How to open a view to a Item in "read only" mode directly from SAP Logon.

Hello Gurus;
We need to display a given portfolio item to the user in display (read only) mode.
We have managed to open a view to the portfolio item using function INM_UI_NAV_GET_OIF_URL to obtain its URL and FM CALL_BROWSER to open it. The problem is that the item is opened in edit mode.
Is there any way to open this item in read only mode (and disable the 'Edit' button as well)?

I am running Oracle Database 10g Release 10.2.0.3.0 - 64bit Production Standard Edition on Linux version 2.6.9-42.0.8.ELsmp ([email protected]) (gcc version 3.4.6 20060404 (Red Hat 3.4.6-3))
I've created a physical standby database, but since I am running Standard Edition, I am not using the DataGuard features. I use the rsync utility to copy over the archivelogs to the standby database, and I apply them periodically to the standby database.
The standby database is started this way :
startup nomount pfile='/u01/oradata/orcl/initorcl.stdby';
alter database mount standby database;
Everything runs perfectly fine, I can do "alter database open read only" and then I can do selects into tables to confirm that everything is up to date.
The thing is, if I shutdown immediate the database, then do just startup :
shutdown immediate;
startup;
The database opens with no error messages, but is still in read-only mode...
I read that the default behavior for a standby database is to open read-only, like I am experiencing, but I would like to know what is the right way to open it correctly in read-write mode (I understand that after that, my standby will not be standby anymore and that I will have to recreate my standby database).

Hello,
There're features which allows you to open a Standby database in Read/Write mode but for all I know
it needs Entreprise Edition.
In Enterprise Edition you can use Logical Standby database. More over, for Physical standby there's
a way by using flashback database so as to rolling backward the database and avoiding to recreate
the Standby.
In Standard Edition I'm afraid that you'll have to recreate your Standby database.

How and Where to change ESS payslip property as READ only Mode

We are SAP ECC5.0 and using EP6 for ESS payslip. We have a problem
launching ESS payslip for those employees who have Acrobat Editor and
Reader installed. One can actually change the payslip information via
Acrobat Editor when click onto PRINT button.
However, for those without Acrobat Editor installed in the PC, we do
not have such problem. Please advise how to resolve this.
Was told to change ESS payslip property as READ only Mode. Unable to find this in the configuration setting.

UIX: How to add linked view table columns to the Read-only table

I have two tables
T1: ID, STAFF_ID, NOTE
T2: STAFF_ID, USERNAME
I have created corresponding entity objects (E1, E2), views (V1, V2), association A(E1->E2 as *..1 using STAFF_ID) and viewlink VL(V1->V2 as *..1 using association A).
My model in AppModule looks like
V1
----V2 via VL
Now I have single UIX page in which I drop V1 as Read-only table. The table displays columns correctly: ID, STAFF_ID, NOTE
What I want is to add a column STAFF_ID from the V2 into this table. I have tried to drop it into the table but when the page is run it does not display anything in that column. It has to do something with binding.
I have done similar test with dropping V1 as read-only FORM and then added STAFF_ID from V2 as messageTextInput and everything is rendered correctly.
Anyone knows how to do the same thing but with table?

Yes that is true but I would like to give another example where this may not apply.
Say I have 3 tables
CLIENT(INDIVIDUAL_ID,...)
ADDRESS(ADDRESS_ID,...)
ADDRESS_HISTORY(ADDRESS_ID, INDIVIDUAL_ID,BEST_ADDRESS)
where ADDRESS_HISTORY is intersection table in CLIENT to ADDRESS many to many relationship.
Suppose I have VO2 that consists of ADDRESS and ADDRESS_HISTORY entities (corresponding association exists) and user needs to add new address for the selected customer in VO1 (made from CLIENT entity). There are several issues here:
1) An input form made out of VO2 must contain an entry for BEST_ADDRESS flag but since it will be read-only, seems that this approach may not work. However, I found a post re:Updating view objects with multiple entities that provides workaround this.
2) In that case assume that I use DBSequence to automatically add ADDRESS_ID when user inputs new record in this input form. I am using DB Trigger on ADDRESS table and have selected ADDRESS_ID in ADDRESS entity as DBSequence. Now observe that VO2 would contain another ADDRESS_ID from ADDRESS_HISTORY entity which has to be automatically populated with the same value. How?
In a nutshell my question relates to the problem how to automatically populate intersection table when new record is added to the detail. But the trick is that some attributes of the intersection table must be inserted by the user in the form..

