How to print alternative colors in detail records in BI publisher?

i have child or detail records. But i want to print them first record in red color,then second record in green color. Again third record color again in red color and fourth record again in green color.

Have two form fields after the grouping form field and use the following code in the first conditional form field:

Include this in the second conditional format field.

Master - Detail -- How to Hide page if no detail records

I'm hoping to be able to hide a page if no detail records exist for the master query.
My master query:
"Company" and "account" and balances for each account
(balances carry forward from previous months)
Detail Query:
transactions for each account for a month
-- Linked to the master by "account-id"
The master query is grouped into 2 parts:
a) Company
b) account and balance
Sometimes an account won't have any transactions during the month (especially if the report is run at the beginning of the month)
If I create a "summary" count field in the "account" group based on the transactions, then I can hide (not print) the "account" frame.
But I can't figure out how to do this for the "company" frame.
I'm probably missing something simple (or maybe not)
Any suggestions?

So basically you are showing each account on a separate page?
Move the objects shown in Company repeating frame to the account repeating frame. In this case company repeating frame will be blank. And your already created format trigger to hide account frame will work for both (company+account). So whenever any account is zero, it will hide all objects within the frame. Parent frame doesn’t contain any objects, it would not show the parent frame for that account. Make sure vertically elasticity of the frame is variable.

Alternating Color Subreport details

I've created a subreport with detail lines that can be suppressed if the value of my database field is zero. So on some reports I could have 7 lines.. and some I could have three (for example) depending on the data. I have to make this table an alternating color table. So if the first line has a white background, the next line needs to have a silver background.. if the line before a line has a silver background.. that line needs to have a while background.
Example of report with 5 detail lines showing:
White
Silver
White
Silver
White
Example with 8 detail lines showing:
White
Silver
White
Silver
White
Silver
White
Silver
There are only 10 detail lines available and the first one is always white. I've been trying to write a formula in the background color properties in my section expert for each detail line that would do this for me.. I was going for something like:
If previous value is crWhite then
formula = crSilver
else
formula = crWhite
end if
I know this is wrong because I can't find a function that will do it for me. Does anyone know a simple way to do this?

Is this in a detail format or group header/footer? Is the format conditionally suppressed? These will change the formula. If it's in a group header/footer, use (basic syntax):
global toggleColor as number
toggleColor = 1 - toggleColor
if toggleColor = 0 then
formula = crSilver
else
formula = crWhite
end if
If records are conditionally suppressed, use the formula above, but add an IF statement around the toggleColor = toggleColor - 1 line with the condition "NOT (whatever your suppression formula is)".

When dealing with printing ink, R=100m+100y+0c+0k. What drives the color toward rust, maroon, and brown is the addition of c to the mix. That may be the result of the diffuse reflection of the uncoated paper surface, its absorb rate, the ink chemistry and – the light source. Since the easiest variable to test is the light source, look at that color using a source weak in blue emission, incandescent light, and watch the red shift. Remember also that the reflected color will never be as bright as paper it is printed on. Each ink film is a filter subtracting light from the paper reflection.

I have a project that I need to print out, and I recently just got a MacBook Pro, so I'm not 100% acquainted to Pages. SO PLEASE HELP!!!!

Any application can print in color, which is the default, if a color-capable printer is configured and accessible by the Mac. It is no different than printing in B/W.
Just make sure the printer is set up correctly so the Mac knows what it can do and how to drive it. If you want more help in the set up department, you'll have to provide more info as to what printer(s) you have.

Hi,
It is possible to print in black only, it is impossible however to print with color inks only as the black color is also the base for for color printing.
Ensure the Black ink is empty indeed by checking the Estimated ink levels on the printer screen.
If it is empty you will need to replace the depleted cartridge to resume printing.

Alternating Background color for Detail Records

I have found other posts concerning thing similar to this but not quite the same. I have an 8.5 report that needs to have everyother record in the detail section to be a different color. The problem is that it is counting all the records not the ones that are filtered out and displayed in the details section. I have played around with the "If RecordNumber Mod 2 = 0 Then crSilver Else crNoColor" formula but it doesn't work right. I am thinking that my formula needs to be applied last but how do I accomplish that? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks,Jerry

What I mean, excuse my newbiness, is the formula is in the formatting of the detail section which is being applied on the first pass. The bottom of the report shows the record count on the first pass and the report is showing about half as many. Does that make sense? So my question is, how do I use your suggestion? I am somewhat of an inexperienced user and need all the help someone can offer.

You can't have multiple text attributes in a JTextArea.
JTextArea manages a "text/plain" content type document that can't hold information about attributes ( color, font, size, etc.) for different portions of text.
You need a component that can manage styled documents. The most basic component that can do this is JEditorPane. It can manage the following content types :
"text/rtf" ==> via StyledDocument
"text/html" ==> via HTMLDocument
I've written for you an example of how a "Hello World" string could be colorized in a JEditorPane with "Hello" in red and "World" in blue.

Does anyone know how to print from color to black on Acrobat x pro

The version doesnt seem to have the print in black option
it does have print in grayscale but it doesnt do anything to my doc.

Run a Preflight profile to convert the color PDF to a B/W version:
Open the Print Production panel (you'll need to go to the top right corner of the Tools, and from the Options menu turn on Print Production). Click on the Preflight tool. Choose the Select Single Fixups button at the top of the tool. Select Convert Color to B/W.

How to print pantone colors

I have a CS3 with a 10.5.8 operating system, and would like to print a file I made with Pantone swatches.
My printer is a Canon Pixma iP 4000.
I tried using photoshop manages colors in color handling, with cmyk-US web coated in printer profile, with relative colorimetric in the rendering intent.
Black point compensation?
Please advise which settings I should use to get the pantone colors correctly under color handling

You can certainly do it through the Swatches panel. The method I suggested is the one I mostly use - force of habit, you know.
"True" Pantone colors are produced by mixing a specific formula of inks produced by the Pantone corp. For example, the swatch Marian showed (Pantone 1535 U)is 16 parts Pantone Orange 021, and 2 parts Pantone Black, printed on uncoated paper. You go to the Channels panel menu, and select "New Spot Channel". Click on the color, and specify it as I said.
Then, when you print on a commercial offset printing press, there will be a seperate printing plate for that color. The press operator mixes up a batch of the specified ink formula, and use that for the spot color plate.

if you print locally via SAPGUI, please play around with color options (use color!) of SAPLPD. If it happend with a SAP network printer, is has not been properly installed.
