How to populate a dropdown on screen painter

Hello All:
I am new to dialog programming and trying to fix a code written by someone else. There is a drop down on screen that is populated with four values and I have to remove 2 of those values. I know how to do this in type1 program but I could not figure out how it is done on dynpro. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

Method 1
a) Create a subscreen area in your screen layout where you want to create the select options.
b) In the top include of your module pool program declare a selection screen as a subscreen e.g.
       SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF SCREEN 100 AS SUBSCREEN.
             select-options s_matnr for mara-matnr.
       SELECTION-SCREEN END OF SCREEN.
c) In the PBO and PAI of the main screen where the select options needs to be created do a call subscreen of the above screen (100).
       CALL SUBCREEN sub_area INCLUDING
This call subscreen statement is necessary for transport of values between screen and program.
Note: All validations of the selection screen fields e.g. the s_matnr field created above should be done in selection screen events like AT SELECTION-SCREEN etc and not in PAI. These selection screen validations etc should be done in the top include only.
Method 2
a) Create 2 separate fields in your screen layout - one for the low value and one for the high value. Insert an icon beside the high value which will call the multiple selections popup screen on user command. Use function module COMPLEX_SELECTIONS_DIALOG to achieve this.

         Read the very first entry of the range table and pass it to
         dynpro screen field
           READ TABLE rng_kunnr INDEX 1.
           IF sy-subrc = 0.
              g_cust = rng_kunnr-low.
           ENDIF.
You can use the return table rng_kunnr to populate your own internal range table with the values entered by the user. Basically here you are just simulating the work of a select-options parameter by module pool screen elements
You can go with it also ....

Hope u have reached Screen painter interface,
1. Click 'Add Grid' from tool bar.
2. Go to 'Collections' tab in 'Properties' window.
3. Choose 'Data Tables' from the Drop down list.
4. Click 'New' found at the bottom of the Properties Window(same window)
5. U'll find the place to insert ur query.
6. U can rename the table name from 'DT_0'
7. Choose type as 'Query'
8. Clear content from box 'Query'
9. Enter ur query there. Dont forget to Click 'SET'
10. Go to Preview option from tool bar.
now ur query will be displayed as table format.
Note: First try with simple query b4 going for linking option.

Bind "enable" properties of Both DD1 and DD2 to
context attributes of type boolean. DD1Enable,DD2Enable
1: set their value to false intially

Bind the selected property of the table to a
Context attribute of type boolean(Initially false), say "selected"
2: Then use check box in the table to get current lead selection

How to Populate the Dropdown from the xml file ?

According to my requirement, Drop down has to be populated in a form, on selecting an element in the first drop down list, corresponding second drop down values has to be loaded dynamically.
I am using the ReferenceData file, which consists of the Dropdown list values in the form of Key,Value pair. I can able to populate one drop down,but I don't know how to populate the second dropdown dynamically.
can any one please help me to finish this task.

Follow below steps
Step 1 - Create basic wdp table
Step 2 - Create context to store dropdown values Within your web dynpro application table
Now you need to create a context node to store the dropdown values, but this needs to be within the context node of your table.
For this example I will use fields CARRID and CARRNAME from structure SCARR to create the dropdown list within the table context.
Choose the attributes to represent the id and the text values
The finished context should now look like this
Step 3 - Update context mapping within VIEW
Within the Context tab of your view update the context node you have just modified (CARRIERS) right click and select 'Update Mapping'. Alternatively if this is a new context drag it from the right hand window and drop it onto the context node in the left window,
Step 4 - Update table field
Within the layout tab of the view, field the table field you want to replace with with a dropdown and remove the UI element associated with it
Now insert new dropdownbyindex UI cell element
Step 5 - Assign Dropdown Ui element to Context
Click on your UI element within the Layout tab, you will now see all the properties for this element which can be changed. You now need to assign the field within the context which you want to be displayed in the drop down i.e. it will be the CARRNAME field within context element DROPDOWN_CARR. To do this simply click on the button at the end of the 'texts' property (the one with a yellow square and circle on it) and select the correct context field.
Step 6 - ABAP code to populate dropdown list and set correct initial value
Insert the following ABAP code into the appropriate place. For this example it will go within the WDDOMODIFYVIEW method of the view.

How to Populate a Dropdown field for a table control with different keys

I have Table control with abt eight columns (fields). Out of these eight field one field is with dropdown list. In table control Project ID is Primary key column. Depending upon this Project ID value, i have different values which is to be populated in dropdown boxes. In table control if there is only one project ID value say 'P000715' i can populate it but when i have more than one project ID (P000715, p000716, P000717.....) in display in rows of table control i want to have different values in my dropdown field corresponding to that row of project id. Experts please tell me how to achieve this functionality.

The only way you may be able to do this is using
MODULE PROCESS ON VALUE-REQUEST. User-programmer F4 help
in your PAI routine.
In this routine you would build the list and get the returned value to update the field.
Something like this.

How to populate listbox on a screen and get the selected record.

I have place a edit box and converted to listbox .
It should diplay T001-Bukrs values.
When the user selects a value I should get the selected value ...
How can I do that?
The screen is a '0100'. not the normal 1000 selection screen.

How to populate a dropdown box based on a selection in another Dropdown box.

I am trying to find out a way to do the following:
I am using coldfusion ....working on a form. The form has
couple of dropdown boxes. Based on the selection on the first
dropdown box another dropdown box needs to get populated with
different options. These options will be coming from a query. I am
trying to find out the Javascript code for doing this.

There's a method to doing what you're wanting to do that I've
used extensively.
Basically, within my code, I start by invoking the method
that returns the data for the dropdown lists. Then, I use the
following code to pour the data returned into a javascript array:

Then I wrote a javascript function that is assigned to the
first dropdown's onChange() event. When the user changes the value
that is selected within the dropdown, I use javascript to locate
(using the policyid) the corresponding record in the javascript
array and populate and/or select the appropriate value(s) in the
second dropdown.
If the data returned from the method invocation is too large
to use within a javascript array, you may need to limit the results
that are returned.

I have a WD application Java with an Interactive Form. In the WD context I have a value node of cardinality 0..n. In the Interactive Form I need to have the values of this node within a dropdown list. Which type of DDL is best choice and how do I manage to get the node values into the list.
We are working on NW2004 with Designer 7.08.

Here dispalyAs tab having cq:widget of xtype selection in which values are populating through displayoptions.json.jsp which is referenced by options property set on displayAs tab.

How to populate a dropdown based on the selection from a previous dropdown?

I am currently trying to build a spreadsheet with three different dropdown menus to choose from. Based on what is selected from the first drop down though affects what choices are displayed for the next dropdowns. Is this possible in Numbers? Or should I look for other alternatives for what I'm trying to do.

Dynamic dropdown (pop-up) menus is not possible in Numbers directly. If you use scripts you may be able to cobble something together.
If you REALLY want pop up menus then place ALL the choices in a single pop up grouped together

First, can you give me the SAP system you working on .
The following solution works fine with ECC6 but not in ECC5 .
When you define your dropdown field , you can define list value directly or by a dynamic link . Click on the dynamic link text and then you can define the field value coming from your context.
I'll do it for a dropdownlist where i display a list of WBS Code.