It seems feature. Shuttle is span tag when it is read only.
Work around could be that
you compute display as text item with LOV display value according shuttle session state and show shuttle and this item conditionally depend case

How to modify edit/read mode pop up for documents in "SP2013" to open in only read only mode

Hi,
When opening a document the users of my site and including me are getting a pop up asking to open it in read only or edit mode. We want to disable the edit option for end users. Those are confidential doc's.
We want them to open only in read only mode. How can it be achieved.
Can we FORCE a read-only open of the document without giving anyone the option to open in edit mode? I don't have access to Central Admin. Hence kindly let me know if there is some javascript
code that i can use to do this from browser.

If users have edit permission on the documents in this library, even if we disable this dialog (by disabling the add-on "SharePoint OpenDocuements class" from IE browser), the users sitll could download the documents to local machine, and
edit the documents in client Office application, then sync to library.
If you want the users to read these confidential documents only, you can only grant the users read-only permission on the document items or on library level, then they could unable to edit these confidential docs, note to give proper users
proper permissions.
If you also want that the confidential docs could be opend and read-only in client Office application, you can configure the IRM (implemented by RMS) for SharePoint server, then set the document items in the library read-only for
some users.

How Real Time Apply works while physical standby is open in Read Only mode

With Active data guard option, we can open physical standby DB in read only mode, while redo log are being applied. (Real Time Query)
Standby Redo log (SRL) enables Real Time Apply (with "USING CURRENT LOGFILE" clause in recover database command on standby DB)
I am interested to know, how Real Time Query works ?
What is the mechanism with allows us to open physical standby DB in read only mode while redo logs are being applied continuously ?

That is a new feature in Oracle Database 11g. MRP can use the real time apply in 10g but the concept here is different.

You can set a text item's property to be non-updateable
You can change this programmatically with set_item_property()

Sharing a view in read only mode

I am new in this domain. I have made an application in which I made two local development projects. Through that I am using views of one into another with the help of "Used WebDynpro Components" concept. After deploying, I have got these two views.
But the problem is that I want that view in read only mode which I have taken from other local development project and this view was not in read only mode in its local development projects.

Say View1 is the view in main Component,View2 is the view in used Component. Exactly follow these steps.
Create a context attribute enable of type String in used Component's controller,used Component's Interface controller, View1 and View2.
Using context mapping map these attributes View2 -> used Component's controller-> used Component's Interface controller -> View1 ( if you don't know how to map double click the the Main component: Data navigation modeler is opened; In the diagram, right side select small arrow first select View1 drag to used Component's Interface controller,in the wizard select right hand side enable attribute drag to left side)
you can map similarly View2 -> used Component's controller-> used Component's Interface controller.
In View2 create another variable edit of boolean type.
Open Layout tab of View2, bind this attribute to enable property of all the UI elements which you want to disable.
In implementation tab of View1 in method wdDoInit() write this code
wdContext.currentContextElement.setEnable("display");
In implementation tab of View2 in method wdDoInit() write this code
if(wdContext.currentContextElement.getEnable().equalIgnoreCase("display"))
wdContext.currentContextElement.setEdit(false);
else
wdContext.currentContextElement.setEdit(true);

How to provide a LINK on normal TEXT field in read only mode

I have a TEXT item and that is used for only url purpose.
so a user can enter something like http://www.abc.com in that field.
So when I am in read only mode for that item, I want a link also on that text..
how can I do that.

You could create a pl/sql expression computation on the TEXT item which will convert the value shown for the field to be a HTML link

I don't think it's possible, can go with metadata dictionary option which is also help to analysis RPD.

When trying to open database in READ ONLY MODE it says needs recovery. How ever database opens succesfully in READ WRITE MODE.
1) Startup mount
2) SQL> ALTER DATABASE OPEN READ ONLY;
ALTER DATABASE OPEN READ ONLY
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-16005: database requires recovery
But database opens succesfully when opened in READ WRITE mode.

Opening the file in read only mode

hi all,
i am using
i want to open any type of files in read only mode using host command.so first i am setting the attribute to read only and then opening the file. But still the opened file is editable. i have written like below

Read only means you cannot mofiy the file. This also includes that you cannot delete a readonly-file yes,
what i am doing is i have three button in my layout 'save','view' and 'delete'.
1.so when user press 'save' button after selecting the file then the file gets saved into the specified.
2. when user press 'view' button the file has to open in read only mode.
for this i have written above mentioned code(but still i am able to edit the file)
3.when user press 'delete' button the file has to be deleted from the specified location.
so my problem is after setting file to read only mode, i am able to edit but i am not able to delete it.
What i am using to set the file to read only mode is right?

If you look into the standard of MAC CL_BSP_ACC_ACCMOD, you will find in read method of super class CL_BSP_BP_ACCMOD the following coding :

    ENDIF.
So, the only way to put the account application in display is to work on the fields attributes.

You can set security in the file to dissallow changesby going to File>Properties>Security in Acrobat. But you can't change anything with Reader.
