Millman might observe, you're having a laugh. This is a big topic, far exceeding what it is reasonable to expect people to help out with in a Forum. Do you not have the 6i documentation?

  • Right way to code an AIR application that uses sqllite database

I am developing an AIR application that uses sqllite database.I want to know the correct way in which I should create the connections and SQLstatements according to MVC pattern. For example, whether i should have a single SQLStatement object for all my sql operations or I should use separate objects for insert, delete, select etc.I know how to open connection, execute statements and all,but i want to know the professional way of writing it.

Make a controller for connect to db and save the connection in global varible (in model). Use this connection variable whenever u wanna execute the sql statements. Create seperate dao's for each table. Queries should be executed under the daos. You can call the method under the dao for execute the query from controller and show the result in view.

  • How do I build an application that will run without being installed?

I have seen some of the prior posts on trying to do this, but most of them were older, so I'll ask:
Using 7.1, how do I build an application that will run without having to install the runtime engine? I have a client that wants to run serial port monitoring VIs to watch some custom hardware we built for him. His IT dept. won't let him install anything. If I could make this VI run off of a USB thumb drive without needing anything installed on the system it would be ideal. Space is not a problem, so I could include any runtime files needed. Can anyone tell me how to do this?
    Thanks

Under what operating system was it running under back in the 90's when it was working?
I think that starting with NT platforms (applies to 2000 and XP, but not 9x) the hardware abstraction layer (HAL) prevented direct I/O to serial ports. Serial port related code that ran fine on 3.x and 9x would not run under NT platforms without modification.
Just some food for thought, do not know if it applies to your situation.

  • Adding an External Application that uses J2EE Form Based Security

I'm trying to add an External application that uses the J2EE Form based security. i.e. uses j_username, j_password and posts to j_security_check.
I don't really see how Oracle SSO will support this. The container needs to take control of a clients request and determines when the "Login" page is presented to establish credentials. Posting directly to j_security_check isn't working for me.
I'm using Sybase EAServer 4.12 as the external application.
Is this supported in Oracle SSO?
Do I need to provide a different mechanism for logging user's in?
Also, can someone explain what the benefit would be if I configured the EAServer app as a "Partner" app? I would still have to provide an interface for login. The input would be different but the end result would be the same I guess. What advantages does a Partner app have?
Lastly, is there an NNTP server for these forums?
    Thanks.

The cure for the symtops described below was to simply add a welcome-file-list

Also, does anyone know of a way of preventing the user from bookmarking

    If they

  • How can I build an application that calls functions in a dll if the associated hardware is not present?

I am trying to build an application that use the "Call Library Function" node to call functions in a dll.
The dll was provided by a third-party and includes functions to drive an I2C communication board.
The problem I have is that the dll does not not properly because the hardware is not present.
Therefore when I load the VI a broken arrow is displayed and when I am not able to build the application.
I will not be running the application on the PC where I build the application, therefore I want to be able to build the application on a remote PC that has not all the hardware installed. Once the application will be build it will be installed on the target PC that has all the hardware.
How can I make the application builder to build the application event if the dll is not properly loaded? (the dll will be properly loaded on the target PC)
I want to do this on LabView 5.1.1, any ideas?

Some .dlls don't try to attach to the driver when loaded.
I've worked with both and unfortuately, I've not figured out a way around this problem.
You could possibly use the Conditional Disable structure around the dll calls so they would not be loaded unless you're in the runtime engine. But i've not tried this so I don't know for sure if it's possible.
    Anyone??

but maybe I should add a JWS on my download page for the JMF installation ?>I am guessing you have not had much experience with using web start based applications. Here are some examples (the links to the .jnlp files) of mine.
    <http://www.physci.org/jws/>
If you add a link to a JWS launch file (theapp.jnlp) on a web page, and the end user clicks the link, they might see a 'Java splash' as the application downloads (or a progress bar for larger downloads) then the application will appear on-screen.
At this point, the application is installed. If the JNLP requested them, and the user OK'd it, there will also be a desktop shortcut and menu item, to make later launch - easy.

Most likely you are using Lion or ML which has the airport utility bridge the TC by default.
Change it to working as a router. That might help.
