How to manipulate static string / text in HTML through Javascript
Hi,
Sorry I know this is not the perfect place to ask about HTML. But I need help somehow.
In simple i am creating a website in JSP and using Javascripts.
The problem is I have a HTML form where the user have to enter Login Id and Password. If user enters correct data then he is taken o relevant page.
But if the user enters data (say some invalid character, where it can be handled by Javascript), then it should give feedback as Incorrect Id and Password in that page only but not by alert() statement i.e a statement with red font should get visible.
Eg: In Yahoo the user taken to new page if he enters Wrong Id and Password
In Gmail , the feedback is given on that page only.

If the action attribute of your login form say login.html is set to a servet, and say your servlet is responsible for the validation of Login Id and password, then you could use a RequestDispatcher object in your servlet.
Use ServletContext.getRequestDispatcher(java.lang.String) to obtain the RequestDispatcher object and then invoke include() method on it.
So, if Login ID and password do not match, then any message, will be included in the same login form, login.html

How to get a string of an HTML element
Imagine a normal web page with its tags. I have to get the
value of a precise element and convert it to a String in order to
show it in a TextField. Specifically, I have to take a precise cell
of a table and insert it in a string.
Does AIR help me with some method that catches specific
elements of a HTML code or have I to parse the string of the entire
HTML and try to reach the wanted value?
In this last case, how do I convert the entire HTML of a page
into a string?
Any other ideas are welcome.

Does anyone know if / how I can make the text inside an HTML snippet (when rendered in the overall HTML page) appear like the text on the rest of the page?

If you want to use this code as is, put the CSS into the snippet. You don't need a span "class".
Change the span to this...

I have expressed the size in ems but you can use pixels etc.

JSP: how to display a String that has HTML
I'm reading contents of a file and want to display them on the JSP page. However, the contents may have HTML tags in them as well. Right now it just displays the String HTML tags, not actually rendering them. How do I display the String so the HTML tags are actually used?
So if the String has "<b>Hello</b>"
I want it to show up in the webpage with the word Hello bolded, not the actual <b> and </b> tags displayed.Something is escaping the file contents. Perhaps if you dropped a few

What type of table column should be used for text of this size and type?
What is the best or easiest way to get the text into the table on a regular basis?
Should I read it from a file? Or, ideally, I would like to paste the text into a textbox in the same way it is done here when submitting questions to this forum.

How to send a plain text and HTML email at once?
Hi all,
I'm attempting to use cfmailpart to send a HTML and plain text email all in the same cfmail script. I'm using Outlook and Gmail to test. I temporarily changed my Outlook settings to "read all standard mail in plain text," but it does not read the plain text cfmailpart of the email, it just attempts to format the text from the HTML email and display the links. If I remove the HTML cfmailpart from my cfmail script, the plain text version is delivered, but Outlook removes extra line breaks that I actually want to keep intact, and some of the other formatting is improperly rendered. Is there a better way to make sure email clients hold the plain text formatting (even though there really isn't any formatting with plain text) and a better way to test? The HTML version looks great in both Gmail and Outlook.

Is there any way so to return any string through odi os command.

ThanksI dont think so. You can modify your script file so that in case of any error it will write a flag (your string values) to another temp file (temp.txt)
Then read the file via jython. If flag =1 (or your req values) then there is some error in your script. Now Raise error in odi which print the string in operator.

PrabudassI have found the way to open the plugin menu "Documents-->OCR Text Recognition-->Recognize Text Using OCR" through javascript. Now i have to select the settings and set the values like the below options:
1.Primary OCR Language : English (US)
2.Pdf Output StyLe : Formatted Text & Graphics
3.Down Sample Images : Lowest (600 dpi)
which are listed in the "EDIT" menu of the "Recognize Text" form, and also to activate the "OK" button. Is it possible to do the above through Java Script. Please kindly provide any samples.

How to parse select lines in an html string?
I've been writing a program to deal with demographic data and the first server it calls returns an xml string. However, the backup server returns an html string instead of an xml string, so the formatting is a bit different. I was going to use a regex as I did with the xml server, but regex's don't work that well with html. i was wondering if you could offer some advice on how to effectively parse the html string? looks like i have to download the API and the idea behind the program is to make it so multiple people running only java can run the program, without having to download APIs, ect, to make it run. Not sure if that is what JTidy entails, but is that what you were suggesting?Personally, I don't understand the resistance to using well-tested tools already in existence as opposed to trying to rewrite a shallow facsimile of said tools. You can distribute the JTidy library along with your application and save yourself a great deal of development and debugging effort.

I am using flash 8 with AS 2.0.
I have a dynamic text field where I am setting it's text value through a variable. Now, I need this dynamic text field content to look like static font on runtime. I tried embedding the text field but that makes my file so heavy and most importantly, it disables the HTML tagging on the text field.
Please suggest me on how to make a dynamic text field content look static on runtime while the HTML tagging is enabled and working fine.

All newScale text is customizable. Follow the procedure below to change the value of any text string that appears in RequestCenter online pages.
Procedure
1. Find out the String ID of the text string you would like to overwrite by turning on the String ID display:
a) Navigate to the RequestCenter.ear/config directory.
b) Open the newscale.properties file and add the following name-value pair at the end of the file:res.format=2
c) Save the file.
d) Repeat steps b and c for the RmiConfig.prop and RequestCenter.prop files.
e) Stop and restart the RequestCenter service.
f) Log in to RequestCenter and browse to the page that has the text you want to overwrite. In front of the text you will now see the String ID.
g) Note down the String ID's you want to change.
2. Navigate to the directory: /RequestCenter.ear/RequestCenter.war/WEB-INF/classes/com/newscale/bfw.
3. Create the following sub-directory: res/resources
4. Create the following empty text files in the directory you just created:

I am very happy that the new Flash Pro has the feature to convert to HTML5 canvas

In my original .FLA file project I use only one font: Copperplate Bold. I use several sizes of that font within the project / scene
In the original file for all text I use static text, Letter spacing, AntiAlias, AutoKern and single line (Linetype)

At my client's site, for the recruitment system, they have the word processing system set to RTF, instead of SAP Script. This means that all the correspondence is in Word format. A standard SAP program takes the word letter, loads word, does the mail merge with the applicant's info and then sends the document to a printer.
The program name is RPAPRT05. The program creates a document proxy (interface I_OI_DOCUMENT_PROXY) and manipulates the document using the methods of the interface.
Now what we want to do is to instead of sending the document to a printer, we want to email the document contents to the applicant. But I don't know how to get the content from the Word document into text or html format so that I can make an email from it.
I know I can send an email with the word document as an attachment, but we'd prefer not to do that.
I would appreciate any help very much.

First of, in order to call FM 'CONVERT_RTF_TO_ITF' you need the RTF document in a table with line length 156. The document is returned from FM 'DP_CREATE_URL' in a table with line length 132. So first I convert the table:
