<jsp:param name="department" value="<%=department%>"/>
<jsp:param name="location" value="<%=location%>"/>
<jsp:param name="supportorg" value="<%=supportorg%>"/>
<jsp:param name="supportflag" value="<%=supportflag%>"/>

Okay, not surprising. Like I said, the & has special meaning in URLs, to seperate one parameter from the next. Perhaps you should thing about using request attributes instead of parameters:
request.setAttribute("department", "R&D");
//then on recieving side
String department = (String)request.getAttribute("department");

  • How to use bean:write inside jsp:include ?

    I got a problem about JSP's syntax. The following is my code:
    <%@ include file="<bean:write name="HelloForm" property="target" />"%>
    The double quotes inside bean:write is my problem. Could you please teach me how to use bean:write within JSP's include? Thank you!

    http://java.sun.com/products/jsp/syntax/1.2/syntaxref12.html
    Include Directive vs <jsp:include>
    The include directive <%@include %> is done at page translation/compile time.
    It effectively pastes in a static file, and then compiles the JSP as if it was all one file.
    As such, you cannot provide a runtime expression to it.
    To do runtime inclusion, you need to use the <jsp:include> tag which does except runtime parameters.
    <%String test = request.getParameter("pageInfo");%>
    <%String link = test + ".jsp"; %>
    <jsp:include page="<%= link %>" %>Unfortunately you can't use the tag with a bean:write tag as well, you can only use runtime expressions, not tag. So you have to do the include with
    <jsp:include page="<%= HelloForm.getTarget() %>" />

  • How to use escape character in update statement.

    Hi All,
    I'm trying to update table using following sql update statement, but everytime it's asking me for the input due to the '&' value in below sql.
    UPDATE xyz_xyz
       SET NAME = 'ABC & PQR'
    WHERE ID = (SELECT ID
                   FROM abc_abc
                  WHERE NAME = 'C & PQR');Please let me know how to use escape character syntax or let me know if there is any alternative solution.
    Thanks,
    Vishwas

    Hi,
    By default, & marks a substitution variable name.
    If you're not using substitution variables in that statement (or, if this is in PL/SQL, in that entire package or procedure) then the easiest thing to do is just diable substitution variables; then & will be a normal character:
    SELECT  DEFINE  OFF
    UPDATE xyz_xyz
       SET NAME = 'ABC & PQR'
    WHERE ID = (SELECT ID
                   FROM abc_abc
                  WHERE NAME = 'C & PQR');
    SET  DEFINE  ONIf you can't do that, then & is always taken literally if it comes right before a single-quote, so you could say:
    UPDATE xyz_xyz
       SET NAME = 'ABC &' || ' PQR'
    WHERE ID = (SELECT ID
                   FROM abc_abc
                  WHERE NAME = 'C &' || ' PQR');There is a SQL*Plus "SET ESCAPE" command, too, but if you use it, you have to worry about whether the escape character is to be taken literally or not.
    SET   ESCAPE  \Yet another alternative is to make some other character, such as ~, mark the substitution variables:
    SET  DEFINE  ~Read all about them in the SQL*Plus manual.

  • Calling custom tags in jsp  with jsp:include

    Hi,
    I have a large jsp file , which uses jstl fmt tags for labels.
    Since the size of jsp was too big iand i was unable to compile it because of 64 kb class size limit,
    I removed the tag lib defination from the jsp file and put it in another jsp file. and used jsp:include to include this file inside the first jsp.
    It is compiling successfully but labels r not showing up.
    but when i use <%@include to include second jsp in the first one i get the labels properly.
    I cannot use <%@include as this starts giving me compilation error related with jsp class file size beyond 64 kb.
    Pls suggest why jsp:include is not working.
    thanks,

    Hi Anil,
    Ur suggestion was good but could not solve my problem.
    I have put a small sample code to illustrate the problem.

    <%-- <%@ include file="WDCComInitLabelsjunk.jsp" %> --%>
    <jsp:include page="WDCComInitLabelsjunk.jsp" flush="true" />

    %>

    <fmt:setLocale value="${language}" />
    <fmt:bundle basename="labels" />
    If i uncomment the <%@ include file="WDCComInitLabelsjunk.jsp" %> tag in the code above it is working fine ,
    but it is not working with <jsp:include page="WDCComInitLabelsjunk.jsp" flush="true" />
    pls suggest.

