  • Page Break in rtf template

    Hi
    We have inserted page break using split-by-page-break in rtf template, it is working if we use page break syntax for 2 sub sections after main section
    where as it is not working if we have 3 sections giving syntax below in both cases
    Groups and syntax used with 2 sections (Page break at G_OPERATIONS is working)
    <?for-each@section:G_JOB?>
    <?start:body?>
    <?for-each:G_OPERATIONS?>
    <?IF:CF_SHOW_RES='Y' ?>
    <?for-each:G_RESOURCES?> <?end for-each?>
    <?end if?>
    <?split-by-page-break:?> <?end for-each?>
    <?end for-each?>
    <?end body?>
    Groups and syntax used with 3 sections (Page break at G_OPERATIONS is not working)
    <?for-each@section:G_JOB?>
    <?start:body?>
    <?for-each:G_OPERATIONS?>
    <?IF:CF_SHOW_RES='Y' ?>
    <?for-each:G_RESOURCES?> <?end for-each?>
    <?end if?>
    <?IF:CF_SHOW_OP='Y' ?>
    <?for-each:G_INSTRUCTIONS?> <?end for-each?>
    <?end if?>
    <?split-by-page-break:?> <?end for-each?>
    <?end for-each?>
    <?end body?>
    Let me know if any hints on fixing this issue

    Try using <xsl:attribute name="break-before">page</xsl:attribute> within a form field instead of using the split-by-page-break.
    You can also use this <xsl:attribute name="break-after">page</xsl:attribute> depending on your requirement..

  • How to convert pdf to rtf format

    I am badly facing problem in exporting pdf to rtf please help me.

    Look at the doc.saveAs JavaScript method: http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.524.html
    You can save to other formats when you include the corresponding cConvID parameter. It can be used in a batch sequence, but you'll need the Pro version for that.

  • Problem with importing page breaks

    When I import text from WORD, Indesign adds an extra space after my manual page breaks. See pic.
    How do I change this setting?
    Thanks!

    Peter, yes, I placed the cursor right in front of the first letter in the line when I inserted the page break.
    Here's an answer I just got from a MS Office forum. I am led to assume that I will now have to fix this "empty paragraph" problem manually before I import any MS Word 2010 doc into InDesign...
    RE: Word 2010 adds a paragraph mark after my manual page breaks. Why?
    In previous versions of Word, you could have unintended results: if you changed the line immediately after the page break to a heading, the line before the page break would be formatted as a heading too because it belonged to the same paragraph. Automatically inserting a paragraph break prevents that, so for most users this will be an improvement. You can delete the extra paragraph breaks after inserting the page break.

  • Exporting report to Word, Word editable or RTF adds page breaks

    Our workforce management software (Aspect Workforce Management) uses Crystal 2008 for customer reports.  Previewing, printing, and exporting to HTML, PDF, and Excel all work fine but exporting the report to Word, Word Editable, and RTF results in a document that contains extra page breaks in the middle of pages or other strange paging behavior.
    With the regular Word export and the RTF export we see some pages containing the first half of the page at the top of a page followed by a break then the second half of the page on the next page at the bottom of the page.  E.G., lots of empty whitespace at the bottom of a page followed by lots of empty whitespace at the top of the next page which ends with content that should have been at the bottom of the previous page.
    The Word Editable export doesn't seem to insert weird page breaks but every page says 1 of N as the page number in the footer.  Other export formats number the pages correctly.
    Our customers are demanding a fix for this problem, which seems to be a Crystal defect.  I don't understand why PDF and HTML and Excel all page correctly but not Word, Word Editable, or RTF.  How hard is it to generate the export without causing extra page breaks or incorrectly numbered pages?
    Is this problem acknowledged by SAP to be defect in the word, word editable, and rtf export options?  Is SAP intending to fix this problem?

