  • How To Open PDF Attached file use CLIENT_HOST 11 g forms

    How to open pdf file on client side at 11 g forms ?
    when i open any attached (PDF )file on client side is not open those file open on server side plz guide me how to  open those file on client machine using client host?
    thanks

    Where is the pdf you are trying to open? Is it on the server or the client? If the file is stored on the server then you can access it using WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT assuming it is stored in a place that has a virtual mapping. For example:
    WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT ('http://server/someLocation/file.pdf','_blank');If the file is on the client then you need to configure your application to use WebUtil. Then you can do what Francois suggested.

  • How to open a PDF file using forms 9i

    Hi guys!!! Could you please help me with this?
    Using the webutil library, i've found the function FILE_OPEN_DIALOG which yes, it is like windows' dialog box, but it doesn't open the specific file. If i have the PDF software, and a pdf file, and i use the webutil code to open the file from forms, why doesn't it open de file?
    Code used:
    :block.item := WEBUTIL_FILE.FILE_OPEN_DIALOG('c:\',
    'pdf|*.pdf',
    'Select a file: ') ;
    I have also used:
    :block.item := webutil_file.file_selection_dialog(directory_name => 'c:\',
    file_name => null,
    file_filter => 'pdf|*.pdf',
    title => 'Select a file',
    dialog_type => open_file, --save_file
    select_file => TRUE);
    thnx!!

    The dialog just gives you the name of the file to open. You then have to write code to open the file. web.show_document should work.
    I have deleted your last entry. Whatever you think about the situation, a civilized language (which I know Spanish to be) would be appreciated.

  • Problem wiht Running Batch File using Runtime.exec()

    I am writting one program which will create a jar file using a windows Batch file.
    The main program is in the folder "d:\CmdExec.java".
    The other one to which a jar file to be created is in the folder "e:\folder\HelloWorld.class"
    The contents inside the "e:\folder" are
    e:\folder\HelloWorld.class
    e:\folder\mainClass.txt
    e:\folder\run.bat
    The mainClass.txt contains "Main-Class: HelloWorld"
    The Run.bat file contains "jar cmf mainClass.txt HelloWorld.jar *.class"
    The coding for CmdExec.java is as follows
    import java.io.*;
    import java.awt.Desktop;
    public class CmdExec {
    public static void main(String argv[]) {
    try {
    Desktop desktop = null;
    if (Desktop.isDesktopSupported()) {
    desktop = Desktop.getDesktop();
    desktop.open(new File("e:\\folder\\run.bat"));
    catch (Exception err) {
    err.printStackTrace();
    When i double click the file e:\folder\Run.bat, it will create a jar file for HelloWorld.class.
    But, i want to create that jar file using the java program CmdExec.java.
    When i run CmdExec.java, the batch file is opened. But it shows error as "Can't find the specified file"
    But when i copy the following files to "d:\",
    e:\folder\HelloWorld.class
    e:\folder\mainClass.txt
    the jar file is created using the CmdExec.java.
    But,
    e:\folder\HelloWorld.class
    e:\folder\mainClass.txt
    these files should be in the folder"e:\folder" only.
    Can anyone Help me this Problem?
    Or Anyother way for creating a jar file for one program by using another program?
    Help me soon.............

    Try this. It's not running a bat file. You can say it almost is a bat file.
    import java.io.*;
    import java.util.Scanner;
    public class CmdExec {
        public static void main(String argv[]) {
            try {
                Process p = Runtime.getRuntime().exec("jar cmf mainClass.txt HelloWorld.jar *.class");
                Scanner s1=new Scanner(new InputStreamReader(p.getInputStream()));
                while(s1.hasNextLine())
                    System.out.println(s1.nextLine());
                p.waitFor();
                System.out.println(p.exitValue());
                if(p.exitValue()==0)
                    System.out.println("Okay");
                else
                    System.out.println("Error");
            catch (Exception ex) {
                ex.printStackTrace();
    }Run it in the same folder as mainClass.txt

    EG:- "C:\TestDir\test.doc"
    Thanks

    Well /C is not the path to the app. It is a switch to
    the command line.
    set your file name to "C:/test.doc"
    ~TimSorry, I guess my reply doesn't really answer the problem. But you can supply the entire path as part of the file name string.
    String file = "C:/Path/To/My/File/to execute/test.doc"

    plz give me that code ! very urgent
    Advance Thanks !

    Swing Tutorial:
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/index.html
    Since you don't know the basic of swing read the tutorial, it is for your own good because it is useless if we provide you with a code you don't even understand and how it works.
    If you want a menu read the tutorial about using menus and for opening a file read using JFileChooser.
    note: don't use the word urgent because it implies that your problem is more important than others.

  • How to open a pdf file and then attach it with images

    I am new to Indesign Server.
    I'm currently working on a pdf.
    I have a white blank pdf template.
    that I want to attach/glue it with images.
    How to open a pdf file and then attach it with images.
    Please, help me.
    Thanks.

    First step would be to make yourself familiar with InDesign desktop version.
    Whatever you intend to achieve, do it there manually. (see regular app docs or forums)
    Then try to automate your steps with scripting (see scripting docs or forum)
    If you can do it with a script in the desktop version, that script will likely also run in ID Server. (see server forum).
    If you can specify missing features not achievable thru scripting or manual use, reconsider to write a plugin (this forum).
    A seasoned C++ programmer will need a few months to learn the basics, wade thru tons of documentation etc. Alternatively consider to hire a consultant to do the development work for you.
