How to organize "updated projects"

I have a lot of Imovie 9 projects that were put in the "Updated Projects" folder when importing to imovie 10.  They are all sort of in a jumbled mess in that folder. Is there anyway to organize these projects and events into some way using the date they were created? All of these projects seem to have the same date in that Updated projects folder.
My imovie 9 does still exist and everything is organized there but i would like to use imovie 10 from now on if possible.
Thanks so much
Ross

With the fundamental chage in the way stuff is stored in iMovie 10, there is no automatic way to organise but you can move projects and clips between events and you can move events between libraries.  You might want to move each of your updated projects into the event it belongs to.  You can create as many libraries as you want and can choose to open only those containing projects you are currently working on.
See:  http://help.apple.com/imovie/mac/10.0/#mov3fa25bae7
To organize by date you can of course include the date in event and library names.  Within events clips appear according to their timestamp and you can choose to group clips by date within an event.  (View - Show Separate Days in Events).
Its a very flexible system but a bit of a pain for people who have a lot of stuff organized the 'old' way.
Note:  Some people are reporting problems with wrong timestamps - but AVOID using the Modify - Adjust Clip Date and Time function since there is currently a nasty bug which can cause adjusted clips to disappear.
I hope this helps.

Hi guys, is there a document/reference or guide that you can give me to understand how to organize all projects and jsp files on the server (9ias tier).?
    More info:
Everybody has built his own projects (.jpr) and inside every file has its own BC4J and JSP files. How do I organize them in the best way?

  • How Do I Update a Project's "Project" File

Does anyone know how to edit the Project data file that is found inside an iMovie Project package?
(Right click on any iMovie Project in the Finder and you will be presented with an option to, "Show Package Contents." Within the iMovie Project package, you'll see several files and folders. One of the files is labeled Project. This can be opened in Property List Editor or Xcode.)
Several months ago I created an project within iMovie. The project used video clips stored in my iPhoto Library. Something corrupted my iPhoto Library and I was forced to delete the iPhoto Library, create a new iPhoto Library, and restore my content from my Time Machine backup.
This caused the file paths to the content in my iPhoto Library to change. As a result, iMovie can no longer find the referenced video clips.
I've opened the Project data file for the iMovie Project package in both Property List Editor and in Xcode. I've found the object items that list the file paths and have updated them accordingly. Also, I've updated the folder names of the folders found in the Proxies folder. However, after saving the Project data file, iMovie no longer recognizes the iMovie Project package as a project and it is no longer listed within iMovie's list of projects.

It is possible that you inadvertently corrupted the file while doing the edit.
But it could also be possible that you moved the file? For iMovie to see it, it should be in the Movies/iMovie Projects folder.

  • How can i organize this project?

    Hi guys,
i'm working to a JSF project, and i need to integrate some Flex.. i have a Flex application that is a Chart (i added some features to the Flex chart).
I will embed this flex application in some page, and this is not going to be a problem.. i can embed it and i can use the external interface of flex to, for example, set some property before doing a database query for the data (i'm using spring-flex too, to use the beans of the application).
The problem is that, for example, in another jsf page, i have to develop an application that contains a chart too.. i mean, for example:
    - page_1.jspx: i embed the chart, to show some i can set with the external interface api
    - page_2.jspx: i want to embed another application in flex that use that chart too.. for example with a menu to select dates or parameters.
The problem is that the same flex app, the chart, is being used as an application.. but i need to use it like a component too.
I can resolve this using the SWFLoader, for sure, but.. the same chart that use the external interface.. i have to use it with SWFLoader in another way.. so in the same chart app i should implement code for both things.
Well.. i'm asking help just to know how would you organize this projects, because i don't have many experience with it.
I hope i've explained well the problem, sorry for my english if i wrote something wrong.
    Thanks,
    Danilo

Sounds like you want to leverage the same chart component that you developed on another page but embed a second application in the page with additional controls. Not a big deal. Just define some clean interfaces between them and let them communicate through the ExternalInterface. This way you can swap out them out easily. For example, you could decide to ditch the Flex control app and use HTML instead and not have to change a whole lot.

