How to perform LOV auto completion

Hi,
I want to be able to leave the LOV text box empty and press tab to the LOV flashlight and the all the values corresponding to the LOV should appear automatically.
I have set Disable Validation --> False and Selective Search Criteria --> False.
So right now if i type in % in the textbox and press tab I am able to automatically get the list of values. But I want to accomplish this even without typing % in the textbox, i.e. leaving the text box blank.
Thanks

Even when you tab out of the LOV field from the base page, the LOV Window would pop-up. If you have the code that Ram, mentioned in the processRequest of your LOV Region's Controller, when the LOV Page opens up, the query will get executed and the results will appear....!
Hope this clarifies.

  • How do I add Auto Complete and how in the world do I get searches to open in a new page.

I just downloaded FireFox and need help with two things.
One how do I get auto complete in FireFox. The download has removed this feature in my Google toolbar.???
and two how do I get the searches set to open in a new window. I do not like tab browsing.
I went to tools and checked the box to open new windows in a new tab, but i don't see this happening. Maybe I am just assuming that this is the right setting to select.
I just want my searches to open in a new window, not in the same window or tab.
I have Firefox, Google, Bing and Norton search bars. I need all 4 in my business.
Before the download I was at least able to get Google, Bing and Norton to open in new windows but now they are not. Nothing from any of the search bars will open in a new window

Did you install the Google Toolbar for Firefox? It has its' own autofill setup, separate from the rudimentary "form fill" that Firefox has. It also has its' own Searchbar, with its' own settings..
If you are talking about having searches from the Firefox Search Bar open in a new Tab. ''There is no setting for opening a search in a new window.'' <br />
Type '''about:config''' in the URL bar and hit Enter. <br />
''If you see the warning, you can confirm that you want to access that page.'' <br />
Filter = '''browser.search.openintab''' = double-click that preference to toggle it to '''''true''''', then restart Firefox

  • LOV Auto complete with controller class

    Hi
    I have two LOVs
    i) Items Lov: Simple, no controller, VO and stright forward mappings. If I enter an item Description KB% and tabs on the column if there is only one record then the other mapped columns such as Segment1, Inv_item_id etc., are also filled up. This works perfect!
ii) Price List Lov: I have a controller set with this LOV to apply a filter criteria in VO. If I enter EM% in the price list description and press tab button and there is only one record I'm supposed to get other mapped columns such as Price List Id etc.,. But the Auto complete feature is not working so, I'm not getting other mapped values such as price list etc.,
Any body has any idea how to overcome this problem.
    Thanks in advance
    Prasad

Here is what our LOV expert has to say about this.
Open the LOV manually and try selecting a value and see if the results are returned properly. If it doesnot then there is something wrong with your metadata definition.
Your base page controller's processFormRequest will also be called when the values are returned from the LOV. Use pageContext.getLovResultValuesFromSession which will return a dictionary of what is returned from the LOV. Verify the dictionary by placing a breakpoint on this call in your processFormRequest.

  • How do I stop auto-complete of URl's?

When I type a URL I get at autcomplete of suggested URL's I have typed in the past and a drop down list of URL's I have typed in the past. How to I turn this off or at least clear it? I have already tried clearing my history and auto complete and I am still getting that.

    Ben Harris wrote:
There has got to be a way to erase that autofill information.
The only way I know how to clear it is not a good way. It would be *Reset Safari* which to me would be overkill. He would be better off not leaving any evidence to have to clear. Tell your friend to go to Safari in the menu bar. Now click *Private Browsing*. That will allow him to surf to his hearts content and nothing is saved to the autofill or other incriminating places:->
This is what it says when you get ready to activate it.
+When private browsing is turned on, webpages are not added to the history, items are automatically removed from the Downloads window, information isn't saved for AutoFill (including names and passwords), and searches are not added to the pop-up menu in the Google search box. Until you close the window, you can still click the Back and Forward buttons to return to webpages you have opened.+

  • How do I disable auto complete in the Mail program?

