How to monitor an application using JMX

Hi,
How can I monitor the portal application running on portal server by using MBeans (JMX)? For this I need to make a connection between my portal application and MBean class, How to monitor operations? How can I do that? If anybody has come across the same requirement pls explain me with the implementation details.

I have done that in a project (not Portal, but pure Java Application, should be no difference), working fine.
The steps are as follows:
- create MBean Server (e.g. MBeanServerFactory.createMBeanServer("test");)
- create your MBeans
- make them accessible to clients (register the MBeans in the server)
- query them from clients

Hey tell me one thing your BAPI having CURD methods. See you are getting data from BAPI and pull the data in Table in WDJ. So if u can do any action it will comes trough BAPI.
If your BAPI having CURD methods. You can implement CURD methods in WDJAVA also.
@ You said you are getting null values from the database. Please let me know what code you have to wrote for CURD. Please tell me.

Run the EPM configurator, expand planning and select "Deploy to Application Server", if it is a distributed environment and planning is not on the same server as the WebLogic admin server you will need to start the Admin Server

Can someone brief me on how to protect custom applications using oracle access manager?

Is the Custom application a Web Application running on certified platform? If its Web Application then its no different you have to configure the access policies with http(s) as resource type.
If its not a web application you can write Custom access Gate and then implement. You would configure the policies similar to Web application (you can define your ouwn resource type if you like) and in the custom web gate you will use Access server SDK API to validate the access rules.

Hello Frederic,
your request is a system monitoring request and not really a BPMon request. As BPMon is designed to monitor specific steps of a business process it doesn't make sense to use a wildcard for the object. A certain business process step like "Create Sales Orders" is only executed via certain transaction like VA01. So it would n't make sense to monitor also MM or PP transactions for the same process step. For this reason wildcards are not allowed.
For your system monitoring problem you either use the normal CCMS monitor for Update Errors which counts all update errors in one system (and you can include the CCMS MTE in BPMon via the CCMS monitoring object) or you decide to use the BPMon Update error monitor for selected important transactions only.
Anyhow you should first do a systematic error analysis with transaction SM13 why you encounter so many update errors at all and solve the root cause. 1000 Update errors is a very high/bad value even if you had a large system.

My husband bought a new 27" iMac with the optional GEForce 780m with 4 gig of video ram. He wants to know how many monitors he can run simultaneously, and at what resolutions. He would obviously be using the Thunderbolt ports to do this. I thought this information should be easily found in the technical specs for either the iMac or the video card itself on the NVidia site, but it is not.

How to write chart application using netcharts.server.api ?

Hi to all.
i need to write a chart application in Java, which makes use of netcharts.server.api.
Iam having only jar files. Which are netcharts.jar, chartworks.jar, commons-httpclient.jar, commons-logging.jar and ncstoolkit.jar in my hand.
I need to make use of above jars only to build line graph or charts or any thing.
That application has to work in html or jsp or servlets, if possible in swings.
can any buddy please help me in this regard and guide me.

How do you change application used to play streaming file?

I can change the application used to open a file directly on my computer by going to the Get Info for the file. However, I am trying to get a streaming file to play using QuickTime instead of Real Player (it's a SDP file from a Darwin Streaming Server) and there is no file to "Get Info" on. Real seems to have the .sdp extension locked up. Long time ago, you used to be able to go to a control panel and change the default application for certain file types. I cannot seem to find that anymore under Tiger. Anyone know how to do this?

Ok, I sorted it out. You have to do the following:
a) Open System Preferences > Quick Time > Advanced > MIME Settings. Click on the "Streaming - Streaming movies" triangle to expand it and make sure that the button nest to "SDP stream descriptor" is checked. Quit System Preferences.
b) Launch Real Player and go to its Preferences > Media Types. Uncheck the "Real-Time Streaming Protocol" and "Scalable Multicast" buttons. Click on "Save Media Types" on bottom Left (if it ask you to quit your browser, allow it to do so). That should do it. As far as I can tell this does not affect the streaming of .ram files.

It's not clear to me what you did. Have you exposed an XI Message Interface through a Web Service? Or have you developed a Web Service in the other way? What is the "ear" that you said? Is an webdynpro app? If it is, I think your question would be properly answered at WebDynpro forum
