Monitoring of server using JMX and SNMP

I want to monitor my server using SNMP to get the information about craches, response time etc of the server. What technology should I use to do the same? Can JMX help me for this and How?

Hello Frederic,
your request is a system monitoring request and not really a BPMon request. As BPMon is designed to monitor specific steps of a business process it doesn't make sense to use a wildcard for the object. A certain business process step like "Create Sales Orders" is only executed via certain transaction like VA01. So it would n't make sense to monitor also MM or PP transactions for the same process step. For this reason wildcards are not allowed.
For your system monitoring problem you either use the normal CCMS monitor for Update Errors which counts all update errors in one system (and you can include the CCMS MTE in BPMon via the CCMS monitoring object) or you decide to use the BPMon Update error monitor for selected important transactions only.
Anyhow you should first do a systematic error analysis with transaction SM13 why you encounter so many update errors at all and solve the root cause. 1000 Update errors is a very high/bad value even if you had a large system.

manohar, apart from what *"Pierluigi"* has suggested, additionally please notice the following messsage in your StackTrace (whih is basically a NOTICE message but does not look good)

I am suspecting that you need to do the following in order to get rid of Certificate Errors which is the ROOT cause of your issue
Do the following: After taking a backup of *"$JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/security/cacerts"* file
cd $JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/security
cp -p cacerts cacerts.original
chmod 644 cacerts
keytool -delete -alias ttelesecglobalrootclass2ca -keystore cacerts
keytool -delete -alias ttelesecglobalrootclass3ca -keystore cacertsAlso try with Node Manager Communication type as "*Plain*" because it looks like you are getting PKIX security certificate chain message, just to isolate the issue.

I've been experimenting with Java instrumentation with MBeans.
I created a small app to try out some of the JMX features. The app has a class that I would like to monitor with MBeans. So I created to interfaces to function as MBeans and then had the class in my app implement both interfaces.
I then wrote a class with only a main() method to instantiate my class and call the methods it implemented from my MBean interface. In the main method I provided the code to get an MBeanServer object and then use that to register my class that implemented the MBean interfaces. My intention was to try this out, but before I did I commented out the code needed to register the class with the MBean server. I did this because I assumed the implemented interface methods would be available for monitoring without registering and it made me think if I can monitor the instrumented class like this why would I need the MBean server.
So what is the purpose of the JMX framework and MBeans if I can instrument any class as described above?
Is it necessary to register only to be able to monitor from outside the JMV where the instrumented class is running?
Or are there other advantages\features\reasons for registering with the MBean server?

Uploading a file to server using ajax and struts
My problem is i wrote a program to upload a file to the server using Ajax.
Here iam used Struts and Ajax.
The problem is when iam uploaded a file from my PC the file is uploading to the server in the upload folder located in the server my system.
Iam using Tomcat server 5.0
But when iam trying to access it through other system it is not doing so
Giving an internal server error i,e 500.
Iam putting the necessary documents for ur reference.
Plz help me soon .
My exact requirement is i have to upload a file to the upload folder located in the server.
And i have to get the path of that file and display the file path exactly below the browse button from where iam uploaded a file.
That should be done without page refresh and submit thats y iam used Ajax

Connect to server using VPN and router, then 3rd party software hangs
I connect to my employer server using *Apani Contivity VPN* software to get email, accessing the internet with FireFox and any of the following devices *NetGear RP614v3, Linksys BEFSR41* routers, as well as a *Belkin F5D5131-5* switch. I can connect to the internet and log onto the company server. Then I spuraticly, but persistently, have *software hangs when I try to open the software or execute a save when using: Text Edit, MS Entourage, Quark, Adobe Photoshop and Bridge*. I use one of 2 Macs in a company of PCs and the other Mac user does not have these problems. Help.

Issue while importing table from oracle to sql server using import and export wizard

I am trying to populate oracle table to sql server using import export wizard and i am getting the below error.the table is allready present in the database but still it throwing error like table doesn't exists.
Could not connect source component.
Error 0xc0202009: Source - JOB_ACTION_HISTORY [1]: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR. An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80004005.

