How to open the numbers window in the same place?
I like to have the Numbers window open in the same place every time (lower right hand corner of the screen), so that I can have the windows of other programs open too. As it is, I have to move it there every time. This isn't a big deal, I realize, but I didn't have to do that with the previous version: it always opened the window to the last place it was located when I closed the program the previous time.
Any tips would be appreciated!

When the applet starts, you could give the choice to host or connect to another host using an ip address and port, using the ServerSocket and the Socket classes. However, this requires multiple threads running, but is quite possible. The server would need threads to accept clients, receive information, and send information (plus the built-in gui and event threads). The clients would need a thread to receive information from the server and update the applet page.

How can I set the finder window to open the same way every time?
Everytime I open Finder it goes back to it's default view which is just too small, but I want to set the finder columns and window so that they open the same exact way every single time. I'm tired of resizing everything.
Currently I have to resize every window and column everytime and I think my work is much slower then when I was on Windows because of it.
Is there a setting, script, file, patch, anything, is there absolutely anything I can do to actually control the Finder views and make them adjust to MY criteria and stay that way...That is a big negative. That does absolutely nothing other then close my window, next time the finder window is opened then the column widths are small again.
In Windows Explorer all your windows are customizable, how do I do this with Finder? -
How to open a new window from the login window?

can someone tell me how to open a new window from an existing window, here by window i mean frame. The case is i hv two java files - oracle.java and FDoptions.java. The first frame is in the Login.java. The oracle.java file has a button "Login", when it is clicked, i want to open the next frame which is in the file FDoptions.java. Can some one help me with this? Open application windows in the same place consistently
Hello,
I am hoping to find out if anyone knows of a good way to convince application windows to open in the same location on the screen every time, consistently. This is, clearly, a minor problem, but perhaps you know how to do it. For example, I tend to use Safari with the window open over the entire screen, but every time I open a new window it locates itself with a couple mm between left side of the screen and left side of the Safari window, and the right side of the Safari window (the scroll bar) is partially off the screen (because the window is shifted). So every time I open a new Safari window I have to click the top bar and drag it a little bit to place it where I want it. Is there a way to "teach" Safari where I want it to open so that it will open in the same place every time? Maybe the problem is that I have a hidden dock on the left side of the screen and Safari does not want to come too close to the dock?
(I also have the same issue with Mail, because though I use that program with the application window only open over part of the total screen area it always opens in the same place on the screen which is always slightly off from where I want it to be)

PS I apologize if this has been posted before; I tried several searches but the only results that came up were not at all related to my actual question.I don’t think there is a way to teach Safari not to shift the window when a new one is created. And I don’t think it is related to the position of the Dock.
I leave a few cm of space on the right side of the Safari window and have the screen filled from top to bottom with the Safari window. Then when I make a new window, it opens shifted a little to the right of the previous window, but it doesn’t put the scroll bar off the screen and because the screen is filled from top to bottom, it doesn’t shift down, just right next to the previous window.
You might try using tabs. When you click a link that you want in a new window, hold the Command key down. It will open in a new tab in the same window and you can change between the window tabs by clicking on it on the top of the window. The X on the tab will close the tab. -

A .exe file is a Windows executable. OS X does not run Windows programs. If you need to use .exe files then you will need to install Windows on your Mac:

VirtualBox is a new Open Source freeware virtual machine such as VM Fusion and Parallels that was developed by Solaris. It is not as fully developed for the Mac as Parallels and VM Fusion.
Note that Parallels and VM Fusion can also run other operating systems such as Linux, Unix, OS/2, Solaris, etc. There are performance differences between dual-boot systems and virtualization. The latter tend to be a little slower (not much) and do not provide the video performance of the dual-boot system. See MacTech.com's Virtualization Benchmarking for comparisons of Boot Camp, Parallels, and VM Fusion. Boot Camp is only available with Leopard or Snow Leopard. Except for Crossover and a couple of similar alternatives like DarWine you must have a valid installer disc for Windows.
You must also have an internal optical drive for installing Windows. Windows cannot be installed from an external optical drive. -

I want to know how can we open the "choose application" dialog from InDesign. I want to give this functionality through right click context menu.
At present CS4 has this feature - steps are as follows:
1.Create a document.
2.Place an item on the document.
3.Now select the placed item and right click on it.
4.Go to "Edit With->Other..." option.
5.Choose application dialog opens up and user can select the application in which he/she wants to open the selected item.
I want the same behavior but not able to understand how to open the choose application dialog on Mac. I have already achieved this on windows.
I think that there might be some system API's for Mac to get this working.
Please let me know about this, any help will be appreciable.Is this not sufficient? Looks like you get some defaults then an "other" at the bottom as well. Control click or right click, when using the white arrow on the image.

How to open the OWB Design Center in Linux

Currently, our OWB10.2. is installed in the Window2003 server, I could login the servers and go to Program -> OWB -> Design Center to open the Design center and create my own project or mapping.
We just install OWB 10.2.0.4 in a Linux Ret Hat server, I don't know how to open the Design Center from the Linux.
Should I open it from the Linux server(How), or I could remotely launch the Design Center from my PC (Window XP) to create my project (actually try to migrate project from the weindow2003 server to Red hat Linux server)?

In the Library Chooser Panel look for the pathes to the two duplicate libraries. You will see the location of the libraries in the path bar at the bottom of the window when you select one of the libraries. Does it show both libraries in the same folder? -
As the title suggests...
I have a mix of five Mac and PC's at home using an Airport Extreme Base Station as the router. I need many ports opened on the AEBS for all of the computers- not just one computer. (for example: three people want to play TF2 on Steam at the same time; each machine needs the correct ports open on the router). Port forwarding only allows me to forward a given port to a single IP, yet I need that port open for five differnt IP's, all at the same time.
How do I do that on an AEBS?
In the same way, I have a small office of four iMacs using an old airport with the same exact issue. I would like to be able to connect to all of them remotely with Apple Remote Desktop, but the port forwarding on the airport only allows a port to forward to a single IP. I want to be able to tunnel into the office network and log onto any machine behind the Airport extreme... not just a single IP. I currently have it set up where I can tunnel into the office from my house, I can find the one machine that the port forwarding has been assigned to, I can log on and everything is just fine... with one machine. How do I open the firewall for the other machines?
TL,DR version: How do you open ports on an Airport Extreme Base Station instead of forwarding ports? Forwarding ports doesn't work for multiple IP's.You can open a single or multiple ports to a single device or different ports to different devices, but you cannot open the same port to multiple devices via the AirPort Utility for the Apple routers.