  • HOW can I call EJB with JSP?

    Hi, I'm working with JSP and want to include some EJB. I dont know how can I access EJB through JSP. I dont know if I use the right code in JSP for calling EJB. Did someone know how to use that? Can someone tell me if is the right code in JSP in my example?

    <%@ page import="mypackage1.MySessionEJB" %>
    <%@ page import="mypackage1.MySessionEJBHome" %>

    <EJB:useBean id="mySessionEJBBean" type="mypackage1.impl.MySessionEJBBean" local="false">
    <EJB:createBean instance="<%=mySessionEJBHome.create() %>" />
    </EJB:useBean>
    <%= mySessionEJBBean.calc() %>
    </body>
    </html>
    THIS IS THE EJB CODE:(MySessionEJBBean.java)
    package mypackage1.impl;
    import javax.ejb.SessionBean;
    import javax.ejb.SessionContext;
    import java.lang.String.*;
    public class MySessionEJBBean implements SessionBean
    public void ejbCreate(){}
    public void ejbActivate(){}
    public void ejbPassivate(){}
    public void ejbRemove(){}
    public void setSessionContext(SessionContext ctx){}
    public String calc(String value)
    return value + value;
    public String zanka(String x)
    return x;
    (MySessionEJB.java)
    package mypackage1;
    import javax.ejb.EJBObject;
    import java.rmi.RemoteException;
    public interface MySessionEJB extends EJBObject
    public String calc(String value) throws RemoteException;
    String zanka(String x) throws RemoteException;
    (MySessionEJBHome.java)
    package mypackage1;
    import javax.ejb.EJBHome;
    import java.rmi.RemoteException;
    import javax.ejb.CreateException;
    public interface MySessionEJBHome extends EJBHome
    public MySessionEJB create() throws RemoteException, CreateException;
    }

    You might want to look at using a Java Bean wrapper, this can be done automically using WebSphere. It creates what is called an access bean which the JSP imports.

  • How to register multiple xsd with relative include references?

    Hi there,
    unfortunately I'm a newbie to XDB and maybe this is a basic question. But I didn't get it solved right now (also Google wasn't my friend helping me out)...
    I try to register a set of xsd to XML DB (11g Release 2 11.2.0.1.0) with the given structure:
    Folder 'demo' contains:
    mainmodel.xsd
    types.xsd
    Subfolder 'demo/details' contains:
    submodel_a.xsd with <xs:include schemaLocation="../types.xsd"/>
    submodel_b.xsd with <xs:include schemaLocation="submodel_a.xsd"/>
    First I created the folders 'demo' and 'demo/details' in the XML DB repository using dbms_xdb.CreateFolder.
    Then I added the xsd as resources to the XML DB, e.g.
    declare
          v_result boolean;
          v_schema xmltype := xmltype(bfilename('DEMO', 'types.xsd'), nls_charset_id('ISO-8859-1'));
        begin
          v_result := dbms_xdb.CreateResource('/demo/types.xsd', v_schema);
        end;
    Then I registered my types.xsd:
    begin
    DBMS_XMLSCHEMA.REGISTERSCHEMA(
            schemaurl => 'types.xsd',
            schemadoc => BFILENAME ('DEMO','types.xsd'),
            csid => 0
            end;
    When trying to register submodel_a.xsd the same way I get the following error:
    ORA-31000: Ressource '../types.xsd' is not an XDB schema document.
    How can I resolve this?
    Best regards
    Matthias