  • How can I update the project varibles  in OBPM 10.3

    Hi All,
OBPM version : 10.3.2 (weblogic Enterprise version)
How can I update the project variables from the External process?
I per my knowledge we use termination wait activity and notify the same from the external process. I am successfully do this but I am facing the performance issue with this and sometimes even data sources pool is getting exhausted.
Could you please tell me is there any other way to update the project variables?
    Thanks in advance.

I do not disagree with Mark about using Message Waits to update project variables. I'm right in the middle of logic right now that is doing just that.
If you have thousands (or in your case millions) of instances to update all at once, you might want to also want to consider another approach. I obviously do not know your process and sure you've thought of this, but you could use a database to store this same information that you are currently using project variables for. You'd need a table that has the instance's unique id (e.g. case id, loan number, claim number) as the primary key and then have columns to store the information you are currently storing in project variables.
Taking this approach, you'd be updating the milliions of rows in the database very quickly. You could still have project variables in your process, but they would be set at the beginning of a Screenflow or in an Automatic activity using a SELECT statement against the database table using the unique id of the instance as the key.

  • I just updated to the latest aperture, i have projects previously saved on a drive (in the old version) that now won't load... how do i update them?

    Hi,
i just updated to the latest aperture, i have projects previously saved on a drive (in the old version) that now won't load... how do i update them?

But, unless I missed something, you are doing the repair with Aperture 3.5 so if 3.5 can't open an earlier library before doing the upgrade then unless I'm missing something the library will be upgraded before the repair is run, no?
    OT:
You got me there, Frank - I wondered about the same thing, but Aperture is behaving differently, when upgrading a library, depending on if you are launching into the First Aid Tools or not.
I repeated my experiments, to explore this difference:
I restored an Aperture 3.4.3 library and launched the First Aid Tools:
Apertur went directly into First Aid Mode without first asking to upgrade.
Then "Repair" asked to be allowed to upgrade the library as you predicted.
During the upgrade "Aperture"showed "Rebuilding", not "Repairing" or "upgrading".
Second experiment: When I only double-click the 3.4.3 library instead of repairing, the upgrade alert is very different:
It takes a shorter time and does not show "rebuilding".
I am quite certain, that Aperture will use a different upgrade prodecure, when launched into the First Aid panel for repairing or rebuilding.

Kevin is suggesting that you store the projects you create while working through his book in a folder called RoboHelpProjects. It is not where you have to store every project you ever create. That is for the purposes of his book.
RoboHelp initially defaults to My RoboHelp Projects but it's up to you whether you do. Generally on the forums we advise against that as  it is part of your profile and can result in excessively long path names in a few cases. Generally where authors create file names that are so long they almost serve as the content.
Projects always have a root folder, call them Project 1 and Project 2 for this purpose. You can have those folders directly off your C drive (or other local partition) or within in a parent folder as above.
Now to what you can and cannot do. You can delete a whole project by selecting Project 1 or Project 2 in Windows Explorer. Obviously if you delete the parent folder you will delete all your projects within.
What you must not do is delete individual files within a project using Windows Explorer, for that you use RoboHelp's Project Manager. The exception is if you go to Tools > Reports there is a report Unused Files. Files listed there will have to be deleted using Windows Explorer for the very good reason they do not appear in Project Manager and, therefore, cannot be deleted that way.
If you think about it, it is similar to Word. There is no option to delete a document there other than using File > Open and right clicking. Not very intuitive.

  • How to organize  project structure  for big application architecture

    Hi all:
We prepare to construct a medium erp project using JHeadstart,
so we have some application system like human resource, accounting, inventory, ...
What's the best suite to organize application project architecture ?
we have this issue about application architecture:
1.how to fulfill large scale application and must to share some common view object and entity object in all application, May we to break the application down into multiple BC4J packae in same project or separate each subsystem in each project folder?

