This is how to plan your study:
(1) Fire up Visio (sorry to mention an M$ product)
(2) Open the appropriate template
(3) Place assorted desks, chairs, printers, fax machines etc. on the drawing
(4) Move them about a bit until you're happy with the feng shui
(5) Add some nice pot-plants, repeat step (4)
(6) Realise you've blocked the fire exit with a cabinet, remove it, repeat step (4)
(7) Print and submit to handy person for quote
(8) Recover from dead-faint after recieving quote
(9) Go back to using your old wobbly flat-pack desk

  • Books on how to plan your code?

    Hello,
    I'm currently starting to get into programing, and so far I have only made small apps. I have some experience in Javascript and PHP, and just finished the "Big Nerd Ranch Objective-C" book. There is one thing I have found myself lacking of, the skill to plan my applications.
    Bascily, my question is, does anyone have a book that teaches you the basics of how to plan an application? Thinking with the focus on Objective-C, with for example UML for objects and so on. I am looking for a book that goes from when you get the idea, to the phase where you start coding.
    All answers will be greatly appriciated

    I probably shouldn't respond, seeing that I haven't launched any applications. But I did spend a considerable amount of time grappling with the same question and reached a satisfying conclusion.
    The way xCode works to my mind is that there is such a gap between the available code and an application to allow for maximum control over the design process, while requiring significant tailoring and grouping for use in the application. The result is that it takes a significant amount of work to get from the available classes to your application classes or code.
    There is, therefore, a space for the developer that is best filled with the design of a suite of applications, having the same 'parts' built by the developer according to their own designs and functional patterns. Should the need arise for more finely tuning particular parts for any one of the applications within the developer's suite, it can easily be done.
    I am approaching the same problem at the current time, and starting first with the data model for a particular suite, then assigning the broadest possible kinds of applications that could use the data model. Then spending considerable time and research on designing the interface reusable parts for the entire suite. Then the reusable parts for the controllers. Each part will then be attached like legos for each application.
    I plan on using configurations of the data model to help coordinate the installation of the proprietary 'parts'. It is those 'parts', rather than the application, that represents the primary capital.
    It's no wonder that Lego is leading the world in the broad application of this principle. They use the same programmable 'parts' for games, cartoons, advertisements, packaging, and even manufacturing.
    This is the natural course, seeing that it stems also from the nature of the 'objective C' which also stems from the nature of the transistor switch. But seeing one's self, or a team, and realizing that every individual or group has a place to formulate their own 'parts' for their own product designs...that requires the imagination, creativity, and courage.

  • "CLOSED":How to plan inventory from multiple orgs simultaneously using MRP?

    Hello everybody,
    How to plan inventory from multiple organizations simultaneously using SCP?
    My customer found that in supply chain planning (MRP) system always plans in single manufacturing organization, say, ATC, firstly. If set in organization item master, the source type as 'Inventory' and the source organization as another trading organization name, say, ANX. if there is insufficient inventory in ATC, SCP-MRP would plan in ANX, disregard of the inventory exist in ANX for the item.
    But for some items, there are both inventory in ATC and ANX and we want plan BOTH their inventory simultaneously instad of firstly ATC and then ANX.
    Is there any standard function in Oracle that can do so? I found that the sourcing rule cannot help in this case.
    A simple test case is described in
    https://gtcr.oracle.com/gtcr-dir/gtcr_4607/5580425.992/Alternative_to_plan_multi-org_MRP.doc

    Catalina,
    Net the inventory simultaneously? Its not quite clear what your client wants.
    Even in the old SCP, you can use sourcing rules to first net inventory in org1 and then net the inventory in org 2 via a transfer from rule. The key point is it is always incremental based on where you place teh demand and then you provide source to fill that demand.
    One restriction that ASCP still has up to 11.5.10 is that you can only have sourcing rules going in one direction. This means that you can't have a rule that sources ORG1 from ORG2 for item A, then have the revers in ORG2 sourcing from ORG1. That won't work, ASCP will randomly ignore one of the rules.
    The best choice may be to use GOP with a sourcing split % so that yo do consider the inventory in both orgs when demanding the order, but it would still be done by checking ORG1 then ORG2.
    Hope this helps.

  • HELP! how to plan small/mid business

    Hello,
    I have the basic configuration is already done (staticly)
    From the Wireless controller system (WCS) I can see the controller and the lwapp.
    we are thinking to add more APs in diffrenet places and control each device.
    anyways, now after the basic configuration what should I do ?
    add more aps? or upload the map or the security?
    Can you please give me an advice how to plan a small/ mid business building with 3 floors
    br
    Yamani

    I don't know how far you have gotten, but once you get the WLC and AP's up, test and make sure it meets your requirements.  You don't need WCS right now.  Do all the SSID, security stuff and then test again.  When you have that working, then you can move on.  Once you have a stable environment, then go ahead and add AP's and make sure again that you have signal where you require signal and that everything works.  After that, then go ahead and add the floor plan to WCS and AP's to the map.  WCS is for management and doesn't need to be up in order for your wireless to work.  Hope this helps.

    Can explain me elaborate about this.

    Hi Harsh,
    Remember that the tree table is a Master-Detail relationship between VO. So in your case, you are applying a VO Criteria to your Master, wich will allow you to filter data a Master Level. If you want to filter the Child VO, you need to create a ViewCriteria for it and apply it in your AM -> YourMaster -> YourChild VO :: Edit -> Shuttle the VC to the right.
    But following this approach the Filter you use in the ChildVO, will be applied to all Childs independently of the MasterVO.
    Hope it is clearer now, but let me know if you need more help or if you think I didn't understand your main issue.