Please check whether the table name in the Oracle database has lower case letters. The table name should be exactly correct.
In addition, the issue might be related to the Oracle driver. What provider/driver do you use? If you use Microsoft OLE DB Provider for Oracle, you can try the
Oracle OLE DB Provider. If you use Enterprise or Developer edition of SSIS 2008 or higher, you can also try the
Microsoft Connectors for Oracle by Attunity. The Oracle OLE DB Provider and Microsoft Connectors for Oracle are proved to have better performance.

I have done that in a project (not Portal, but pure Java Application, should be no difference), working fine.
The steps are as follows:
- create MBean Server (e.g. MBeanServerFactory.createMBeanServer("test");)
- create your MBeans
- make them accessible to clients (register the MBeans in the server)
- query them from clients

How to get folders from your server using IMAP and push, 3G.
After looking all over this forum looking for an answer, I found out on my own. here's how:
Step 1: Login to your email server.
- If you can, log into your email server via webmail. This ensures that you are in fact connected to your email server and your folders are being created. If your email server doesn't have webmail, then create the folders using whatever email app you have on your PC or Mac.
Step 2: Creating the folders.
- All the folders you want to have show up on your iphone must be created as sub-folders under your Inbox folder on the server. Here's what mine looks like for example.

++-Deleted Messages
++-Friends
++-Work
++-Others
-Drafts
-Sent
-Deleted
-Junk Email
*you may be wondering why I have 2 sent and Deleted folders. I have it set up so that the folders in the inbox are for the iphone, and the ones outside are from Outlook.
Step 3: Getting the folders to show up on the iphone.
- Once you set up your IMAP account on the iphone 3g, simply log into the account, wait for it to finish checking for emails, then tap the Inbox button. Give it a few seconds to load if it's loading something. After it finishes, back out by tapping the 'Mailboxes' in the top-left corner, and your folders should be there.So you'd use Java to send the WebDAV protocol. Since this is a Java forum, it would help if you provided the WebDAV part of the equation and we can help with the Java part. Okay? Let us know when you have the WebDAV information.

WebLogic Server 9.1 and SNMP Agent enabled
Hello everybody,
I have enabled the WebLogic 9.1 SNMP agent but it isn't quite working right.
The Sun Management Center software tells me that the WebLogic SNMP Agent (loaded with Halcyon PrimeAlert BEA WebLogic module) is not responding for any of the Application servers (there are only 2) however it does correctly work when the PrimeAlert BEA WebLogic module is configured for the Administrative Server and the entire WebLogic domain.
The community strings that are working (domain & administrative server):
public@mydomain
public@myapplicationserver
Those that don't work (application servers):
public@myappserverone
public@myappservertwo
Oddly enough, originally when I configured these I changed the WebLogic SNMP Agent community prefix to 'mycommunity' and turned the WebLogic SNMP Agent debugging up to 3 but it didn't work. So I changed the community string back to the default 'public', leaving the debugging level at 3 (restarting WebLogic of course) and then it worked.
...so 3 days later I decided to turn the debug level back to the default of 1, leaving the community prefix as public and then restarted WebLogic: then the SNMP Agent for the application servers no longer worked again!!! So I changed it back to 3 and it still no longer worked!!! Help!!!
Can any one help please?

Long connection times to Leopard server using ssh and screen sharing
I'm experiencing long connection times when using ssh (30 seconds, or so, before password prompt appears), and screen sharing (upwards of 5 minutes before display opens). Both the server and the macbook pro I'm connecting with are on the same LAN, with the sever connected by wire directly to an Airport Extreme, and the MBP connecting via wireless.
Anybody have any thoughts as to what's causing the long delays in connecting?A ping goes rather quickly, and the TNSNAMES.ORA file already contains the IP address. I have other software that connects to the Oracle server just fine without a long delay. I am not sure if this other software uses ODBC, it is a package software. I was begining to think I might have miscoded the connection in the VB program?

T440 - dual monitors without dock, using VGA and mini DP
Try to find out if a T440 can use its VGA and mini DP ports at the same time for dual monitor support (LCD can be closed.) Can't seem to find this info anywhere, everything I come up against talks about a dock.

I suggest you use one DVI-to-VGA adapter for your best display. These VGA signals are present on the DVI-I output from the computer -- in the bar at one end and the four pins around it. The adapter used for this is just wires.
The longer story has to do with using much more expensive ACTIVE, Powered adapters, some even use a USB pigtail to pick up power from a USB to run signal drivers inside the adapters. These are Required to run three displays, but you can Usually get away with it for two.
