How to Open an Oracle Apps Screen from a web page

Hi,
We have requirement for Opening an Oracle Application screen (say sales order form) directly from a web page.
I could get the URL of the required screen, but the URL contains an ICX_TICKET number, which is generated dynamically by Oracle Apps. So I can't use a static URL for this.
Do you know how I can use or generate an ICX_TICKET in runtime? My user will have an active Oracle Application screen opened along with web page. He want to navigate to Oracle Apps screen from Web page. Hopes this makes the requirement more clear.

I have identified a function to generate ICX_ticket. By appending this ticket, I am able to open the Oracle Apps screen. Now, is there in implication on the security side, if I go ahead this way?

Hi Ronald,
You have to use Reports CGI (it is r25cgi32.exe in Reports 2.5), as you are calling from web.
For Example,
To generate the HTML output to cache, your hyperlink should be,
http://myhost.com:portno/cgi-bin/r25cgi32?server=repserver1+report=test.rdf+userid=scott/tiger@mydb+destype=cache+desformat=html
You should have the Web server <-> Reports CGI Setup. A Report server (repserver1, in this example) should be running to accept the jobs from CGI.

I have a button on an order form that im trying to open the customer form from i am using the code:

end;
i get the following error msg:
FRM-40010: cannot read form Customer.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also i am going to develop a log on screen that will validate a user name and password but cannot find any info on this. Any links or tips would be great!

Please ask your logon question in a separate thread.
The "cannot read form" message means Forms cannot find the file named Customer.fmx in the path where it expects to find the form. If you are running on a unix system, the file name must match upper or lower-case exactly, as well.

How to open a SAP Transactiion Screen from a link in Email

Requirement: Lets say upon creation of sales order 6000001 in VA01, an email is triggered to a person. In the email there should be a hyperlink which should open the order 6000001 (VA02 screen) without asking for any authentication.
How to achieve this SAP - Email integration. Do we have to use some groupware connector to achieve this integration? (CRM has got a connector I guess!!).

You know to tell which mail format are you using, whether is Outlook or Lotus. SAP Connectors need to be installed for the same depending upon the mail type.

Hi Silviya,
you can access this database using a technique called DB Multiconnect - sometimes written as multi-connect.
Search the SAP documentation and notes for this term and you will find how to do it.
Essentially you configure the remote database connection via transaction DBCON.
If your SAP system is not running on Oracle you will need to install the db-specific kernel files for Oracle along with the Oracel db client software - SQL*Net.
Then you can access the Oracle database from ABAP using native-SQL. It works a treat!