You can definitely organize your applications into as many packages as makes sense for your overall design.
You can create and deploye packages of BC4J components in simple *.jar archives and then uses features of JDeveloper to import those shared packaged of components in a read-only mode in projects that need to make use of them.

  • How to update project library list from an extension

    Hello,
I'm writing an extension that needs to update project library list. I want to add a jar file in the library. How can I do this? Is there a sample code that does similar logic?
    Thanks.

    Hi José,
    2 considerations:
The first one is that (as you experienced) one should not delete or rename any of the predefined columns in the risk/issue list. What you did is the right way, meaning keeping the native column as is and creating new ones based on the business needs. Finally
you just need to create view with the appropriate fields.
Then for importing risks from an Excel list, I can't test it right now, but you should have a datagrid view (MS Access type) allowing you pasting data from Excel.
    Hope this helps,

  • How can I turn off organizer update?

How can I turn off elements organizer update?

In your Adobe Application Manager you have something like this:
Remove the tick marks (I believe you guys call it check marks) against the product for which you don't need updates.  See the red boxed item.  Also make sure the right side has the two ticks as shown because that is always required.

  • How do you update a Project that is not inside Library?

I have projects on my external hard drive that are independent from my new library. How do I update them so I can use them in my updated Aperture 3 library?

When you export a project Aperture makes it a library. So just double click on the 'project' in the Finder and Aperture will open with this as its current library.

  • How do I use multiple librarys to organize my projects

Is there a way to use multiple libraries to organize my projects. I don't like having all my projects in one library. I'd like separate libraries for Family_Movies, BirthdaysandHolidays, Vacations, etc...
    Thanks.

You can create multiple folders in your Project Library. I have a folder for each year. Then within the year, if I make several videos on one subject (say a trip to Europe) I will create sub folders within the year.
There is no limitation on what you name your Folders, so you could name them Family Movies, Vacations, Birthdays, etc.
When you are in the Project Library View, you can click FILE/NEW FOLDER. For a subfolder, click on the parent folder and then click New Folder.

  • How to open old projects after updating FCPX

My old version of FCPX was not that old, but I recently updated it to 10.1.2 and it now has the libraries rather than events. After I clicked up update projects and events it has brought my old events into the libraries viewer, but I do not see any of my old projects. I was just wondering/hoping that I can still access all my old projects and where I need to go to import them back in. Many thanks for any help or advice.

No the projects were in the bottom right of fcpx and the events were in the top left. Yes I see now each of my hard drives is listed under 'libraries" and has all the events and import contents listed by name and then each one has a folder "updated projects" with what seems like all of my projects. So is there no way to associate the events and projects back together or at least under the same tab? Anyways, thanks for helping me find my projects, just seems like more of a hassle to get there: hard drive > Updated Projects > Project - rather than just pulling up the projects. I guess it's something to get used to. Is there any alternate way of organizing it or is this just the set standard now? Thanks again

  • How do I update GarageBand after upgrading to Yosemite 10.10.1

I have GarageBand on my MacBook Pro but have recently upgraded to Yosemite OS X 10.10.2. I wanted to use GarageBand but rec'd a message that there is a newer version. I didn't think I should have to pay for an upgrade in the App Store. How do I update my version of GarageBand?

Which version of GarageBand do you currently have?
Updates are free (when the first number of the version number stays the same), but upgrades to a major new release require a purchase (when the first part of the version number changes).  So the upgrade from GarageBand '11, version 6.0.5 to GarageBand 10.0.3 is a major upgrade, that requires a purchase.
If you decide to upgrade, do not replace your current GarageBand version, if you are currently running GarageBand 6.0.5. Keep both versions. The new GarageBand is very different from version 6.0.5 - it is more like Logic than GarageBand. It comes with nice new features like smart drummers, but but older audio units are no longer support. If you decide to upgrade your system, keep your current GarageBand as well. Both can be used in parallel and you will need the sounds and loops from the previous version to play your older projects. This forum is full of desperate questions about how to get the previous version back, because instruments are missing or podcasts no longer supported.
