How to manually uninstall Java EE SDK on windows?

Hear about the new Java EE SDK, I uninstall previous installation and try the new one. When I install the new one, fellow error comes out.
writing file: E:\Sun\SDK\asadminTmp53047.tmp
[2006/12/18 21:08:28]: executing command: E:\Sun\SDK\bin\asadmin.bat create-domain interactive=false adminport 4848 adminuser admin passwordfile E:\Sun\SDK\asadminTmp53047.tmp instanceport 8080 domainproperties http.ssl.port=8181 --savemasterpassword=true domain1, in directory: E:\Sun\SDK
[2006/12/18 21:08:28]: [stderr]: command syntax error
[2006/12/18 21:08:28]: [return]: 255
I refer to http://wiki.java.net/bin/view/Projects/InstallProblems. There is no answer. And I try to clean file, folder and system registry. There is still the problem.
I wish there be a green version of Java EE SDK like eclipse. Would someone help me to manually uninstall old Java EE SDK and install a new one?

Check your PATH environment variable - if there are any garbage entries appended to it, clean up and retry SDK installation.

  • How to manually uninstall Java EE 5 Update 8 including Glassfish service

    Hi,
Sorry if this is covered elsewhere, but I've done some searching and can't find it.
I have Windows 7 professional, and I installed the Java EE SDK 5 update 8 which includes Glassfish 2.1.1 onto my system. Due to multitasking during installation (aka not paying enough attention) it installed in a really weird place ({MyUser}\AppData\Local\Temp\java_ee_sdk-5_08-jdk-6u17-windows.exe2) and I want to uninstall it and reinstall. However I cannot find an uninstall anywhere. Has anyone any ideas on how I can do this or know where the install extracts to before running so I can see if I can find it there?
    Any suggestions gratefully received!
    Thanks,
    Caroline

After a lot more work, the "repeated-every-10-seconds" messages seem to be gone now.
To review, I already deleted these folders and files:
         /Library/Application Support/DriveGenius
         /Applications/Drive Genius 3.app
         /Users/Library/Application Support/DriveGenius
         /Users/Library/Preferences/com.prosofteng.DriveGenius2.plist
         /Users/Library/Preferences/com.prosofteng.DGAgent.plist
I found this file and tried to remove it:
         /Users/jimp/Library/LaunchAgents/com.prosofteng.DGMonitor.plist
Dragging the file to the trash did not work. Trying to remove the file via the Terminal "rm" command did not work. Even doing
"sudo rm com.prosofteng.DGMonitor.plist" would not work, resulting in the message:
"rm: com.prosofteng.DGMonitor.plist: Operation not permitted" and the file was still there.
I used COMMAND-I to change the file permission to READ AND WRITE and then used the VI editor in Terminal to "comment out" every line of the file by adding a "#" at the start of each line. Then I wrote out the file.
I still could not remove the file---I don't know why--- but I suppose it is now inert and can't do anything.
Upon restarting, the Console log no longer shows those "every-10-seconds" errors.
I assume my problem is solved?
I have yet to determine whether the Mac Pro will go to sleep as it used to do.
Now I need to remember to NEVER TRY INSTALLING DRIVE GENIUS or other dangerous applications again.
I hope these notes are of some value to other Mac 10.6.8 users out there.

  • How do you uninstall JAVA 7 from a Windows 7 machine?

    Hi,
I am going to raise a easy question to the eye. I have been running into machines that have been upgraded to JAVA 7 on a Windows 7 machine. I have been yet to remove it. When I uninstall JAVA, it leaves behind a broken icon in the control panel. when I reboot and install another version of JAVA it says: "Application Not Found".
RevoUninstall will not even get rid of this JAVA 7. Any ideas?
This happens on EVERY Windows 7 machine with JAVA 7 installed. It just will not come off, and has to be re-imaged.

    Hello,
How many machines is 'EVERY machine'? Is this a single computer and Windows has been reinstalled? Are there multiple independent computers?  Is it a vanilla Windows 7 that is installed or is this an image created by a Desktop System Administrator that as been configured? Are any errors seen during the uninstall?
Uninstalls processes can fail for a number of reasons; including, files are in use, permission issues, corrupted registry entries, file/directory changes made post install.

  • How do I uninstall java?

Very simple. How do I uninstall java?
I used it once for a GoToMeeting session, but I'm quite happy not having the jvm/javac/java binaries kicking around. Short of `find | egrep -iE '(java|jvm|javac)'` and surgically removing individual files, is there an uninstaller for java?
I lump java in to the same category of battery-wasting malware as Flash and I'm quite happy to exist without it. Help?

Unfortunately there is no direct or easy way to uninstall Java, so once installed the only way to remove it and all of its components completely is to reinstall OS X; however, you can remove the Java virtual machine...

