How to organize a gaming project

Hi freinds,can any one guide how to develope a gaming project.

Hi freinds,can any one guide how to develope a gaming project.I'm sure someone can, but I doubt it that someone will. A public forum like this isn't very suitable for teaching someone to create a complete game. If you have a specific question about Java, you're welcome to post it here.
Try a search engine to find a tutorial on game programming or buy a decent book. Before thinking of creating a game, you should be able to know how to program (in Java), of course.

  • How to organize media and project?

    Hi every one
    I have a couple of questions regarding planning & organization of files/folder:
    Presently, I have organized as Macintosh>Users>Home>LaCie>Project.
    And within the Projects I have logged & captured clips.
    When I hit the Project the browser opens where clips are organized.
    questions:
    1. Is this an efficient way of organizing the Media & its elements? If not, what and how the best way are: Please give me an example
    2. How can I bring the Project and its elements & Media file into a folder? In the finder I don't see any folder/files except the User Folder and the Project Icon.
    3. If I want to import some of the elements of one project into another project iin the Browser I cannot do it unless I have to import the entire Project with its elements. How can I import elements of different project and even Media file? Thank you for your help. Faruk

    I have the main macintosh HD, and 2 internal hardrives... one labelled "Capture" and the other labelled "Render"
    the way i setup my files are as follows.
    1. on the Render drive, i made a folder titled "FCP Projects" within that folder I create another folder for every project I create complete with "Pics" folders "Audio" folders and whatever outside elements you want to bring in to your session..... this keeps all those files in one place when you go to archive them.
    1a. Within the FCP projects folder (along with my project folders) I created a "-FCP Files-" folder.....I use the dashes to keep the folder at the top of the list.. This is where I tell FCP to send all audio render, autosaves, render files, thumbnail cashes, and wave form cashes to...... for all projects. Basically everything but the capture scratches..... that goes on the Capture harddrive.
    2. when I archive a project.... all I take is the project folder from the Render drive with all the pics and audio.... and ignore the fcp files (even the render files) then on the capture harddrive... i back up the capture scratch folder for the specific project.....
    3. if you ever HAVE to load the session back to re edit.... you'll have all the media but need to re render......
    hope that made sense...... I'll attempt to confuse you even more by making a crappy diagram.... but it's worked great for me.

  • How to organize projects

    Hi guys, is there a document/reference or guide that you can give me to understand how to organize all projects and jsp files on the server (9ias tier).?
    More info:
    Everybody has built his own projects (.jpr) and inside every file has its own BC4J and JSP files. How do I organize them in the best way?
    Thanks.

  • How to export all the projects at one time

    I got about 20 projects and content about 7000 pics. I don't want to just export project each time, and I would like to just export all of them at one time, is it possible?
    I don't know where and how to change the name of the master files, and how to organize them properly. Such as I dragged pics from one project to another album, but if I try to delete the pic in the project, it warns me I will delete the master file as well. In the end, I have so many unwanted pic in the project and I can't delete them. Please help with the organizing ...

    Let's start from the whole story. I got too many photos and too many project which taken too much spaces in my computer. So I want to delete those not too good ones and only keep a few in my laptop. On the other hand, some of those not too good ones I want to keep as well. So I use time machine to back up them, but it seems time machine only keep them for about 3 months. In that case, if I delete them, I don't think I would be able to find them after 3 months time.
    I am thinking about exporting them to an external hard drive as an extra backup.
    Now, another part of the story, I was exploring Aperture, setting up different projects, album and dragging the pics around, then everything becomes a mess. I notice that if I drag a photo from project A to B, then the photo will only appear in B but disappeared in A. But if I drag photo from Project C to album D, both of them would have the pic, delete the pic either in the project or the album, it will warn me that I will delete the master file... I don't know how come.
    Therefore, puzzled by where and how they store the master file and how they referenced it, I am here.

  • How to organize the content of MANIFEST.MF

    Most of the jar files contain a file named META-INF/MANIFEST.MF, and it provides some information about the class in the jar files, but when I execute the code below, I can't output all of the jar file name in the eclipse project's classpath.
    import java.net.URL;
    import java.util.Enumeration;
    public class TestClassLoader {
    public static void main(String args[]) throws Exception {
    Enumeration<URL> en = TestClassLoader.class.getClassLoader().getResources("META-INF");
    while (en.hasMoreElements()) {
    URL metaInf = en.nextElement();
    System.out.println(metaInf.toExternalForm());
    So I want to know how to organize the content of MANIFEST.MF file to output the file name

    getResources doesn't do what you apparently think it does. The resource path still has to be an exact match, but getResources allows for the possibility that the same resource path may occur multiple times on the class path.
    You could use it to access all the MANFEST.MF files on the classpath but you'd need to full resource path "META-INF/MANIFEST.MF"
    The code you've written doesn't access the contents of the manifests, of course. To access the contents of manifests use java.util.jar.Manifest objects.