    And good morning to you too John:
    So, if you wrote the code your self and it is in .NET, why was the issue posted to the SAP Crystal Reports Design forum rather than the .NET - SAP Crystal reports forum? Note that each forum as a nice description in the header as to what sort of questions should be posted in that forum. In light of you posting the issue to the SAP Crystal Reports Design forum, I feel it was a pretty fair to ask the questions I did ask... (?).
    I feel that the way this communication is going, it may be a good idea if you do a bit of searching on these forums. Also, use the search box at the top right corner of this page (it will give you results for KBases, blogs, wikis, articles and more...)
    If you do not get what you need from that, it will be best for you to create a phone case here:
    http://store.businessobjects.com/store/bobjamer/en_US/pd/productID.98078100?resid=S6I@hgoHAkEAAGsiyVkAAAAR&rests=1282226845369
    Note that if what you report is deemed to be a bug in the CR designer or the CR SDK, your phone case will be refunded.

  • Page break problem in rtf template

    I have a nested group as follows:
    For each sub-vote sub-vote desc
    - For Each sub-program details....end of for each sub-program
    total for sub-vote
    end of for each sub-vote
    If the sub-vote and all of its detail records won't fit on a page, then I need a page break.
    The fields are set up in a table. I have unchecked the 'allow row to break across page' for all 4 rows.
    I tried drawing a new table around the existing 4 rows, but I can't seem to uncheck the 'allow row to break across page' for the new table. How do I change properties for the 'parent table' - I'm looking for something that is equivalent to 'select parent frame' from report builder.
    I also tried checking the 'keep with next' checkbox on the paragraph/format for each row.
    When I preview/pdf in word, my sub-programs within a sub-vote are still displaying on differrent pages.
    If anyone can make any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it.
    Thank you.

    I created a new row and then copied the cells (minus the 'for -each' and 'end of for each' cells) as a nested table. Page breaks are now working correctly.
    Thank you.

    I want the g_item_no (repeating group) to have a page break each time LOCATION changes.

    You can declare two variables, to hold the previous and current LOCATION values and break the page when it differs.
    Or just before your end-for-each, have this code.
    <?if:position()!=1 and position()!=last() and LOCATION!=following::LOCATION[1]?><xsl:attribute name="break-before">page</xsl:attribute><?end if?>
    Ensure that its placed in a form field.
    This will have a page break when LOCATION changes.

  • How to remove page breaks in converted document

    This is probably more a Microsoft Word problem, but it started out as an InDesign document, so I thought it wouldn't hurt to post the question here in case someone else has encountered a similar problem.
    I formatted an epub on Amazon for my job. Since I am more familiar with InDesign, I used it along with Amazon's script to turn it into an epub.
    Since then, I've noticed the cover has inexplicably rotated 90 degrees on Amazon. I asked about it in Amazon's forums, and they said InDesign isn't really reliable for epubs.
    So I'm trying to recreate everything in Word. The original Word document isn't up to date with all the editing and corrections I did, so I exported each InDesign chapter document into a PDF, then used Adobe Acrobat to save each PDF as a Word document.
    Some of the resulting Word documents seem to be littered with multiple page breaks and/or section breaks. I'm able to delete most of them, but some of them fall right in the middle of a sentence and won't delete. I've selected the paragraph icon in the ribbon to turn on invisible characters, and I can't see a page or section break indicated in most of these breaks.
    Anyone know what might be causing these and how to delete them?
    Maybe I should just copy everything from my InDesign documents and paste them into Word instead?

    Hello,
    If your reports is executed in the MODE CHARACTER , the "Page Break" generaed in the output is the one defined in the prt file

  • How to insert a page break in smartform

    hi all
    i have to print only ten records per page. Is there anyway to insert a page break in smart forms?????

    hi
    To insert a page-break you have to Create a Node Called COMMAND.
    Here you can Specify a Different PAGE as next page if u want.
    Smartforms: protect lines in main window.
    It was easy with SAPscript, but how to do it with SF's. For 4.7 version if you are using tables, there are two options for protection against line break:
    - You can protect a line type against page break.
    - You can protect several table lines against page break for output in the main area.
    Protection against page break for line types
    - Double-click on your table node and choose the Table tab page.
    - Switch to the detail view by choosing the Details pushbutton.
    - Set the Protection against page break checkbox in the table for the relevant line type. Table lines that use this line type are output on one page.
    Protection against page break for several table lines
    - Expand the main area of your table node in the navigation tree.
    - Insert a file node for the table lines to be protected in the main area.
    - If you have already created table lines in the main area, you can put the lines that you want to protect again page break under the file using Drag&Drop. Otherwise, create the table lines as subnodes of the file.
    - Choose the Output Options tab page of the file node and set the Page Protection option. All table lines that are in the file with the Page Protection option set are output on one page.
    In 4.6, Alternatively in a paragraph format use the Page protection attribute to determine whether or not to display a paragraph completely on one page. Mark it if you want to avoid that a paragraph is split up by a page break. If on the current page (only in the main window) there is not enough space left for the paragraph, the entire paragraph appears on the next page.