    As Marco mentioned, you have to resolve and update the relative urls in a local copy of the schema, just before registration.
    That way you can keep the original file untouched while correctly register the schema using absolute urls.
    Here's a short example, assuming all XSDs have been loaded as resources in the repository, using the same folder structure :
    - This registers "types.xsd" at URL "/demo/types.xsd"
    begin
      dbms_xmlschema.registerSchema(
        schemaURL => '/demo/types.xsd'
      , schemaDoc => xdburitype('/demo/types.xsd')
      , local     => true
      , genTypes  => false
      , genTables => false
    end;
    - This gets a local copy of "submodel_a.xsd" located at "/demo/details/submodel_a.xsd" in the repository, resolves and updates the include location(s), then registers it :
    declare
      v_schema_url varchar2(2000) := '/demo/details/submodel_a.xsd';
      v_schema_doc xmltype := xdburitype(v_schema_url).getxml();
    begin
      for r in (
          select x.*
          from xmltable(
                 'for $i in fn:doc($url)/xs:schema/xs:include
                  return fn:resolve-uri($i/@schemaLocation, $url)'
                 passing v_schema_url as "url"
                 columns idx        for ordinality
                       , schema_loc varchar2(4000) path '.'
               ) x
      loop
        select updatexml(
                 v_schema_doc
               , '/xs:schema/xs:include[' || to_char(r.idx) || ']/@schemaLocation'
               , r.schema_loc
               , 'xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"'
        into v_schema_doc
        from dual;
      end loop;
      dbms_output.put_line(v_schema_doc.getclobval);
      dbms_xmlschema.registerSchema(
        schemaURL => v_schema_url
      , schemaDoc => v_schema_doc
      , local     => true
      , genTypes  => false
      , genTables => false
    end;
    (in this case the xs:include/@schemaLocation will be updated from '../types.xsd' to '/demo/types.xsd')

    i have exactly the same problem with KXml2, but using a j2me-polish netbeans project.
    i've tried to work around with similar ways like you, but none of them worked. now i've spent 3 days for solving this problem, i'm a bit disappointed :( what is wrong with setting the downloaded kxml2 jar path in libraries&resources?

  • How to replace the '&' character with '&' in xi

    Hi,
    i need to replace the '&' character with ' &amp;'.but i f i am converting it is displaying as '&' because internally '&amp;' = '&'.
    beacuse of this it is not converting.
    is there any possiblity to change the  standard conversion in xi.

    Graphical mapping does not support special character like & , <,> to be mapped.
    You can encode & as and in UTF-8 only.
    if you want the special character to be used, Opt XSLT mapping with ISO-8859-1 encoding

    The lines in bold are inside a switch case , the problem is generating when I am including two pages
    "/wo.charge.html" and
    "/history.equip.html"
    the output of "/wo.charge.html" is duplicating
    in place of "/history.equip.html"
    Somewhere I have read that there is a size limit for jsp service method of upto 64KB,
    the above code is in a jsp "/main.html" of size when compiled (.java) 42KB
    "/wo.charge.html" is of size 40KB
    Could this be leading to probem?
    Please clarify the above things
    Thanks

  • Please help; how to write XML document with JSP?

    I try to write XML document with JSP...
    But I got wrong results everytime.
    The result is not XML file displayed in the browser,
    but HTML file.
    I even tried to use HTML special code for <, >, "
    but still display as HTML file not XML file.
    How to do this?
    Thanks in advance. I put my codes below.
    Sincerely,
    Ted.
    ================
    Here is code for the JSP (called stk.jsp):
    <%@ page contentType="text/xml" %>
    <%@ page import="bean.Stock" %>
    <jsp:useBean id="portfolio" class="bean.Portfolio" />
    <% java.util.Iterator pfolio = portfolio.getPortfolio();
    Stock stock = null; %>
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <portfolio>
    <% while (pfolio.hasNext())
    stock = (Stock) pfolio.next(); %>
    <stock>
    <symbol>
    <%=stock.getSymbol() %>
    </symbol>
    <name><%=stock.getName() %> </name>
    <price><%=stock.getPrice() %> </price>
    </stock>
    <% } %>
    </portfolio>
    =================
    Here is the code for bean.Stock:
    package bean;
    public class Stock implements java.io.Serializable
    String symbol, name;
    float price;
    public Stock(String symbol, String name, float price)
    this.symbol = symbol;
    this.name = name;
    this.price = price;
    public String getSymbol()
    return symbol;
    public String getName()
    return name;
    public float getPrice()
    return price;
    ===============
    And here is bean.Portfolio:
    package bean;
    import java.util.Iterator;
    import java.util.Vector;
    public class Portfolio implements java.io.Serializable
    private Vector portfolio = new Vector();
    public Portfolio()
    portfolio.addElement(new Stock("SUNW", "Sun Microsystem", 34.5f));
    portfolio.addElement(new Stock("HWP", "Hewlett Packard", 15.15f));
    portfolio.addElement(new Stock("AMCC", "Applied Micro Circuit Corp.", 101.35f));
    public Iterator getPortfolio()
    return portfolio.iterator();
    }

  • Problem with jsp:include ..any ideas ?