  • Referenced database organization for big projects

    i am in desperate need of some software to organize my various projects. i am including just one kind of example below but there are other needs that are related. perhaps some folks can throw out ideas along with how /they/ use the software? i would really, really like to keep it simple and stay away from obsessive tagging with multiple dropdown lists etc.
    THANKS
    the lowdown:
    today i am realizing i have a set of folders with PDF portfolios and .doc or pdf cover letters along with email "cover letters" that i printed to pdf (sigh) all in a set of folders that are "tagged" by type of work. /and/ i also have an old numbers spreadsheet that i worked up that has email addresses and names and contact information - along with a column for NOTES for some of these submissions.
    so for this set of information i really need a way to see the contact information in a numbers like spreadsheet, be able to see the comments, be able to click on an active email link AND have immediate and visual access to the pdf COVER LETTER and the pdf PORTFOLIO - along with access the the .doc files and any image based files that came along with the submission. right now this is half here and half there.
    i /have/ been printing out this information and keeping it in binders (a la Mitt i guess) but this is totally unworkable moving forward and i need the information to be moderately portable...
    as another example i am /also/ in desperate need of some software to organize academic papers (almost all pdf's but not exclusively) in a way that will let me add and export the document so that it retains metadata.
    similarly i need to organize PROJECTS which can contain all manner of data and these just sort of float around in various folder organization configurations when i /manually/ move, sort and organize data. it would be super to have all this in one place with a set of notes that shows a PLAN for tackling this particular project so that it shows some level of (visual or other) organization with the other files.
    does such a beast exist?

    2.Can we have two different deployments, their's and
    ours ( in the same vm), with their's jar/ear files
    accessing our jar/ear files?Yes - and you will also need to furnish them with the EJB client .jar file (Home and Remote interfaces and your custom data objects and/or exceptions, if any) and the APIs to those classes.

  • How to organize in a desktop folder

    For the fifth time this week I just lost hours worth of work because Apple refuses to let us, the users, organize our folder in a way that makes sense. I work on several small projects during the week and as such I have many clips and voice overs and assorted clutter all over the place. Whenever I try to put everything associated with Project A into a single folder, Final Cut Express has a panic attack and destroys the project, refusing to reconnect to anything and trashing all of my work. For some reason Apple thinks it's highly intuitive to have raw video in one folder, clips in another, voice overs in a third, and assorted other stuff in a fourth. Trying to put them all into a single folder (so you can, you know, back up on a single DVD, or God forbid, actually find something to use in a different project) is beyond their comprehension. They like scattering all aspects of a project into as many different locations as possible and force you to try to find it all.
    So is there a third-party program or something that will allow mere mortals to put everything associated with a project into one folder? Yes, I know I'm asking a completely blasphemous question here and should be banned from these forums, but I'm going to make one last attempt at using Final Cut Express before I delete it all, shred the install disc, and move over to Adobe's video editing software.

    JustCallMe Dude wrote:
    think of it like weaving a web in a sense or, like a road map
    And when was "weaving" ever a good idea for placing elements of a computer project? When you use a word processor, do you store paragraphs as separate elements in separate folders? Here's what destroyed the project I spent two and a half hours on today: I captured the raw video, broke it down into a couple dozen cuts, arranged them and did some rough editing, then did various color correcting. So far so good. Then I did a voice over to work on the timing. Because I am not a professional voice actor, it took me a few tries before I read the short script all the way through without a mouth fumble. I went to the scratch folder to drag the sound file over to the project folder, and because I'm working on this with someone else, they need everything I do to tweak and finalize. Now I know every other person in the world who works with video can remember exactly what is in "Voice Over 27" and "Voice Over 46" but my friend and I are obviously brain damaged because we need descriptive titles to tell them apart, so I foolishly renamed "Voice Over 3" to "Scene 1 script read through." Yes, I admit this is all my fault. Who am I to screw up Apple's perfect weaving file system? In my ******** arrogance I thought I could reconnect the file to the project. God, am I stupid or what?
    While I was there I deleted the two false starts. When I got back into FCE it panicked! Couldn't find the two false starts so decided to throw a temper tantrum. Wouldn't save the project, wouldn't reconnect to the proper voice over, wouldn't run any video until I brought back the failed voice over files (even though they were deleted from the timeline before I started again). Eventually the program crashed and the project file was trashed. I'll have to start over again from scratch.
    You'd think with all of the employees Apple has, one of them would have said "Gee, maybe people would like to put all of the files corresponding to a project into a single project folder, and possibly even rename them with something usefully descriptive. Then maybe, just maybe, people might be able to archive their projects in a halfway decent fashion, like they can with Adobe programs." Of course, if an employee said that they would have been stoned to death by the software engineers before they went back to work adding more weaves to their file routing subroutines.
    What I do before I start any project is. first create a project file and name it after the project. say " Dudes Movie " , now inside that file I'll add other files . still images , video or what ever else I may want or need. from that point on it's just a matter of always saving my FCE created files and material in that projects file and, never move any file from that files location.
    That's what I did. But that voice over can only be saved in the scratch folder, and as I discovered every single false start voice over you ever do has to remain in that folder for all eternity.
    I hope that all makes sense. I did the same thing one time and wasted a three month long project. it only took one time of feeling that sting to understand. it was simply my own fault.
    Yup, it's all my fault for thinking Final Cut Express would let you save files in useful locations, or even rename them so others who aren't as ******** as I am can understand what they are. And then to have the audacity to think that I could archive all files for a project in a single folder, why, I must have been mad! Mad, I tell you!