I have to type e-mail in more than one language on my iPod Touch, and Mail's auto complete feature is causing me a lot of trouble. It's making ridiculous word suggestions and typing these words if I don't touch a teeny-tiny X in the auto complete tag. The X is so small that often as not my finger ends up confirming the suggestion, rather than deleting it.
For example, if I have to type the German word "kann" (which I very often have to, because it means "can"), the Mail program types in the name of the Indian language "Kannada", which I NEVER need.
One solution would be to switch the language settings before typing e-mails, but that takes too much time, and the iPod Touch doesn't have support for some of the languages I have to type.
How can I just disable that auto complete feature? I don't see it in the manual.

    Settings -> General -> Keyboard -> Auto-Correction -> OFF.
But this is a global setting, not just for the Mail app.

  • How to reset the auto-complete email adresses?

How can I delete old email addresses from auto complete?
I have been having trouble trying to find out how to delete the old typed email history. For an example, if I go to send a picture to Bob, I start typing Bob and it comes up with 3 old emails of his. Not a big deal except it's hard to keep track of what emails are current.
In other words, after deleting the old emails in the contacts it still shows up when I start typing a person's name.

I am having the same problem on my IPad.  It appears these old email addresses are saved in the memory and from what I read, there is no way to delete them regardless if you delete the contact.  Hopefully in a future update that can be resolved.  It is very annoying though.

  • LOV auto-completion is not working (1)

When the user types in a partial value in the messageLovInput and tabs out, the value gets auto-completed if there is a unique match. If there is not unique match, then the LOV modal window opens up.
In some cases, you may see that typing in a partial value and tabbing out does not do anything, except for moving the focus on the base page. This can be because of the following reasons.
    1. You may have explicitly turned off auto-completion, by specifying the value of property "Disable Validation" to true.
    2. You may be using a browser that does not support PPR. Auto-completion relies on the PPR functionality, and it does not work in environments where PPR is not supported. For example, Netscape 4.75 does not support PPR. IE 6 and Mozilla 1.7 support PPR.

Try a reset and see if it fixes the problem. You will not lose any data.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • How do I enable auto completion for Java?

I'm used to using Eclipse with its most excellent auto completion (ctrl-space). I also like the macro capability (type "main" then ctlr-space to insert a main block of code). Is there a way to do this in XCode? How do I enable it?
    Thanks,
    Alfredo

    Hi Alfredo
This feature is available in the version 2.2 of Xcode for Tiger. You just turn it on in the Preferences setting.... however, I found it so annoying that I turned it off after a week or so! Perhaps you'll have better luck.

  • How do I enable auto-complete for gmail password? I have five accounts and it works for 3 of them but not the other 2.

I have five gmail accounts. Three of them have the auto-complete feature enabled for the password. The two most recent accounts do not auto-fill so I must type in my password every time. The auto-fill works fine on my laptop but not on my desk-top. My operating system is Windows XP.

You don't have to do anything with the first iPod that you don't use anymore. If you are planning on keeping it, put in a drawer in your house and forget about it.
You don't need a second account to use with the new iPod. I use one Appl e ID and iTunes library for two iPods, and two iPad. I have different content on all four devices. You can select exactly what you want to sync to each device and it can be different content on all devices.

  • How to turn off auto-complete in Keynote (tables) ?

Has anybody found a way to turn off (disable) auto-complete for cells in a table in Keynote ?
Occasionally I would prefer to work without the blinky yittery typing experience it creates.
It's not a live or death thing, but having an option to turn auto-complete off would make working with Keynote more pleasant.

    Stefan,
For reasons unknown to me and beyond my ability to guess, KN lacks control of that feature. You could build your table in either Pages or Numbers, where autocompletion can but disabled in the General Preference Pane, and paste it into KN.