  • How PurRqs Planned dates in MD04 is calculated compared to PurRqs in APO

    Dear Experts,
    Just want to ask how PurRqs Planned dates in MD04 is calculated compared to Availability /Reqmnts Date in RRP3 in APO.
    Below are the examples:
    In APO RRP3 we have (PurRqs A) = Start date 6/21/2011, Avail / Reqmts Date 7/01/2011
    In R/3 MD04 we have the same (PurRqs A) -> Planned dates = 7/02/2011, Delivery date = 6/22/2011, Release date = 6/21/2011, GR pr time = 9
    In APO RRP3 we have (PurRqs B) = Start date 7/22/2011, Avail / Reqmts Date 8/01/2011
    In R/3 MD04 we have the same (PurRqs B)= Planned dates = 8/03/2011, Delivery date = 7/23/2011, Release date = 7/22/2011, GR pr time = 9
    Thanks in advance,

  • How Distinguish planning data and Actual data in a Planning cube

    Hi,
    I want to dispaly planning data & actaul data in a query how can i do it?
    in my query it is showing all the requests it is not distinguishing.

    Well use infoobject 0VTYPE for actual and plan differentiation
    and 0VERSION to categorise which version of Plan data it is,typically you might have different planning versions .
    Example
    0VTYPE = 10 actual
    0VTYPE = 20  plan
    0VERSION = 001
    0VERSION = 002
    0VERSION = 003
    Business decides which 0version value to be taken as final planning version once freezed.0VTYPE = 10 for actuals is always one ,it do not have 0VERSION to be taken in to account.
    Hope it Helps

  • J2ME - Pocket PC: neded advices on how to plan the application

    Hi,
    I plan to port to the Pocket PC platform an e-commerce application I developed using JSP/Servlet with BC4J (some pages use direcltly JDBC).
    My actual web application has those architecture and features:
    - the database is Oracle 8.1.6;
    - the output of the application is HTML (no use of Applets), with some JavaScript and css StyleSheets;
    - the application has the standard features of an online-shop, such as shopping cart management, product search;
    - the application gives to the customer other informations, such as order-tracking, sending of news documents to the customers, ecc...
    My PDA application should have this features:
    - on-line and off-line work (connected to the Internet or to a local replica of the database);
    - Only the shopping features are requested.
    I have some doubts on the best strategy to follow to develop such an application:
    - Which database to use (Oracle lite or XML files or ???) to store the data on the PDA?
    - How to manage the data replication?
    - For the on-line work, I think that the user can connect to the standard Web Application (or to an optimized version for little screens). What is your opinion?
    - For the off-line work, I am not sure which GUI to use for the client (HTML or Swing)? I read on this forum about problems with css with Pocket IE; have I to avoid the use of css stylesheets?
    - If I write my application using BC4J, how big will be all the application in Mb (jars, application server, etc...)?
    - Which software do I need for the development and for the deployment (I am now downloading the J2ME Extension and Viewlets)?
    - Other issues I have to care about?
    All help and/or samples and/or useful links/readings are welcome.
    Thanks,
    Marco.

    Marco,
    Considering the processing capabilities of a Pocket PC, I wouldn't go for J2ME, with is mostly dedicated to the cell phones. The PDAP (PDA Profile) for J2ME is not available yet, and your UI would look pretty poor on a Pocket PC as the only available profile so far is the MIDP (Mobile Information Device Profile).
    The other solutions you suggest sound much better, like Oracle Lite. OLite has native synchnronization capabilities with Oracle Enterprise Edition, and that would address your replication needs. Plus it provides a connected/disconnect feature for HTTP/Servlet/HTML that makes the user work transparent. I do beleive that this is avalaible for the Pocket PC as well.
    You should serach OTN this way for white papers, demos and sample code.
    Please let us know if you need more information,
    Olivier

  • How to plan Failover for the following Scenarios in Flex-connect mode.

    The following queries are in respect to AP High availability (not SSO fail over or Controller HA), meaning if one controller fails, the AP will be failing over to the secondary controller which is in a different Geo location. the AP will be in Flex-connect mode with local switching and local auth. in this scenario, following are my queries
    1: If i have an SSID that has an interface group linked to it, can i fail it over on other controller where there may be a single WLAN linked to it.?
    2:Do we need the subnet masks to be same at both ends?
    3: if i have an SSID with open authentication, can i configure the remote network SSID with no authentication?
    4: can any one link me up with a document that explains configuration case study of the flex-connect mode fail over scenarios.
    All the help given would be really appreciated.
    Thanks.

    hi Scott,
    Sorry for replyimg late. and thanks for your reply and suggestion.
    it did help me a lot, but now i am in a tiff.
    the thing is my client has following existing scenario:
    he has 6 disparate locations with a standalone 5508 WLC at each location.
    he is now planning to configure AP failover for every location.
    we are using the Flex-connect design as he has not procured a HA-SSO license.
    also the WLC are not in same location.
    the Flex-connect design is with Local Switching and local Auth.
    there are 2 SSID which are causing me issues.
    1: SSID A is linked to an interface group which has multiple vlans.
    2: SSID B shares its WLAN interface with another SSID (the wlan is split between 2 different SSID)
    we need local switching for these and also they need to have local auth.
    so if i remove the interface group for SSID A and use a bigger subnet, what will be the best possible mask to use considering that the ARP and DHCP broadcast shouldn't choke up the network (existing subnets are /21 and /22). or any workaround to minimise the network activity.
    and for SSID b what is the configuration i would need to do on the secondary controller or is it just that the SSID needs to be present on the controller and the mask need not be same.
    sorry for troubling you and thanks in advance
    Niiketan Sutar.