  • How to manually uninstall j2re ?

    hi all,
i have problems with j2re 1.4.0 installation and i would really appreciate any help.
here's my problem : i first installed j2re 1.4.0_02 and then j2re 1.4.1, without uninstalling the first version. so, i had two plug-ins running on my pc.
i decided to uninstall both and reinstall 1.4.0.
after uninstalling both jre, i tried to launch the installation program but it doesn't seem to work (actually it doesn't stop, when trying to install the plug-in).
i suppose that the unistall process didn't work properly, so now i would like to uninstall jre manually before trying to install it again (i deleted manually the j2re directory, but it's not enough of course).
so, please help me because now i don't have any jre (and no plug-ins also)
    thank you in advance

    hi all,
to anyone may have a problem similar to mine, here is how I solved it. follow the instruction and remember to exit any browser active task before launching the installation program.
for jre1.4..0_02 i found the correct registry key to delete is
    {082F1B07-797C-11D6-9CFB-00010240CE95}
    enjoy
You may need to manually uninstall the J2SE 1.4.0_01 JRE. To do so, follow these steps:
Go to Control Panel; select Java Plug-in. Click on the Browsers tab. Uncheck both IE and Netscape6.
Remove the directory in which you placed the J2SE JRE. For example, remove C:/Program Files/Java/j2re1.4.0_01.
Remove the following files from the Microsoft Windows System Directory:
    plugincpl140_01.cpl
    java.exe
    javaw.exe
On Microsoft Windows NT, 2000, and XP:
    C:/winnt/system32
On Microsoft Windows 98 and ME:
    C:/windows
    Remove the following Registry Keys:
    HKEY_LOCALE_MACHINE/software/Javasoft/Java Runtime Environment/1.4.0_01
    HKEY_LOCALE_MACHINE/software/microsoft/windows/currentversion/uninstall/7C F31609-270B-11D6-9445-000102308676

There's a lot more installed than what that article says. The Java installation package includes much more than just:
    /System/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/
Take a look at the package with Pacifist.

  • How to manually uninstall Adobe Acrobat 9 or force installation?

Acrobat was not cleanly uninstalled with a installation manager Total Uninstall, and now the standard uninstaller is no longer available.  Reinstallation is currently not possible because the installer believes Acrobat is still installed.  It seems my only option is to manually uninstall Acrobat, or possibily simplier option of forcing installation.  I have removed all directories and subdirectories associated with Acrobat but this is not enough.  Any help would be appreciated.

Well I guess you know now not to use crappy 3rd party utilties. What's wrong with using your OSes application removal anyways ?! That's what it's there for. <end of rant>
Go to Microsoft download and get the "Installer Cleanup Utility" (not sure if that's the correct name, but it's close enough . Run it and see if you can proceed with the installation of Acrobat.
FWIW it's not as simple as that.  We use an administrative install point, (following adobe's "instructions" I might add), and several systems, including mine, got pretty jacked up from the 9.3.2 quarterly update.
Had to rip it out by the roots, and the msi cleanup is only part of the solution.  Don't ask for a howto - I'm still too traumatized.
Registry surgery, boot to safe mode, remove application directory, some start->run entries, yada yada yada.  Had to boot into linux to fix the recycle bin after all was said and done.
    What a bloated mess.
I will add that most systems were fine, but this application is waaaaaaay too complex for what it does.  Installation is fragile in a managed desktop environment, repair tedious.  Updates are unforgiveably large and The MSP approach to patches/updates is a freaking nightmare to deal with.  It sprays crap all over the system, the registry, and what the installer does is poorly documented if at all.
Funny how adobe nevers seems to chime in on any of these threads, BTW.

which I am only guessing happened during moving of files from my old Windows XP computer (by a third-party utility).
PC Mover is one of the classic suspects with this.
    Let's try the following procedure.
    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • How good is the java Ras Sdk in Business objects XI?

I have programmed some  reports from scratch by using the java ras sdk.
Somehow I have the feeling that new features of XI like dynamic image location, or
running totals aren't so well supported as for example through the Crystal report Designer.
Do others also think that  Business objects is being a bit negligent on this Api?
Maybe they do not consider the Api as important anymore because most people will be using there web based out of the box jsp components?

Normally you should run your CR reports in the INfoView. You can start a report either by double clicking on it or by selecting View in the context menu. Still in order to fetch data you have to press the Refresh button in the CR viewer window (in the InfoView).
In the CMC I assume that you are using the Run now option in the context menu. Please note that this will just schedule your report immediatelly. hen the report is scheduled a new instance is created hich is available in the History of the report. In order to see a report in the CMC select again View in the context menu and you can again fetch data by pressing the Refresh button.

  • Anyway to uninstall java jre using the windows xp command line

    Hi,
Is there anyway I can uninstall Java JRE 1.6_6 by using the xp cmd.
I need to do this for my team project where ive made a custom installer that installs a JRE and my java application. I then also need to make an uninstaller which removes my application (ive done that), and also removes the JRE. I know you can do this from the control panel but I need to uninstall both at the same time in one simple interface.
Im using batch scripts to do this, as the installer package im using is useless.
    Thanks
    Shazan

You could try uninstalling via the silent approach. The original jre install bundle is necessary.
See http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/guide/plugin/developer_guide/silent.html (this is 1.4.2 specific, but it should work for 6 also)
    <jre>.exe /s /v "/qn [REBOOT=Suppress]" /x
Looks like the command you'll need.
How much has your custom installer modified the java installer ? I don't think you're allowed modify the jre bundle in any way.

The uninstall instructions for Firefox are here

However <s>Firefox is obviously working, and </s>it does no harm to have more than one browser on a computer. In fact it can be a distinct advantage. For instance it allows you to use the alternative browser if the primary one has a fault.
Maybe what you are in fact trying to do is to set Internet Explorer (IE) as the default browser again, so that for instance the IE icons appear on some files and links. You can do that from IE
    * see http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/internet-explorer/make-ie-default-browser#ie=ie-10