    Hi,
    I have the following code in a recordfollowup.jsp,
    <jsp:include page="contacthistory.jsp" flush="true">
    <jsp:param name="packet" value="<%=somevalue%>"/>
    </jsp:include>
    I get this exception "recordfollowup.jsp(364,0) "Unterminated
    I tried using the end tag /> and then I was able to include the contacthistory.jsp but I need to get the additional param sent to the contacthistory.jsp so this will not do...
    please help me with suggestions/sample code .....
    thanks a lot !

    Sounds to me like the variable someValue contains a quote (").
    You could try putting it into the pageContext and getting it out in the included page. Or if that doesn't work, try the session.
    // using pageContext
    <%
    pageContext.setAttribute("someValue", someValue);
    %>
    <jsp:include page="contacthistory.jsp" flush="true"/>
    then in contacthistory.jsp
    <%
    String value = (String)pageContext.getAttribute("someValue");
    // swap 'pageContext' with 'session' to use the session
    %>

  • Capture output of Perl script with jsp:include

    The company's main web site has a CGI script written in Perl that generates a header, and another one that generates a footer. I would like to deploy a JSP that incorporates the header and footer without having to re-implement the header/footer Perl code in Java.
    Can the <jsp:include> tag include the output from these Perl scripts?

    Well, I tried it. The answer seems to be no.
    I created a simple CGI hello-world thingie and tested it, works fine from a browser (I'm doing all this remotely on a friend's Gentoo box so I know it's not just cached in my browser or anything).
    Then I created a simple JSP and used a fully-qualified URL pointing to the executable CGI script. While the JSP compiles and renders (I had some text in the JSP itself too), the part where it's supposed to include the content of the Perl script doesn't even appear.
    I also tried putting the CGI script into my webapp directory and specifying a relative path to the script, and it doesn't seem to get executed either. To confirm that I'm doing everything right, I put together a simple HTML file that has the same output and changed the "page" attribute to point to that file instead. Sure enough, the output appears.
    So the answer to my question appears to be: no, the output of a Perl CGI cannot be included into a JSP with the <jsp:include> tag. But I'm going to double-check on the Tomcat-user mailing list.

  • How to read *.txt files with JSP?

    I have to make a homepage that searches for information on a text file.
    My text file is described below.
    username=Hanako Sony
    cpname=Sony Corporation
    cpcode=500100
    So, if the user inputs "username", then "Hanako Sony" should be returned. If the user inputs "cpname", then "Sony Corporation" should be returned and so on.
    Can anyone help me with this? Can this be done with JSP?
    Thanks,
    Rob

    Try this,
    <%@ page import="java.io.*,java.util.*" %>
    <%
    RandomAccessFile raf = new RandomAccessFile("../webapps/test/jsp/Info.txt","r");
    String qInfo = request.getParameter("qInfo");
    String tInfo="";
    if(qInfo != null) {
         String line="";
         while((line = raf.readLine()) != null) {
              StringTokenizer st = new StringTokenizer(line,"=");
              if(st.hasMoreTokens()) {
                   if(st.nextToken().equalsIgnoreCase(qInfo))
                        tInfo = st.nextToken();
         if(tInfo.equals("")) tInfo="Property Not found ???";
    } else {
         qInfo="";
    %>
    <form name=myform action="" method="get">
    <table><tr>
    <td>What do you want : </td><td><input type = text name="qInfo" value="<%=qInfo%>"></td></tr>
    <tr><td>Here is the information : </td><td><input type = text name="tInfo" value="<%=tInfo%>"></td></tr>
    <tr><td><input type="submit" name"sub"></td></tr>
    </table>
    </form>Here info.txt is your text file. Use the relative path accordingly.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to generate the submenu with JSP??

    I want to show a submenu when the mouse pointer upon a specific link or area. can i do that with JSP?

    I agree with whizkeys, you cannot do that with javacode in a JSP, you will need to use javascript (unless you want to try it with an applet, but, then you would have other issues and it would be a pain in the balls).
