How to present data horizontally

Hi,
I want to present data horizontally like the file system using ADF 11g. is there any componets in ADF 11g that can be used to do that ? any suggestitons?

Jayson,
Are you trying to show some navigation map (how you got to this page etc)?
If you are, then try using the af:breadcrumbs component.
Other than that, if you wand to show some table data horizontally, then you will have to manually iterate thru the iterator and lay out the contents. I am not aware of any component that lays out table that horizontally. Then again, I am no expert on ADF, so take my advice witha a grain of salt.

How to present results from a sql-query in java

Hi - I'm having problems finding out how to present data from a database-query in a nice looking way in a JFrame. Want to present them similar to the way they are presented in the database. Is there an easy way doing this?

Tried to use a JTable, but it's difficult when data in the table should be able to change all the time, i.e the number of rows. What is a Html-table? Can i use it in an application?

How to process data in the past based from data in the present

hello guys,
i have a problem in my labview programs. how to process data in the past based from data in the present ?
i have a formula self-organizing maps
this formula is looking for D1, D1 is neuron index that will be searched for the smallest value.and the result are D1=2 ,D2=5, D3=17 from calculating with formula .it means the smallest value is 2, "2" from weight [2 2] in file attached.
and then it will be in other formula
it mean [2 2] + 0.5 ( [1 1]-[2 2] ) = [1.5 1.5]
and the weight will be [1.5 2 2 ] in matrix
1.5 3 5
I would appreciate any input/help on solving this

Moving your records from internal table into the database table depends upon various scenarios :-
1. If you use INSERT statement.
INSERT <database_table> FROM TABLE <internal_table>.
But in this case, you need to make sure that you don't have any duplicate entries in your internal table that violates data entry into database table, else you will get a dump.
INSERT <database_table> FROM TABLE <internal_table> ACCEPTING DUPLICATE KEYS.
In this case, you are forcefully inserting duplicate records into your database table which may lead to data redundancy in your database table.
2. If you use UPDATE statement.
UPDATE <database_table> FROM TABLE <internal_table>.
This will update the existing records in your database table from the internal table.
3. If you use MODIFY statement.
MODIFY <database_table> FROM TABLE <internal_table>.
This statement works both in combination of INSERT & UPDATE statements.
Existing records (in database table) will be eventually updated/modified and new records (not in database table currently) will be successfully inserted into the database table.

Where that folder is located, its on presentation server i.e. desktop or application server.
If its on presentation server, use FM GUI_UPLOAD.
If its on application server, then use DATASET functions. Have a look at below link.

Actually, some formats do indeed have creation or modification dates built in. e.g. http://www.w3.org/TR/PNG-Chunks.html#C.tIME. (Of course since most programs save a new copy of the file every time, the two dates are the same.) However, just because formats have this data doesn't mean it's reliable or even present. Your best bet is to pass creation dates in an Applet param tag for applets (assuming you were referring to Applet.getImage()) or to parse out a filename from a classloader URL and use a File object to check (assuming you were instead referring to Toolkit.getImage(URL)). That's the best answer I have without knowing more about what you are trying to accomplish.

How to Update Date data type field value in oracle

I want to update records in a table that has a Date data type field. It's a oracle databse. I use the oracle thin drive to connect to the database. The everything works well, only when i try to update records that have date type value, something doesn't work.
I use the following stmt to update DB:

BTW, sqlDate is a Java.sql.Date variable, Is it "# " + sqlDate + "# " the right way?

What do you get out of Oracle's TO_DATE that java.sql.PreparedStatement.setDate()
won't give you? - MODWell, I don't know that I've used all capabilities of either, but when it comes to managing Date Strings my Oracle bias :) would be to code using Oracle's TO_CHAR and TO_DATE functions. Perhaps someone can tell me vendor neutral ways to do something simiilar to managing these input date/times (and hopefully just as easily, pretty much all done in a single line, single function)?

I believe most databases have something similar to this, although I have found Oracle's to be the most flexible and consistent, if not the most intuitive. Other vendors (DB2, SQL Server, Access) don't force you to always be explicit, and can accept a variety of date strings without masks. The problem is that while you might not be getting an error, it also may not be parsing your date as expected.
One could argue that this vendor specific hodgepodge of literal date/time strings is only one program modification away from disaster. They might be right.
Just to be clear. I'm not recommending using a vendor specific approach, but it's not a perfect world and somtimes you have to use what works easiest or best or fastest, and in some cases, that is the vendor specific alternatives.

I have a PDF form with blank ID field. When user click Submit button on the form, an ID will be generated from database on the server side. How do I merge this ID with client's original PDF from so he knows his ID number? Any help thanks.

When the user submits the form, he or she is redirected to the web page that you put in the submit URL. The form doesn't generally stick around. A typical response would be to return an HTML page that confirms receipt and gives a reference number. If you want to merge data with the PDF and present that back to the user, it's possible, but not very easy. If you decide that you'd like to go down that path, you can start by searching this forum on "vnd". You'll find a long thread with 30+ messages that show how to merge data with a PDF using various types of CGI scripts.

Telling us that you are using 11.1 helps. But it is far from a complete description of the environment. What edition of the database are you using? What options are installed? What Enterprise Manager packs are licensed? Is any of this changable? Could you license another option for the database or another pack for Enterprise Manager if that was necessary?
What does it mean to you to "mask data"? Do you want to store the data on disk and then mask the data in the presentation layer when certain people query it (i.e. store the patient's social security number in the database but only present ***-**- and the last 4 digits to certain sets of employees)? Do you want to hide entire fields from certain people? Do you want to change the data stored in the database when you are refreshing a lower environment with production data? If so, do you need and/or want this process to be either determinisitic or reversable or both?

I have got the reports ready for presenting to all FI Managers, but i'm in dilemma in presenting the reports to FI Managers, the reports are getting excuted in the browser.
Can anybody tell me how to present the reports to Fi Mangers?

Concentrate on the process of delivering data and how it works within the process and do not talk technical
eg. useing this reprot you can analayse the P&L like this
Highlighting this and drilling down will give us the ability to see data for this division
notice the trend - we migth want to concentrate ont his sales group as the varianace is too hhigh
By drillign down we can find the problem etc...blah..
Also give them a report catalogue with business descriptions (like a pragraph) of the report