  • How to disable Google auto-complete and instant search functions

Until the last week, I have been successfully using http://www.google.com/webhp?complete=0 to disable Google's insistence on forcing users' searches to use the infuriating auto-complete and Instant Search functions (the option to disable the former was removed by Google from Preferences while the latter doesn't retain the disabling in Preferences).
However, Google now seems to have beaten my first choice workaround.
Before I switch to one last possible workaround, I wondered if Firefox users knew of any others?
    Failures so far are: *http://www.google.com/webhp?complete=0 *www.google.co.uk/firefox *https://encrypted.google.com/

    You can use:
    * http://www.google.com/webhp?complete=0
    * https://www.google.com/webhp?complete=0
Those two do not show suggestions, but also do not have autocomplete=off in case you are remembering form data
*Tools > Options > Privacy > History: "Remember search and form history"

  • How can I delete auto-complete entries in Mail on iPhone?

I've done some searching and I think the answer to my question, at least for now, is "you can't!".  But I'm still open to suggestions.  iOS 5.0.1, if it matters (I need to update my signature).
I was just telling my wife (who is having this issue on her iPhone 4s - with MY work address) that with Apple devices it's either very easy or you can't do it.  I'm afraid this falls into the latter category.  I have just filled out the feedback form.

No. Auto-complete is completely automatic and uses any entry you have made previously in that column.
You can turn it on or off, but the only editing that, to my knowledge, can be done is to:
delete any items entered in the column in error.
select and copy the 'good' items (and the empty cells in the range).
select one or more cells in the column, then go Table (menu) > Delete Column
press option-left arrow to insert a new column in place of the one deleted.
click on the cell where the first item in the list was copied from.
    paste
enter the missing items, then continue from the last entered value.
(The auto-completion list will now contain only those values you pasted, plus new values you have since entered in the column.)

  • How to avoid deprecated Auto Completion

    Hi!
Jdeveloper's "Auto Completion" is a really important function. But is there a possibility to get just the valid API methods/members displayed, i.e. deprecated methods should not be displayed in the auto completion list.
This would be very usefull especially in coding versus AWT/Swing components, as Component has a lot of deprecated (from 1.0 to 1.1) methods.
    null

I don't believe this is currently possible, but it seems like a good idea. I've logged it as a suggested enhancement for the next release of JDeveloper.

  • How do I adjust auto-complete order in the address bar?

I recently upgraded from Firefox 3 to 8.
In Firefox 3, when I selected an address out of the autocomplete list very often, it would eventually rise to the top of the list, so I could just enter a single character and hit enter.
In Firefox 8, that no longer works. An address that I only used a single time remains on top, in favor of a site I visit daily.
How do I revert to Firefox 3 behaviour?

None of the above really helped, and I had read part of it previously.
With 12 years of software engineering experience in complex user interfaces, it "smells" like a bug to me, because of the peculiar first result I get.
To explain that, let me give to all the data:
    1) I regularly visit www.orf.at, an Austrian news site.
    2) I sometimes visit fahrplan.oebb.at, which shows timetables of the Austrian railway trains.
When I start typing "www.o", I expect to get 1), because
    a) the textual match is better
    b) I visit the site more often, and I have visited it more recently
Instead, 2) is on top of the list.
Therefore, I suspect that the new algorithm does not cope well when comparing addresses that start with "www" as to those that don't.
What makes the "smell" strong is the fact that I can't seem to "teach" the browser the "correct" order of the list, however often I manually select the desired entry. This is something that worked flawlessly in Firefox 3.

  • Anyone know how to copy an auto-complete dropdown list?

I'm on a website where a dropdown list exists for items I've typed in the past. I want to keep the list in a text file but I have no way of copying it. Anyone know how to copy such a list?

You can also use the SQLite Manager extension to create a CSV list of names.
    * SQLite Manager: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/sqlite-manager/
    # Open Profile Directory -> formhistory.sqlite -> Go
    # Open Tables > moz_formhistory
    # Hit the Execute SQL tab
    # Use a Select like this: (moz_formhistory.firstUsed and moz_formhistory.lastUsed are available)
    <pre><nowiki>SELECT moz_formhistory.id,datetime(moz_formhistory.firstUsed/1000000,'unixepoch'),fieldname,value
    FROM moz_formhistory
    WHERE moz_formhistory.id</nowiki></pre>
    * Click Run SQL to generate a results list
    * Click the Action button to Save the results to a CSV file