    Eh? Aside from render and cache folders, FCE only uses makes folder for each project inside the capture scratch.
    But inside separate folders within the scratch. Another project that was ruined because of this had the captured video in three different folders, with three different names, and had the two voice overs (and one false start) in two different folders.
    Maybe we should start a collection so as to buy a few Adobe products and send them to Apple so they can see how to do it properly? Or maybe put on a theatrical stage production using mimes, puppets and dancing elephants to show them how useful a "Collect All Project Elements To New Folder" option would be. Or how about a historical paper on "The Design and Uses of Archives" read by John Ratzenberger and animated by Pixar.
    You should create another folder for the project file and other associated media, stills, graphics, etc. Voice-overs recorded in FCE go into the capture scratch folder. Other voice over or audio elements can be put in the capture scratch folder with the video media as well and imported from there.
    But once they are placed in the scratch folder (which gets messy when it's time to archive everything and send it to your partner) it has to remain in there for all eternity, or else FCE panics and you lose everything.
    If I don't find a solution to this soon, I'm definitely going to trash everything related to FCE, buy Adobe, and tell everybody who asks to avoid Final Cut as much as possible. This part of it should have been so easy, so intuitive, so useful, but instead it's confusing, annoying and catastrophic.

  • How to organize j2me classes into packages?

    Hello!
    I'm using Wireless Toolkit 2.5.2 and I have got a question about it.
    Does anybody know, how to organize j2me classes into packages?
    As far as I know, all source files should be placed inside WTK_home_directory\apps\my_project\src folder.
    Although it is possible to create arbitrary folder structure (for example, src\com\my_company\www\my_package) and successfully compile the project,
    it's not possible to run it on the emulator or any target device. Trying to do it, I get ClassNotFound exception.
    It's not surprisingly, because virtual machine on the device doesn't know, where to look for desired classes.
    So the question is how to add new entries to the device classpath (of course, if it exists)?
    And is it possible to configure it through application descriptor (jad) file somehow?
    Any ideas, references, descriptions?
    Thanks in advance,
    A.

    Hello!
    So, I have found the solution and this question is not actual any more.
    The solution is quite simple - you have to properly configure application jad-file.
    It can be done like this (in ktoolbar):
    1. Open project settings from main menu (Project - Settings).
    2. Then go to MIDlets tab.
    3. There you have to change value in "*class*" column (for example, to smth like this - com.my_company.www.my_package.my_midlet_class_name).
    4. Press Ok button.
    Having done these steps, you will be able to have any package structure you need
    (because after it AMS on the device will know where to look for your application class files).

  • How to organize 250hrs of footage?

