how to know path to put in browser ?

I think Metalink NOTE:280116.1 covers changing the ias_admin password when it's forgotten.
Basically, you edit $ORACLE_HOME/sysman/j2ee/config/jazn-data.xml and remove the <credentials> property.
Then you can reset the password with: $ORACLE_HOME\bin\emctl set password reset <new password>
Or, sounds like you can put the password into jazn-data.xml (NOTE:280587.1) by editing the <credentials> property:
Replace the existing encrypted password with the new password.
Be sure to prefix the password with an exclamation point (!). For example:
<credentials>!mynewpassword123</credentials>

Unable to open application server control page

Hi,
i have a problem to open application server control page in client machine.
below is the error gets while opening the page;
ERROR:
'An error was encountered while loading page. There was a communication problem contacting the agent. This may be a transient network problem. There was a communication problem fetching monitoring data. This may be a transient network problem'

Unable to open application server control console on rhel4

Dear All
I have installed oracle application server 10g R2 forms & Reports services on RHEL4.
While trying to open apllication server control console browser is showing following error
"Connection refused when attempting to contact"
Due to this problem, i am not able to access forms and reports which is deployed on same server.
Please tell me the solution to resolve this issue.

Due to this problem, i am not able to access forms and reports which is deployed on same server.Things are not related with each other, you can run forms and reports without having control console running, and viceversa.
That said, did you start forms and reports and control console ?
$ opmnctl startall
$ emctl start iasconsole

How to Install Application Server Control on top of AS J2EE Installation.

I just installed AS 10g 10.1.2, upgraded it to 10.1.2.3 and applied Jul2008 CPU.
It was initially a simple J2EE install (with only J2EE and OC4J).
It seems there is no EM Application Server Control component since all attempts below failed:

Oracle Management Agent Port = 1157
Application Server Control RMI port = 1850
Application Server Control port = 1156
I am accessing the system (unix servers, etc) via vpn.
Question:
1) How do I verify if Application server control is installed or not installed.
2) How do I install Application server control if the component has not been installed
on top of AS 10.1.2.3 (base 10.1.2 install with 10.1.2.3 upgrade Jul2008 cpu)

AS Control gets installed with every install type so it should be there. Refer this for details:

If http://host.domain:1156 doesn't work, AS Control might not be up. Start it using "$OH/bin/emctl start iasconsole". Refer below (mainly point #3 below) for details on what and how to start a mid-tier instance:

Can't open Application Server Control

I'm not familiar with Oracle AS, and after installation i can't enter to Application Server Control via web interface.
I receive 404 error (Page not found) vi http://10.160.2.243:7777/em link. But HTTP server is working via http://10.160.2.243:7777 link.
I run the opmnctl status

How to monitor ODI in Grid Control

Hello
We are using Grid Control 11.1.0.1.0 and ODI 11.1.1.5.0.
We were previously using a grep command on the server that ODI was running from to monitor if it was up or not.
Since the (OEM) upgrade we have lost this metric and would like to take a more elegant approach to monitoring the state of ODI.
(We didn't install ODI as part of a WebLogic Server install, it is stand alone and therefore the plugins or usual way to monitor are not relevant to us.)
Is there a way I can have Grid (via a UDM for instance) go into the database and query for a process?
If the process is found then no alert is sent. This also means that we will only have to blackout the database during cold backups instead of the whole server.
Hopefully this makes sense and hopefully someone can give me a few hints / tips on how to achieve this?

You can find info about the backups in sysman.mgmt$ha_backup. But only one entry per database can be seen. So only for the latest rman job you will find info here.
You could also start using a rman catalog that will contain all backup info (example http://oracleinstall.wordpress.com/2011/06/03/oracle-11g-rman-catalog-setup/). You can create reports/queries on the rman repository to get the info you need.
Or even better: create a rman repository and schedule the rman jobs using Grid/Cloud Control.

How to access application server 10g, if client machine is proxy settings.

i have installed oracle application server 10gR2, on vertual machine, windows2003
my forms are stored in forms folder , i can access the application/forms
throuhg client machines, if proxy setting is unchecked, but if proxy is chacked can't access application.
as there with the user machine is required with proxy setting. how
to access the application. i mean what is the configuration.
in application server so that any computer (client machine)
can access weather it is having proxy setting or not.

now i enabled the java console to see the trace, there i found. if proxy is checked in client brouser with 8080 port which is required by organisation.

Where as if there if i remove proxy setting by uncheck. then application goes smoothly.

How to open a second grid, by clicking on first grid

On my htm page, i have a grid, by clicking on any of row of the first grid, i want to open a second grid, below the first gird, which will contain only the values of that row.
For the first gird, I am using the code      <PARAM NAME="DoubleClickEvent" VALUE="Doubleclick">
and i have written a function as Doubleclick in the java script.
Now want code i should write under the function (Doubleclick) in the java script.
Can you help me out with the code for the same.

How to display application server date and time?

Hi Friends,
                I am getting error when i am trying to display default date,time and client.
I have designed a screen where DATE, TIME and CLIENT are 3 fields in the screen this 3 fields i have to display defaultly date,time and client of the application server.
In the data declarations i have declared like...
DATA: DATE LIKE SY-DATUM,
           TIME LIKE SY-UZEIT,
          CLIENT LIKE SY-MANDT.
In the PBO screen source code i am writeing like...
write: 'DATE', SY-DATUM, / 'TIME', SY-UZEIT, / 'CLIENT', SY-MANDT.
But i am not able to display the output please can anyone point my mistake where i am going useful will be rewarded.

Could you please help me how we can navigate application serverpath; for example in my job the file is placing at this directory /usr/sap/interfaces/WAP/100/MM/OUT/SOFTCONQAG/ARCHIVE in application server, How can I go to that path to check weather file is avilable or not.

Database->10.2.0.2
OS->AIX 5.3
All 64-bit
How I can find the exact version of the Application server. I just see two directories:
/u01/R12/apps/tech_st/10.1.3/
/u01/R12/apps/tech_st/10.1.2/
Please help me out.
