How to move a running System to other Hardware ?

Hi,
got a running Solaris 2.8 System on a Ultra 1 Enterprise machine. I want to have this complete production System running on a unused Enterprise 250 (without hardware operations like moving harddisks from one machine to the other)
What i did:
-Made ufsdumps of all my Partitions on the U1 into files.
- Partitioned one disk (disk3) in the E250 according to my needs.
- Transferred the dumpfiles to the e250.
- filled the new Partitions with the Data.
- tried to boot from the new disk (disk3).
sure: this didn't work.
1. Problem: the /dev and /devices directorys, had them dumped also. info in there was wrong for the E250.
-> i used devfsadm to create new /dev and /devices directorys.
2. Problem: When the E250 boots from the disk3, it gets problems with the disk slices when running fsck. They are not there. If i enter maintenece mode (the only thing i can do) and start the format utility for instance, there is only one disk (c0t0d0) which is not the one i tried to boot from.
What is the regular way to complete the task of putting complete new hardware under a running production system ? Can it be done, without having the OS newly installed ?

Boot from the Solaris "Software 1 of 2" CDROM, mount
the HDD under "/a" and
run "devfsadm -v -r /a" to update the device nodes for
the new machine.
Fix the device entries in /a/etc/vfstab to use the new

Hmmm...it didn't work this way..
Obviously there are problems when mounting the Partitions from the new disk.
a snippet from the machines output, when booting from the new disk3 (typed here by hand)

The / file system (/dev/rdsk/c0t10d0s0) is beeing checked:
Can't open /dev/rdsk/c0t10d0s0
scary.
When the Machine was booted from cdrom and i ran dsvfsadm it created this /dev/rdsk/c0t10d0s0. I also adapted the /etc/vfstab file, so that this slice is used as root partition. But when booting from this disk, it can't be found.
At this point i can enter the system maintenence mode by typing the root password. In there, i call the format utility, and can see only 1 disk (out of 4) which is not the one, i booted from, i mean, not my new disk.
Do i have a driver problem ?? The kernel i'm trying to boot is from my Ultra1 machine...
Got another Idea ??

Click on Control Panel and then click Notification Area Icons. It will give you the list of available programs and behaviors to configure. If the program that you wish to be displayed is not displayed you can check the settings of that program to see if the option is available. If it is not you can drag any file or program to the taskbar and it will create the shortcut there for easy access.

Hi,
There are many tools that claim or might probably work for many custom developed application or COTS.
To my experience extends, there is no way you can actually migrate "as is where is" to another server.
There are several things that you may want to consider which the tool will not and can not consider which I hope you will understand.
You can develop one specific suiting your needs, however the same cannot be generalized.
You certainly need to re-install in another server.

The vector move will probably not give the results you are looking for. The vector move calculates the trajectory based on unit vectors in cartesian space. For a 2 arm robot (ex. 2 rotation joints), you would be able to move from point A to point B as desired, however the path would not be a straight line. The path may also not be suitable for the mechanism, which could cause a collision or maybe a singularity.
The best solution is probably the contour move. You can use the inverse kinematic routine you wrote and send the results to a contour move. Contour moves are a little more complicated to use than the simple one axis or vector moves, however they are also much more flexible. I do not know of any functions already written for your system,
but it sounds like you are already on the right path.

How to move the entries of table BNKAIN between systems

Hi,
Is there any way to export the entries of table BNKAIN from one SAP system (development) to another manually? This is the table which is not transported via a transport...even in development system the "transport entries" option is not active. IN SM30 the maintenance view is not created.
Can you advice how to move the entries somehow manually?

In fact I checked the table BNKA and the entries there are not helpful for me in the target system.
We are using there some user exit which is using the table BNKAIN and the following entries are there:
Client Bank Country Bank Key        Internal bank

790            FR           IHC3            1

790            US           IHC5            1
I checked the properties of that table in SE11 and it is maintainable only with restrictions..thus I need to ask some other basis expert which will help me to inlcude those entries into a transport.

If you want to import them into your iPad without using iTunes you can get an Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit. Otherwise you can first import them into your computer then from your computer to your iPad using iTunes. Once they are on your iPad you can run them from the Videos app on your iPad.