  • How to calculate the Page total in Excel format

    Hai all,
    How can we calculate the page total in Excel format, directly in RTF without using the summary column in the RDF.
    Regards

    <?add-page-total:TotalFieldName;’element’?>
    where
    TotalFieldName is the name you assign to your total (to reference later) and
    ’element’ is the XML element field to be totaled.
    You can add this syntax to as many fields as you want to total.
    Then when you want to display the total field, enter the following syntax:
    <?show-page-total:TotalFieldName;’Oracle-number-format’?>
    Pls refer XML Publisher user guide for more info on this.

  • How to change the page break in adobe forms

    Does anyone know how to change the page break on an adobe form?  I'm hoping it will be the same way you change the page view in excel.
    Can anyone help?
    Thank you in advance,
    Priscilla

    HI
          YOU CAN USE THE FOLLOWING SYSTEM FIELDS OF SMARTFORMS FOR THE MENTIONED PURPOSE
    <b>&SFSY-PAGE& </b>
         Inserts the number of the current print page into the text. You determine the  format of the page number (for example, Arabic, numeric) in the page node.
    <b>&SFSY-FORMPAGES&</b>
         Displays the total number of pages for the currently processed form. This  allows you to include texts such as'Page x of y' into your output
    <b>&SFSY-JOBPAGES& </b>
         Contains the total page number of all forms in the currently processed print  request.

  • Add page break when exporting a report as an editable RTF with JRC

    Hello,
    When exporting a report as an editable rtf in Crystal Reports Designer we can select the option : "Insert page break after each report page".
    Does the same option exists in the JRC ? I don't want to use the MSWord export format.
    Thanks in advance.

    Yes.  EditableRTFExportFormatOptions has the following method:
    setInsertPageBreaks(boolean bInsertPageBreaks).  Sets whether page breaks are inserted into the exported Rich Text Format (RTF) file that correspond to the page breaks in the report.
    For more information please see the RAS Documentation in the SDK Library.

  • How to make form a single long page; remove page breaks?

    Hi. I am pretty new to liveCycle but really like it so far! I think these forums are great too. I did a few forums searches and couldn't find a specific answer to this question, so I began this discussion. Please forgive my ignorance if this is has been discussed before!
    I am trying to make a form that isn't intended to be printed. I would like to make it a single long page instead of having page breaks in it. I have experimented with custom page sizes and way able to make the pages longer, but there is a limit to how long liveCycle allows me to make the pages... like 27" or something. I'd like to have no page breaks at all.
    I am not very familliar with XML, but do have some HTML experience, so I could copy/paste some code to the XML sheet if need be-- provided I was told where to put it.
    I attached a bit of the form I would like to turn into a single page to this discussion.
    Any help at all would be greatly appreciated! Thank you very much!

    In teh hierarchy view - click on the Master Page/ Page1. Now on the object palette on the Master Page Tab you can choose a Paper Type. If you scroll to the bottom of the list you can choose a Custom size. The width and height dimensions are now available to you. The UI in designer limits you to 59 in. If you need more than that there is a way to get bigger but you have to do it in the native XML format. Let me know if you need more than that. Here is a modified sample.

  • How to make a page break in report

    Hi,
    I want a page break on the basis of the query. Is it possible to write SQL Plus Command like 'BREAK' in report? Is there any other way to make it? Is there any way using 'P_MAX_ROWS' attribute? I know in CSS2 there are some element 'page-break-before' and 'page-break-after' , but I do not understand how to implement those. Anybody can help me?
    Thanks
    Sumita

    Hi,
    You can do this in the display options tab of the report. You can break on maximum three columns. The sum which you specify in the column formatting section will be calculated for each break.
    Thanks,
    Sharmila