    Dear FCPX users,
    at this moment I'm capturing hundreds of hours of my VHS-archives. All of those contain registrations of live performances and I want to save and edit the best parts. The biggest challenge will be how to organize in such way, that I'll be able to group similar subjects and themes. Each VHS-tape is between 1 and 4 hours long. When I'm done capturing the tapes, there will be approx 75 videos with a total duration of 250 hours.
    I am aware that an event of 250 hours isn't anything new, but the peculiarity is the duration of each file, which makes it a chore to look at in the event window.
    What I would like to to is go through each video in a timeline, cut and delete the bad parts, tag the good stuff. In the event the keywords should appear and when selected, only the parts tagged with that keyword should appear, NOT the full video of which some part or parts are tagged with that keyword. How can that be achieved?
    In the end I'd love to trim the project (like in Premiere) only to keep the good parts, which will be 10% or probably less.
    Thanks in advance for any help.

    vjstalker wrote:
    …And what am I doing wrong if I see the full video (tiny selections within those 4 hours) instead of the selections only?…
    then, you do look at the Event, not at the keyword-collection..
    Lessson #5 Lessons for FCPX
    You should really get familiar with the awesome organizing tools of FCPX before launching such a large project.
    Another excellent advice can be found here
    http://www.fcp.co/final-cut-pro/tutorials/1436-log-like-a-ninja-in-final-cut-pro -x-with-michael-garber
    Title is a bit funny … but working with tags, keywords and smart-collections is real fun!!
    is it possible to cut in the timeline, tag the remaining parts of the clip and see those tags in the event?
    any used parts are tagged automatically as <cough> used, which for sure you can set as (part of) a filter for some smart-collection.
    But the recommended workflow is, to tag first in the Events-browser, and switch then to your Project.
    Tagging is done much faster, more flexible and detailed, just 'better' in a step before editing.

  • How to organize assets in Adobe Audition

    I've been exporting my Premiere Pro sessions to Audition for mixing and have liked the flexibility of what Audition can do.  But I've also been completely baffled by how one organizes assets in an efficient way (such as using folders or bins like in After Effects or Premiere).  I'm only editing a :60 trailer and I'm getting lost trying to find the files I need.  I can't imagine trying to do audio-post on a short film (or god forbid any kind of feature) if this option doesn't exist.  I've googled around and have found people asking this questions since 2009, with none of them answered.
    Sometimes this sort of thing happens and I'm pleasantly surprised that there's an easy option I somehow missed.
    Often times, I'm convinced that if Adobe built automobiles like it makes software, the cars would have no turn signals or headlights.
    I'm afraid we have a "headlight" moment here.  Please, someone prove me wrong.
    Thanks for any help.

    Yes, the over-arching project, and the organisation of assets into bins is the making of Premiere.  All the audio files I use in my Premiere projects have been edited in Audition, using the round trip method from within Premiere.  With care I can put the extracted audio files from Premiere within my Windows folder structure for the video project.  Left to itself, Audition puts them in an obscure corner of my User folder within the Windows installation - the last thing I want in there is multi-megabyte audio files.
    I have often wondered how you guys who work primarily with audio and no attached video cope with project organisation.  Even with my Premiere based use of Audition, a project/"bin" based structure for Audition would be very useful.  This is because I extract the audio from all my video files, and then work exclusively in Audition.  Finally, when the audio edit is done, I import my nice clean audio files back into Premiere.

  • API for adding external roles/parties to an organization in oracle projects

    Hi,
    I need a help on the API for creating external roles/parties to an organization in oracle projects. There are two APIs in oracle for roles - pa_project_pub.load_org_roles and pa_project_pub.load_key_members. load_key_members api is used to load team members which are employees to a project and load_org_roles is used to add an organization role to a project. But how to use these API to load a party/external role to the organization role (or) is there any other api to do this functionality. Please suggest me on this.

    How can I organise my projects by date?

    Oddly enough, there is no option I know of to organize by date or even by name. Later projects I've created end up between earlier projects I've done.
    Maybe something to suggest via the "Create an idea" action? (Go back out to the discussions and you should see it in the upper right.)

  • Assignment of two diffrent Organization on same Project

    Dear Dina,
    Can we assign two different Organization on same project.Viz on header of project suppose we assign org A and org B on one of the task named dropshipment?Now can we get Project and Task reference in Sale Order for the same?If these is possible, how can we achive the same?
    Thanks
    Haresh

    Hi
    In Oracle Projects you can have only one organization as Project Owning Organization.
    You can have the same or other organizations on each of the tasks as the Task Organization.
    In Project Manufacturing Organization you can assign a project to the inventory organization. You can assign the same project to various inventory organizations. There is no limitation as regard to the owning organization. The owning organization of a project can be, but does not have to be, a PJM / Inventory organization.
    Go to Project Manufacturing Menu, Projects, Projects Parameters. On this form you select the projects that you want to assign to that PJM/Inventory organization. On that form you also enter the Costing and Planning groups, the WIP accounting Class, and expenditure types for invoice variances.
    When you enter a Sale Order for a specific inventory organization, you could enter the project and task to the sale order. Only Projects assigned previously to that PJM organization will appear on the LOV, of the sale order line.
